I walked in the garden with DH, who said hello to a friend, and came back indoors where it is cooler. It was hot out there & we were happy to be inside where it is cooler thanks to air conditioning. 😊

Good afternoon ladies!
Today I ate 1289 calories. Not too bad for a Sunday, but I did have larger portions than I intended. I rode my bike for twenty five minutes and walked for thirty minutes, yay! And my deficit is a mere 47, but again it's Sunday, which is my rest/active recovery day.
I read that cycling doesn't improve bone density. Another reason to try jogging a little bit. Someday.
We are expecting a major thunderstorm. It keeps
getting darker, but no rain yet.

Diana – welcome! Aren’t frozen grapes fantastic? I like the red ones
Rebecca – my waffle iron makes small waffles. I make like 6 at a time and just put them in the refrigerator. Try putting your waffle in the microwave for a little bit (maybe a minute on a lower power setting) and then in the toaster. I tried this last time and the center came out soft while the outside was crunchy, like when you first make them.
Allie – hope you’re better fast. You need to get better for your cruise! Update: glad the x-rays didn’t show anything bad
Beth – how scary that must have been to see! Glad your son is better now
Went in the pool then walked around the block. Had to leave for church so didn’t get to go back in the pool. Probably will be able to tomorrow. Vince is talking about cutting the grass Tues. since we have the Newcomer pool party Saturday. Update: I have an eye MD appt Tues. afternoon, so it may be Tues night or during the day Wed. since we have to go to the ceramics studio to pick up Vince's tree trunk. That's also the last day they will be open. I'll need to make the pie for the gal on Tuesday, probably before the eye MD or maybe at night, I don't know, whatever works into the schedule.
Anne – I HATE underwire bras. Hate with a capital “H”. I won’t buy one.

Nice! Yep I nuke for 30 sec then in toaster on lowest setting. These are frozen waffles really huge!
I tend to eat them more like a slice of toast than a waffle. Yesterday I used Bisquick mix and make banana bread. Just sugar, egg, oil, mix, and vanilla. Came out really good.

My two bananas that I were waiting patiently to over ripen, did, so I added them to 2 eggs, 1/4 cup oil, 1/3 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1/4 cup milk, 2 cups + 2/3 cups Bisquick mix. 350' for 30 minutes in my mini loaves pan. Made 8 loaves. So yummy!
I cut and warmed one up this morning with a smear of butter and honey. Happy.
Eating my tomatoes with most every meal. Today was putting a slab atop a toasted bagel with garden herbed cream cheese. Glue of the Gods is what I call it.😂

Keep the pretty photos coming. Enjoy seeing each and every one. Heather, that Bea💖. I remember when she was a baby! And her older sister with Dad, priceless. I agree with Lisa, they are two peas from the same pod.💖3 -

And hoping this junk goes away pretty soon.5 -

Well, I have maddest until 8! I was up at 4 and have been going pretty much all day. Have around 15,000 steps in (2 days in a row), and over 6 miles total. Figure on Saturday and Sunday I will try for 4 mile walks; Monday, Wednesday and Thursday I go into office so just a quick 2 miles before work and Tuesday and Friday when I work from home try to 3 miles.
Realized this afternoon (right before family came over) today is 8th anniversary of DH death. No real emotions this year. I did randomly sit down this am and start looking for hummingbird tattoo ideas (I want one in his memory). So guess I was remembering just not living through active grief. Sent basic idea to DS who will forward to tattoo artist. Want it to be about same size as my penguin and same placement on left forearm. Keeping with black/gray. Hope to get it done in the next few weeks. Of course, I'll probably pay for son to get some work done too. Don't know if DIL will get any while pregnant or not-guess there really is no reason why she couldn't. Well-that's her call.
Have lunch packed, stuff ready for work. Going in to watch a show or two and get some rest. Concerned about brother-his memory and walking are getting worse but he is more with us than not so will just enjoy him as we can.
Take care all,

M Some of the suburbs are under restrictions. Last year they went to even odd days. Might happen yet.1

Barbie - Michele - one reason I got chickens is that I got tired of throwing away produce. The recycle crew either eat it or scratch it into nice bedding. Better than going in the garbage can. This afternoon they got a golden kiwi that had been hiding in the fridge. They ate it, skin and all.
Ginny - way to go with the walking.Seems it wasn't that long ago, after covid, it took you a while to get your energy back. Now look at you!
Ginny - Barbie - Pip - Heather - Machka and you other walkers out there - what kind of shoes are you wearing these days? I'm in a fairly new pair of New Balance with Powerstep insoles. My right foot has been bothering me - I think when I broke my baby toe a year ago I might have done a little other damage. I hadn't been wearing the Powerstep in my right shoe, but I'm going to. I put them in tonight.
I've been using the Bob & Brad resistance bands to do some upper body work - rowing, back exercises. What I like about them is that I'm also working my core - as I lean in (or out) more of my body is engaged than if I was just using free weights. They have some good demo videos. I still like free weight for bicep curls. And using ankle weights for legs. I might change as I become more familiar with the bands.
Pip - this one's for you.

Awwww, I’ve seen those2 -
Heather - Busy week ahead. I hope you get some down time too.
Bea is looking more young lady in that photo. They grow so fast.
I truly insulted Michaela yesterday by calling her a “litttle girl” she decided she is a “medium girl”. 😂
Congratulations to your son!
Terri - I need to adopt your little habits.
Ginny - that will be nice to have some bigger items taken out.
That’s a good plan for walking. I need to get back to my walking for my weight and my stress.
I bet you’ll find a beautiful hummingbird to honour your husband.
Katla - I’m happy to read you enjoying your home more now.
Margaret - I wouldn’t want to be responsible for anyone else’s gardens. I barely take care of my own. Good for you saying no.
Lisa - thank you. I have been giving myself time to heal. It’s slowly coming. I still don’t know if they are going to pay me as they should be or not, but I have a plan if they don’t so that has helped. I’m trying to spend some relaxing time each day. I knew I was stressed, I didn’t know how much it was affecting me.
Congratulations to you and Corey on paying off your house. What an accomplishment.
Machka - good luck on the hunt for shoes. I haven’t liked the styles in the last few years at all.
Lanette - All of your little movements probably help a lot. That’s how generations before is stayed healthier I imagine.
Rita - I’m sorry to read your son is making poor choices again. My eating is terrible right now as well. The heat and stress are not good here either.
Beth - I hope they can get to the bottom of your sons migraines. As someone that had to schedule and make sure staffing needs were met I understand how difficult it is on that end. As an employee that has had to work through a migraine I know how difficult it can be.
I love cheesecake!
We went to a birthday party today for this cutie. After the party there were water balloons and splash pads.
It was a small party. Her Mom is my 1st cousin’s granddaughter, I babysat her and her brothers for 2 years. Her youngest brother was there as well. I haven’t seen him in probably 20 years. Their parents both passed in the last 4 years. They are so young to be without parents, it’s nice to see them together.
I took the Grands home afterwards. Michaela will be back on Tuesday for two nights. I am taking her to ceramics camp.

HOKA trail running shoes. Love them. Wish I could wear them all the time.
My next favourite footwear are my boots. I wear them at least half the year. I have a pair on today.

Took Farley for a walk yesterday morning he was much better. Came home and did my strength training video. I increased the weight from 2bs to 5lbs. Made it harder but still doable. Then I started to tackle the garage. Wow we simple have too much stuff. Had an awesome day for my stats. 11,359 Steps, 3 Floors and 81 Zone Minutes.8

BETH ~ Thinking of you as the news reported heavy flooding in NY. Hope you and your family are safe.
LANETTE ~ Your exercise with bands sounds great. My core is where I need to do the most work. I tried doing chair sitting exercises on Youtube last week that are supposed to trim the core and those seem to be what messed up my ankles.
I so admire all of you who take long walks and exercise!
