@martaindale Oh, how I miss target. Enjoy it for me, please .
It sounds like your weather is getting uncomfortable fast. I assume it wasn’t this hot when you ran your HM?
I hope you have a nice time in the hill country. It definitely seems like you guys could use a break to unwind and reconnect. I hope it’s a really nice trip.
@eleanorhawkins I also would leave out the weather part and if he doesn’t pack any rain clothes, just sneak them in.
@tarun_yadavA Nice run today!
@scott6255 Great job on the treadmill incline!
My watch suggested a VO2 max run today, so I complied. It was hard- 8x 2min intervals at 90% effort with 1 min recovery - especially when I realised at the turn around point that I had ran the first 4 intervals with a significant tailwind and now had to do second half against the wind. I ran 7.61km, bringing my March total to 78.6/175km.6 -
March Goal: 115 Miles
3/1: 5.06 miles
3/2: 5.51 miles
3/3: 2.15 miles
3/4: 2.02 miles
3/5: 10.1 miles
3/6: 5.1 miles
3/7: 5.27 miles
3/8: 1.05 miles
3/9: 5.27 miles
3/10: 3.17 miles
44.7/115 miles completed for March
It was chilly this morning but nit raining or windy. I just needed to run a mile for my streak, but I decided to run 5K instead. I hate to take the time to get dressed to run and then only run for 10 minutes or so.
@Martindale I am glad the school is being so helpful. I hope the break will help all of you.

A slow 5K today, per my running plan.4 -

Target is the absolute best. I would miss it if I didn’t have it anymore. And, no it was much cooler!

Morning everyone!
Got in a nice 7Miles today6 -
Succumbed.
(Not spoiler-ing that! lol)8 -
Busy day yesterday, so no time left for a run. Weather was miserable as well, so probably would not have enjoyed being outside in the sleet and rain. Worked all day (doing a lab, so the kids kept me busy walking all over the classroom to help), tutoring after school, quick dinner with husband before he went back to school to coach, then met with a friend who I haven't seen for a while. My friend and I met at the mall and walked from one end to the other several times (approx. 6000 steps according to my watch), so I was still moving, even if it was slow and I didn't track mileage.6

@martaindale I hope you enjoy the hill country and that your kid can de-stress some too. It's good that you are going there when you bring him home from the hospital. I would guess a change of pace would be nice for them too. It's great that the school counselor is being so helpful too.
Nice running @Laurz9191 !
Great run @tarun_yadavA . You're going to have to get up earlier on Saturday too, in order to miss all the tourists. Hahahah about not "spoiler-ing" the mini eggs. Fortunately, sweets, and Easter eggs, do not tempt me. If they are in front of me, I'll eat them, but I rarely buy them.
Nice busy, active day @ScienceofTeaching !

Ok page 8 already and I still haven't figured out my goal for Mar. 😳😱😏 Things are going pretty well and @tarun_yadavA inspired me to do a 7 miler today. 👏👏👏 Yesterday @kgirlhart inspired me to get my 5K in at lunch so I know that I definitely NEED all of you. LOL.
I am putzing around with the thought of trying to avg 5 miles per day for the month but 155 seems a REALLY high # to me. so we shall see.
Hmmm = no one EVER stops to offer me a ride.. I must look too mean when I am out and about or maybe I don't really go out in the nastier weather? 🤷♀️

March total: 33.4/100 miles
3/4: 13.2 miles
3/8: 4.2 miles
3/9: 4 miles
3/10: 5.1 miles
3/11: 6.9 miles
Today was a real struggle. I feel like maybe I didn’t adjust my paces for the conditions to the degree that I should have. After the first couple of miles I was having a hard time. Tired, not quite nauseated but also not not nauseated. Ended up taking some short walk breaks and really tried to slow down. I made it home but it was not a good run. I guess I’m glad I did it. This is a hard time of year for me as the temps rise quickly and I am coming off of training/racing. I have been pushing paces and working hard while it was cool and the shift to warmer temps and slower running happens so fast. My easy paces are quite a bit faster in the winter. Sometimes my legs forget I don’t do well in the heat.
I had entertained the idea of trying to get into a late afternoon/evening Pilates class. I have taken almost 2 weeks off now between prerace week and post race recovery and won’t be around next week, so 3 weeks without going. But, I just don’t know that it’s a good idea with how I’m feeling right now.6 -

@SummerSkier aww 7buddies today! 😊
(Though guessing you're not gonna waste most of the surplus calories on chocolate! 😳 )2 -
@martaindale I completely understand how you were feeling today, because I felt exactly the same.
It was a hot upper 60s afternoon by the time I got out. It was not my finest hour (or two) Started getting really tired around mile 8 and had to walk several times. As I was coming down the last street towards home, I saw someone end the end of the sidewalk that I was on. Thinking they would reach the end before I caught up with them I didn't bother crossing to the other side. As I got closer to the end of the street I realized that person was a tiny 1-2 year old barely able to walk down (fell down just before the alley), no parent in sight. I stopped and picked her up and asked where she lived, but obviously she couldn't talk. I picked her up and was about to go door to door when a guy comes running out of his house a couple houses down in a panic. He said they have been looking all over the place and couldn't find her. So it felt good to see them reunited.

30 degrees out, and I really didn't want to run today, but forced myself to anyway. Ran faster than lately because I wanted to be finished faster.... probably not my best choice, and I might be sore tomorrow. But at least I went outside and pushed myself! Really tough run from both the temperature and the speed. Even with my inhaler and a mask to help warm the air, the cold air made breathing tough. 2 miles total today. Reallg proud of myself for pushing through when I didn't want to.6

You're doing great @SummerSkier . I think you could totally do 155 miles with as much as you run.
You did great @martaindale . Sorry it was such a struggle for you. I joined you on that bus today.
Great job with your struggle run today too @Scott6255 . I'm glad all ended well with the little girl. That's so scary.
Great job pushing through today @ScienceofTeaching !
@Teresa502 I hope your race went well today!
Sounds like today was a struggle for a lot of us today. I as still kinda in a mood and not feeling the greatest, so wasn't sure what I would be able to do when I got started on the treadmill. I was going to try to make it to 30 minutes and go from there. Once I got going, it wasn't horrible....all a mental game today. I walked a total of 1.0 mile for warm up and cool down and then did a run/walk for 5.25 miles. Run/walk intervals were 4.2 - 4.7/3.8 mph for 4/1 min, 2 x (4.2-4.4/3.8 mph for 3/2 min), 4.2-4.3/3.8 mph for 4/2 min and ended with either 4.4 or 4.2 mph....I forget which I did. Average pace was 14:18 min/mile (4.2 mph) and my avg HR was 126 with a max of 140 bpm. So, total for the day was 6.25 miles.

I ran 2 miles this morning. It was pretty windy, but ither than that it was OK. It's supposed to be cooler tomorrow. Hopefully it will be nice for a long run.
Sorry you had a bad run @martaindale .
@Scott6255 I'm so glad everything turned out okay with the little girl.

Sorry to hear that so many of you had hard runs yesterday! Great job getting through it!
I got new running shoes yesterday! Yipppee! I had to try on 8 pairs to find a pair that fit my feet that wasn’t the same model I already had (brooks defyance). The ghost would probably have worked, but they only had a gore tex version and I couldn’t imagine running in hotter weather with water proof running shoes.
My left foot overpronates, so we found a neutral shoe that still offered me some more stability there. I guess no Hokas will be coming in my future if I don’t want to mess my feet, knees, etc. up. You can view the “winner” in the spoiler.Saucony Echelon
After buying the shoes, I went to a bachelorette party. So much for my no alcohol streak . I didn’t overdo it, but I did have some fun. This morning I had to test out the shoes, so I did an easy 8.1km on the hotel treadmill to break them in.
That brings me to 86.8/175 for March so far.

Morning Ladies! (And Scott!)
Got in a 10K.
Have a lovely rest of your weekend! 😊
PS: @Teresa502 - how did relay race go? Could see on main MFP feed you ran A LOT! did your sick friend run in the end?7 -
Nice streaking @kgirlhart !
Love the new shoes @Laurz9191 ! How did they feel on the treadmill run?
Great run this morning @tarun_yadavA , esp when you didn't sleep well.0 -
@quilteryoyo thank you 😊1

I did my normal Rest Day Sunday morning walk between church and lunch today. I had a little extra time, so walked 2.25 miles today.
The daycare director is off all next week, so I agreed to go in and help every day. But, I'm only working 11 - 5 so am hoping to be able to get up early enough to get in my run each morning before leaving. I may have to cut some of them short (from the plan), but am okay with that if I can get them done and do one other thing off of my to-do list before heading out. We'll see how well I do with that at the end of the week.5 -

I ran 10 miles today. It was a good run, but it was a bit chilly. It was 48°F feels like 45° at the start. I wore shorts and a T-shirt with sleeves. I thought I would end up taking the sleeves off, but I didn't. It wasn't terribly windy, but it was windy enough to be chilly. It is hard to believe we got up to 90° yesterday.

Great 10 miles @kgirlhart ! Supposedly it got up to 50F here today, but it has felt really cold to me all day. Yesterday, it felt a lot warmer when it was only in the 40s. Weird.0

Hello my friends! If anyone still remembers me - so sorry I dropped off completely for so long. I was kind of burned out and lacking motivation, and then life gets in the way and here we are. I am happy to see some of the familiar folks are still here and doing their thing. Thank you @shanaber and @quilteryoyo for mentioning me a while back (I see my notifications) and I appreciate that you thought of me.
My running has been suffering for months and I needed to take a break from logging miles or worrying about goals. The last couple of months I've mostly been running on the weekends with friends, but very little during the week. I feel every bit of that inconsistency and it gets harder and harder.
And now for a new challenge, I've been diagnosed with breast cancer and I'll be having surgery in a little over a week. I'll probably not be able to run for about 6 weeks. While I'm stressed and anxious about it, one little piece of me is thinking that this will be a fresh new restart. I have so many friends ready to walk with me and help me recover, and then slowly build back into running and hiking. I am almost looking forward to setting a race goal just as a motivator (like way at the end of summer or the fall). I checked in here because I hope that will motivate me to come back to this group and benefit from the support and inspiration.
I will try to read back a bit but I'm hopelessly behind in what you all are doing. I hope you are faring well through the winter and looking forward to spring (no sign of it here yet). Happy running to you all and thank you for still being here!13 -
I'm so sorry about your diagnosis @katharmonic, but I am glad you checked in with us. Keep us posted and we'll be sending prayers and good vibes.2

I finished week 7 of 16 of my 5K training plan.
Today's "long" run was the longest so far. It went well. I'm excited to feel a sense of momentum forming.

- March 5 - 1.86 miles
- March 7 - 1.68 miles

@katharmonic nice to see you! Sorry about the diagnosis but the sooner they deal with it the sooner it will be behind you. Onwards and upwards!3
-
Got a run in on Saturday morning before going swimming with my daughter. I managed 20 laps. I took yesterday off as I'd done 9 days in a row of running or bike and my hip joints were groaning. Hope to get out for a run today, the weather is awful & more snow showers tonight. Ah Well.
01/03 2.84 miles
04/03 2.56 miles
05/03 2.56 miles
06/03 3.03 miles
11/03 2.26 miles
Total 13.56/30 miles
@katharmonic - Great to see you back and Sorry about your diagnosis. You are a strong person and have the right attitude so I have no doubt you will beat it!
7 -
@katharmonic so sorry to hear about the big C 🤬 But glad you caught it early. Wishing you a speedy recovery 💟3
-
Morning all
Got in a 9K
@katharmonic Hi. Nice to meet you. I'm Tarun, from London.
Sorry to read about your cancer diagnosis. 😞Hope to see you running and posting here soon 💪3 -
@katharmonic Nice to meet you! Sending strong healing vibes your way! Hope to hear about your running/walking activities soon!
@quilteryoyo New shoes worked fine on the treadmill .
Today I had some speed intervals planned. 8x1 min max effort with full recovery between sets. They were fine, except that it was really windy, making some sets much harder/easier than others. New shoes did just fine. No pain or anything, but still wearing them in. I didn’t feel comfortable running with them through the mud puddles yet, so there was a fair amount of weaving on today’s run. I was in a pretty big time crunch, so I was very happy to get 8km in.
So far I have 94.8/174km for March.5
