    Absolutely! Very professional looking!

Lanette: I know what you mean about old stuff kept by partners. DH is an engineer and there are all sorts of things in the garage. He has thrown out some old appliances lately, but not enough in my book. I’m grateful that he confines his ‘treasures ‘ to the garage.

🥳🎉 Cheers to all those celebrating. I love hearing about joyful happenings.

Virtual (((hugs))) and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them. Sending hopes for better things for you in the near future.

I liked the room with all the pretty blues! I also like the hanging lamp in the same material as the sofa. The greens and blues were soothing. The library room felt gloomy to me.

Its a blustery, gray day with temps in the low 60's. No more high 70's anymore. I swear Whidbey Islands summer is middle of June and I have missed it for two years now, visiting my sister in Oregon. Crazy.
When I was there my sister gave me some tee shirts and short sleeved blouses, and capri jeans. I mentioned then that I had 25 items of clothing, including socks, underwear, shoes and jackets. She was practically horrified! I wear clothes as clothes, neither do I feel particularly grand in them or depressed either. But I expressed my lack of choices was my choice, not a lack of confidence. Anywhooo, she announced she would take me shopping. More for her peace of mind than mine. We bought 2 shirts and underwear she swore by at Duluth Trading, and a pair of shorts at Cabrillas. Our initial talk about clothing made me cry, in her bathroom, but I think it was more about the fact that each time I visit, she is always trying to fix me. Last time she did up my hair and put makeup on me. It makes me think changes are because I need bettering. I suppose in her eyes she is helping. Helping shouldn't make someone cry though. I love her and get in that "I will do everything you say because I am your baby sister" mode and she kinda mothers. Its hilarious to listen to her though. "Why don't you come with me and let's plan corn and those plants there...... If you want to". In other words " you're planting corn now"!😂😂😂

My favorite snack now. Fluffy waffles with blueberries. I had sent these photos to middle son as a choice for breakfast for Athena. With the options of her being shoe to insert blueberries in the squares plus get 10 grams of protein, so much healthier than cinnamon toast.

Rebecca - those look great, I just put them on my grocery list. I've been on the lookout for high protein snacks and desserts! I need to get off the cake and ice cream dessert train. These look perfect.

    Thanks <3

PS - your sister sounds like an overachieving "fixer" - I have those tendencies myself at times. :D Is this the sister who is the artist that paints beautiful birds on sheet music?

Hot!!!!! . I had to pick up Bea on my own so I indulged myself with an Uber to the school. We walked back to her house via the playground. I stayed at home with her until her mum came out of the shed and then I got an Uber home. Done my duty in style!
DH is having a great, expensive time at cricket, so I am assuaging my guilt. :p
Just had delicious pitta with hummus and falafel and salad.
    Expecting DH in 15 minutes.

:) My mother and I had a rocky relationship, in part because no matter what I did, I didn't meet the standards and expectations she set for me. This was compounded when during my college years, my younger sister died leaving me to meet all the collective expectations. In my 30's I found a spiritual program that met my needs and I was able to feel ok about myself. That's when I began calling or visiting my mother every Saturday morning for the rest of her life. I was more available to her as her health deteriorated. Since she died I have made it a point to remember and talk about only the things about her that are positive and have added to my life. Somebody told me, "Forget injuries, remember kindness".

:)Rebecca, I, too, have a tiny wardrobe and I love it. No decision fatigue. I love every item that I own.

Decision fatigue, I love that explanation! Gone are things too tight, too large, everything fits me fine. I do have some items that are my goal pants, tucked away though.

Heather--Glad all went well at the game. From the pictures it does look like you were up high. I do not do well with that. I get sick sitting up high anymore.

Kylia--Sorry to hear about your mom. You have to do what is best for you. My sister and I have not seen each other since mom passed away almost 6 years ago. I sent birthday, Anniversary and Christmas cards, but I really have no need to see her in person. I remember one time I was talking to my mom and she was wanting to know if I was still gaining or losing weight. I thought we were bonding and then she told me I could be the fat lady at the circus. My dad used to tease me when I was around 10 years old that they bought my clothes at Lincoln tent and awning. It was years before I realized what that met. Funny how those 2 things have stayed in my mind and both of them have been gone for years. Families are just not the same anymore.

Machka--I do think I could be comfortable in that room also. I enjoy watching the home remodeling shows. Gives me ideas of what I would like to do someday. Not so sure about the second one.

Rebecca--Sorry your sister made you cry. Just know that you are great just being you. I do think it maybe more about her and wanting to feel like she is doing something for you. Does that make sense? It makes her feel good. Just know there is nothing wrong with you. Smile and let her spend her money and then just keep being you.

Another fun day at work. The state people did not show up this week and the higher ups are running around trying to make everything perfect. I feel if you do your job the way you are to it doesn't matter if and when they show up.

Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND, NE <3

Yes, that makes sense.👍. Thanks for the words of support💖. During my stay I told my cousins, "my sister dressed me today" and we'd all have a chuckle. One day I might be brave and tell her to accept my quirkiness. I will always be one step out of the norm.
    💖👍

Allie - I've had an acidic stomach since I was about 2. if it is acid, eating something light will give the acid something else to chew on besides your stomach. Crackers were a great option. You might try some more in a bit to see if it helps. In any case, it won't hurt.

    have a wonderful evening ladies.
Off to do my "mother in law sitting" for the night.
Taking dinner - pork tenderloin w/ home made apricot sauce, broccoli, and freshly baked crescent rolls
If she has eaten already by the time I get there, that is fine. They can have it tomorrow. That is what I will have tonight.
Been busy ,went over walked her dog for over half an hour with my daycare girl, came back, had a little lunch(Jenni-O sausage w/ potato, celery, onion -for 200 cal).
Getting hungry now but need to get stuff packed up and over to her house. Daycare girl just left.

Hoping and praying for a restful night- will have to jog in place or do a whole lot of stairs to finish up my 10,000 steps. Need 3,000 more to hit it.

Up early in the morning, walk the dog, get MIL up and set. DH will be back there about 9 which is when I need to leave there to be home in time for daycare. Zumba tomorrow night so hitting my 10,000 will be easy tomorrow.

    Hi Gals,

I have had opportunities to do some social things recently, and realized that my wardrobe is very limited. Then I read some of the notes and truly do not know how some of you do it on such few items. I have 20 pair of sox, 5 short, 5 heavy woolen for early morning walks, and 10 in various length and weight. Then undies and bras and I am over the quantity that I think Rebecca listed for her whole wardrobe.

But I wanted a pair of summer pants and a top that could be layered with a shirt (one I have or a new one) I am going to a picnic and will probably end up sitting on the grass or a blanket and my only summer pants are a very light grey – I just did not want grass stains.

I went to 3 stores and could not find anything even to try on. I have not been clothes shopping for 5+ years, and there were very few items and most of those were for 20-year-old very thin folks. I don’t want see through tops, arm holes so big that If I turned wrong my breast would pop out the arm hole! No ripped jeans for me, nor leggings or pants with huge bright flowers on them. A small sized print or stripe something that fit in a way that I would not be embarrassing myself. But driving to the next group of stores was too much I was overwhelmed. My guess is the way this is going is to online shopping – which seems so hard. With dozens of trips to the post to return stuff.

One of the stores had no dressing rooms and a no return policy – the clerk said most folks just take clothes off in the isle's of the store and try stuff on - Not for me! I can’t imagine!!!

I’ll face this tomorrow - I really need another pair of pants.

    Sending love to all.

    Kim in N. California

I often shop at OP shops (thrift stores, second-hand stores) ... picked up a like-new lightweight cardigan and pair of pants today for $6 total. Sadly the pants are just a bit small for me (I didn't bother trying them on) but hopefully I'll get down there.

Those sorts of places often have last year's fashions which might suit me better than whatever is current.

For example, the new clothing shops are full of tents ...

    oicgoesdmx5v.png

    Or these ...

    cyfm3v8ei9c8.png

The OP shops have much more traditional clothing.

But regarding the see through tops and the tops with big arm holes ... you wear them with a tank top or short-sleeved T-shirt underneath.

And leggings are worn with a skirt over them.

July 13 - 12 extra minutes of daylight in the evenings. :)

Day 7 in the new job. :)

And my 5-year cancer check. Looks like things are all clear but of course, there was a biopsy and a sample sent to the lab.

Kelly/KJ ~ I am glad to hear that your husband has decided to come. 11 children under 7 would be a huge task for me.

Kim ~ I do a lot of online shopping (Amazon and Walmart) and have a horrible time trying to find something that fits. The idea of trying on clothes in a store is painful to me.
