I ran 2.25 miles today. I took the day off work, so I didn't get out until after nine. It was 66°F which was OK, but it has definitely warmed up today. But it was nice to be able to sleep in and run when the sun was out.

Short pre-work run yesterday. I always forget to post these because it's such a busy morning then I get busy at work. Uneventful run with temps about 60. Loving these temps.
Yesterday after work I cleaned out what was left of the tomatoes in my garden and planted some fall produce. Lettuces, carrots, snow peas, kale. I don't plant a lot of any one particular thing but it's nice to get a little bit of my own fresh produce from the garden. I haven't done carrots or snow peas here before so we'll see how those go. I also threw in one more tomato plant since I found a variety that's supposed to keep producing into the cool temps and we won't get truly cold temperatures for another couple of months.
Then, for dinner last night my husband and I went to a souffle restaurant. We had this tomato carrot bisque with little goat cheese "marshmallows" nestled on top then a savory souffle that was sun-dried tomato and pesto. Then we shared a bananas foster souffle for dessert. It was delicious and light and I would love to go back.8 -
Looking forward to new PBs from our racers this morning!! 🎉🎉🎉
I got my annual bloodwork yesterday and no matter how "clean" I eat sadly my total cholesterol is always over 200. It's not in the dangerous range just the borderline high. It did drop 3 points from last year. 🙃🤣 I hope my Dr doesn't want to start Statins. I do think this is genetic to some extent but who knows. 🤷♀️
It was a nice cool morning yesterday and my run was a little later due to fasting bloodwork but I managed to get 8 plus in. Then my friend wanted to play tennis in the afternoon also (who can say no?) AND it was a weighlifting day. I ended up with 4x my move goal and 30K steps for the day but did not take any anti inflams ... It was 94 for a record high but the humidity was only 20% so it did not feel quite so bad on the shaded tennis court.
Up to 126 out of 100 for the month but still actually enjoying longer runs.

@kgirlhart Nice, uneventful runs are the best.
@tarun_yadavA Enjoy your time with the family. Farm eggs are the best. There really is a big difference between the ones you get from small farmers that let them roam and those you buy in the store. And free is always good.
Nice running @Laurz9191 .
You are doing great @daria0919 .
Welcome @SamIAmOH ! This is a great group to keep you motivated.
Good luck on your races @Scott6255 and @AlphaHowls ! Love the waffle shirt.
@martaindale Nice running. I hope your fall garden does well. Glad you enjoyed the restaurant.
Wow @SummerSkier ! That's a lot of exercise for one day. I'm glad you are enjoying the longer runs. You have 94F and my friend and I put off tennis today until noon because it was just a bit too cool this morning. LOL I think our high is predicted to be 66F today. How is the ratio between LDL and HDL? My total number is 241, but my doctor isn't concerned because my HDL is 106 and LDL is 115 (within normal range).

Peachtree Classic 15K
Weather was a perfect 50°F and 5mph wind. Told myself if the 1st mile is 8:30 pace or under I would try and race it, otherwise I would just take it easy. First mile clocked in exactly at 8:30. So I guess we're doing this... my brother stuck with me the whole time. With all the hills I started struggling at about 5 miles. I thought Mike would just start pulling away, but I somehow found a way to keep up with him. After that second mile we kept a 7:40 pace or faster. Just before the 9 miles mark I decided to just go for it. There were two huge hills at the finish which were pure evil. Ended up with a 7:43 pace 1:12:45 finish time.
42 of 348 overall.
4th of 21 Age group (there are a LOT of fast old guys here).
Overall I'm happy with my performance, but a little bummed not placing.
Tomorrow's 10 mile race is going to just be a slow sightseeing tour I think 😁

Basically, previous run I managed to run 1.72km without walking. This time I slowed down a lot, and was suddenly at 2km, and hence the idea was born to double it. Ran the whole 3.5km. Have to say though that the last 600m or so weren't too easy and my HR was high even for me (189). I'm slowly getting my running mojo back.5 -

First double digit run for me since March! Temp was 42F when I started but the sun was out and it warmed up nicely. I drove to a town about an hour from me where I went to college for my associate’s degree and then worked at the college for 3 years. I never go in that direction any more so it was great to see the town and all the changes/sameness. They have a greenbelt which is 3 miles in length. I ran it a couple of times and around the streets some to make it to 10 miles.
Congratulations @Scott6255! You had an awesome pace! You were so close to placing!
Your dinner sounds wonderful @martaindale. I hope your garden does good. Our growing season has pretty much ended for the year. I’m going to miss the fresh tomatoes most of all.
Welcome @SamIAmOH!
@SummerSkier – It’s so frustrating when we eat the right things and our bodies still betray us. My cholesterol tends to run too high for my liking also. That’s a lot of steps for the day!
Glad you are feeling better @yirara.

Race Start, me and running partner A
Race Report! The good, the bad, the ugly!Race Day! I felt good, running partner 'released me' to give it my all. She felt I could push and get PR.
I have never pushed like this run. I have never run this fast. I thought my fuel and things seemed to be on point. My legs started to feel weird by mile 6ish. Not really sure, but they just kept moving and I felt like I could not get control of them. I felt top heavy and felt like I was leaning. I had to keep pep talking myself to slow down, breathe, stay straight. By mile 11, not really sure who was running, my legs just did not want to be under my control. I had to 'right' myself quite a bit. Best described as 'jelly legs.' I began to really struggle to stay straight and upright. I was weaving here and there. I could hear the crowd as I got close, "Don't stop! You are almost there!" It was not pretty, but I was not in pain, I just did not have control of my legs or upper body. I was fighting to make the finish line. About 50ish feet, I was mostly bent over and did go down on on all fours. I could hear the crowd, telling me to push through, almost there, you can do it. I could see the line. I got up and wobbled my way, fighting every inch. I actually kept going through the finish, hearing someone yell to the 'medal handers' to leave me alone until I could get control. One lady ran and grabbed water and as I veered past her, she gave it to me. The weird, I felt fine, just not in control of my body, complete jelly.
I could hear the crowd, but it was my spirit inside that screamed at me to get up and get through that finish line.
Not that I feel humiliated or ashamed, but yeah...
I do not have any other pictures yet as they have not posted race photos. I really do not want to see them, due to what I might see.
Finisher Medal
I do not have my place medal. This race had some hiccups and some poor planning on behalf of the race presenters left me a little miffed. They also did not have waffles. They had 'run out'. No chocolate milk, I really did not see much support and I admit I looked hard at the emergency call boxes on the sides.

Like fluoride in the brave new world I think we'll have statins and Ozempic in our drinking water.
Do what's right for you, but that whole take statins for life thing is a hard pill to swallow.0 -
Congratulations on doing so well @AlphaHowls but how scary to feel so out of control. You really left it all out there! It’s a shame the organizers weren’t organized. I can’t imagine them running out food when you finished in the top quarter of all the participants. Hopefully, they will take notes and do better next year.4

Excellent race @Scott6255 ! Great job on keeping up with your brother and going for it at the end. I hope you enjoy your race tomorrow.
Congratulations @yirara ! You did great to double your distance of continuous running! Slowing up is the way to get there.
Great double digit run @Teresa502 ! Sounds like you enjoyed your trip down memory lane.
Wow @AlphaHowls ! It sounds like you put it all out there. Amazing pace! Congratulations on your Ist place AG win! Feeling so much like "jelly" must have been scary. Glad you made it and are okay. Your running partner did great too. Like @Teresa502 said, I'm surprised they were already out of food when you finished so soon. Hopefully they will do better next year.4 -

56.70/90 mile goal
Yesterday, I cut my recovery run short because I was running behind schedule. I ran before work, so didn't have time for the planned 30 min. It wasn't too bad.
Today, I played singles tennis with a friend at noon. We had planned on earlier, but waited for it to warm up a little. It was nearly perfect weather, had it not been for the breeze. (59F - 15C).
After I got home, I did a longish run on the driveway. After 0.35 miles of warm up walk, I did a run/walk of 0.3/0.15 miles. The average pace for the runs was 12:05 min/mile. I was pretty pleased with that since I wasn't pushing the pace at all. The fastest segment was the last one, when I did push it, at 11:13 min/mile.5 -
Hello everyone!
@Scott6255 - amazing pace!
@AlphaHowls - well done on pulling through... And great sub-02hr finish too! 💪5
