Hoping it is just mom and I. Sister might be there but we are hoping not.
I will make the most of it.
I will be going out to see my aunt(last one of dad's siblings) for a few hours on Sunday. Looking forward to that.
Have a wonderful weekend and I will catch up on Monday.

Debbie - have a great time!

Good evening ladies!
Well, I ate a little extra chocolate today. Gotta quit that habit. But I did thirty minutes on my bike, and an hour of yoga, Yay! My back is a little stiff.

Hi everyone,
I was scheduled for a mamio aka mammogram screening. I was feeling around and found a pea size lump rt outer quadrant breast. I have knotty breast. This is different. The radiologist tech felt the knot too. I have lost 35lb. I'm hoping that the lump is just related to the same thing. They have to get an order to do the right type of test. Today is Friday so now I have to Monday. So I will stay positive. I have had another biopsy on my left breast negative. Thanks for listening.16 -

Cindy - hope everything comes out clear
My condo is ground floor but the way the building is built its odd,you look at it from the front you see 3 floors
From the back 2,there are only 2 condos on either side
the rest of first floor rear is,laundry, movie theater, gym and storage for everyone.
Do basically except for my patio im underground ,i double hung window in bedroom and slider and thats it.
Well with cooler weather i leave windows open. And behind my bedroom are the stairwells to get outside.
Now they decided to put a bench other side of the emergency rd that goes around the building for smokers and the dumpster is right next to that.
So anytime Alfie hears footsteps down the stairs or the click of the gate for the dumpster all bets are off and he starts barking.
I was sleeping and at 10:15 he starts up. And I have to shush him and then when i finally settle him down im wide awake.
I love him,but he is gonna drive the angels crazy!!

Thanks ... but, it's been about 4 years.
After hitting the weight I am right now in early 2015, I lost over 25 kg (thanks to being able to log my food on MFP) and kept it off until my husband's accident in 2018. Then I gradually put it all back on ... plus an extra 6 kg over the past 5.5 years.
I probably eased past this weight on the way up about 4 years ago. I know I was just slightly over this weight in 2020. Now I just need to lose the 25 kg again.
But my first minor goal is 3 kg.
Thank you all ... it feels good to be rid of those 6 kg!
After all my husband and I have been through in the past 5.5 years, I'm starting to feel a bit more like myself again. I kind of feel like I'm back at the beginning again.

Machka - Ah... now I get it. I was confused... and apparently skipped over part of your paragraph! Anyway, beginnings are some of my favorite things, and starting over at least means you're starting! 25 kg sounds like a lot, but 3 kg sounds like a good interim goal. That's about what I was lifting in each hand for chest presses and arm curls today.
Which was a sneaky way of saying that after much hemming, hawing and procrastinating, I got my resistance work in. If it takes 27 times to make a habit, I've only got 26 more to go to get used to doing this regularly...
Later, y'all,
Love,

I like beginnings too.
The last couple months have been almost like coming out of hibernation.
Stress easing.
More freedom.
All kinds of possibilities ahead!
Co-incidentally, it's spring here and the leaves are coming out and flowers are blooming.Snowflake1968 wrote: »All of you that show your activities, art and crafts have been inspiring me. I also believe as the stress is leaving, I’m getting me back.
Speaking of the stress leaving, my doctor put be off indefinitely and wrote that I would not be able to return to my former job. I submitted that along with a resignation this evening.
Now as long as I am paid properly next week and my ROE is issued I’ll be done. I also have to pick up some personal belongs and drop keys off.

You're at the new beginnings stage too.Enjoy!!

Sounds like you are doing all the right stuff to keep your weight loss going with the Blue Zone type eating and extra activity, and eating later in the day. Excellent job.

We didn't take a lot of photos but I'll post a few.
We're pressing the honey-filled honeycomb. It's a very slow process ... days. But we've got one full jar now.
Edit: one photo of the pressing process ... the honey and comb is being pushed down in the big pot and slowly coming out and being strained.
My eating is actually smack-dab in the middle of my day when I'm the most active.
I get up at 7:30 ... 4 hours later I eat at 11:30.
I stop eating at 8 pm ... 4 hours later I am lying in bed going to sleep.
I start with a 100 calorie snack at 11:30 to give me a tiny bit of energy for when I go out for my lunch walk.
At 2 pm, I have lunch: chicken, rice and veg.
At 3:30 pm, I have a 75 cal yogurt and then I'll have a couple pieces of fruit between then and when I leave work.
Dinner is between 6:30 and 7 pm.
Dessert is between 7 and 8 pm.

Machka - I just love the Tiny Happy Things
Congratulations on the weight loss!
Heather - I had to look up the “crisis”. I think I have an idea now.
I hope you are feeling better.
Annie - I hope your Dad listens without too much fuss.
You are in a tough situation and handling it very well.
Lisa - I’m glad you had a great day yesterday! Well Thursday.
I need to get at some strength training as well.
The balance concerns are real. My Aunt’s second husband fell on his morning walk, broke his back and became a paraplegic. He ended up living the rest of his life confined.
Ironically enough my Aunt’s first husband became paralyzed after a surgery for prostate cancer in 1980. She was one of the strongest women I ever met. I admired her so much.
Barbie - it must be relief to have Jake home.
Rita - I hope your son takes this time to heal and realizes he needs to make some lifestyle changes.
Allie - I bet it did contribute. I didn’t realize how ill I was when I went on sick leave. Now that I’m feeling better I can see more clearly how stressed I was.
I may have to try some of those.
I’m glad you are getting some rest, are you feeling any better?
Rebecca - our eldest was a very clear talker very young as well. So was Jonah.
Our youngest though sounded like a little girl with a cross between a Newfie and a deep Southern girl. DH drive back to back from Florida to Newfoundland most of her first couple years of talking. She still calls me Mama with a little tiny twist.
I’ve done one of those scrabble tile things. They aren’t as easy as you would think they are. I bet yours is lovely!
Beth - I was thinking about your siding the other day. How much more do you have to do? Will you be affected by the hurricane? My geography is failing me tonight.
Lanette - I’m glad the Roger’s are there to help when you need it, you are kicking it on your own.
Well I didn’t get even an acknowledgment that they received my email today. I don’t know why this surprises me, they’ve had no respect through any of this.
I cut pieces today for a lantern. I think I have it figured out how to design one of the frames myself. That might be this weeks project.
I hope to have the lantern done tomorrow, I have ideas for changing it up as well.
Off to bed, hoping to go to Kaitlyn’s to make pickles tomorrow and her MIL is visiting so I’ll have a visit with her as well. She is a lovely lady. My daughter is so fortunate to have a wonderful MIL that adores her. I have the same, but I see how hard it is for my other daughter whose in-laws are very difficult.

Tracey - I was using the word as a joke really, but I was at my wit's end with the sneezing and streaming and exhaustion. It couldn't get any worse. And, of course, it turned by the morning and was much, much better. I used to see it in films of 'the old days'.
"What is considered a medical crisis?
The medical crisis pertained to a decisive turning point at which the disease would either cause death or recede. Crises occurred on 'critical days', a specific number of days after the onset of illness. This is described repeatedly in the writings of Hippocrates (11).8 Jan 2018"
Happy to say, I slept for 8 hours last night and life is looking up. Not done yet, but much perkier!

Tracey “…as the stress is leaving, I’m getting me back.” Thankful to hear it and that your doctor has written that you cannot return to your former job. Whew!
Sue you encourage me. Will discuss possible podiatry with new MD when I get in to see her.
Annie what Lisa, Barbie, Tracey, Lanette et al said. You are one strong gal in a tough situation. Brava!
Machka con VERY grats on the 6 kg… and the honey harvest… and most especially starting to feel a bit more like yourself!
Lisa, shuffling like a timid little old lady due to the fear of falling is one of the things I hate most about aging. T’ai Chi and the Better Bones and Balance class helped me some, and now the PT exercises, but I could do way better. Sure wish coach Ken was teaching BB&B again. Con VERY gratulations on your so very well begun!
Barbie thankful Jake is safe at home and sleeping well. Hope he heals quickly.
Allie imho in addition to the the stress of your job, I feel TomCat’s ways were detrimental to your health.
Beth admire your positive attitude about your DH’s meticulous process and avoiding damaging his friendship with his construction buddy. Brava for getting up and down the ladder, not something I could do even to help Joe. Fingers X’d your DH can finish before the weather turns.
Rebecca the ACV/honey/cayenne/sparkling grapefruit sounds way more appealing than the Black Rifle triple espresso shot, but it would take more than caffeine to inspire me to clean…
Lanette saw the “fall chicks” at our local ranch supply shop and thought of you. They were soooo cute, I was almost tempted, but nope. Livestock would not be safe with me.
Pip “legs got a break” walking Chispa for over two hours? You crack me up!
Debbie safe travels and hope your weekend visits go well.
Cindy brava for having lost 35 lbs and for staying positive. ((hugs)) and prayers.
Heather happy to hear your crisis has passed and you’re feeling much perkier! Colds can be so miserable.
Today a song came on the radio that was so piercingly beautiful I had to turn the radio off when it finished. Didn’t want anything else in my head. A capella Eagles “Down the seven bridges road”.https://youtu.be/NTvT4JNACss?t=2

Machka - thank you for the bee hives and honey harvesting pix! Gave me goosebumps. I can just imagine how great it tastes.
Allie - what a shame there's now foot traffic that gets Alfie stirred up. Rosie would be the same way, wish their "bark alarms" had on and off buttons or at least "silence" mode now and then. Alfie is such a cutie.
Heather - so glad to hear you are doing better.
Tracey - sorry to read about your Aunt's second husband. I saw a Bob & Brad short video yesterday talking about how important it is that we turn around in a circle now and then to help maintain balance and keep our vestibular system tuned up I guess. I never really thought about it until I saw that video and realized I rarely turn completely around in a circle. I can see how someone without good balance could easily fall from something so simple as turning 180 degrees quickly to move or grab something. I really think Tai Chi with the slow steps and short turns can help.
Making pickles sounds like fun!
Barbara - I agree, that Eagles song is hauntingly beautiful. They are among my favorite bands ever. Glenn Frey was a musical genius IMHO. I remember when he died, the news reported he also had RA.
Food Intolerances:When I went to see Dr. Matt a couple weeks ago, my main concern was stopping the stuffy nose/ sinus headaches at night and getting off nightly Zyrtec. I knew I had environmental allergies and suspected food intolerances because I knew that when I ate certain things, my nose and ears would plug in the matter of minutes, I'd feel bloated too.
He put me on a DAO enzyme that helps mitigate food intolerance symptoms. I'm pretty sure I've isolated the problem to dairy, which I was eating before bed - I often had a glass of milk, or a bowl of cereal with milk, or ice cream, or overnight oats with yogurt and milk as a dessert after supper.
I'm not giving up dairy, but am taking pains to stop eating/drinking dairy products after mid afternoon to let my system clear it out. I take the DAO supplement with dairy in the morning and at lunch - I think the symptoms aren't as severe and get better quickly. It's expensive and I can't afford to stay on it forever.
That's the latest. I woke up at 1 so a nap is scheduled some time today.
Make it a wonderful day, ladies!

Do some research on the cons of drinking milk.
One place to start: https://www.healthline.com/health/is-milk-bad-for-you
I discovered I was lactose intolerant when I was in my late teens. One glass of milk or milk on cereal is all right. If I do that 3 days in a row, however, my digestive system is quite upset.
"Most people with lactose intolerance can consume some amount of lactose without having symptoms. Different people can tolerate different amounts of lactose before having symptoms."
https://www.niddk.nih.gov/health-information/digestive-diseases/lactose-intolerance
I'm also good with hard cheeses, yogurts and the ice milk version of ice cream.
"Hard and matured cheeses such as cheddar, Edam, Swiss, mozzarella, brie and fetta contain no lactose and are tolerated by people with lactose intolerance."
"Yoghurt is usually well tolerated because the lactose content decreases each day as the bacteria use lactose for energy."
https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/health/conditionsandtreatments/lactose-intolerance
I'm not good with milk (as mentioned above), soft cheeses, cream or butter. Greek yogurts also don't sit particularly well. I used to love chocolate pudding (whipped milk and cocoa sort of thing), but haven't been able to eat it in years. It goes down really nicely ... and then I feel very sick for the rest of the day.
Also, just a tip ... check the weight of the cereal you're eating. Cereal is very disappointing. Usually 45 grams is considered a serving. Personally, a serving of cereal is 3 or 4 times that much!! 45 grams is a mere dusting of cereal at the bottom of the bowl. I stopped eating cereal for the most part in 2015 when I was on my first mission to lose weight because it just wasn't worth it.
I'm excited about the honey!! It's an interesting flavour ... not quite sure how to describe it. Kind of like a stringy bark and wildflower combination, but slightly milder.
We did lose our hive (the bees disappeared) but they had made a lot of honey. Now we have some scout bees sniffing around one of the hives so some may move in.
