The girls painted DH'S nails with glittery nail varnish and then dressed him up.
Having a wonderful time.

Heather ~ Your husband is such a trouper! So nice that he plays with the grands!

Super time. How lucky are we.
Max devised a card game that only he could win. Then, while they were playing hide and seek, he programmed Alexa so that their voices were coming from different rooms. Poor DH.
I declined the chocolate and salted caramel ice cream for dessert and just had an espresso, but I had a spoonful of my son's. Yum.
It was nice to have girly talk with Edie. She somehow managed to wrestle the orange skirt that DH was wearing into a stylish dress. Two different versions, both lovely.
Max was in a carb coma after eating ALL his pizza.
We walked home.
DH has a walk/talk/lunch with Max tomorrow then we are picking the girls up from football on Tuesday and they are going to give us a cello and violin recital. 😀 😍

It's my Dad's birthday today. He is 88. He quit his tutoring and his choir this year. But he still mows the lawn and he walks three miles three times a week. He times himself and he fusses if it takes him over an hour. That's so much better than other men his age, most of whom have passed. I got him a new Fire tablet, so we will be setting that up this afternoon.

You can imagine how happy DH was when they knocked on the door and asked him to move the car!!! He was in the middle of gymming and had to park it further up the road. He managed to avoid parking it under a large tree though. Even though it was a Saturday, the guys were working until about 2.30.pm, digging a huge hole and trench.
It's BT, putting in cables.
Oh well, one day they will be gone. It is a bit of a racket though.
Sorry to hear about uour eye, Barbie. Hoping for a quick fix.
Now to get DH a cup of tea and get ready for our babysitting this morning. Later this afternoon, it is the final of the women's Euro football. England made it all the way. You all remember we went to watch the Norway match in person with the kids. It may be that DH will want to stay and watch it with Edie. I haven't asked him, but it's an idea.

very thankful part of the road work around here is done- They are still doing the side streets but the one that was really hard to deal with was the one on the court across the street from us. They didn't even start working until 8PM each evening and went one night until exactly midnight. I heard the beep beep of them backing up until right at 12- they can't work after midnight or something, I don't know. I do know I was very tired and just wanted to sleep. Thankful I was on our street and not in the court as the noise would have been so much worse and the flood lights they were using made it brighter than full daylight.
Went to bed early last night as I had only had just over 4 hrs sleep the night before. Worked food program/food bank yesterday morning with mom. Love it but not the hours.
Woke up early, cleaned up the mess from the litter boxes(someone peed outside of them-plenty of boxes but one always goes outside the box-have pads on the floor for him but still a mess if it goes under the pad) and fed all the inside cats- need to feed the outside ones after I get dressed.
I wanted to sleep another hour and a half but as soon as the cats saw I was awake, they wanted to eat.
having my tea and checking in here while I have some extra time.
Church this morning then over to MIL's house- walk the dog and possible help her with her shower. She really needs one but has refused each time we try- one shower since her accident and who knows when she had one before it. I am not going to stress- if she doesn't want to take one- it is on her. We are there to help if she does.
Joined a steps challenge with a zumba friend and some of his friends- M-F so will work a little harder to see how I do.

Barbara! Never thought of BUBBLES!!! We do that at weddings now, along with wild rice. YES, precooked, dried wild rice. Silly Minnesotans!
Well, we're all "trying", Lisa. But probably good that you didn't go out there.
I'm so sorry you're not feeling well Rita. Hope it's just a summer cold, but those are so icky anyway.
OMG, Rebecca! THAT FACE! Just makes me SMILE every time you share. Thank you for that.
Heather, that's just brilliant! One for the graduation poster, for sure. (if you do that kind of thing in the UK) What a treasured memory. That's quite a versatile skirt and quite an imagination! The pizza looks devine... YUM! Sounds like you have your entertainment all set up.
AC is working wonderfully!
Think I told you about going down to my old building and moving the files around. Well, it's done and I'm officially "out". Came home and wrote my old "boss" an email to let her know. (who's technically not really, but the supervisor of the building) She wished me well and said I'll be missed and I'm always welcome to stop in and say hi and they would keep me on the email grouplist so I could stay up on the news since I've been in that building for 12 years. And then I CRIED!
But we did have a wonderful evening last night with some dear friends. Went out to dinner at David Fong's in Bloomington, MN. They're closing after 64 years in business. I remember going there as a kid. It was for special occasions because it was "across the river" so it was a big deal. And Freddy and I went there with his parents a couple times before we had kids. We took the girls there once or twice, but we haven't been back in years. We decided we had to go back, at least once before they closed and our friend Ricky had never eaten there so it was definitely time.
So that's all. Love ya. Carla, in MN3 -
Pip, that's so cute! Nice pop of color!

Barbie in NW W-sorry to hear about eye-hopefully it can heal quickly.
Rebecca-your food combinations are something else!
Pip-very cute job on bike. You have done some nifty projects since moving into your current place.
Allie-so if you are set with Cardio for another 6 months are they taking you off transplant list?
Got my 3 mile walk in. Rather leisurely pace but it was gorgeous out this evening.
Take care all,

Heehee, I know, I know. My soups also can get carried away into....oh no I added too much of EVERYTHING!

Carla, most everyday I am gazing at her for a mental pick me up. How kids view life is so uplifting and encouraging!💖👍. This is also one of my favorites.

Today I'm kind of pigging out with eggs over easy, a bagel, bacon , a banana and some hollandaise sauce to dip things in. I will fix this mid day.
Time to balance checkbook, pay some bills. For dessert I might have some fruit mochi with bean paste , or mango mochi ice cream balls.😁

Ahhh - the scratch coat is on all four walls and the ceiling. I worked in there in 30-minute stints, came back in, cooled down, and then went back out again. It works, and I don't get so exhausted that I get dizzy. Corey finished up the ceiling work for me. For whatever reason, I get dizzy every time I look up, and not doing any ladderwork for similar reasons. Seriously, he finished what would have taken me two more hours at best, and was done in 30 minutes.
We're not trying to make it look good, we just want the light to reflect. It's all going to be storage at first, and we want to be able to see what's on each shelf. Here's the before and after. It was genuinely a dark little cave before.
And Levi has grown so much I barely recognized him in the picture.
Time to put the week's medications sorted. I hate doing it, but I hate trying to remember what I'm supposed to be taking four times a day even more.9 -
Levi is precious! And, what a mischievous little smile!
Did y'all put up all that dry wall? Looks good.

I bit the bullet and am going solar with my house. The panels were installed on top of my garage yesterday, and now I'm just waiting for the utilities company to come in and complete the connection. A lot of homeowners in my town are doing this now because the Texas grid is slowly failing, with upkeep at the state level non-existent. Anyway, I don't know if I'll save any money, but I should at least break even. And of course, I will have access to electricity during our ever increasing rolling blackouts and power failures. A great bonus is that the panels and framework are rated for Cat 3+ hurricanes, so I don't have to worry about losing them during a big storm.7

Ugh afternoon ladies
Im as Heather would say knackered..
Didn't get to the hotel until after 11 pm last night and was up at 8:30 this morning..
Stopped down in Nashua at Costco and bought ,diapers, wipes bottles water, a bottle of chardonay and some cookies.. the last 2 items for Tom and Elena for watching Alfie overnight for me..
The party was fun.. but all that driving up one day and back the next day exhausting. But the weather was spectacular..2 -
Pip you did a great job on the bike planter. I love the colors.
We've been busy trying to get our house sold and another property cleaned up. Hopefully it will sell before we have to pull it off the market and turn it back into a rental.

That area rug that I just cleaned?, I posted it for sale and it is gone, it was sold in about,20minutes after I posted ,on 3 different sites.
Getting a different color rug to match more with the couch and chair that we have. This is the one I decided on. Comes with a free pad, 30 day return, they pay for the free return. Free shipping to me. Going to wait til we get back from camping before we order it so that we make sure we are home. Had come corner pockets that we can tuck the pad into so the corners won’t flip up. Machine washable. It should lighten up the place a bit.
There was one from a different company that I liked a little better (didn’t tell kirby) but that one you had to pay to return and buy the pad separately.

Michelle-I have had the sea salt ones from Aldi-I agree they are good but a bit too salty.
Evelyn-good to hear from you! I was wondering last evening how you were doing. Congrats on the retirement countdown! I still haven't sent my firm date.
Lisa-the walls look nice and the right tools make all the difference. BUT Levi is just too handsome! I think he and Athena would be a matched set!
Bethe-don't blame you for giving solar a try-hope it proves reliable for you.
Glad you are safely home Allie
Mary-If the market in Minnesota is anything like the rest of the country I would think your house would sell fairly quickly.
Pip-I like the rug choice. Don't blame you for wanting them to coordinate. My husband wanted to keep some things that were mismatched because "we paid a lot for them." He wouldn't consider selling.
Broke down and went to urgent care today. I have been fighting sinus issues for a couple of weeks. Wasn't taking anything for them (hoping to clear up on own). Started moving into ears so I am on antibiotic and flonase.
Got walk in today and several other odds and ends chores. Need to put away chicken breasts I baked for this week and clean up.
Take care all,

Well tomorrow is a new month. Kirby has been having some problems with one of his feet but we still walk yogi his 6 miles daily. He’s taking care of it, don’t worry. I suggested he can ride his bike outside meanwhile I can walk yogi at a faster pace. He can ride 3 days while I walk and I will ride 3 and he can walk yogi. This way it will give his foot a break at the same time. We haven’t ridden outside since we’ve been here because we are walking yogi. He took our bikes to get tuned up and we got our helmets out and recharged our batteries and we are ready to go. We both miss the road and it will b nice to change things up a bit.4

Heather: I hear you on hubby’s clothes. Mine has trouser and shirts galore. He has started winnowing them a little. Small steps.
I’m in packing mode today. The ferry is late tonight getting in to Liverpool at 6.30am. We should be in Oxford late afternoon.

I’m back and will get caught up tomorrow.
