Today’s gratitude:found vehicle bill of sale form on OR DOT website so Joe doesn’t have to go online  or into the office; DDS forms received in email.
Perfect weather for planting the last of the violas. Cool (high 60’s) but calm so sun felt warm on my back. Calm and pleasant for dog group too. Enjoyed it as front coming in soon bringing blustery gales and atmospheric river. Not complaining, we really really REALLY need the rain.
Machka “thinking about shoes” helps you to sleep? Con VERY grats on the 15lbs and smaller size!
Rosemarie glad your donut helped you with energy, they just put me to sleep. ;}
Lisa imho clearing the area, moving trunks and countertops around counts as resistance work. Barked with laughter at the hammer “this is not..” meme.
Betsy what you said about feeling connected to the women in this group. Amen, sister, amen.
Rita Fingers X’d for Monday’s appointment specialists’ followups.
Lanette I use Dawn on the salad dressing spots I get on EVERY top I wear. Not fond of its scent so use Palmolive’s Aloe with Citrus on the dishes
Barbie ((hugs)) too soon. ((hugs))
Debbie how did you get that blister?
Heather Edie looks so chic and French in her new jacket. Well done!
Allie love the pop up rocket and Miles’ pjs. I’m yawning already
Katla hope the hummingbirds stick around awhile before they migrate away.
Tracey Rodger timed that installation just right

We will have fun ,we usually do.7 -
Rebecca: Although I have an eating ‘schedule’ it’s based on food I like. I don’t see the point in eating anything I don’t like. DH loves a Sunday roast so I buy one big enough to give us main meals for four days. The menus change according to the type of roast.
Having the menu schedule makes shopping a dawdle as I have my own printable tick list based on what we need, with spaces for occasional additions.

Lisa - your room rearrangement looks great - lots more room and the price was right. I remember what the house was like when you first bought it and moved in - you and Corey did a wonderful job.
Machka - what a thrill to pull on clothing that is surprisingly too big. Well done!
Barbara - I too love being able to find documents or do various license renewals online on our county and state websites. Sure saves a drive to town and beats standing in line somewhere.
Tracey - that new door will be very nice. I noticed I can see daylight near the side of my back door in a couple places - there's a full length glass storm door on the outside which I think helps a little. But, I need to add weatherstripping to my shopping list though. Thanks for the reminder.
Heather - love the photos of your grands. Edie's new leopard coat it so cute and fits her so well. The photos of the cakes made me hungry. Agree with your take on living life today and not putting off, doing things you enjoy that make you feel alive! I solved some of the clutter problem on end and coffee tables by using little cheap baskets and tossing items in them. I do need to go through them soon and see what's sifted to the bottom.
Going to get early morning shopping done this morning, then do some problem solving on the chicken feeder situation. We had a heavy downpour yesterday and the tarps over their run did a great job, a little rain dripped in around the edges. But I have their little feeders attached to the fencing there, so water dripped in them too. I either move the feeders which will involve carpentry skills, or put more of a rain barrier along the fence there. Construction plastic? I need to dig around in DH's wood and paneling collection. I may swing into Home Depot this morning and grab some plastic corrugated roofing, it's good to have on hand anyhow. Their great employees cut those 8' panels in half which fit just fine in my Subaru.
Ladies, I am not looking forward to the time change on Nov. 5th. Right now I am in bed between 7:30 and 8 pm, getting up at 2 or 2:30. So in a little over a month, I'll be up at between 1 and 1:30. I'm on the chicken and dog and bathroom schedule, lol. BUT I'm super grateful I don't have to adjust to a work schedule and can sit down for a nap whenever I feel like it.
Check-in reminder - those of you who want to be included in tomorrow's "Check-in" please send me your info today or first thing tomorrow morning.
Make it a fabulous day!

This morning I went outside to look for the hummingbird feeder. I found it on the ground, with sugar-water inside. I picked it up and put back on my window. It has already had a hummingbird having her morning drink of sugar water. 👍🏻9

Yes, exactly!
When I started this whole thing in 2015, I decided that I wasn't going to waste calories on things I didn't like. Of course, I can't always follow that plan when I'm served something I don't particularly like somewhere, but as long as I have a choice, it will be foods I like.
So for lunch, I eat chicken, rice and veg. I like chicken, rice and veg enough to eat it for just about every lunch when I work.

I slept 12 hours again last night. I must have needed it!
When I got myself going, I did most of the weeding I had hoped to do this weekend. I also discovered that our greenhouse moved about a foot forward and about 6 inches to one side. We figure that was the wind ... when 100 km/h gusts came through, they must have shifted it! But it made getting at the weeds I wanted to remove a bit easier.
I also got quite a bit of cycling club stuff done, so I'm pleased with that.
That's our greenhouse up in the back.

Good morning ladies!
Machka you are definitely getting smaller! That's excellent! Congratulations! And thanks for the electrolytes links. My Mom's potassium got down to 2.2 and the doctors were very worried about her heart and kidneys.
Heather that new leopard coat is cool! I should find one for myself!
Lisa I love how you opened up that window area. Beautiful!
Greetings to all the rest of you!
It's raining again here today, with this Ophelia storm, but nothing too heavy. My dad wants to do the normal big Sunday dinner even though it's just the two of us. Hmm.
I went out to dinner with my buddy Craig last night. It was really great to get out. We went to a place that has southern food, hush puppies and corn bread and such. I had jambalaya, but they made it with a flat noodle instead of rice. And peach cobbler bread pudding. Very calorie heavy, but fun.

Machka: We generally have the same things for lunch most days. I keep a deep tray in the fridge with cold meats, cheeses, etc so that we just lift it out and are ready to go.
Lisa: That’s made that a lovely bright space 👌🏻
Heather: Sounds like you had a pleasant trip to London. Eddie looks very sophisticated in the coat.
Allie: Miles is growing fast.
Getting ready to Skype with family.

1. Find time for self-care. It’s not selfish. It’s essential. Making time!
2. Notice the things you do well, however small. I will. Talking to campers, meeting dogs, electronics.
3. Let go of self-criticism and speak to yourself kindly. I will try!
4. Plan a fun or relaxing activity and make time for it. Did this already! Went for a long walk this morning.
5. Forgive yourself when things go wrong. Everyone makes mistakes. This will be hard because I tend to blame myself for everything.
6. Focus on the basics: eat well, exercise, and go to bed on time. Will Do!
7. Give yourself permission to say ‘no’.. I’m doing this more often now.
8. Be willing to share how you feel and and ask for help when needed. I will try to remember to ask for help when I need it rather than struggle and get frustrated.
9. Aim to be good enough, rather than perfect. This needs to be a mind change for me. Whenever I do something, I get upset if it is not perfect. I need to make it a point to accept what the result is while doing my best.
10. When you find things hard, remember it’s ok to not be ok. This is apt for today.
11. Make time to do something you really enjoy. I hope to go ‘window shopping’ today. Did this and colored.
12. Get active outside and give your mind and body a natural boost. Went for a 20 minute walk then the rain started.
13. Be as kind to yourself as you would to a loved one.
14. If you’re busy, allow yourself to pause and take a break.
15. Find a caring calming phrase to use when you feel low. “Breathing in,I am relaxing. Breathing out, I am relaxed.”
16. Leave positive messages for yourself to see regularly. Sticky notes, here I come!
17. No plans day. Make time to slow down and be kind to yourself.
18. Ask a trusted friends to tell you what strengths they see in you. Forgot to do this.
19. Notice what you are feeling without any judgement. Doing that this morning.
20. Enjoy photos from a time with happy memories. This sounds like fun! I do have my pictures rotating on my TV as a screensaver but need to go through those.
21. Don’t compare how you feel inside to how others appear outside.
23. Let go of other people’s expectations of you. This is hard, but I try!
24. Accept yourself and remember that your are worthy of love. I need to tell myself this often.25. Avoid saying ‘I should’ and make time to do nothing.
26. Find a new way to use one of your strengths or talents.
27. Free up time by canceling any unnecessary plans.
28. Choose to see your mistakes as steps to help you learn.
29. Write down 3 things you appreciate about yourself.
30. Remind yourself you are enough, just as you are.

Good morning, past or present, from rainy, wet Arkansas.
The grass here is starting to look healthy again after the summer heat and lack of rain. I'll be stripping the white morning glories down shortly for the year, they've finished blooming and are looking very pitiful. The blue/purple ones will stay up for a bit yet, they're still putting on new blooms.
Thank you all for the comments on the makeover of the kitchen area! It does help when you take the before picture when it's still dark, and the after picture after the sun's up! We're very pleased with it, and Egg has been sitting on the cedar chest chittering at the birds at the feeder since early morning, so she's happy with it too... That space was one of the first things I saw in this house, and it was very much part of why we bought it. Light is so important to me.
Scam alert--I tripped over one this morning:Regarding looking at the tax office and assessment information, please be aware of a scam out there.
Like Kylia's, I knew our market assessment doubled for the house, as we got that announcement a couple months ago, so I went online to go to the county assessor's website. The first site up was propertyrecord . com, with our county listed as part of the website address. Made sense to me, as I know our county uses an online data resource for GIS mapping and so on.
So I went there, and added my information for a $1 fee to get a record of past tax assessments. It was a scam. Put me over to a site called "onlinedata . com" and actually generated an online record of past assessments for my property--but my mental alerts FINALLY started ringing because I realized that it didn't show us transferring the property into the trust earlier this year - and didn't show anything, in fact, past 2021.
And then I went to my credit card site, and these jerks immediately charged me $28.95. REALLY ticks me off that I got caught. Ticks me off even more that these schmuckers are doing this to a LOT of people, as well, and obviously have been for quite some time. :😠 Found a scam alert for them online with just a minimal search.
So, I reported them to the Federal Trade Commission, and to a number of online scam resources, and will talk to my credit card company to dispute the charge and make sure they're not able to charge anything else to that card--I'll get a new card number, etc., if I have to. But it will only protect me, no one else.
I seldom trip into that kind of thing and feel really stupid when I do. But then I realized, that's how they keep going because people don't want to tell anyone else they did something stupid, so they say nothing, and these wastes of skin keep scamming others on and on.
So - keep an eye out for this one, and if you're in doubt at all, call your county offices on the phone and get the correct web addresses that will get you the information you want.
Be careful out there. *sigh*
That was hard, saying that many bad words about people without cussing. Good exercise, though...
More later, I'm sure,
Love,
Lisa in AR7 -
Dating When my grandfather dies (actually both of them at different times) both grandmothers just stayed home and never went out. My Dad’s mom had my uncle who would get her and take her out but unless he was at her house, she never left the homestead. My Mom’s mom never went anywhere. She stayed home almost all the time (except for groceries) then just sat in her rocking chair by the window. She would be animated when we visited her, but other than that, you could see her at her window every day. Now my Mom was the opposite. About a year after my Dad died my mom started dating then re-married. She was never idle however, she was always going out for lunch and visiting friends (unfortunately not family but friends). Complete opposite of the grandmothers. My sister who is about 5 years younger than me lost her DH to a massive heart attack. She started dating almost right away. She has not re-married but is living with her boyfriend.
Different strokes for different folks! Do what you feel is right when the time comes. That goes for more than just dating!

Had a good time at our reunion. Couple of ladies came up and found me, it was so nice to see them. They had classes from ‘68 to ‘78 there. My sister Janie seemed to know or remember a lot more people than I did. My husband said that she’s lived here all her life, I was gone from Fresno for most of my life and have been removed from here for over 40 years, so that made sense.
so much time has gone by, wow. I need to get a hold of a year book,.

I let husband do up the meal menu for the week that he likes, many of which he cooks himself. I think I only cook about 30% of the meals now for him. He's likes the precooked meals and has them some nights. He always prepares his own breakfasts and lunches. He knows I would rather cook up my own soups, than open a can like he does. We have a big roast too maybe once a month. He has his roast beef sandwich french dips, and leftover potatoes/carrots meals from that. I am content to get a slice or two for a roast beef/ketchup and mayo sandwich. When husband makes up the menu he puts either a "h" or a "n" by the items. Stands for need or have when I am making up the shopping list. He doesn't dig around the kitchen as intent as I do using up this or that. He has admitted to that.🙃

Nice! I have a definite go-to list of meal choices that I like and more importantly my body likes. Its been honed down over the years and I would say its more like a weeks worth, and I kind of rotate them around. Throw in a restaurant here and there. 👍🏼

Awww thx. High school was not fun for me either, was bullied in jr high. A lot of these we went to kindergarten all the way up, so we were lifelong school mates. A lot of people were mean to me then6 -
Pip - Well done for having the courage to go to the reunion.
Had skate with black butter and capers tonight. With broccoli. I love it, though it slightly intimidates me! I have to be in the mood. Getting the butter to 'burn' to the right stage before you add the vinegar and capers, is a ticklish situation. I bake the skate in kitchen foil. The skate is caught by our local boats and I buy it at the harbour. It has been in the freezer for months! So, at last I felt up to the challenge.
Tried out the laundry sheets this afternoon. Not used them before. They seem to have done the trick, but the proof will be in our skin's reaction. I bought sensitive skin, unperfumed, non bio. Does anyone else use them?
One of the dresses I put out for the charity shop, and washed, I think I'll keep. I can see it in a new combo.
This week my son has asked us to pick up both girls tomorrow and not Bea on Tuesday. DH will bring them back here, and I will give them pasta, before they go to Art Club around the corner. He is in London and DDIL is giving a talk on Imposter Syndrome, her first solo book, to the Association of Women's Football Managers. It's some distance away. Must be scary!

I was surprised when I took my gloves off to see the huge blister. I was using one of those tools to dig out weeds- longer handle and a fork type thing on the end. The ground is SOOO hard there that it took a lot of muscle/strength to get them out. Lots of pushing and turning the tool. I will wait until after the first rain before I try to do the rest of her lawn2 -

I still haven't caught up with reading the posts, though I have skimmed through them.
I got back this afternoon from my trip to the Gardens with the pumpkin fest. I was quite tired and slept all afternoon. I spent from 5 pm to 8pm at the Gardens and the weather was perfect. There was a corn maze but I did not want to be in a maze by myself. I sat at a picnic table and ate mac and cheese and enjoyed the corn stalks against the blue sky.
Then I took a trolley ride back to the lake where there were displays of pumpkins and families with children walking among them. The families were great and the children very well behaved. I sat in a chair and looked at the lake for a long time. I missed seeing the sunflower garden. I forgot to look for it. It was a great atmosphere and I really enjoyed it!
Best,
