It started out a great run & I was feeling great & then the rain started. I didn’t give in tho & just keep going thinking about the pizza l was going to enjoy when I got home.8 -
Nice running @mnsmov15 . Good for you for braving the cold weather.
@yirara Glad you are feeling better and had a nice, cold run.
You are doing great @Zakkery86 ! You are doing great running when you travel. This group is great for motivation. May I ask what you do for work that "allows" you to travel to so many different places?SummerSkier wrote: »Reminds me of the targets they set for bonus'es at work. One year when I was with Tyco they announced the targets AFTER the qtr was over. Durn you missed it. 😳🧐😏
Nice running @kgirlhart ! Glad you figured out how to dress today. I'm so sorry about the lost sleeve. Once you have something you like, it's hard to find another to match it.
Great running @Teresa502 . I think once you get used to a treadmill, it isn't too bad. I watch TV so I'm not bored. Game shows that keep my mind occupied trying to come up with the answers is the best for a longer run. What are you going to do tomorrow? It's really supposed to be cold in the morning.
You are doing great @Laurz9191 ! I hope you feel better tomorrow and can go out for that snowy run.
@Mari33a Great job with the rainy run. I don't mind running in the rain if it is warm and I'm already out when it starts. Except I really hate running in wet shoes. LOL I hope the pizza was as good as you were anticipating!

I took Tippy to the vet this morning for her yearly checkup and shots. She did great. When I got home, I did a treadmill wun. I had planned to run, but when I was sitting at the computer this morning, by back took a couple of catches and I was afraid to run too much. I watched two more episodes of The Match Game and only ran during the commercials. I managed 4 miles in 59:45 min...so 15 min/mile. My Avg HR was 113 with a max of 139 bpm.
Upcoming race: Space Force T minus10 miler - 9 Dec

Did 7 miles this evening. Was an OK run, but nothing special.
Brings me to 2010... the year my daughter graduated high school as the Valedictorian from a class of about 900. Then later that year she started at Texas A&M. Time flies!

Morning all. Less time this morning - but got in 3.75M (09"31 pace).
@Mari33a pizza 🍕 Mmmmm 🤤
Alrighty.... From apples 🍏 to Pizza 🍕...
What's everyone's favourite topping and their least favourite???
I'll go...
Favourite: Mushroom (truffle -type of mushroom!- if a super fancy Italian!)
Least: toss up between Pineapple and Jalapeno
(If Hawaiian has no business on an Italian masterpiece then neither does Tex-Mex!! And I think the Jalapeno just pierces and overpowers any good tomato sauce base!)

I met another crazy friend at 5:00 am and we ran 5 miles! The temperature was 18F but overall I was dressed warm enough. My legs started getting a little cold towards the last mile so I should have put on an extra layer under my pants. My face also got cold. I have some of the face masks with the eyes and mouth cut out but I have a hard time breathing in them. Just feel suffocated. Plus, i fear looking like a hoodlum at that time of morning!4 -

Your least favorites are probably mine also. My favorite pizza is a non-traditional: pizza with BBQ sauce base, chicken, red onion and cheese.2 -
A chicken supreme is probably mine. We used to get this gorgeous seafood pizza with a really thin base from a place we stayed near a few times in France. It used to be a case of drop the bags and run to the pizza guy. Think he was Italian. I buy the multipack pepperoni or salami pizzas for the freezer and then add topping from whatever's in the the fridge.5
-
@tarun_yadavA I would argue that it’s not the topping that matters but the quality of the dough and all the ingredients that makes a good pizza. I think I might be a bit of a pizza snob . I’ve had some absolutely awesome freshly made pizzas that each tell a kind of story with their own taste. One of the most surprisingly good pizzas I’ve ever had was a vegan one with hummus instead of tomato sauce. I don’t know how, but that really worked!
I got my snow run in today. I coughed through the first half but then felt good-ish. Parts of the run were really icy and I had to watch my footing carefully.
@Teresa502 Wow! That is cold!!! It was just slightly below freezing here.
I ran 10.3km, bringing my total for November to 172.8/200km.4 -

I hired a couple of electricians to rewire my house. I bought them pizza, and this is what they wanted as topping.

Hey team! It’s another week: another city to run in. This time Milford Haven in Wales. Managed two short runs to take my November 🏃♂️ total to 49.7 km / 60 km 🎯. Two days to go and 5k each day should see me hit target. I definitely would not have done it without this group - thank you!
Managed a 6k run this morning to leave just under 5k going into the last day. Good luck on the final day 💪
@quilteryoyo I work in Offshore Wind industry in UK as a logistics manager. Means travel to ports (boat visits), to customers (site visits) and to our business locations in Denmark, France, UK, Germany and Netherlands!!6 -

Great job @mari33a on completing your goal!
Pizza: I really don't dislike any toppings. I don't love pineapple or anchovies, but I'll still eat it (not both on the same pizza) 😜
6.3 miles today. This felt just a hair harder than yesterday, but had 18mph wind for at least half of it.
So that's 2016 for RTY....the year my son graduated HS (NOT valedictorian) and started at Texas A&M.
Just 7 more miles to complete 😁

I ran 6 miles today. It was a little cooler than yesterday, but not too bad. I heard a couple arguing this morning. You don't often hear people yelling at each other at 6 in the morning. I saw one loose dog, but he didn't bother me or even bark at me. I also saw 8 deer at the soccer fields. They were really neat. It's not a great picture, but it is hard to get good pictures of wildlife on your phone when it isn't quite light yet.I like pepperoni and black olives on pizza. I also like Canadian bacon and pineapple, but none of my family likes that kind. I don't care for bell peppers or onions on it.
@scott6255 I didn't realize that your kids were Aggies. I graduated from A&M in 1991. Your kids are close to the same age as my kids too. Mine graduated from HS in 2011 and 2015.

Oh wow, that is so cool!
3 -
@kgirlhart and @Scott6255 I was an Aggie too but in California - UC Davis. I hope your son didn’t mind not being the valedictorian. 900 kids is pretty stiff competition!
So I am done for November. It snowed a bit more last night but was above freezing yesterday afternoon, which made for an interesting running surface- snow covered leaf sludge. It wouldn’t have been good for intervals, but for a “normal” run it was ok. I ran 10.3km, bringing my November total to 183.1/200km. I am perfectly happy with my mileage and runs this month. On to December!7 -

Got in 4.36M / 7K (10"01). Was up around 4am (09:30 India time)... then wasted about an hour plus tossing and turning trying to go back to sleep.
Got a jetlagged run in, in the end!
Anyways... Put me down for 130M for November.
Morning all. Got in a 9K (09"28 pace).
Brings my total to 145 for the month!
PS: looks like I could split a pizza with any of you! 😊
Except for @chris_in_cal 's electrians... And you @Laurz9191 ! Vile. 🤢
Vegan base with hummus!?
Delete your account!
Lol

So I think Nov is a wrap as it is a bit rainy today and I probably need a day off.
I love pizza no mushrooms or onions or pepper please. Anything else ok. But..... sadly I don't really eat it because no matter how much I drink the bread and salt? seem to dehydrate me too much. Plus hard to just eat 1 slice right? 😏
Very cool about all the Aggies here and so close in ages. Would be strange if they knew each other but the corps is large. I know that when I tell people where I went to school, they say, did you know such and such who graduated while you were there. Hmmmm... Chances are almost zero but you never know.🤷♀️🤣
I really had a huge workout day on Tuesday between running and Tennis and weights etc so yesterday was just a short run to top 150 miles for the month and keep my legs alive.

I so love reading everyone's posts but don't post much myself. We did more hiking this year and less running because we went to Colorado for a month and at 8,500ft breathing was so "interesting"! I hope I make my annual running goal of 780 miles. San Antonio RnR on Sunday, I'm excited but have not trained as expected and my weight is up from my last HM.
I hope everyone enjoys their run or rest today~!

Pizza: I 'used' to like it. It always had to be thin crust, beef and mushroom. When I joined MFP in 2015, it was a great deal of learning on my part and one of the things I learned is that I don't like pizza. I learned over time that bloated and discomfort is not 'full' and not normal. I do have IBS and a bit of gluten intolerance it appears. I do like a cheese and cauliflower pizza.6 -

100.06/100 miles goal
Goal made! Thanks to everyone’s encouragement! I was looking back through the month trying to figure out how it seemed harder to make my goal this month. Taking into account that the month only had 30 days, I had two travel days, running in Aruba was much hotter, humid and harder than expected, and I spent a weekend hiking the Appalachian Trail, I’m happy to have met it. On cross training, I finished up Caroline Girven’s Iron Series and started a repeat of the Epic Series (currently on day 10). Overall, it’s been a good, active month for me and I logged some kind of intentional exercise every single day.
This morning’s run was a balmy 25F making it 8 degrees warmer than yesterday and you can really tell a difference at that temperature. My face didn’t get cold at all today whereas yesterday it was cold the entire run.
Good luck with your HM @BeverlyW1108!
Congratulations to everyone in this month’s challenge and see you in December!

Re pizza toppings: I like a basic pizza with good quality. Red sauce, cheese, mushrooms is my go to. Or a margherita. And I prefer a thin crust. Least favorite are things like the bbq pizza @Teresa502 loves, olives (just not a fan in general), pineapple. I agree with @tarun_yadavA about jalapeno overwhelming everything else.
Thanks for setting up December @AlphaHowls6 -

I had an unintended rest day yesterday so I'm a few miles short of goal. Oh well. My car battery was dead when I left work yesterday so by the time I sorted that out it was dinner time. Once I eat dinner I am in for the night. It gets too late to run and I won't be able to sleep.
This morning I did my speed workout, 1.5 mi repeats with 0.5 mi recovery. Each repeat was a 3-4 secs slow but I say that's close enough. I noticed I was settling into race pace, which is 10 secs slower than my target for this workout. That was reassuring that I'm finding that pace more easily. Weather this morning was nice for me: cool, light rain, little breezy.5
