My treadmill uses ifit for guided runs. I just got it earlier this summer and have really liked them. Treadmill runs can be such a grind but I have found the guided runs really enjoyable.
@kgirlhart - Congratulations on maintaining your weight loss! Such an amazing transformation!!
@marisap2010 - I am sorry for the loss of your friend.
@polskagirl01 I hope track Tuesdays continue to be successful! And I'm glad to hear you have been feeling better.
I don't have a treadmill at home but my work has a gym so this winter I plan on using it. It would be awesome if their treadmills have this.
I do have bike and trainer, I plan on utilizing this winter as well, I have used Zwift in the past for that but don't use it enough to justify the $20 a month to continue paying for it.
Most defiantly when stationary it's always better to be able to feel like we are surrounded by others.3 -

Another idea is to just set up your phone or tv where you can watch videos while treadmill running. Mine has a little "shelf" for a tablet or phone (and a tablet also covers the display, which I like when I'm running for time).
Youtube even has videos of people running trails or other fun locations. We even had someone here who was "running" different countries via those types of videos.
Rest day for me today. I need it!
I never thought to look on YouTub! Thank you so much for this information, I will have to look into it!1 -

Yes, this is what I have done. It makes a HUGE difference. Almost make the treadmill half-way enjoyable.
6.25 miles this morning. Got up late so it was already quite hot, and the bright shiny sun didn't help. Was supposed to be a threshold run, but I could only manage a negative split run, finishing the last mile at race pace.
"Half-way enjoyable" sounds about right.4 -
My friends and I dedicated our run this morning to Eliza Fletcher. We prayed for her family and then joined the “Finish Liza’s Run” to honor her memory. The temp this morning was a nice 59F, the moon bright and the stars were shining. This morning’s 5.59 miles brings my monthly total to 27.82 miles.
@yirara – So sorry about your ankle. I hope that it is well on the path to healing.
Glad you are enjoying your nights out @tarun_yadavA but are still pounding the pavement in the mornings! Balance right?
Love the animal counts @kgirlhart!

Good morning all.
Managed another 4. But will be resting up this weekend for sure!
Second night out in a row last night. That's me socialising/drinking for a good 6-8 weeks now!
Nice 6.5% West Coast IPA, which went down a treat with these guys. (Even told the lady to forget bringing the celery with it! 😂 )
Have a lovely weekend everybody 😊

Accompanied kid to school, her on bike, me running, then continued on by myself for about 10k of run/walk intervals (mostly 3 min run / 90 sec walk, with more walking towards the end). Just ran out of steam. Got home and ate a whole tin of sardines and had a protein drink, still feel like I need something else, maybe I'll grab a vitamin drink before lunch. At least I am craving things with nutrients other than sugar 😆
Although @tarun_yadavA 's food looks good...9 -

This was my 6th consecutive day running and I could tell my legs are tired. It was the coolest morning we have had since before summer at a brisk 70F! Fall is coming!! I went to the trail for a much needed break from the concrete. It has been raining here most afternoons/evenings for over a week so I was giving it a chance to dry out a bit. We got some sprinkles a couple of days ago but I figured it would be ok today, and it was great! It’s single track and the grass along the trail has enjoyed the rain. It is quite long and encroaching a lot and my feet got wet just from the dew off the grass. I hope the county gets out there 1 more time before fall and cuts it back so it doesn’t get out of hand. Last year, there was a point where it got so overgrown that I didn’t feel safe running because I couldn’t see where my feet were landing and I didn’t want to risk an injured ankle. There are obviously snakes out there but my trail friend walks early every morning with his dogs so they tend to scare anything off before I come through. Speaking of which, I saw my trail friend and his dog, Hank. And his new girlfriend and her dog Casper, who looks like some sort of poodle mix.
Leaving tomorrow to visit my friend in Puerto Rico. We have a day hike planned that looks like a beautiful spot. I’ll make sure to take a few pictures.5 -
Have fun in Puerto Rico @martaindale!0

@martaindale have fun in Puerto Rico! I can't wait to see some pictures.
Does anyone have any recommendations on good running shoes? I love my Mizuno Infinity Waves but I can't seem to keep them from slipping on my heal. It seams the last 4 or 5 pairs I have had are doing this. I have tied them so tight that my feet fall asleep and they still slip. It's not a lot just enough to be uncomfortable.
Last night it hurt to much to walk because of the blisters, I made it a quarter of a mile before I gave in to the pain. Today I did get a short mile in but by the end I was waddling. Any recommendations would be accepted in helping these blisters go away.
On a better note, I have not had any alcohol since Monday. Last night I was spot on with my calorie intake. We have the high school football game tonight so it will be a late night with no walk in.

@lou2you2 - running shoes are such a personal preference because everyone's foot and gait is different. Do you have a running store near you where you can try on different shoes? I personally like the Brooks Ghosts but I have a wide foot and they fit my foot good.2

I second all of this! It's so helpful to feel the shoes on your own feet. A running store can also do a gait analysis and make suggestions.3 -

We do but it's a small selection and but needed a recommendation of where to start looking. We also have a running store but their recommendations were spot on to what I have already.
I can't get myself to buy running shoes unless I have tried them on. I was just curious if anyone else had some suggestions.
Or if anyone knows a good way to keep the heal from slipping that would be awesome.
Thank you @teresa502 and @polskagirl01

@lou2you2 - do you use the runner's loop when you tie your shoes? Also called the heel lock. Basically uses the (usually unused) last hole. Many videos on web but here is one link https://youtu.be/RKdSqlFszG42

Thank you for this, I will have to try it. I have heard of it but completely forgot it was a think.
Thanks again!1 -
Hey all! I'm in for 153.6 miles this month. Why not-so-round number? It's the minimum I need to have my highest September total ever.
I'll catch up with you all more next week, including the 50k race report I still owe you from July (75% written since mid July...how lame of me!).
Tomorrow is my main race of the year, the Superior Fall 50M race on the brutal, rugged Superior Hiking Trail in northeastern Minnesota. Race starts at 5:15am and I'm just making last minute preparations, and drinking a last minute beer, before heading to bed.7
