Ive seen pictures and video of the park, not of Toms place and there is tons of destruction. Homes gone, roofs gone, carports gone.. its a mess.. right now and for the forseable future its inhabitable.. i hate to have to show Tom the pictures ,but need to for his own peace of mind.2 -
DH and I have been chatting off & on via telephone most of the day. He is getting better day by day. I hope that he will be able to join me in our apartment in a few days. I am looking forward to being together. 💖6

It's great to hear this. I remember not long ago that you were so discouraged about not getting to see your husband and now you can talk to him on the phone and your daughter has taken you to see him and you've found some ways to pass the time at your apartment while he is getting better.

Can't he find the pictures on his own? That way he can find them and look at them when he is emotionally ready.
It is very sad. So much devastation.

Can't he look it up himself. It's his place. As Flea says, he can do it when he is ready.
Otherwise it could come across that you're gloating a little.2 -

Just a quick note, our cat brought in a mouse a few months ago. We (eventually) caught it in a humane trap and relocated it ! Touch wood, Maggie cat has not caught any mice since. I couldn't use poison, my daughter sees the aftermath of poisoned mice at the farm and hates it.
Devastating news about the hurricane, I can't imagine having to evacuate your home, and then not being sure if it will still be there or how bad the water damage will be when able to return.
Must dash, I'm going for a health check this morning, not quite sure what it entails, I think I'll be checked for diabetes/heart disease and a few other things. I applied a few months ago and have been on a waiting list. I was contacted a few days ago about this appointment. It is a bus ride away but I can use my new bus pass I've googled the address, and think I know where to go. (It's a part of town I am not familiar with.) There's also a little shopping centre there too, so I'll have a look around afterwards.
Love to all

Interesting social conundrums in the last couple of days.
My DSIL texted me about coming over to visit. The day they suggested is DH'S birthday. He doesn't mind my brother etc, but it would not be his choice for a birthday treat. I told him it was OK to say no. So I told them not that day and suggested another alternative. That's fine. It's a bit near the cruise so I will ask them to do a LFT beforehand. DH does not find it easy to say no. He thinks he is upsetting people. I told him it's his birthday!!!!
Then I asked him what he would really like to do for his birthday
It's a Monday. I know he loves to see the kids, so I asked him if he would like us to take them to Fatto a Mano that teatime. That lit a spark in him. Then he worried about not inviting my son and DDIL, but I persuaded him it was his birthday. What do you really, really want? So I texted my DDIL about it and she was delighted 🙃. So we are going to meet the kids at their house and walk down to Fatto from there. Hooray!!!!
It's quite hard work getting him to say what he really wants. I have to be tactful and patient. I have done a lot of work on boundaries, so I've got much better at saying what I want and not worrying as much.
So all is good and no one is resenting anyone.
Flu jabs this afternoon.
Went for my 5k this morning as the weather was irresistible. We know rain is coming later.
You can see the weather front approaching.
The sea was silver.
Unfortunately, I had a Lisa incident, which I didn't realise, until I got home!!! 😢 I even bought a whole lot of shopping from the deli and the butcher! This happens very occasionally, less than once a year, but a big clear up!
S**t happens
Much love to all. Heather UK xxxxxx

And just knowing what you feel, or want, is hard too.

Heather: I love the bowl!
Machka: So glad the skin cancer was caught early
Katla: Hoping your DH joins you soon!
Rebecca: Glad the doctor was helpful. Maybe all the traveling contributed to this It would for me.
Viv: I hope you enjoy your adventure on the bus and to the MD and to the shopping.
My parents had a place down by Fort Myers for 20 years They loved to sit on the beach. The destruction there is unbelievable. I 50% packed us up and had a hotel reservation in case we lost the lights, we only have 12 hours of battery on the bi-pap but all has been well so far. They didn't even cancel school in this county. I did take a walk yesterday and visited a friend. Hoping to do a zoom social hour this morning and then walk again. The extra help has been great and getting to bed earlier is wonderful!4 -
doing the Friday dance with you Machka!
The shower looks great, Pip! I miss my handyman husband. Now I am the handyman.
Heather- How about we "flip" that "invader mouse" position?! I think perhaps you need to think of him as your much smaller room mate. Set up a little mouse sized table and chair, fix him a very small charcuterie board and give him a smidgen sized glass of prosecco...friend for life.
It is FRIDAY! I only have three kids today! It is like a mini vacation. kind of. ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)8 -

Actually, I don't dislike mice. Just not little vanishing, scuttling shadows when I'm relaxing in the evening. I admire them, in a way. But I didn't invite them in.
New podcast by Dr Chatterjee is food for thought. Guest Zach Bush. I think Margaret might like it. I think he is at the extreme end of the 'wholeness' spectrum, but I agree with most of it.
Love Heather UK who has just seen the mouse again!1 -

When I was teaching grade one I routinely read "The Mouse and the Motorcycle" to the kids. I was understandably horrified when the custodial staff began taking steps to poison mice in the school until a mouse ran across my path and I grabbed my skirt, jumped away and yelled "EEK"0
-
I saw something on Facebook that if you take white vinegar and pour it around the perimeter of your home it keeps the mice away..1

OMG...... webinar was SO BORING! But I got some busy work done while attempting to listen to stuff that I've heard before... for years!
NOW, I'm off to play for the weekend! YAY!

We went for our flu jabs. We were called in together. She was a very jolly jabber and it was almost painless. An enjoyable experience!

I am looking forward to having DH in the apartment with me. I don’t know what time he will get here today. If all goes well, we will be here together.
DD is planning to build a house for us on her property. The house that was there for many years has been torn down. We haven’t heard what the timeframe for new construction & building might be. I am guessing next spring.9 -
Katla ~ So happy to hear that your husband will be joining you and pray that all goes well.

I have been on MFP for 1195 days and I now weigh more than when I started by two pounds. Nobody to blame but me. Sigh.
