Sorry I haven't posted for a few days. I've been so drained lately. I talked to a nurse coworker about it, and I think I am going to get some B vitamins to see if that will perk me up.
@7lenny7 When I worked in a prison, we had a neighborhood right next to it (although I have no idea why anyone would want to live 500 ft from a prison), and as long as you respected the guard line signs and didn't cross or loiter, security wouldn't mess with you.
I did not run Thursday due to said tiredness, but I did hill repeats yesterday. @7lenny7, your 30 hill repeats make me feel like a wimp! My plan called for 5 min Z1, 5 min Z2, then 8x (1 min uphill Z5, 2 min down Z1), 5 min Z1. Those uphills were rough. I could go for about 40-45 sec running and then had to power walk the rest of the way for each repeat.
Today, I made up Thursday's run (5 min Z1, 35 min Z2, 5 min Z1) and did today's 45 min recovery Z1 run, which ended up mostly being walking to keep my HR in Z1. I ended up with 6.1 miles.
Trying to go to bed now so I can get up early and get in my 14 miler before it gets too warm. I also have a lot to do tomorrow, so I need to get it out of the way early.

Don't think I've checked in for a few days (though perimenopausal brain fog means I may well have and just forgotten all about it lol).
We signed up for a sunset hike in a village about 45 minutes away yesterday evening, so I moved my long run forward to Friday instead. Ran up to the village halfway up the mountain behind us, then back down and added a hilly loop on the end to add some more elevation. Ended up being 19km with 588 metres, but all on roads or hard-packed dirt tracks so not easy but not technically tough at all. It was a good run, possibly partly due to the fact that I remembered to freeze a pack of water the night before. Nothing like running up a mountain with 2 kilos of ice on your back at 7am :-)
Then not long after I got home our trail group's chat started going crazy... 'there's smoke in the mountains'. Fire started around noon on Friday and is still raging... over 2000 hectares of pine forest gone. The entire area I had my recent adventure in, and all the other side of 'our mountain' have burned, and it's still going. It's sickening to hear the planes and helicopters constantly going back and forth picking up water to drop on it.
So, off we went for the hike yesterday. It was nice, we set out at 7.30 pm so it was still pretty hot but we hiked up to an old watch tower/beacon and there was a lovely breeze up there. Amazing views, including over the valley to the burning mountains :-(
We hung out there until after dark to see the stars come out, then hiked back down by torchlight. Then we drove home watching the flames in 7 or 8 different places. Awful.
By the time we got home, removed a baby swallow (we have a nest in the apartment block's inner courtyard and the silly things are just learning to fly and get lost), showered etc. it was 1 am, which is like 3 hours past my bedtime! I was still awake by 7.30 so got up and out for a 4k shake-out run. My legs don't like me at all today... mileage increase plus elevation increase plus a hike (more elevation in there!). I'm feeling good though, in fact I left my husband in bed muttering about me having "too much bloody energy". Also, I wore the Cascadias again today and they were fine, no rubbing or blisters. Whether it was the vaseline I stuck on my ankle, the heel lock lacing, the folded-down socks that effectively gave me a double layer over the place they rubbed or just the fact that it was a short, flat run, I don't know, but I'll take it!

@7lenny7 That's a pretty trail you found that went through the prison. I would have been glad to be past that part too. I'm not a big fan of raspberries, but glad you found some you could snack on as you ran. Love that the young softball players were cheering you on up the hill. Great job on clearing the trail. I have never heard of deer fly tape. Looks like it works really well. We have those here and just call them biting flies. They do hurt when they get you! Sorry about the miserable weather preventing you from getting in your 17 miles. But, in my book 8.6 is pretty darn good in those conditions!
Hahaha @Scott6255 re thinking you had run further than you did on Friday. I hate it when that happens.
@Teresa502 I wondered if you ran the Crazy 8's when I saw it on the news. The winners were pretty speedy in my book. I didn't realize it was as big of a race as it is until I saw the reports this year. I hope you enjoyed it and didn't hurt yourself. I did NOT see you on the news, so I guess that is good.4 -
@eleanorhawkins I'm so sorry to hear about the fires. I hope they are able to put them out quickly before much more burns. You are awesome with all of the runs/hikes you have done!
This morning's run was my 14 mile long run. I signed up for a virtual half last fall and then never did it (I've done live halfs but didn't want to double count races), so I decided that this run could be that half (plus a little more). I finally can hang up the medal and wear the shirt. They have been sitting in the race bag since I received it because I didn't feel right doing anything with them until I actually "ran it." The temps were in the 70s during the entire run, but there were zero clouds in the sky, so even though it wasn't super hot, the sun was right on me for half of the run. I did two seven mile loops around my neighborhood and some businesses by my house.
I'm not sure why I can't get pictures to post straight instead of sideways. They won't post period from my phone and only sideways from my computer.6 -

Great running @Scott6255 and @SummerSkier .
@kgirlhart That is a really pretty park. I'm glad your daughter's procedure went well, but sorry about the celiac diagnosis. I can't help with recipes. I hope your family reunion is going well.
@katharmonic Sounds like you had a really nice get away! Love the shoes and the views.
@martaindale Great run. Enjoy Hawaii!!!
Nice running @marisap2010 .
@eleanorhawkins You are doing great. So sorry about the fires. I hope they get them under control soon. Glad that your shoes are fitting better.
@marisap2010 Nice job on your 14 miles and getting your Virtual HM done. I love the medal and shirt.

I haven't posted my activities lately, mostly because every time I sit down at the computer, the internet goes out. I AM REALLY getting tired of that. I think it may be partly because of the modem....may be bad. I'll try to give them a call next week and see. The last time I called, the lady said that could be the issue because she assured me that my line was "stable." Yeah. Right.
Anyway, I have not been following the plan. A little girl at daycare had on a shirt that sums up how I have felt about said plan this week. A picture is under the spoiler.
I have managed to run 8.25 miles and walk 4.45 fast miles total for the week. That brings my total miles for the month to 25.70/70.00 mile goal. Fingers crossed that I can do more next week. At least I am keeping my streak going.6 -
I have been away a bit but I have read through and am caught up finally! SO much great running going on and some awesome shoe porn!
@AlphaHowls - I looked at Zak Brockman and went a head and accepted him into the Strava group. He is definitely a runner.
Welcome @tarun_yadavA!
@Teresa502 - hope you had fun at the Crazy 8 race and that it all went well.
@7lenny7 - that deer fly tape is interesting. We had horseflies in Idaho - I wonder if they are the same/similar. The hill repeats are intense! But it looks like a great place to run!
@katharmonic - sounds like you had a great get away. Beautiful pictures and I love the bright orange shoes!
@kgirlhart - I believe @RunsOnEspresso has celiac too. I am not sure if she is checking/reading the posts here but you could definitely reach out to her. I will mention it to her too when I see her back posting workouts etc. She is/was off camping for a few days.
@marisap2010 - I have that same shirt 😁. Great job getting the virtual half in and done!
@eleanorhawkins - I am so sorry about the fires. From what I have seen on the news here it is a problem all across Europe. Interestingly we have had a pretty quiet season so far. They are saying though that it has been so dry that in many areas the brush hasn't grown much so there isn't much to burn. There is a forecast for thunder and lightening storms in the mountains here in the next few days so hoping it holds.
We were away for a few days in San Francisco for our anniversary which is why I haven't posted. I took running clothes with me and totally intended to run but never even took the clothes out. So I didn't run for five days. We did do a lot of walking though so I wasn't a complete slug the entire time. I have run 5 out of 6 days since we got home and the one day off I did strength training. Today I wanted to just get Hobbes out for a walk because it was going to be so hot the next few days. Much to my surprise a storm came in and it was cloudy and cool and felt like it was going to rain. Of course I had my running shoes on (just in case) so I figured we should just run what we could. It was lovely for the 1st half of the run and then the sun broke through the clouds and it got hot and steamy and it never actually rained. We ran a bit on the way home but Hobbes just doesn't deal with the heat well anymore so we walked most of the last mile.

So July hasn't exactly gone as planned!!!!!! Because of all my running, cycling, gardening and lack of stretching (I know I know....) i developed overly tight hip flexors!!!!! Guess better now than closer to actual races!!!
Hubby was also off work and kids off school so I just spent time with them.... but now I'm back..... again!!!
Can I ask what everyones best tips are for avoiding hip flexor problems?! I've started with some yoga today to try to improve my flexibility but I know i need to start stretching after runs/ cycles!!!3 -

The Crazy 8s race on Saturday night was hot, hot, hot. I think it was 80F at the start at 8:58 pm. There were 1504 runners who finished the race. As always, the first mile was my fastest mile at 10:46 and mile 4 was my slowest at 11:54 but I did stop to talk to a couple of my cousins and pet their dog on that mile. The course is mostly through a residential neighborhood and everyone was out on their lawns playing music and cheering even slowpokes like me on. A couple of spectators even had sprinklers set up which felt great. The winner who was from Colorado Springs (Shadrack Kipchirchir) set a course record at 22:41 beating out the 2nd place guy by six one-hundredths of a second! https://timesnews.net/sports/kipchirchir-edges-out-mantz-in-photo-finish-for-crazy-8s-usatf-title/article_3501b68c-0123-11ed-9ce5-cf7696a39597.htmlDefinitely a photo finish! Me on the other hand finished in 57:06!
@kgirlhart – What a pretty park to run in! One of my best friends has celiac and has to eat GF so I know what a pain that can be but there are so many more options these days for gluten-free. One thing I make is a grape salad (I will message you the recipe) and I love King Arthur’s brownie mix. My friend loves the Pamela’s products, especially their pancake mix and flour.
@katharmonic – Your spur of the moment get away sounds nice. The pictures are lovely and those shoes are pretty visible!
@martaindale – Hope all your flights were on time and that you are enjoying Hawaii right now!
@eleanorhawkins – I just saw an article this morning about all the fires and the people in Spain who have died from the heat. Very sad.
Great job on your virtual half marathon and bonus mile @marisap2010! I love that shirt and medal – so colorful - @katharmonic’s shoes would go great with it!
Sorry about your internet @quilteryoyo. I know that is so frustrating. Love the shirt!
Hope you had a fun time in San Fran @shanaber. Happy belated Anniversary!
@Sparx_81 – Google Yoga with Adriene. She has some videos designed specifically for runners.
@Scott6255 – Your treadmill running is so inspiring. Maybe if I had a state of the art treadmill (mine is a used one given to me by a friend) and a set-up to watch shows I would be distracted enough to at least tolerate it.

Just over here slogging through the heat!
Last week we went to Kings Canyon and it was only 90°! 🤣 Our first night had a bear steal a loaf of bread from a nearby campsite then walk through ours later (we were in the tent at the time). Our first full day we got heat exhaustion. Didn't feel that warm but damn humidity. Our last day we hiked 4.5 miles to the top of a waterfall. Great trip overall!
Today was only 82° when I headed out at 530 am but we had 69% humidity. It was gross out there. (We had huge monsoon roll through last night so that's why humidity is so high). Usually it's cooler during July (than June) but we've had exessive heat warnings all month and I think record highs. 🥵6 -
Yes, @kgirlhart, @shanaber is correct. I was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2015. I am happy to help.
One thing many people overlook is certain kitchen things will need to be discarded. Anything wooden that had gluten in it. Cast iron pans. Anything that can't be submerged in soap/water. We had to get rid of the George Forman and waffle maker. Separate toaster that has never had gluten in it. I use a pizza pan in the oven since we put gluten pizza on the racks. That's off the top of my head. There's a lot of resources out there. Chick Fil A, 5 Guys, Red Robin, In & Out are great with gluten free options (and all the fries are gluten free because they aren't fried in a shared fryer - that's a big one. A lot of places will say gf fries but they fry them in a shared fryer which then makes them not safe for celiac). I didn't catch who this was so if they are 21 and over, any distelled alchohol, even if wheat based, is fine. The distillation destroys the gluten proten. No beer. There are gf beers, which is what you'd want. Brands like Omission are not safe for celiac becasue they are "gluten removed". Beer doesn't kill the protein like distillation does.
Feel free to message me, ask questions here, or friend request. After the initial 6 months to a year it gets easier.
Oh, and there may be some initial weight gain. And depression (mostly because society revolves around food and most people don't know anything about celiac). But after the first few weeks brain fog and other symptoms should clear up.6 -
I'm halfway through my race report. Hopefully I'll get it done tonight.
Slowly catching up on posts...
@quilteryoyo - great vacation photos! Looks like you had a wonderful time. It's so nice that you've continued your relationship with your husbands kids & grandkids. I didn't realize you were in the AF and had all that satellite experience. I'm impressed! And as an engineer, I'm jealous!
@martaindale - congrats on the treadmill!! For treadmill distance I'd trust the treadmill display over your watch. The treadmill just has to count revolutions of the belt vs. time, whereas your watch has to sense each step and try to figure out what distance each step takes.
@swenson19d - great to see you back here! Glad you're still playing violin too.
@polskagirl01 your camp sounds fun. Such a great way to get the kids into running. I want to go to the LEGO festival!
@eleanorhawkins - nice shoes! The dust does make them look worn, LOL. The seeds are cool, does it say what they are? So sad about the fires. Is it affecting your air quality at all or is the wind blowing the smoke away from you?
@katharmonic looks like a gorgeous hike
@marisap2010 nice job on the 14 miler. I applaud your restraint in not doing anything with the race swag until you ran it.
@shanaber, what we call horseflies are quite a bit bigger than these deer flies, but supposedly this tape works for those too. I mean to mention, I bought a pair of the Tifosi sunglasses you recommended and I really like them. I got the "Track" version with dark lenses. At first I thought the lenses were too light but once I used them on trails, I liked that they were a bit lighter because it made it easier to see when I was on trails in shade. I think I like these equally as much as I like my Goodr sunglasses, and like that these have more of a wrap around shape rather than the flat shape the Goodrs have.
@Sparx_81 this is what my PT had me do to stretch my hip flexors. I don't do it nearly enough but it did help when I did.

Friday, 7/15 - 8.6 brutally humid miles on the local trails before heading to the lake. I wanted double that, but after the first 8.6 loop I checked the weather and decided I'd be better off, for both running and sailing, to end it there and do my long run the next day. This gave us time to have a beautiful sunset sail Friday night that I we would have missed otherwise. I did come across an mushroom I think is edible but I wasn't sure so I left it there and took photos so I could try to identify it when I get a chance. Here's the mushroom, and the sunset sail
Saturday 7/16 - 15.5 brutally humid miles on the trails near the lake. Though it was only 72F at the start, it was also 94% humidity. It was 86F at the end of the run. The area had heavy rains the day before so the forest was extra humid and there were plenty of muddy pits to run through. About halfway through I circled back to my car to change my sweat soaked socks and reload on ice water. For that second half I had my 1.5L frozen water bladder in the insulated sleeve. The insulated sleeve actually worked too well because I ran of water because it wasn't thawing quick enough. Next time I'll freeze it just over half full and fill the rest up with cold water just before I run. It was a great run in spite of the humidity. Raspberries are really ripening all over and I spent a LOT of time picking and eating. I'm not exaggerating when I say I had well over a dozen handfuls of raspberries on this run. So dang good!!! Towards the end of my run I did pick some to take back for my wife. I also crossed paths with nearly 30 horses on the trail. That's one of the things I love about this place is that the trails are shared with horseback riders, they're all friendly, and many of them like to stop to talk to me (and let me pet the horses). Oddly, the last two miles of the run were my best, both in speed and in how I felt. It was good to be done though. On the way back to the lake I saw a momma wild turkey and 8 baby turkey chicks. I've seen plenty of wild turkeys but this is the first time I've seen the baby chicks. Once back and showered we went went for a gorgeous sail but had to come in before sunset because my wife wanted to go to a dock party.
I didn't get a run in Sunday. I had a 7 mile planned, but after the party the night before I thought it best just to sleep in. It was another hot day, but windless so we dropped anchor, swam in the lake and enjoyed a few G&Ts.
I'm now at 114 out of 180 miles for July
A few other things of note...
My finger is healing quite nicely. The finger pad has solidly healed to the rest of the finger and most of the scab is gone. There's definitely still pain, but mostly when I bump it into something. It's also also still swollen and a bit deformed. The doc has me keep it wrapped up with a Coban wrap to help with the swelling and to help shape the finger tip as it continues to heal. There is an odd bump next to the scar that is a cause of irritation. Doc says to give it a few months and he can "revise the scar" later if needed. The nail will certainly fall off and I'm surprised it hasn't yet. It's another reason I keep it wrapped...I want to protect the nail as long as I can.
I just missed getting covid. We were planning on a full week on the boat during the week of the 4th, but I to come back home for a couple of days to help my son get ready to go camping at Glacier Nat'l Park with a few friends. In the time I was gone, my wife and a few friends at the marina came down with covid so I stayed home while she isolated on the boat. She was able to get Paxlovid and that helped tremendously with the symptoms. She was finally cleared to be around people in time for me to go down Friday.
Kody continues to go downhill due to old age, laryngeal paralysis and loss of hind leg function. His breathing is becoming more of a struggle at certain times and he continues to lose control of his hind legs to the point where sometimes he's afraid to go down stairs. Today he stumbled on the stairs going to the basement to go outside and a few times while he was out I saw his hind end give out a bit. Last week we had a nice cool evening so I took him for a walk. He was so happy to go out and for the first mile he was leading the way, but the last half mile he was dragging behind and we had to walk really slow for him not to struggle. He tends to sleep all day then be anxious, pacing and breathing heavy all night (a possible sign of dementia) so we have him on meds to knock him out at night so we get a good nights sleep. Sadly, the end is near for him. It kills me to admit it.

Can I ask what everyones best tips are for avoiding hip flexor problems?! I've started with some yoga today to try to improve my flexibility but I know i need to start stretching after runs/ cycles!!!
Yoga is great, however, also add in foam rolling - my right hip flexor is prone to tightening up so I roll it, and my hammies, glutes, and quads and that helps more than yoga does at releasing it.

Not a lot of running here just now - school holidays are cramping my style.
Did get out on Sunday for a long run with my club - cold and clear again. (I find early Sunday mornings often are beautiful for some reason - the stillness I get, but here in Auckland, the weather can often pack in around 9am after a glorious clear start. Science may have an explanation.)
We have our heat pump/air conditioning being installed today and the guys doing it keep opening the doors to outside, and I keep closing them. Yes, I understand they have to come in and out, but it's about once every 15-20 minutes, and I'm stuck here with the kids and it's only about 16˚C (60˚F) and breezy, so bloody freezing if you're just mooching. Envious of various heatwaves. Please send warmth. (And yes, I'm fully aware that 16˚C ain't that cold, but, it's all relative right?)4 -
@7lenny7 - I am so sorry Kody is declining! It is never enough time with these pups ☹️
I was looking for a new harness for Hobbes and saw a RuffWear one that is intended for lifting dogs when hiking but it is also for older dogs to help them up stairs, etc. It has a handle on the back and an additional strap that is lower near the hind legs. It might help with his mobility?
My daughter went through something similar with her lab too, for at least a year he would get so panicky and pant and whine and pace. Nothing seemed to help really and all the little things that annoyed him when he was younger like bare floors would set him off.
I love wild berries but to me those look like blackberries more than raspberries. Either way they look delicious!
@ContraryMaryMary - temps are definitely relative in how they feel but I will trade you some heat for some cold and maybe some water! I just read we are in line for more cutbacks soon. The rivers and reservoirs are so low I am not sure how they are going to be able to meet the needs of all the people and all the farms here.4 -
@7lenny7 I'm so sorry to hear about Kody. My parents last lab had similar issues. They used a towel to lift her hind legs and help her move. Sending Kody and your family lots of love 🖤🖤🖤3

July Goal: 110 Miles
7/1: 2.02 miles
7/3: 10.26 miles
7/5: 6.02 miles
7/6: 6.02 miles
7/7: 7.06 miles
7/10: 10.02 miles
7/12: 6.02 miles
7/13: 6.02 miles
7/15: 2.52 miles
7/18: 5.26 miles
61.22/110 miles completed for July
I did not get a run in yesterday. On Saturday night at the Family Reunion my mom fell and broke her hip. They sent her by careflight to Ft. Worth and she had surgery yesterday morning. The hip was cracked, but did not collapse and they were able to repair it with pins and screws. She is doing well and has already been up today and they said they may send her to a rehab facility tomorrow.
I haven't had a chance to read up on the thread yet, but I did run 5 miles this morning. It was warm at 81°F but the humidity was not high and the dew point was 51°. So it was warm, but not miserable.
6 -
@7lenny7 it saddens me hearing how Kody is declining. I have had 2 labs in the last 30 years. Both made it to right at 14 years, and both suffered with hip/ hind end deterioration, and eventually stopped moving and eating. It is Soooo sad, like watching your child suffering. You have my prayers and hugs.2

6 miles and 1600 vertical feet of hill repeats tonight on a sweltering 93F (102F heat index) evening. 30 times up and down the sled hill again, but this time just up and down, no loops.
I had earlier decided to skip the run today because of the heat but eventually decided to go out anyway and see what I could get done in spite of it. Struggling in the heat just makes me stronger, right? It actually wasn't too bad.
120 out of a 180 mile July goal complete.6 -
@kgirlhart oh no, your poor mom! Glad to hear she's doing well but that must have been horrible for all of you and especially for her.
@7lenny7 so sorry about Kody, it must be terribly hard to watch him going downhill.
Because we're down at sea level the smoke has mostly gone way over our heads, and the worst of the fire moved over to the back of the mountain so although you can smell smoke a bit sometimes it hasn't really affected our air quality. They finally declared it 'stabilised' yesterday but have yet to get it under control, let alone out completely. I know it happens in many places, but it breaks my heart every time I see the pictures the firefighters are taking. There was one video they made driving up the wide track I love to run on... sickening to recognise the track itself, turns, etc. but surrounded by total smoking devastation.
They still have all the accesses blocked off to stop people going up there, whether to get a look or to 'try to help'. Often well-meaning folks want to go and leave food for animals or something and end up doing more harm than good. The authorities have announced they've set up water and feed in various secret locations. They are also already contacting the provincial authorities about reforesting, I suspect there will be a lot of us up there doing what we can to repair the damage as soon as possible.

So this month marks the big jump into my hal higdon plan!!! I have 2 10k, 2 hm and then dublin marathon on 30th October..... dunno why I've done this to myself...
This month I'm in for 110.5 km
01/07 - 5km (didn't run.... great start to the month!!!)
02/07 - 9.5km (9.6km). More of a walk with running breaks but I covered the planned distance pretty close to planned time!
05/07 - 5km (6km trail, 14.6km cumulative ). Was a nice day out and legs felt good so only a few walking breaks up the steeper hills!!!
07/07 - 5km (7km done, 21.6 cumulative). Really didn't plan on going so far.... but legs were happy and the weather was nice... but my right knee is not too impressed.... so might need to ice it today! Really don't want to get injured already.....
09/07 - right knee turned out to be from over tight hip flexors.... need to rest a few days.... will see how long it takes....
18/07 - 5km. (27.6 cumulative)
Finally back out there..... felt good and made sure to stretch properly after. Going to try and incorporate a stretch routine every morning, not sure it'll happen but at least I have good intention!!! program altered.... so aim is 88km for July.
20/07 - 5km
22/07 - 5km
23/07 - 14.5km
25/07 - 5km
27/07 - 5km
29/07 - 8km
30/07 - 16km

6.2 miles this morning. When I woke up and was drinking my coffee at 4am, my phone said it was 90F, so I am very surprised Garmin shows only 84 as the temp during my run. But honestly, after about 80 it all feels pretty much the same.

@shanaber @RunsOnEspresso @scott6255 and @eleanorhawkins thank you for your comments about Kody. If the hind leg mobility were the only issue I think the lifting harness or towel would be good aids to helping him, but it's the sum total of everything that's declining with him, particularly the breathing issue. Sometimes just lying there he'll struggle to get in enough air and his diaphragm has to work extra hard. I've read where dogs with this issue can get into a situation where it's so hard to breathe that they panic, which makes it even worse and it's a real battle to get past it. I never want Kody to experience that. There is a surgery for this, but at 14 years old, he's not a good candidate for it and, again, it wouldn't solve all the other issues he's having. I had an appointing with the vet last week and while she would not definitively say he was or was not ready to be put down, she gave me insight to the decision and let know that she'd support my decision. I watched our neighbor cling to their dog for too long (in my opinion), and my sister's family kept their dog for too long (again, in my opinion) and I don't want that long, drawn out suffering for Kody. I just hope we have at least one more morning cool enough that I can take him on a slow walk on the trails one last time. @scott6255 Kody still has a lab's appetite but somehow he's dropped in weight from his normal 75 pounds down to 65. The vet said it's due to the deterioration of his muscles from old age and lack of exercise, but those calories have to go somewhere, right? Maybe they're in my back yard waiting for get the pooper scooper out.
@shanaber, yes the color looks like blackberries but the size and taste, to me, are more like raspberries, but I really don't know which one they are. They are mighty tasty though!
@kgirlhart omg, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom!

Just a little run tonight to get some fresh air. My son (19) was in a serious car accident last Thursday and got released from hospital yesterday. He has broken bone in his neck and fractures in his spine but no permanent damage which has been a great relief as he was thrown from the car.

@7lenny7 So sorry to hear about Kody.
@mari33a How scary about your son. I hope he makes a full recovery.
It was 89°F when I got up at 4:45 this morning. The humidity was low and the dew point was 52° so it could have been worse. We actually need the humidity to be higher because of the extreme heat and fire danger. I ran 5 miles again. Other than being ridiculously hot before dawn it was an OK run.
Mom is doing well. She has been cleared to be released to a rehab facility and now we are just waiting on the insurance approval.
My daughter got her biopsies back and even though it looked like celiac, the biopsies were normal so now she doesn't know what to think.

@Mari33a oh no! Glad it wasn't any worse but that must still be horrible.
@kgirlhart good news about your mom. Are they going to do more tests for your daughter?0
