Machka-That song, #16 on your list, was featured prominently on the TV series, The Big Bang Theory. I easily sang the tune in my head when I read that.

I know! It's a show we watch just about every evening.
We got Rhody from a cat adoption place. We suspect he came in as a kitten, and then went out to a foster home to help with socialisation, and then was up for adoption. He was adopted but a few weeks later, he was returned, and was at the adoption place for a while before we adopted him. He was 7 months old and showing signs of anxiety when we adopted him. But we suspect that at some point in there, someone sang "Soft kitty" to him to try to help him with his anxiety.
When I started singing it to him shortly after we adopted him, he reacted like he had heard this song before and settled down. I've continued singing it to him quite regularly for the past 3.5 years.

Hello Barbie 💃 I hope I will be able to keep up but popping in from Ireland to say hi to everyone ☘ I was 52 about a month ago and back to restart my MFP journey so far I have managed to get back on track and lose 35.4lbs but quite a bit still to go 🙈
I'm a doggie mum to 3 pooches Penny, Gypsy and Sadie and kitty mum to my wee Oscar 🐾 Fun fact at 51 I decided to restart rollerskating lol recycled teenager not skated since then but I manage to stay upright and that's an achievement in my book 🤣

Heather - I don’t think the term I found was what you meant. 😂
Glad you are feeling a bit better. Love your artwork.
Barbara - I wouldn’t want livestock either, I admire those that take care of things. I don’t want that responsibility.
Absolutely love The Eagles.
Lanette - I turn in circles quite regularly when I’m dancing around my house. I do need to get better strength though.
Machka - Those honey pictures are cool!
You have brilliant advice. Love the Soft Kitty story.
Kelly - is your son or son in law handy that they could help with some of the repairs.
We need a lot done but we are scared of where it may lead if we start.
I’m so happy for you that you have interviews lined up. What a relief.
Rodger and I work well on projects if we each have a specific task that doesn’t necessarily need to be done together. We can get through the things together but it’s not fun for either of us. I especially hate having to hold boards while he cuts. I will do anything to get out of that!
Ginny - I have applied for EI, they need to process my ROE and final pay before I find out if I’m approved.
Michele - happy you had a nice visit with Denise and PJ.
Pip - Happy Meeting Anniversary to you and Kirby.
I made another paper project today. I am envisioning several variations of this for different seasons. I may try to make some to sell.
Then I went to our daughter’s to make pickles. I will bring some home after the kids are sealed properly. I don’t eat them but apparently can make some good ones. We’ll see these weren’t actual “pickling” cucumbers.

Today’s gratitude: fiber. Just sayin’
Channeling my inner Rebecca, added chicken, cabbage, snow peas, green onions and peanuts to Dr. McDougall’s Pad Thai soup for first meal (instead of oatmeal and veggie breakfast sausage). Couldn’t eat it all, so had leftovers for snack after dog group. Think it helped me minimize the planned indulgence of wine, bread, cheese and chocolate this evening.Machka that is some rich looking honey! Sorry to hear the girls have moved on. Hope the new scouts settle in. “…But I didn’t need to be that perfect.” Sounds to me like you were clear on your priorities and successful overall. Singing soft kitty to yourself at work? Bet it helped with that difficult code!
Lanette funny you should mention turning in circles. One of this mornings dog game challenges was to walk in a circle around your dog, tossing treats in to the dog when she turned to/approached you. Then speed up, continue treating for turning to you, then change directions. Yah, I got dizzy. ;} Likewise yours about dairy. Since foregoing my daily Greek yoghurt or cottage cheese breakfast for oatmeal my digestive issues have completely cleared. I still indulge in a bit of cheese, but no more than an ounce and a half, and not every dayWhen I first cut into a bell pepper, I often sneeze and sometimes my ears itch
but eating them causes no other issues.
Katla does your tummy bother you when you have cottage cheese for breakfast?
KJ we knew you’d be in high demand. Sorry the gunk is hanging on. IMHO dairy is a more likely suspect than coffee…
Lisa math saves the day, and the dollars…Joe and I have always wisely worked separately except for those rare occasions when one needs another hand. Not Joe’s fault. I should have come with a Tshirt that read “Does not play well with others.”
Pip can see how making cookies would burn more calories than just making oatmeal, until they started jumping into my mouth like Annie’s and Betsy’s chocolates. If you dread training for and running the half marathon, why do it? Very happy meeting anniversary to a very handsome couple!
Annie if your dad just thought he’d paid the bills, could you gently ask “can we just check? To avoid any late payment charges?” Or would he get defensive?
Betsy Ditto. Amazing how far those chocolates can jump.
Heather that’s a very pretty lamp but dreadful difficult design to maintain. Really admire your artistic endeavors. And your wisdom in waiting for the urge to paint walls passes. Same here.
Ritathe pics but most of all your smiles.
Cindy good game!
Ginny safe travels!
Carol why didn’t you like the Jeep?
Rebecca oh that pic of Athena and Eli! Precious.
Michele what good PJ news!
Barbie “life’s opportunities for spiritual growth” makes me smile. Admire how you can see those opportunities and grow from them.
Welcome @ChellieIrish Chellie in Ireland and congrats and taking off 35 lbs.
Tracey we too need repairs and are scared of where it may lead. Monday a contractor will replace 3 panels of siding on the front of our house but I’m afraid when he removes the rotted ones he’ll find more insect and water damage in the underlying structure. At least the weather is forecast to continue dry.09/16: Move: 2 sets PT w/D, dog group, dogs to powerline. Steps:6135
Fuel: sugar in vs mfp=37 CI<CO net=401
Live: Joe, readings, BP, AD, ptT. ptS. Wt:129.9
Later, lighter, lovelies!
Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMOD
September: Move more, fuel better (less sugar), live mindfully with people, dogs, open heart and mind before mouth. Never miss an opportunity to keep the mouth shut!
2023: Be of good cheer.

Tracey - I think your Cri-Cut work is very impressive and professional. It is really hard to monetise these things, as you know.
Have you thought about giving some small classes in your home? Just an idea. It would require advertising locally of course, and asking around. Or, now you have a teaching qualification, you could see if a local college wants to run classes. Just musing......
I've sent you the Instagram post I used for the tiny squares painting. It's something you could easily do with your granddaughter.
I also think they would make great home decorating pictures, in a set of colours toning with the furnishings. Or seasonal colours theme. It was quick and fun to do.
Of course, a lot depends on the framing of these things. A good frame can totally change a picture. Some bargain shops have decent cheap frames.
Strangely, I don't put many pictures on my walls. I like blank spaces, I have a couple of things in the dining room and in the downstairs toilet, and one in the hall. We have the batik in the living room. A Matisse cut out propped up in our bedroom, and a couple of my very old efforts in my bathroom. So we now have a huge pile of our paintings!!! Nothing framed or on the wall. One I gave away I painted for my son, which is going in his living room, and the beach hut one for my brother, which I will give him at the wedding. Only six months late!
Keep thinking we should have an informal exhibition and sell some, if anyone wants to buy them. Going cheap!!!

Heather: I know what you mean. The idea of the upheaval involved in decorating and DIY is rapidly losing its appeal. As we grow older, everything takes so much longer. Even pulling out the kitchen steps is often too much trouble. 😝 Maybe there is a local craft market or car boot sale that you could use to sell some of your work?
Tracey: That is a beautiful arrangement. With that sort of quality, the workshop idea could be worth thinking
about.
We have rain forecast for a few days. Damp and dismal! Ugh! May have to put the heating back on for a couple of hours a day.
We are going to visit DED after lunch, and may be picking up DEGS on the way there. DYGS is due to fly back to Uni in England shortly.
Tomorrow I have Creative Writing and Monday Painters. I have 3 new painters so am doing a watercolour workshop with them at the minute. Quite enjoyable , but a little draining too 😝
Welcome to our new folk. We’re a busy group, so don’t try to answer every post. Just jump in when something sparks your interest.

Honey-coloured honey.
It is rich! Definitely not your run-of-the-mill supermarket honey.

Set up one wall with corkboard, so you can do a rotating display.

Barbie-the cyst story explains a lot! It is always strange when an internal infection appears. I am glad they were thorough. Doesn't sound like much could have been done to prevent it.
Pip-happy meeting anniversary. So sweet of Kirby to remember.
So my challenge is to hem some slacks. That may sound silly to many of you but I hate having to cut material to hem and I hate paying the money for it (since the hem charge can be as much as the slacks). Taking it slowly, one step at a time and I will succeed! Mind you-I have no clue when I will finish!
Take care all,

I used to do it the quick way.
Fold and staple!
These days, I can't find slacks long enough.

Machka - we rotate our display in the dining room. It's nice to see the colours. They are just propped up. I don't want anything permanent. I like bare walls.
In our last house there was a blackboard, and I used to blutak photos of the grandchildren on it. Then I decided it looked too untidy.
I had a great victory today! For the last weeks I have been deaf in my right ear. I've been using drops and occasionally syringing, but only got flakes out. I've carried on with the drops and today I had another go at syringing. Hooray!!!! Splendid results and I can hear again. Everything is very loud, even the toilet flush.
My parents both had very waxy ears, so I've inherited it.

New here and love seeing the support and friendship you all have developed. I hope I’m not intruding - just looking for same. 65 years old and needing to lose and get healthier. At least that’s the plan 😉. Breast cancer survivor since 2013 and recently Melanoma found early. That one surprised me, but all is good. I’m also married and “Nana” to 5 grandchildren.9

Im trying to do lower carb but also cant overdue on protein because of kidneysI understand the challenge. Jake is eating low carb and has to be careful of both potassium and sodium so meal planning takes a lot of time. Best wishes to you on this new eating adventure.

If you hem pants with duct tape, they will go through the wash okay several times!
Michele so glad you had a good visit with PJ.
Pip you guys look so happy together!

Welcome to the new people. I had breast cancer in 2008. Chemo etc.
Lunch was great. The two girls had been doing Cyclocross in the morning. Bea came second, despite falling off twice. Unfortunately, Edie lost her chain twice. So no placing. My son was so knackered he could hardly speak. He has twisted his ankle, just stumbling in the street. He has weak ankles from previous injuries. I hope he rests this afternoon.
DH paid for our two pizzas and our drinks, plus the kids' drinks. I think they appreciated it. Drinks are so expensive, they usually just have water.
DH now off for a short walk. He has a sore throat.I am going to have a nap, but can't put earplugs in because I'm expecting a few things from Amazon.

Welcome. Each of us was new at one time and we just kept coming back. I hope you will join a conversation that interests you or share more about yourself. I am 77 years old and found MFP some years ago and have gotten to know these great ladies. They have helped me take off and keep off the pounds that bothered me.

Annie-I believe duct tape can hold darn near anything. The sewing isn't my insecurity-it is cutting off excess material and measuring!4
