It’s now 2 weeks after the first year. I just heard this week though that if you have some in your vacation bank employers must allow it to be used. I don’t know if that is true or not.
I need to look into it.
Is there an end in sight with all of the legal stuff. I assume it’s all to do with your husband’s accident and him being compensated properly.

A person's life is often in their phone! But it did spur me on to take further precautions. I was up till about 1 am one night changing passwords and things which I've been meaning to do for a while. I also blocked and locked several things ... which I'm now going through the process of unblocking and unlocking.
Yeah, that's why I'd like to stay here until I'm finished working. Here, from 0-9 years, you get 4 weeks of leave. Once you hit 10 years, you also get long service leave. I'm currently at 8.5 years.
No end in sight yet. And yes ... compensated at all. The other side is becoming very nasty.
Foot issues.
I don't know what is going on with my feet, but I am being referred to a podiatrist.
My left heel (bottom of foot - heel pad) is so sore, walking is difficult.
My arthritis, which I've had for a while, has now been diagnosed as "advanced arthritis" in a very recent X-ray, and is bothering me as usual.
And the numbness, tingling and pain on the top of my foot, and up my legs isn't any better.
I have had me feet up quite a bit in the last 18 hours or so and the heel is starting to feel a bit better and the arthritis is settling, so maybe tension and lots of brisk walking.
But I need to exercise!!!

Welcome @PatDMuddle and @honkflap!
Machka No wonder you’re tearful and exhausted, losing the phone on top of reviewing that long chrisis. So glad you got it back, thankful someone turned it in. A pox on the nastyother side. Do you have a professional to advocate for your DH or is that you?
Kylia Joe is 6’ and I’m 4’10. Our first long road trip we took “Hilton” a great big ’72 Oldsmobile whose passenger seat was so big I could curl up in it and sleep. We left the the Bay Area, stopped a bit at the Grand Canyon and made it all the way to Little Rock Arkansas before sleeping in a motel.
Vickie will you motorcycle on your vacation?
Michele “…being retired, I need a calendar” made me laugh. I depend on my calendar WAY more than I did when I worked.
Carla fingers Xd you can find a happy place for your desk, good insurance is crucial.
Rebecca safe travels! What Tracey said about a good wood burning stove. Nothing warms the bones or dries out the soggies better.
Tracey Love it when our DH’s do something so atypical and so pleasantly surprise us. Hope you had a lovely meal and walk.
Heather you always make your meals sound yummy, even when they’re mostly composed of things I won’t eat (seafood, fish, innards)
Tina could sore soles of feet could be neuropathy? My Dr diagnosed neuropathy from a test where I stood on a machine that measured nerve/electric impulses. The rx? Alpha lipoic acid. Hope you get good answers and relief soon.
The price of gas has decided Joe to clear the overgrown hiking trails on our vertical acreage to provide an alternative to driving to the beach every other day. He lopped and weedwhacked halfway down the cistern path and back toward our only visible neighbor. I checked out his work when taking dogs down to the powerline. Impressed? Amazed!!!
Lighter, lovelies!

Saturday....I am still confused this week-lol. So much work to catch up on, but won't let that stop me from enjoying time with my grands this weekend .
Tracey- Too many cars for one driver! I own two- a 2012 Ford Flex (great for travel especially when shopping involved,ie girlfriend trips) and my Miata. My DH (who is blind) owns 2004 Tbird, 2008 Shelby GT, 2015 king ranch F150 (which we inherited from his mom), and the 2021 GT 500. We also have two work trucks. The F250 is mainly for plowing now. And my daily work truck is also an f150. So we own 6, plus the 2 work trucks. Most of my DH's are mainly driven to car shows. I really could sell my Flex, but DH is funny about cars. Even after almost 30 years together, I always feel like I need to ask permission to drive even his mom's truck, so the Flex stays. She doesn't eat much in her stall-😉 They are all expensive to feed when we take out though!
Love the adulting podcast!I also love your DH's responses. My DH calls it his cooking when we eat out.

Machka- Hugs! You have a lot on your plate. Fighting with workers comp is a pain, especially with long term injuries.
Barbara- Love your car trip story. Those big cars were so much fun! My dad had a Buick Electra when I was in high school. I got delegated to drive when going to drive in as we could fit 8-10 people in it easily!
Tracey I keep forgetting to say how much I love the Gnome.
I had better get ready for work. I am stressed already. Everyone being witchy these days. I will put a smile on my face and continue.
❤

Good morning ladies!
Machka hope things settle down for you. Yes, losing a phone is a crisis. Mine has a browser that wants to remember all my passwords. Handy for some sites, but scary for banking!
Not much going on here. Have a great day!

Machka- a couple of things on your foot and I have had both.. plantars wort- its a wort that grows in to your heel and is super painful.. I had to have mine cut out .. but felt so much better afterwards
Another could be plantar fascitis...and im thinking with all the running and biking you do it might be more so that.. its basically shards of bone that flake off and iritate your heal sometimes surgery is necessary ,but i went to podiatrist and gave me cortisone shots in the heel and had to wear a certain type of brace to sleep and no bare feet and in the mornings i would take a frozen water bottle and sit while having my tea and roll it under my heel..you need to stay off your feet for awhile to my friend..
Thats all the info I have for you.. good luck.. going to have some tea and get myself dressed and then throw the laundry in3 -

Hello, all...
Tracey - Love the gnome! I did ceramics a lot when I was living on an Air Force bases in England and the US. Many of the bases had a full ceramics shop with lots of molds and classes, etc. I'm noodling around now with sculpting in clay. I would say "again" but don't think I can count the truly awful little bowl I made for Mama's kitchen sponges when I was six years old. I watched all five seasons of the Great Pottery Throwdown and decided I might want to try again. I probably shouldn't watch shows like that.
Annie - congrats on the nearly two-pound loss! I love seeing you post your exercise, it means you're engaged in changing your lifestyle for the better.
Heather - My heart just breaks for you when you get so distraught over your son and his family's airplane flights.
Got out and got the lawn mowed after my post yesterday... honestly, I love buzzing around on that big zero-turn, and can get the five-ish acres that surround the house mowed in about an hour and a half. OK, I missed a few spots, but then, if I was perfect, I'd just be annoying.
White clothes are in the washer, will be able to get those hung out on the line as soon as it's light. Had to wait on Corey's help today to get the higher things pulled off the walls in the shop. In all honesty, if I were by myself, I would have taken a sawz-all to them, ripped them apart, and then levered them off piece by piece. I'd prefer to save them, though, as we can always find a use for more shelves. It may yet come to destroying them, but hopefully not.
I think I've decided to put to the side the thought of selling things at the farmers' market here. I want to use the energy I have to work on our property, and right now, I'm still having to reserve my energy, to use it sparingly so I can accomplish, well, anything.
So... off to the races, my chickens. The sun has arrived, but the laundry is still waiting because it's 51 degrees outside! Too cold for my arthritic hands.
Love y'all,

Well I tried on my green shorts. I can get them buttoned but there's no ease - I feel like a stuffed sausage in them. Maybe by July 4th they will be loose enough to wear outside. Because I am committed to this path! Meanwhile I have loose gym shorts and big khaki cargo shorts. But the green ones are cute. 😊 How are you all doing with summer clothes? (Winter for Machka)5

How wonderful Tracey!!! Hope you enjoyed your walk and dinner.
Those are great pieces of advice. I wish they'd teach some of that IN SCHOOL!
We never have an empty fridge here either, Heather! And I am SO BLESSED (and I know it) that Freddy is my personal "chef" and he loves to cook, so he also does most of the grocery shopping too. At least once a week, he'll bring something home from a restaurant, usually just The Legion, but they have really good food, IMO.
Heading off to my youngest brother's retirement party today. Maybe that's why I'm feeling so down. He's six years younger and retired already. He's earned it, certainly. 26 years on the Minneapolis Police Department. HE'S ABSOLUTELY EARNED IT! But he's six years younger than me! So yeah... That could be part of it too. But I'm very happy and proud of him.
Thanks for all the hugs and encouragement. I'm trying, really trying to stay positive. I'll let you know on Tuesday... how the first look went.

We'll see how this month goes. This month will be a particularly stressful one. Who knows, I might say that about next month too.

Not good.
Since Easter I've been so busy I hardly have the time to exercise or focus on me or my health ... and it shows.

Saturday --
I did sleep, but I've still felt tired all day.
Finished a huge spreadsheet I've been working on and sent it off.
Dug in my garden and tidied a few things up. It's quite chilly here, and the ground is cold, so I was only out there about an hour. I really should be planting my bulbs but I'm not ready yet.
Rode my indoor bicycle half an hour.
Got my phone functioning again. I had blocked a lot, and unblocking is a long process.
And finished a picture I've been colouring.
I also looked through my emails and see I've got some I need to deal with. That'll be tomorrow.

DH & I are enjoying our view of the Columbia River. This morning we have been watching a large tug slowly pushing a barge up river toward the Portland docks. We are also enjoying watching fishermen, ducks, osprey and other birds. 😊4

I must have the same problem. We actually had thunderstorms and a little rain 2 days in a row. The weather change must be working on my mood/headache/lethargy.

Kylia - how many vehicles do you have?
Michele - I use a Duncan brand acrylic sealer.
What do you mean about the “five foot rule”?
Rebecca - you need a nice wood stove. They always make me feel “warm to the bone” without the risk of skin cancer. I wouldn’t have it as an only source of heat though.
Vicki - I hope you get to enjoy your vacation and not use it for jury duty.
Lisa - sometimes we just need a lazy day. I enjoy them from time to time.
Debbie - I have the grands tomorrow, maybe I should take them to some garage sales. They love them.
Tina - Last week a coworkers other half who hasn’t been sleeping well and was complaining about aches and pains in his feet finally went to the doctor, after she threatened to leave him. He was seen two days later by a cardiologist as the doctor was very concerned about his heart. They are working now to try to get him healthy again. It might be worth a visit to be on the safe side.
The local radio station is
giving local graduates “tips for being an adult that you aren’t taught in school”.
Tonight’s drive home host told the graduates that there will be days that you work 8-12-16 hours and you go home to an empty fridge, it reminds you that someone has to fill that fridge and since you are the adult it’s you.
He went onto say that you never, not one day not say “I don’t know what to have for supper”, you’ll have that decision to make everyday over and over again.
I came home and told Rodger about it and he immediately asked me what we were doing for supper. I said I didn’t know that I was going to ask him. He suggested we go out to a restaurant. He never suggests this, so I jumped at the chance. He asked me where I wanted to go and I told him about a hotel restaurant that one of the women at work was talking about. He said, oh we can walk there. I almost fell over. I just loved that!
Today was my Brother and SIL 22nd anniversary. They have been together for 31 years though. Tomorrow would be my parents 56 anniversary. I never know how to word that since Dad passed.

Its not really that I am cold here in the house, its just that I miss lying in the sun like a fat gecko lizard.😁

On the subject of asking "what's fer dinner Pa" (Heehaw reference), husband and I start thinking what we want to eat for the next week on Wednesday's. He might write a wish list, or we take time to go thru freezer, and fridge discussing options. Then Thursday I make a menu up, (just dinners) and we shop on Friday's. Its been years since we just wandered about the pantry trying to figure out what we want. Now we do switch days around. Its nice not pondering that eternal daily question!

What's For Dinner? ~ That is a daily thing I go through. My husband could live on hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, and potato chips. I have always thought you should include a protein, starch and vegetable for dinner time meals. He barely eats the vegetables I prepare (even salad). I do best with hearty soups, stews, and casseroles. Anyway, I continue to try after 53 yrs of marriage.

Happy Saturday ladies!
What's for dinner? Fresh sockeye salmon. DH never liked the smell of fish cooking in the house - unless it was a freshwater fish like Trout or Pike. I wonder if it will taste as good as I remember it. Having a nice caesar salad with it, steamed broccoli.
I've been just kind of "redding up" - cleaning off the collections from flat surfaces. Some of it was DH's collection, most of it was mine. I'm going to call the garbage service on Monday and get going with weekly pickup instead of the current bi-weekly.
Plus the sensitive document shredding truck will be close by next Saturday so am filling a couple boxes.
Machka - I think of you every day, admire how well you are doing with all of your challenges.
More about DH and his passing, some rambling...I picked up DH's lab tests done a couple days before he went into the hospital. I want to go over them with his doctor for closure, plus I'm curious how all of this works. The evidence is pretty plain with so many things out of whack in less than 3 months that he wouldn't recover. What triggered this? He didn't have cancer. The steriods he'd been on for decades plus all of the other medicines? Again, just curious, no blaming. He'd been ready to go for the past several years. He got his wish.
One of the nurses at the hospital gave me a little booklet called "Gone from My Sight - The Dying Experience" by Barbara Karnes, RN. She has a website - bkbooks.com where she sells this little booklet and several others. I wish I would have had this three months ago to recognize what was going on with DH. He was textbook, going down Karne's timeline just as she said.
My sister emailed this wisdom to me yesterday - "I don’t think we realize that at a certain point there isn’t much we can do that will change the outcome of someone’s life winding down and we make ourselves crazy trying." She went through this with our parents, she lived next door to them. I knew he was in failing health and had no expectation he'd get better and stronger.
But I spent too much time fixing his favorite foods and being disappointed when he only ate a few bites, blaming myself for not being a better cook. And being aggravated with him for not going to the doctor sooner. That kind of stuff that piles up. Now I see he was on a trajectory that I wasn't in charge of and could not have changed. I think having this book would have made things more peaceful for both of us this past couple months.
Barbara- I'm with Barbie and was ready to send out the search party last week. Glad you are better and hope you have super strong antibodies so any crud you inhale will result in no more than a day of sniffles!!!
Flea - sounds like your house is sick bay. Hope everyone recovers quickly and the crud passes you by!
That's the quick catch-up.
Have a great weekend!

Hee Haw ,i remember watching that.. some of those old shows were funny..
I took a shower and am in pajamas andnam in bed. I know its early at least here,5 pm but think im going to take my pills and go to sleep..2 -
Well I was planning on being away overnight in August so I bought a pill box divided into days for my mom to use while I'm gone. But when I told her, she said she doesn't need any help so she doesn't need the pill box. This is the same woman who told the nurse she doesn't need any help with laundry, cooking or shopping. She is delusional. But if she won't use the pill box, I shouldn't leave her alone. So frustrating. And maybe she would be okay, but maybe she wouldn't.
