@mollyeliz00 welcome! You clearly haven't met me yet, I'm probably slower!5 -
Good morning all.
Got my usual 9k in. (3 more runs till I rest up for a week!)
@Fit2btied2016 - thank you! Can't wait for 3.30 to see/hear how he did!6 -
@tarun_yadavA can't wait to hear how it went!
I seem to be over the worst of my taper cold, thank goodness. Watch still claims I'm over-fatigued despite behaving more or less like a vegetable and eating way too much junk, but hey ho. I've been running short runs later in the day because the location of my race is usually hotter than down here on the coast, but just checked the forecast and it says 80% chance of rain. I hadn't factored rain in, better start thinking about that possibility. So nervous. So excited. So scared I'm going to die. So resisting signing up for a half on Nov 13th and a full marathon at the end of April until I see if I survive lol.8 -
Hi everyone!
He did it! No stopping. Placed 46 out of 206 kids!10 -
Yay! Way to go mini @tarun_yadavA2
-
No run today but I did a couple of virtual workouts this morning and will get a walk in at lunch.
@eleanorhawkins - You got this!! You've embraced the taper and you will do more than survive and if it rains I hope it's one of those light, refreshing ones that waits until you are almost finished.
Welcome @mollyeliz00! I'm a proud member of the slow runners club! A mile is a mile no matter the speed!
@Fit2btied2016 - That's scary about the fires and the smoke. I hope they are contained and that you get a nice, slow soaking rain. Hope you friend in the hospital is doing better.4 -

I don’t know if it was just me, but MFP was giving me issues logging in yesterday and earlier today.
This is yesterday’s run. Speed work. 5 x 1k @ 5k pace with 400m recovery. My splits were consistent but slow, about 40 secs slower than target (waaay off!). I put the workout in Garmin and didn’t miss any cues and it seemed like I was running in the range I set. I am wondering if I did some math wrong. The workout was written in km and I needed to convert the time targets in my plan to a pace for the Garmin reminders, so I used min/mile since that is a number that makes more sense to me. I probably messed it up. Initially I thought maybe I was just running too cautiously because it was raining throughout this run and the sidewalks were a little slippery in spots. And it was dark so even with my light I was working a little to dodge all the storm debris. I’m sure those things played a role, but math might have also been a factor. Oh well. I was still pushing it. I love these rainy runs. There was NO ONE out and it’s so quiet!
That storm was ahead of a lovely cold front. This morning it was low 50’s and beautiful! But it was my rest day, so no running. But, I had to be up early because my kid had theater rehearsal, so I took my coffee and went on a walk in the cool, crisp dark. It was like 6am and low 50’s is cold for Houston, so only saw 2 people out walking dogs but I heard an owl and saw a possum. I guess everyone else was waiting for the sun to warm everything up!6 -
8 miles this evening. I guess this was technically a speed day, so I did 8 miles at marathon pace. It did feel a little hard, but after that grueling 14 miler on Sunday that is not unexpected. But temps were very pleasant at 64F and low 17% humidity.7

@Scott6255 - well done on 8, bud! 🤷2 -

Morning all.
Woke up in the zone... Nice sugary chai... Legs didn't give any issues... So got in a 10K!
PS: @martaindale - thanks Sarah 😊6 -

Thanks Teresa, and thanks all. Yayy to the little Marathon-mini-champ! 46 is pretty impressive, considering! Something tells me he will be running more with his Dad for future events, lol.
.
@Fit2btied2016 thanks T! And hope you feel better soon

I ran 5 miles with a friend this morning. Temp read 37F on my car but it was breezy and felt much colder to begin. I ended up shedding my gloves and unzipping my jacket part way through the run.4

YAY! I had an excellent run! I think I finally found my running karma back. Well, kind of anyway. Still nowhere where I used to be (a wee bit faster only) but running is getting easier again. These 45 minutes were faster than all previous similar runs. Intervals 10min warmup, then fast with corresponding slow 2, 4, 3, 2, 3, 2mins, cooldown.6
