I need to talk about issue with so. But only short version. He met a girl that ended up getting him held against his will by a violent gang in a city.
I am so worried. Talked to him this morning and he is scarred witless. So am I.

Rita (((HUGS)))) I hope and pray your son is safe now.

Last night I browned ground beef, some for husband's hamburger helper last night and my tacos today. I sauted some sweet onion, 2 white mushrooms in a 1/2 T of butter. Added diced tomatoes, black olives, a handful of ground beef and a drizzle of taco sauce.
I used Everything salad mix (without the dressing and croutons). Added sour cream, salad mix, cheddar cheese and a drizzle more taco sauce.
It was heaven, and full of so many flavors. My tacos don't hold a candle to Taco Bell tacos!😁😂
This is my one meal a day plan. I may have strawberries with cream later.
Have a good day ladies!

Rita, no wonder you are worried sick. Hugs and prayers.
Commenting on being honest in job interviews re Vickie’s post. When I graduated high school, I needed a summer job. Back in the early 1970s, there were few retail and no fast food type jobs. The biggest employers were sewing plants - skilled, production driven jobs. Everybody told me to not tell them I was going away to college in the fall. They asked. I could not lie. I said I would be leaving mid-September. Well, it turned out there was a new law that required clothes to have care labels. None of the sewing machine operators had done it before, so it was going to take some practice. The plant manager figured it would take the 3 experienced operators he planned to put on this task about 3 months to be able to get up to production. Meanwhile, they needed 4 and he wouldn’t have to worry about laying me off or finding me something else to do. Win-win. I have always been a fan of honesty, even if it means not getting the job.
Re controversial topics: yes, I would say weight loss can be as, if not more, controversial than religion or politics. We do a good job in this thread of being supportive. Before joining here, I was a member of a popular program’s online discussion board. I won’t say the name but it recently changed to just two letters. Talk about mean girls and people with opinions! It was vicious!

Pip - Happy 21st! Y'all look so happy together, so pleased you found each other.
Rita - I'm so sorry, I know that was just terrifying to hear. Hope that the situation with your son resolves peacefully and soon.
Barbie - Thanks for sharing why you don't frequent the group; I think it's important that everyone here reads from someone they respect that it's just not everyone's cup of tea.
I have always thought that people's ability to share what has worked for them in terms of weight loss, exercise, successful lifestyle changes, etc. is the bedrock value of this group. Instead of saying "you should," do this that or the other, we tend to say, "I did," this or that and it worked (or sometimes didn't work!). That lets folks take what works for them and not feel chastised or unsupported. It's an important distinction.
Anyway, still tired today... dealing with the VA is much like trying to teach a pig to sing. Wastes your time and annoys the pig. While I am and always have been grateful for the medical care in return for my service, their absolute inability to cope with two appointments in one day without fouling it up is a teentsy bit frustrating. I do try to see the humor in most situations, but occasionally, it has to be in hindsight.
Did get the telederm appointment results and the two representative images sent were diagnosed as not an issue at this time. Relieved at that. No more doctor appoints until the cardio guy on the 10th. A couple weeks off of this merry-go-round will be nice.
Later, y'all,
Love,
Lisa8 -
My dad must have been smiling down from heaven to day seeing his great grandson running around at the beach he grew up going to ,and where we used to go for ice cream ,so the tradition continues
Tracy just sent me the picture of my dad standing at the beach ,and the one of Miles made me tear up.

Ok my yummy strawberry shortcake.💖. The short cakes were just the recipe from the Bisquick box. I splashed some ACV into the sliced strawberries for a zing. There's cayenne pepper and honey in the ACV.💖🍓. The whipping cream was homemade. All on my mommas plate. It made me happy.
Done eating for the day until tomorrow at noon.

Heading to mom's for the weekend- her 80th birthday-
Will check in Monday.
Have a great weekend
Debbie
Napa Valley, CA8 -
DD is home from Africa a little early. They were unable to swim with the sharks at Capetown due to weather so she decided to come home. I am glad to have her back but had to take her to acute care yesterday. Her eye was painful and swollen and she could not wear her contacts. They diagnosed a sty on the inside of her eyelid and put her on antibiotics. It is good she has a couple of days yet before she has to go back to work.
Lanette - I am having the same problem you are, the grass is not growing nearly as fast as the dandilions.
Pip - Happy anniversary! Love the pictures.
Heather - sounds like your cruise is off to a great start.
It is now officially summer in the northern hemesphere so hope you all enjoy it.
Sue in WA6 -
Pip-pics of you and Corey over the years are so cool.
Lisa-glad your tests are ok so far and you are looking at a break. I will say my Endo at OSU is very good at getting scans scheduled for the same day I am going to see him. I will have morning ct scans at the Stephanie Spielman breast center (part of OSU and who had opening at time I needed). ( I do like going there because they have Hope's Boutique and they sell really cool jewelry and other things-money goes to support cancer research.) Then I run up to his office and get results. Of course, sometimes I can read results online before I see him.
Allie-I can understand why those pictures would make you tear up!
Rebecca-strawberry shortcake looks wonderful!
Sue-hope meds kick in for DD quickly. Stys can be very painful. I always worry about eye things.
Well, didn't sleep well last night. Heading into bed now. Want a good night's sleep-tomorrow is packing and getting house cleaned before I leave early Sunday!
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio (soon to be Arizona)6 -
Tracey – is the lady at your ceramic place thinking of starting charging or registering? How wonderful for Kaitlin! You know what would be real cool for your “outhouse” (I have no idea how you’d do this) is to somehow get a recording that says “it’s dark in here” or something like that. Like I said, I have no idea how this can be done. How frustrating no letter! Hope you get it soon
Ginny – I ordered a pair of pants from Amazon. I was so excited they had a gray in my size. However, when I got them there was a rip in them. So I sent them back. Now they’re out of stock and Amazon doesn’t know when or if they will ever be in stock. At least they’re honest. I did find a pair of gray pants at the Salvation Army, hope they continue to fit. Sometimes I think when I try them on that they fit but when I get them home, I find that they really don’t fit. Well...not that I’m out a lot of money
Anne – my jaw is better than it was yesterday. This morning at least I could brush my teeth. But it’s still not the way it usually is. Guess it’ll just take time
barbie – lots of times I trim my own bangs but get my hair trimmed at the cosmetology school with the local community college. A lot cheaper. Occasionally I will go to the hairdresser, but lots of times I just can’t see spending the money (cheapskate about some things that I am)
Allie – oh, Carol is so right. Miles would just love a petting zoo. Lovely pics, totally understand you getting teary eyed
pip – since you make your own playlists, where do you get the music from? How CAN you forget your anniversary????? You two make such a handsome couple. Happy Anniversary
Lanette – I’m very impressed with how well you are doing despite not having your hubby. I hope I never have to do that, but if I do, I hope I’m as good as you are
Cut the grass today then had to take a shower just to cool off. Would have gone in the pool but it was too late. But I will be able to go in tomorrow Went down to the dollar store to get freeze dried fruit. Just like a change of scenery when I take my walks
Rita – HUGS and more HUGS
Debbie – happy birthday to your mom

Lanette, one of the things I've learned is that many of my problems are of my own making, brought on by negative thinking and the more I change my thinking the better I feel. Our Subaru is 2017 with barely 20,000 miles on it. If I were alone, I'd drive it forever, but because I share my life with Jake, we'll be selling it soon and buying a Tesla. There are benefits and burdens to sharing one's life with a partner and car ownership is one of the biggest.

Back from the movie ..80 for Brady.. it was funny and cute.. I will have to see book club the first one before I see the second one thats just out now.
Going to sleep now..

Good evening ladies!
Today I ate 1163 calories. Yay! And I did thirty minutes on the bike, and an hour of yoga, and thirty minutes of aerobic walking. Yay! My deficit for today is 455. Yay!
It's day 8 of my sister challenge. I'm eating under my limit only about half the time, but I don't go over by much. I'm down four pounds this week, so I must be doing something right!
Annie in Delaware8 -
@pipcd34 ... Happy Anniversary!
@cityjaneLondon ... looks like you're having a nice trip.
@SophieRosieMom ... can you google your vehicle and see what issues you might expect?
Regarding Music & Playlists ...
I have hundreds of CDs which I've ripped onto an external hard drive and have organised into categories. In fact, this afternoon, I've started ripping another stack of new (used, 2nd hand) ones I've recently acquired.
I use one of my laptops to connect to my stereo via bluetooth, and the main external hard drive is connected there. From there I create playlists to play on our stereo so that I can have music going throughout the day.
I've also got copies of music selections on one of my other laptops, on my phone, on my husband's laptop and phone, etc. so that we can have music going whenever we like.
Regarding My Elbow/Arm ...
I've been to a nurse practitioner at an after hours clinic, and she thinks there is a good chance I've fractured something so she is sending me for X-rays. I will have to wait till Monday for those. Meanwhile, I've got a compression sleeve. It could still just be a bad bruise, but the fact that the pain has continued for a few days now, and my inability to straighten or completely bend the arm means it is a good idea to get the X-rays.
