Back from the football.
I was very apprehensive. Getting there was an unknown quantity, but we managed it. My son told me I couldn't take my metal water bottle into the ground which panicked me. First priority for me is to be weeed and watered. Hot. Hot.
Our seats were way up in the top of the stadium, so I was glad I had plenty of stair climbing practice on the cruise! Found a water fountain and my son found me a plastic cup, so managed to gulp some water and found a toilet.
Once I had settled down I loved the game. We made a LOT of noise. Edie was sooo happy being with her football friends. Max was bored stiff and tried to go to sleep. Bea wanted a wee, a drink and to eat. My poor son had to queue for ages to get them a drink and snack at half time. He missed 15 minutes of the second half.
But all good in the end. I entered into the spirit of it all and shouted and cheered. We left 15 minutes before the end to make sure we got out of the car park easily! The score was then England 7 Norway 0. It ended up 8/0.
Got home easily. A good evening. Way out of my comfort zone, but definitely worth it.
Before the match.
Flags are out.
Edie loving it.
Love you all, Heather UK xxxxxx

Worked then stopped at Food Lion for the meat for tomorrow so I can at least cut it up. Boy, I’m really not used to cooking for 4 anymore. I’ll probably be going to the store just about every day. No plans for tomorrow. Update: Colby just told me that he'd like to have more chicken. So much for the pulled pork. About his gout. I think he's afraid that it'll flare up.
Wish I’d been able to go in the pool, but made dinner for tonight for Jess, Colby and Vince (hot dog casserole). I’ll have gazpacho since I want to clean out the freezer some. The guy just called me to say that the corn on the cob is in so I’ll need room in the freezer to freeze some of it. Also, I want to be sure there’s enough for everyone. Then made waffle fries in the IP with the air fryer lid. I’ll probably just warm/crisp them up in the oven when I heat the casserole. Cut up the meat for tomorrow then made brownies for Jess. Colby will eat the applesauce muffins, the pineapple zucchini muffins, and I know Vince will eat the pineapple angelfood cake.
Vince and Jess took Shadow and Lexi to the vet. They’re giving Lexi fluids right now.
Debbbie – HUGS
The a/c people fixed the a/c. Went to Food Lion to get silken tofu for Jess’ brownies and to order the cake for Sat.
Vicki – scary!
Rebecca – love that stove. Don’t know that I’d want it (I’d want something bigger), but it’s real nice
Beth– welcome! What an interesting job. Would you happen to know if there is a senior pass (annual) to the national parks?

Sorry - I worked for state parks rather than national parks. I know national parks had annual passes for seniors at one time, but my knowledge is very dated at this point. They may not do that anymore.

Good Monday,
Mammogram 2nd go around done. Radiologist said all is good. Most likely just the way the tissue squished together. Still have to go back in 6 months for another left side mammograms just to be safe.
Barbie- That made me laugh out loud!
DH and I won a trophy at yesterday's car show-yay! Unfortunately, we just found out and they are 1.5 hours away......they were having difficulties getting the results while we were there. The announcement was that they would get the results posted this week, so we should all leave.....DH says they should mail it, I think they should just keep it. It isnt worth mailing as it was a fundraiser show. It would be different if it was a plaque, but it is s 4 ft trophy! We really don't need it.....just more stuff to find a place for. I am needing for my DH to go away for a weekend so that I can clear out more of my stuff. Yes, he gets frantic when something leaves the house, even when it isn't his stuff. SMH.
Finally got to bank. Made it to Costco, now waiting for DH to get out of massage. Still need to get to grocery. May just stop at Walgreens. Really only need milk and crackers. We will see.
Family dramaMy aunt got moved to a memory care unit a few months ago. She has always been a private lady. My mother, who hasn't seen her sister in over 5 years(including when my aunt broke her neck) all of a sudden is concerned for her sister and posts on facebook that we aren't keeping her in the loop. We have told her that it was an inappropriate post and to please remove it. Mom has all of our cell and home numbers, but goes on a public site-SMH. My brother and sister have asked me to go on a trip to see mom in October....not sure I am ready for that. My mom is a narcissistic recovering alcoholic with a mean streak. She hurt my sister and I really badly about 5 years ago, unfriended, told everyone she disowned us, blocked our calls, and sent nasty cards. I text on holidays and send birthday and christmas cards. I know I should be thankful that she is alive and well, but she is so mean. Anyway, not sure what I am going to do about trip. It has been about 7 years since I have seen her.Thank you all for always being here.
A friend just brought me a hot pink phlox and milk. So sweet!
Time to clean kitchen and get ready for bed.
Hugs!
Healing thoughts!
Cheering on!
Welcomes!

Kylia - Take care of you. If your Mom is that bad, say no. You are not obligated to subject yourself to pain because she gave birth to you. Hugs!!

Michelle- yes I bought Tom a lifetime pass to any of the national parks when it was still 20.00 i think it is now 80.00 but it is lifetime for anyone over I think over 62 and anyone in the car with them.. i would check though..
Just checked... you can get an annual pass for 20.00 or a lifetome pass for 80.00.. back when I got Tom his it was 20.00 for the lifetime pass.. he lucked out.. sheesh what i did for that man.2 -
Kylia - The best part about aging for me was learning that I could say no to things like your brother and sister's request, and say it quite cheerfully. I adored my mama, but someone in my family always made holidays at home traumatic and destructive, so I simply didn't go home at Christmas. Ever. Easy for me since I always lived at least a hundred miles away or more. You don't have to love your mother. You don't have to forgive her, and you certainly don't have to go put yourself in her line of fire. You have the choice.6

Michele, my sister has so many heavy items, as well as a 4 ft gun safe, and a pipe organ (in garage). She has moved about 12 times in their short marriage! Buying homes and selling. Its been traumatic on her as she has to get the old places ready for selling, and all the $ involved with moving. I think they will be there for s long while though. 👍💖

Katla - so sorry to learn of your hubby’s heart attacks. It is so difficult when someone is in nursing care. Take care of you. My prayers are with you and your hubby.

HUGS for you, having to deal with a mean mom- Dh is dealing with that now but he has to stay with her until she heals.
You have to do what you feel in your heart is the right thing- Doing something out of obligation is not always a good thing. That is what he is doing and it is making him even more bitter towards her and everyone else, including me.

Made the pulled pork so I can put it in the freezer. Don’t want to waste the meat (not at the prices today)
Beth – that’s no problem. When I was at Canaveral Seashore, I think the senior annual pass was something like $60. And I only go there for about 15 minutes/once during the year. I guess I was hoping that it would be less somewhere else. I’d probably never get my money’s worth for the lifetime pass. So if I need to go for the short time, I just borrow a neighbor’s pass. It was $15/day. $15 for 15 minutes – I think not
I’m hoping to get to the gym tomorrow and then make a donation at the Salvation Army. Got it ready today. Then we have a teleconference with our financial advisor after which I’ll probably have to go to WalMart.

I could be comfortable in this room ... although I would probably go with a different lamp.

Good morning ladies!
Sun is coming up, I'll pop out in a few minutes to get a short walk in.
But first, I ran across longevity and dementia studies this morning. I thought they were fascinating. If you have time, and are interested, check them out. As we age, putting on some weight is good for us. As is coffee, some alcohol, a bit of exercise.https://www.cbsnews.com/video/living-past-90-caffeine-alcohol-and-extra-weight-may-be-good-for-you/#x

In other news, my broken toe is pretty much healed. Still a little swollen, but can wear some of my old sneakers without discomfort. At the top of my gratitude list today.

This would be mine. All the books!! Before I moved to an RV, I had to get rid of all my books. I had a bookshelf about half the size of the one in the picture. Now it’s my Kindle full of books!
I wish i could use ginger, I’m allergic. Makes me worse and a constant friend to the bathroom.
On mothers… mine is emotionally manipulative; always manages to make me feel guilty and lacking when I talk to her. I call her more out of obligation than anything else and am glad when I have to leave a voicemail. She never checks them.
My nose was really stuffy last night. Couldn’t sleep well as couldn’t breathe through my nose, and choked from the post nasal drip. All part of the healing. Annoyingly, I have to rinse nose every hour except at night. Helps tremendously during day but not at night unless I get up and rinse again.
Lol, this is my third edit. Just wanted to say I got in the lake yesterday for 30 minutes. It’s salt water and refreshing. First time this year. I loved it! Avoid it when there is too many people but very quiet yesterday.
