Barbie, those iris are GORGEOUS! Thanks so much for the new, June thread. WOW... June. School ends in seven days.
You're welcome Rori. It's one I learned through MoMs. Unfortunately, we use it a lot in the military.

Not being home, but at my eldest sisters, I have decided to not be a faster and just eat the best I can. The last time I visited her it was last September. I was battling the pain of my sick gallbladder. So just nice I won't be in pain, or just generally miserable. I recall it was a lot of nightly pacing and just trying to deal.
My sister stated for the two weeks I will be there, on Mondays and Tuesday's she'll have her three granddaughters, (10, 8 and 5). So her son will drop them off on Sundays. I told my son it would be a good time to visit, as Athena will have playmates. I told son they have to come relax at my sisters homestead and 1875 home. My sister has a treasure chest and when they come, she hides it somewhere on the property. Then the kids drive the gator around and look for ut. So Athena will enjoy that adventure. Also my sister has a tree where fairies live, and she periodically puts letters in the mailbox that's by the tree, from the family of fairies. When I was there last, her husbands daughter, husband and their 4 yr old came for a visit. She was absolutely amazed that the letter was addressed to her! We will make a letter for Athena. I'm hoping they can come down, as its only 1.24 hours away from them.👍🏼
Cheers to a positive month ladies!

her place and what she does for the kids sounds perfect. Those kids will never forget those times.
I kind of gave my son an out, if wife has other plans she wants to do. I just stated that as it gets further into the month he can tell me yes, or no for the 11th or 12th. I said if they have other plans just let me know, no worries. I don't want him to feel obliged to come down. Their lives are so busy that their weekends are precious me thinks.

Snowflake1968 wrote: »Heather - we have access to therapy through work. Since I’m still an employee I am able to call them.
I have journaled in the past, that’s a good idea to start again.
Things aren’t worth much here either. One reason is the younger generation is not interested in all of the “stuff” we had. My daughter’s enjoy things but very different from what I had/have.
That was a busy morning, no wonder you are knackered.
When do you leave for your cruise?
Terri - I think if my DH went to get groceries, I would starve and it would cost twice as much. He has completely different tastes than I do.
Margaret - Very well said about the medical emergency. That is how I felt with my friend. I had been calling and trying to find help for her for quite a while before she finally threatened me and I was able to call 911 for her.
Lanette - you are doing so well at getting things cleaned up.
I think you are very smart not to do Marketplace and such living alone. These days it’s hard to trust anyone.
(I also watch way too much True Crime TV)
Rebecca - I hope you have a great visit with your sister. It sounds like, even though there will be work, it will be fun.
Oh I hope you son comes! It would be so great for Athena to meet cousins and I want to be your sister’s grandchild! What fun!
Mary - iPhones have the same thing with their photos I found out the other day. It is the little I in the circle at the bottom of the screen when you are looking at your photo.
Evelyn - your granddaughter and flowers are beautiful.
Pip - “vacation from retirement”. Love it! Have fun!
Rori - Hugs to you. I love Carla’s Angelversary term too.
Good luck to your team! It will be exciting working the games I bet!
Debbie - How long do you have to wait for results from tomorrow’s scan. That would be so hard for me.
I had a fairly quiet day again today. DH got the majority of the storage shed done. We will be putting doors on probably next month.
He is going to organize and clean up tomorrow. Those two huge logs are going to be benches he tells me.
I have an idea I want to run by him for our living room. I think it would be fairly inexpensive except for the new sectional I want.
We have a local second hand shop that sells paperbacks and soft covered books for $0.75 per inch. They stack the books up and measure. I like buying books there and then donating them back. It’s a non-profit and all money goes back into the community.
Anyhow, I stopped today to get a couple books for myself and they had children’s chapter books on sale for $0.25 each. I picked out 3 or 4 and went to pay. They will only take debit for purchases over 5.00 so I ended up getting both Grands 8 books each.
My total was $5.40 with my 2 books.
BP was still high tonight, I may have to call my doctor and see if I can get in earlier.
It will be interesting to see if it goes down on the weekend, when I’m not worried about any communication with work.
Tracey in Edmonton
The storage shed looks marvelous! Those logs are epic! I won't hold my breath them coming but I do hope they prove me wrong. My daughter inlaw isn't much for meeting new people, especially family. My son isn't great around new situations like driving out in the middle of nowhere and main street, but he does have GPS so it should be no problem. I asked them because I think all of them would benefit from the visit.

So I have 3 pairs of pants that I have been holding onto for about 2 years. Leave it to me to buy a size smaller than what I wear and use it for motivation...😒🙃🙄. I would have to have a major weight shift to get into them, and tonight while texting one of my pen pals we were chatting about clothes. Turns out she wears that very size, so when I return from my sisters, I will send her the 3 pair. Life gives you signs and I guess I have been holding onto them to give to her. Her 22nd birthday is this month too, so it will be a nice belated birthday gift. She calls me auntie Rebecca.💖

May was a good month for me. I managed to maintain, thanks to my Daily Solid Habits.
Settling into my new normal health wise. My follow up appointment is on 5 July at our local hospital. I am anticipating a clean bill of health.
Off out to Shakespeare Study Group after lunch. We are starting King Lear. I missed the last 2 meetings, so finished off Julius Caesar at home.
Our garden is well on its way to summer. Still working on summer planters, but we have decided that less is more this year.
Rebecca: I want to go to your sister’s house and get a letter from the fairies 🧚♀️ 🧚♂️ 🧚♀️ 😝
Tracey: 😍 Rodger’s plans for you shed. I hope you can get your BP under control. There’s not much problem sending DH for groceries. We usually do it together and we have a tick list. He does go for huge robust veg, rather than the smaller ones I favour, but that’s a minor issue in the scheme of things. Also he phones me on his mobile if he has any queries.
I have laundry to put away before I get ready to go out.
🤗 🤗 🤗 and 🙏 🙏 🙏 where needed, chickadees.

Awe, she would love to have you! She might be shy starting out, she's not like me, talking to anyone and everyone.🙃🤗, but she's sweet.💖

Hi gang. I’m new to your group so hopefully I’ll be up to speed soon on how things work here. MFP has changed a lot since I’ve been tracking on a different app so I’m relearning some of it.
I’m from Canada originally but live in Ireland now. Working on lowering my weight, and trying to be consistent with my activity. Lots of walking for me over the next few months. I look forward to following along with your posts and cheering you on to success in achieving your goals, whatever they may be 💕10 -

Hi Rhonda ... does 21 km indicate a half marathon?
I am also from Canada originally but I live in Australia now.
Machka in Oz0 -
Yes it indicates half marathon. I used to run them quite often. I'd like to change my name but MFP won't allow it.2

2. Say positive things in your conversations with others. Especially with Joe and T.
Welcome @Rhonda21km in Ireland! Lots of walking is key, imho.
Machka wow that’s windy!
Terri your garden/green house.
Betsy well done on the meditation and eye pressure. Safe travels.
Heather your meadow! Foxes, squirrels, doves, nature in the midst of the city Insects, not so much…
Margaret lovely flowers and glass.
Allie keeping Carmine and you all in prayer. So glad to hear the slide was found.
Welcome @DCResider! Well done on the weight training, cardio and upping the protein.
Rebecca that looks like a huge place for your sister to maintain. Tucker (and a letter from the faeries) would make me happy too! Well done, Auntie Rebecca!
Rita sorry you felt May was rough and suffered injuries. I see a lot of 100%s so there were many more successes than not and overall May’s cumulative percentage increased over April. Brava!
Vicki so upsetting about your new car. ((hugs))
Beth “…go ahead with the siding and see what falls out” Yikes!
Debbie “…smile, wave, say hello to each person I see on the walk. Makes my day a bit better.” That is what you can control. Well done!
@lightstrongma Happy June to you too! Would you let us know what you’d like to be called?
Lanette “bungee cords” the new duct tape. Hahahaha!
Ginny I admire your management style. Supervisors should supervise and not leave their staff hanging.
Barbie the “repeated” meme really resonated.
Pip your camp setup. Those are some lucky pooches.
Whoops, Joe’s up, time to scoot.1. Decide to look for what’s good every day this month. Blue skies.

I have been enjoying coding during the first 2 days of the month. That's been really good.
Also the 25 flights of stairs a day.

Chatted with a work friend about our gardens first thing this morning.
Smiled and thanked people as usual.
BTW - thanking the bus driver at the end of a trip is a thing here.

Machka - thanking the bus driver is a thing in our city too. People are nearly always kind and helpful.
I've got my gladrags on for our lunch. Face on.
This morning my son rang and asked if he could come over to our house to work. Edie is making him a birthday cake and doesn't want him to see it until tomorrow. So he is exiled! Obviously we are going out for lunch, so I have found him some gluten free rolls, cheese, and pickle. Cherry tomatoes. Should keep him going!
I, very hesitatingly, showed him the abstract painting I'd done for his kitchen, explaining that he was under no obligation to have it, but he really loved it! It may go somewhere else on the ground floor, but he definitely wants it.
All I have to do now is find a frame! It's a birthday present, although I have got him some gourmet edibles.
Love you all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx7 -
Found a frame! He's approved it. White wood.

Happy June ladies!
I am in a slump again. I'm worried about jury duty. I've been trying to get a doctor's note that says I have to take care of my mom, but the phone calls aren't connecting. I will go over there later today. Meanwhile I skipped exercise waiting by the phone. Oh well. Life happens.

Welcome Rhonda21km.
Heather we keep telling you... what's not to love. You're far too critical!
Went shopping for veil stuff last night with Lacy! OMG! I get to make her wedding veil. I'm so excited!!! EEEEEEEEEE!
LAST student Friday of the school year! WOOHOO
Love and Blessings, Carla, in MN8 -
Was so excited when I got out of work, just HAD to go in the pool. Sunshine...first time in a long, long time.
Rebecca – love what your sister does for those kids. I don’t understand, either, why Kyle would throw out the slide.
Allie – that booboo on Mile’s leg looks like it’s just calling out to be kissed and made all better. He’s a true peach. I’m so glad Tracey found the slide
Just went for a walk around the block. Hopefully, after dinner Vince will pack the car. I’m sure we won’t go for our walk
Barbara and Terri – same here, Vince is a terrible shopper
Vicki – how great that that guy came back. So sorry your car was hit, tho
Carol – I know this is rough...but it looks like you’re just going to have to come here to see the ceramics!! lol Update: I just tried to take pictures but they didn’t come out real good. Some of them came out very small.
Friday here: getting ready to go to Steve’s. Did a step DVD then went for a walk around the block
Rebecca – Sometimes I get so frustrated. I haven’t gained any weight in years. Always between 130 and 135. Have been for years. Today I’m down. But lately Mother Nature has been doing her thing and things are going south. Some of the pants that used to fit me, don’t. Only in the waist. Same with shorts. How frustrating! That’s so nice that you can and will send those pants to your friend
Rhonda – welcome
I’m still proud of myself that despite working, I still exercise just about every day. Even if it means just walking around the block. On the days that I don’t work, I usually do a DVD at home. <pat, pat>. I do find that I can get out of shape easier. But I also can get right back into shape easier. Like today I started sweating sooner than I used to. But my heartrate still came down fairly quickly.
Gotta get ready. Later lovelies

Had to change my Alaska travel plans. The road I use to get to my ATV has numerous washouts and is impassable. Breakup has been brutal this year because of the unusually heavy snowfall. The Dept of Transportation estimates it will be end of June or longer before the washouts will be repaired. So I called my sister and next week, she and I will begin a two week road trip to spread Jack's ashes in places he picked out. New plan is to head to Alaska on July 1.

Morning ladies
Heather- I knew he would love it...his mum painted it just for him,and both you and Johnny are very talented..
Well its going to be mid 90s today and 65 and cloudy tomorrow..They were supposed to go to the zoo tomorrow but Kyle has been in a cranky mood so thats a no go.. If it were me I'd let him stew and pack the car and the kid and go myself..the heck with him..
But thats me..
I had a 1/2 hr conversation with my brother on the phone he called me at 6 when I had just woken up
He is still up at the lake with Jean and a friend of their's and Jean had him out on the boat fishing so I got ,some one on one with Sean at least on the phone..
He almost burned the bacon lol
Miles is snoozing..and im going to try and get some cleaning some done this weekend.. I say that.. depending how I feel..2 -
Friday --
Another good day at work. I like quietly working with code.
Fortunately it wasn't windy so I got a walk in (about 3 km) + 25 flights of stairs (up and down and landings).
Similar to Michelle, I work almost full-time (9-day fortnight) and still exercise almost every day. On the days I work, I walk and climb stairs. On the days I don't work, I'll do other things like digging in the garden, lifting weights, cycling, running, rowing, etc.
I was doing Pilates once or twice a week during my work week for a while, and liked it, but haven't done much of that since COVID.
I've also cut back on what I eat, so I've been losing weight. Today, I wore a particular pair of jeans (casual Friday). The last time I wore them, they fit me just nicely - slightly loose. Today, on my walk, they were sliding down a bit!!
I've been relaxing this evening. I have a long list of things to do, but toward the end of the week, my motivation goes out the window. So, I spent some time colouring. Then I ordered art supplies. And then I've been processing photos while watching TV.
In a bit, I'll go lie in bed and read.
Here are a couple of my photos:
Rhody (our cat) and his friend who he watches through the window ...
A leaf insect on one of our hedges ...

1. Decide to look for what’s good every day this month. Today has started good. Son, still with migraine pain, went to work and that's a relief. And this morning I watched a doe and her spotted fawn in the back yard. The fawn was intrigued and frightened at the same time with a yard flag. Beautiful day here near Buffalo! Air pollutants will be heavy later this morning so I need to get yard work done early
2. Say positive things in your conversations with others. Used only positive language with my son this morning and will make an effort to do the same with everyone I come into contact today.
Lanette ... a year already? Doesn't seem possible.
Rori ... I don't watch the NBA either but I am rooting for your Nuggets! Yay on their first win!

Returning newbie, my name is Michelle from upstate NY, turning 55 in 1 month, 🤦🏼♀️. Have been going nothing but up on the scale. It’s time to take back my life, made a promise to my dad on his death bed to get healthy and that was in December. For once in my life I am excited to start this journey and look forward to this group8

Welcome to all the newbies!
Finally getting some much needed rain and garden is now starting to germinate. Happy with that as it is a lot of work to plant. I don't water my garden and rely on rainfall. Barley is coming up now and can see all the rows. DH is happy about that.
A couple of days ago, a small dog showed up in our yard. DH thought it was our neighbor's dog. I was able to catch her and drove over. Unfortunately, not their dog. They said she had shown up at their place a couple of days ago and was seen in with the cattle herd. They had tried unsuccessfully to catch her and had last seen her making her way towards our place.
I think someone has dropped her off in our area. Such a cruel thing to do. We have lots of coyotes and the only thing that saved this little dog was the fact she was in with a cattle herd. Taking her to our vet next week and will get her checked over and vaccinated. Have called our county pound to see if anyone has reported her missing. No one has so someone decided to throw a dog away....so sad!
She is settling in nicely with our dog, Buddy and the cats. Looks like a terrier mix. Small dog weighing maybe 10 pounds at the most. Vet will be able to determine her age but I think she is quite young. Guess we have an addition to our furry animal family. She is such a sweet little dog.
Enjoy your day, ladies.
