Good morning ladies!
On saying NO - at Thanksgiving dinner, a distant relative said we should go out for coffee sometime. I said No, I'm taking care of my mother at home right now, and I really can't go out. She badgered me into exchanging phone numbers anyway. I should have continued to hold my boundary, but I caved. If she calls me now, I will feel justified in ignoring the call because she pushed me, and I don't want that kind of relationship. I guess some people need to hear a "Heck NO!"
I am having second thoughts about hospice. Something about giving IV fluids for dehydration is considered prolonging life. I have to think about that.
My cousin is coming to cut my Dad's hair. She is a hairdresser by trade, so it is quite nice of her. I will likely let her trim mine too. I like to keep it shorter than my wrists so I can reach past it.
Rori, so sorry about your friend that passed.
Somebody asked me a question and now I've lost it. Sorry. I will have to be gentle with myself today. My nose is runny and my throat is becoming sore. Not good.
Have a good day, my friends! Reading your posts and typing out this early morning note is a very valuable relationship for me. I hope you all enjoy it too!

You must have really long hair!
If mine was wrist length that would be past my butt, to the tops of my thighs. I have let it grow to that point a couple times but it starts to get in the way.
Remember to take time for yourself.

Annie - I look for your posts every time I sign in... so glad we are some support. As Machka says, remember to take care of you, too. Take advantage of the time of any and every family member you can to preserve your own health and give yourself time to breathe.
Lanette - I've loved New Balance since I weighed 300+ pounds and they were the only ones with steel shanks. They fit my feet at a wide width, too. Unfortunately, the edema a couple years back left me with a puffy ankle on the right, down low below the ankle bone, and the only shoes that don't hurt that ankle and provide support are the Crocs clones. See spoiler. I use the New Balance when I have long distance walking, like mowing, as the clones can be slidy on uneven terrain.
Barbara - I think it was you who was looking for slip-ons?I love these because they don't flap like most mule-type shoes, and I don't have to shuffle to keep them on. They're cloth of a kind, not plastic or stiff, they support my arches, and I can throw them in the washing machine (and have). I have three, bought over about three years. Red ones for house shoes, blue ones for walking around the yard, purple ones for when I go for short trips into town. I wear an 8 wide in New Balance and a 7.5 in these. They run large.

Chores day - the washer is whooshing and the dryer is doing what it does, with a little thumpety-thump from the wool dryer balls. Egg's enjoying the fire I built to take the chill off this morning, but I'll let the fire die slowly now--it's supposed to be a nice afternoon, weather-wise.
Corey called early for his good morning call, he's headed "up the hill," an hour's drive north to Fayetteville, to put a track back on a machine up there. He has requested chili burgers for dinner, with cheddar cheese, onions and jalapenos and canned chili (his request, I swear!) I'm working on my digestion to try to diminish the bloating and gas, and he's apparently working on his to see how much he can generate! I can eat a burger on a slider bun and be perfectly happy without all the rest, so that will work fine.
I broke down and got a different kind of iron ordered that's supposed to be easier on your gut. Hopefully it will be here by Friday. My body needs iron still, because, while my hemoglobin is better, it's still at the very low end of the normal range. However, when I skip my morning dose of iron, the painful gas doesn't set in until quite late in the evening, so I think it might be helpful to get a less destructive kind. Fingers crossed.
Ah - the dryer's just buzzed, time to fold.
Love from the sunny, chilly morning of the Arkansas River Valley,

Allie, I'm so sorry. I don't think I remember a week going by where you've not mentioned Homer in the last ten years, at least. Many hugs as you say goodbye.4

Still trying to come to terms with the bad news from the doc yesterday. My kidneys have progressed into stage 3B from 3A in just 3 month. That is a big change and now I am really worried about it. I don’t see the renal doc until the first week of January, so only 4 more weeks to go. Researching kidney diets, etc. Looks like the Mediterranean diet is recommended. I am eating mostly that way now! I simply have to be more attentive to my sugar, egg, and wheat intakes. Egg and wheat are food sensitivities and sugar, well any at all make my glucose skyrocket, so time to get serious!

1. Make a list of new things you want to do this month. 1. Start Christmas shopping, 2. Work on my happiness, 3. Walk the mall at least once. 4. Read a new book
2. Respond to a difficult situation in a different way. I will see what comes up, but the daily readings I do have helped a lot already! Did this!
3. Get outside and observe the changes in nature around you..Supposed to be in the low 80’s (f) here today and the week to come so will have plenty of time to do this. Didn’t do this today, sick.
4. Sign up to join a new course, activity, or online community. I’ll have to look around for this. Thinking about something to do with MCC. I joined 2 new groups on FB.
5. Change your normal routine today and notice how you feel. Will do!
6. Try out a new way of being physically active. I will have to think about this. Maybe do a YouTube video. Did not do this.
7. Be creative. Cook, draw, write, paint, make or inspire. I will Zendoodle. I tried out my DH’s suggestion for mirror letters.
8. Plan a new idea or activity you want to try out this year. I have a water color set. I will experiment with that.
9. When you feel you can’t do something, add the word ‘yet’. I need to remember this.
10. Be curious, learn about a new topic or an inspiring idea. I learned about Alonon and downloaded their app and read through it.
11. Choose a different route and see what you notice on the way. I did this on my walk today.
12. Find out something new about someone you care about. Research time!
13. Do something playful outdoors - walk, run, explore, relax. Took a walk.
14. Find a new way to help or support a cause you care about. Have to think about this.
15. Build on new ideas by thinking “yes, and what if…” I will remember this!
16. Look at life at someone else’s eyes and see their perspective. According to my therapist, this is called empathy. I do this but not enough. Will try to do better.
17. Try a new way to practice self-care and be kind to yourself. Staying in bed and resting today.
18. Connect with someone from a different generation. I do this most days at the park.

I'm more of an "apath"
Although I feel more empathy toward animals than people.
But you took me by surprise. From your posts, I would have put you slightly closer to the apath end of the "empath---apath" scale than to the empath end. Of course, I don't know you in person.
M in Oz
I had to look up the difference between apath and empath. I think you are correct, I try to have empathy, I used to be good at that until the divorce, and some other things that happened during that time. That pushed me more toward apath. I am now trying to get my empathy back. Being on 3 depression/anxiety medications takes a lot of feeling away….
RVRita
BTW when I referred to apath, I was thinking along the lines of being apathetic. Not out to hurt anyone, but low on the feelings end of things. Like someone on the autistic spectrum.
I understood Machka. I was a little upset at first but then, I know you didn’t mean it as a bad thing, and yes, I’ve never been tested but strongly feel I am on the autistic spectrum. Hate crowds, deal better with dogs than people, a loner, hate noisy environments, etc… Maybe I’ll look for an online test to try..

So many hugs held extra long for all of you. The losses and decision making can take a toll on a person. Please be kind to yourselves and feel our hugs.
So all this talk of personality traits....I know I am an empath. I have been told that lots. I tend more towards introvert though I need people ( in small doses). I took the free test and came up as ISFP. Amazingly, a lot of things such as introvert vs extrovert, traditional vs progressive, tough vs tolerant....I am borderline. As I read the report, I realize alot is situational for me. The synopsis said I was a composer and gentle caregiver. Thinking about the test I believe my DH is ESTJ aka supervisor. Extrovert, traditional, thinker, judging. Found it extremely interesting. Thank you for sending me in that direction. I like learning. I learn a lot from all of you.
Welcome back, Meg! Good to see you
I better get to work since I am at work-hehe. Been open 2 hours and have had 2 phone calls and one customer. Good time to get paperwork and classes done. Just to get the squirrels in my head to behave.
Much love and big HUGS!

Coyotes- I grew up in the country and never saw one. My daughter lives in the middle of the city and saw one in the yard last year.
Lanette - I think your activities even with your ladies keeps you young.
Annie - those are some difficult decisions, but I’m sure you and your sister will make the right ones. Hugs to you as you travel this path.
Heather - I’m happy to read that you are working on your book again.
Edie sure is an active young girl.
Scammers - I have been using a prepaid credit card when ordering online. I only put money on it when I’m ordering if the scammers get hold of it, they won’t get anything.
On starting fires - I grew up in a house with mostly only wood heat. We did have an oil furnace, but there was rarely fuel in it. Sometimes if it was really cold Dad would fill a jerrycan for one morning. My mother could not start a fire without filling the house with smoke. That’s what we woke up to every morning in winter until my brother was old enough to start the fire. Some mornings Dad would start it before he left for work, but unless Mom got up it went out. The stove was old and not very air tight. When Dad was home though, it was some wonderful heat.
Margaret - I’m sorry your friend disrespected you like that.
Joy - I hope you were able to get to the bank and congratulations on finding the equipment.
I’m sure that part of the problem with the market was people not spending, but it also wasn’t well advertised in their neighbourhood. It is discouraging when that is part of why we pay table fees.
Carol - I’m glad you were able to help your DH I hope he was grateful.
Lisa - I actually said I was going to do that and got the raised eyebrow. I’m sure if I did it he would find fault for years to come so I’m refraining. I have even asked our eldest to come out and do it for me, because she has done it before but she doesn’t want to have to listen if it’s not perfect.
Don’t get me wrong, DH doesn’t really complain a lot and doesn’t mean to be mean or rude. He thinks he’s healing us learn from our mistakes. We just shrug it off now. This thought would be way too noticeable for me to have look at long term.
Rebecca - Your jewelry tree is beautiful.
Vicki - do you get a break from work anytime soon?
I hope your son opens up to you or at least contacts you.
Rori - sorry for the loss of your friend.
Evelyn- Do you have a Dollar Tree? That’s where I got them.
I haven’t seen them at Michael’s here.
“Not grazing my way through the kitchen”, that is what I need to stop doing.
I had a busy day, but I don’t think I could tell you what I did. I did go to Costco, that’s always a treat. 🙄
I did get the fobs programmed for our vehicles! That really was a treat, I’m sure the neighbours will agree. I’ve had to open my door manually so set the alarm off every time.
I made a lantern for myself. I’ll post pics In a day or so, I need to decorate it.
DH has gotten even quieter this week. I was talking to my BF tonight, she has known Rodger as long as I have. She too is worried. She was telling me about a rage room.
I’m thinking this might be something I should look into for him.
I think there is a lot of anger inside him and he doesn’t know where to place it.
It might help🤷♀️
Thoughts for another day.

Its one of my cherished items💖. My dear Mother and I made trees one year for my sisters and I. My mother asked both sets of grandmothers for jewelry, then her jewelry and even the neighbors jewelry. My mother was very organized and each of us three daughters got an equal serving of each. I can look at mine and see my maternal grandmothers going to church earrings, and jewelry we played with as children, plus I have added charms my sons gave me, along with my confirmation necklace cross, my paternal necklace religious icon charm (don't know what to call it), plus a one yen coin from my father when he was in the Navy, and a one yen coin from when we were there. I have added bits of necklaces I have had, and pretty necklaces I got after my mother passed. Very much a labor of love.
This is what it looks like unlit.

Today’s gratitude: able to turn passcode off of Joe’s iphone.
Tina ((hugs)) held extra long. Such a shock. ((hugs))
Allie, what a disappointment. Hope the company provides a replacement soon. I don’t understand why the taxes and shipping won’t be credited back to your card?
@KetoneKaren always a joy to see your smiling face pop up.
Debbie hope Amazon credits back that charge.
Margaret so wise to be with tiny DrewB whenever outside. One winter in Boise I heard of an eagle attacking a tiny French bulldog that was in the back yard. The river was frozen so guess the eagle was starving for fish. So sorry your friend disregarded, disrespected your feelings. It was a traumatic time. The challenge will be to lovingly, calmly, firmly establish the boundary of what is and is not acceptable. Laughing at your trauma and grief is not.
Rosemarie the interim phase is so distressing, hang in there. Wednesday is not far away.
Barbie yours about non-attachment, but alas, my emotions are more like Velcro. . . How timely the Merton quote, just got out my complaint-free wristband yesterday . . . Holiday lights, what a bonus for your after-dark walking!
Carol ((hugs)) what a daunting task! What is one tiny thing you could look at releasing, a pair of shoes or a blouse that no longer fits? Brava for setting you your DH’s laptop. Hope he drops the sarcastic remarks, entirely.
Tracey what I really need is a piece of duct tape for my mouth… Thanks, for hoping oven part arrives before tech. Won’t know til Wednesday. I’ll be at oral surgeon for a consultation Tuesday but Joe will be home… There’s a looong story about not being able to find our marriage license, lots of stress, lots of bureaucrats saying it’s not here. Finally rememberd Joe was working in a different county when he got it and all’s well, but for awhile there . . .
Machka “…being free to choose…” well said. “…feel more empathy towards animals than people” oh yeah. The more I see of most men, the better I like my dogs. “motion lights” brilliant. What “Thanks for asking but I am busy every night this week." could include, oh yeah.
Kylia cozy and welcoming, what a great style. Pretty good sister comment too…
Ginny ‘bout damtime. Glad CT was able to be scheduled next day. Fingers X’d for helpful information. Yours to Michele about Denise, mistreatment and communication. Truth.
Lanette shin ache comes and goes. Logging on my calendar to try to see a pattern. So far compression socks and rest are the best helps. Ached a little after chair yoga and post office walk in Adidas but strolling down the drive to the power line in hiking boots with the dogs didn’t hurt at all. Go figure. Thanks for asking I’m definitely in the market for good slip on shoes, any suggestions? Meant to ask, do the chickies like eggplant?
Annie ((hugs)) Whooshing peace and strength to you and yours. ((hugs))
Heather well done on the physio referral form. VERY well done for going back to your book. Thankful for the huge mood shift. Like how you always find interesting people to talk with. Think they must be attracted to you as you are so very interesting too. Yours to Tracey, insightful, supportive, kind, true.
Lisa love your fireplace and the Egg pics. That “… without losing my balance” meme made me snort my water.
Rita not just the meds, but the divorce and other experiences must have made empathy harder.
Joy is your farm organic? Is it barley? Are GMO neighbors an issue?
Rebecca that bruised/sore gum sounds painful. Is there a dental clinic on the base?
Vicki ((hugs)) Hope you feel better soon.
Michele lector bookmight these be the readings for Saturday? Unfortunately no gospel. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm 80:1-7, 17-19; Micah 2:1-13; Matthew 24:15-31&version=DRARori ((hugs)) that happened fast. ((hugs held extra long))

Unfortunately its not for the retirees, just active duty, the clinic on base. We would have to pay a bit more with Tricare to get that activated to be seen at a place out in town. We usually had dental coverage with husbands work, so that tells you how long its been since I visited a dentist. I'm thinking 2010? So husband did some research and Tricare coverage isn't in WA state for dental, so he picked another that pays 100% for cleanings and I believe 80% for other stuff and is $110 a month. Not too bad. Can't for the life remember the name of it though. We should be getting our cards soon, and in January we should be able to make an appointment. My mouth isn't really painful, just when I brush. The tooth gum has exposed the root a bit so its sensitive. No infection, no redness at the tooth site, but some soreness in the lower gum, but that's healing well. Yesterday I bought some sore gum mouth wash. It has a lot of hydrogen peroxide in it! I also bought a pen that dispenses a gel from the soft brush tip, so can apply it to the tooth site. It seems to be working. It will be nice to get a full cleaning, but I just hope they put me under or something. The thought of metal things on my sensitive teeth sends me into a panic.

Look what I made for Athena and parents! Candy Christmas trains.💖. I had fun, thanks to a hot glue gun.😁. I was going to give them a couple crisp $20's to put in each card, (put in their gift box, not mailed), but when I bought the candy for these trains, my sore gum stuff, batteries for our tree, and bubble wrap it came to $80 at Walgreens. Ugh. So I only got one $20 for baby Eli and got Athena a cute white piggy bank from the bank. I taped a bunch of the newest coins I could find (in our piggy bank) and taped them to her card. To feed her piggy. Best learn about the value of money child! I had bought her a arts and crafts related present so I didn't feel too bad about it. So these three were wrapped up in bubble wrap and put in a plastic container.
My tree since the lights on it work.🙄😁

Rebecca, what a good idea re the piggy bank for Athena. I'm sure she will love feeding the piggy! Beautiful jewel tree that represents such cherished memories.
DH takes indomethacin for his gout....not sure the spelling is right. This is day 3 of taking it at one pill a day. It does work and the gout pain is easing. Today he said he has a bit of a headache and is feeling somewhat dizzy. I know last time he was on it, he got vertigo. Thinks he might have to take it one more day. He has been careful with his diet...staying away from red meats, processed foods and sugar with the exception of a piece of apple pie last night. Advised him not to eat it but he did. At least he didn't put ice cream on it which he usually does.
Made perogies this morning. Big chore and glad it's done. Christmas perogies and cabbage rolls all tucked away in the freezer. Have to start thinking about doing a bit of baking but not getting carried away with that as I don't want a lot of leftovers for hubby and I to take care of as neither one of us needs it. Concentrating more on a nice meal with a bit of sweet treats to have later in the evening.
Hubby is now laying on the couch after eating lunch. Said he might not take any more pills as doesn't like the dizzy feeling. Usually has a gout flare up once a year and seems to coincide with him eating fruit like pears and grapes. Also have been having cauliflower probably a bit too often so will stop doing that. He eats a varied diet so I know it is not just meat that is causing his problem. He really likes fruits and vegetables but certain types of those are high in purines....unfortunately those are the ones he likes.
Enjoying a relaxing afternoon now. Watching the Pine Grosbeaks feeding on our crabapple tree that I can see from the living room window. They are quite a beautiful bird. About the size of a robin and the male is mostly red with black wings that have 2 white stripes on them.. quite distinct. They migrate here from further north in the winter and we never see them in the summer. They started coming here a couple of years after we planted that crab tree.

About the size of a robin and the male is mostly red with black wings that have 2 white stripes on them.. quite distinct. They migrate here from further north in the winter and we never see them in the summer. They started coming here a couple of years after we planted that crab tree.

I don't have a problem with being the practical grandma, and the other grandma can spend oogles of money.😂. Athena has SO many toys, I will either just get her money, books or arts and crafts stuff for and present.👍🏼💖🤗

I like your idea of books or arts and craft stuff- both will really be enjoyed. The craft things she can have fun with dad and mom or with you when you visit. Great fun and great memories

Rebecca, both of my granddaughters love books and art/crafts so I always go that route when selecting gifts for them. They are 8 and 12. Got them both a selection of watercolor books and paper along with a nice set of watercolor markers for Christmas this year. The 12 year old has taken art lessons the last couple of years (she is my son's daughter that lives in Ontario so we see her only a couple of times a year). She loves drawing and coloring. The 8 year old is my daughter's daughter and lives in Edmonton so we get to see her more often. She is in to gymnastics this year and also likes drawing. Always has a new picture for me to put up on my fridge when we see her. They both have an over abundance of toys so I tend to steer away from that.
If I recall correctly, I think it was Barbara who was asking about our farming operation? Yes we are organic and grow wheat primarily and barley occasionally. We are the only organic producers in our area so have to be mindful of others growing grain next to our quarters. Two of our quarters are ok as they have bush lines or roads that protect our seeded areas. One other quarter is right adjacent to a neighbor who sprays so we have to have what is called a buffer zone between the crops. We keep that area tilled....it is about 2 straight miles and about 16 feet wide. The wheat we grow is hard red spring wheat which is quite easy to sell as there always seems to be a market for it. Just as a side note for those interested, Canada is the largest exporter of hard red spring wheat in the world. I'm not talking about organic but the traditionally grown wheat. The origin of this type of wheat was Turkey. Read about history of this wheat awhile back and found it interesting.

Rebecca ~ Your jewelry tree is beautiful.
Allie ~ I can feel the sadness of losing Homie. It is so hard to lose a beloved pet.
Joy ~ I had to look up Christmas Pierogi. I think I remember Michelle mentioning making them. It was interesting to see the recipes.
Meg ~ Glad to hear from you!
My quest today has been to learn how to use the Kroger grocery app to clip coupons! Finally got it done...Whee!

Did a spinning workout then to Aldi. On the way back stopped at Dollar General to get distilled water, then walked to the vet to get a prescription for Loki and the dollar tree for some bags for Christmas gifts. Now making chocolate chip cookies for Jess to take to the ceramic party and some for Vince. Admitted, the party isn’t for another week and a half. I’ll just put them in the freezer. Go for my Prolia shot this afternoon. Newcomer bowling tonight
Tracey – Vince has a special checking account for Paypal. When he buys something, he adds that amount plus about $5 to the account
Husbands: Vince has always been where he’s right and it’s always someone else’s fault. I’ve just noticed it has gotten worse lately. Like last night he drove my car to ceramics. When I went out to go to work my headlights were on. I told him when I got home from work and said that I know I’ve sometimes hit the light and put them on continuous from only turning on during the dark. Well, I was told first off that the lights aren’t on that side. They’re on the left along with the turning function. Then probably I did something when I went out to the car to put my gym things in the car only I never even touched the steering wheel. Silence after I said this
I don’t think these cookies even in the freezer will tempt me. They aren’t the homemade kind. I just didn’t feel like making them from scratch. Plus, I wanted to get that big container out of my refrigerator
Ginny – that’s exactly what we’re doing. Trying to keep the lines of communication open. Right now I think Pete is PROBABLY OK. However, one time PJ said something like “no” to Pete and we could see Pete getting upset. Well, a 4 year old WILL say “no”. I’m just worried (maybe needlessly) about what happens when PJ becomes a teenager. Like Allie can tell you and I’m sure we all know, teenagers are a piece of work. I know when Jess was a teenager, many times I’d lock myself in the bathroom otherwise I swear I’d have killed her.
Barbara – thanks, I don’t know if that is the reading or not. Well, I’ll pick up my book Friday then go to the soup kitchen. I’ll find out then. Why they didn’t tell us earlier and have them for us to pick up before now is a mystery to me.
Meg – almost forgot – welcome back
Oh Allie – how very sad about Homer. You absolutely need to be there. It’s so hard, but we really are doing the best for them. Putting them out of their misery and pain. I read somewhere that a person held their pet as the pet was put down so that the pet knew it was loved until the very last minute. How I wish I’d thought of this before we had to put Lexi down. How I loved that cat!
Rita – (((HUG)))
Rebecca – beautiful tree. I remember those candy trains!
Joy – what kind of pierogi did you make? I make them for Christmas. This is the only time in the year that I make them from scratch. It IS a lot of work, but well worth it in the end. What kind of filling did you use?
I’m sympathetic.

I'm more of an "apath"
Although I feel more empathy toward animals than people.
But you took me by surprise. From your posts, I would have put you slightly closer to the apath end of the "empath---apath" scale than to the empath end. Of course, I don't know you in person.

RVRita
I'm pretty sure I am on the autistic spectrum. I also hate crowd, don't like people standing too close to me, don't like being touched, don't like being hugged. I'm sensitive to noise, light, heat. I'm very much an introvert.
But on the other hand "attention to detail" is one of my strengths and I like doing things where I can focus on the details for hours and hours. Like data work or even weeding a garden.

Forgot to say, "Hiya Meg! Great to see you. "
Had a long chat this afternoon with my old uni roommate. We had four terms sharing a flat in Bristol. I hadn't spoken to her for months, but it was as if we had seen each other yesterday. Good feeling. I love that you can just pick up again like that.
My friend G is now back from Singapore, seeing her granddaughter. I had a quick chat with her this morning as she is feeling a bit discombobulated. She was away for two and a half weeks. Big jet lag. Like me, she is a slow readjuster.
Tomorrow afternoon I have my quarterly MDMD meeting in The Lanes. I couldn't go to the last one as I had a streaming cold, so I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. I will pop in to M&S on the way back and pick up some foody bits. Weather looks dry, if very chilly.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

So... Corey's boss got him in touch with a roofing company - the guy came out Monday, and sent Corey the bid this morning. They came out to do the work this afternoon. This is what it looks like when they put six guys on a small roof - one hour and 55 minutes from the time they drove up to the time they drove off. So that includes setup and cleanup.
This was after Corey got done on Monday evening, I know you can't see the surface, but I'm short, and you can see the edge.
During the roofing.
Afterward. I was holding the phone FAR above my head and standing on a rock in order to get a glimpse of the new roof...
Note - that roof section over the sunroom is 24 feet long and 12 feet wide. Corey had put 1/2-inch strandboard up over the joists, so they covered it in waterproof sheathing, tied the new shingles into the roof shingles, and put up drip defenders around every edge. And yes, the shingles matched, because I dug up the paperwork and talked to the roofer that did the house roof.
Oh, and the windows are odd-sized because Corey left some extra to be able to place the windows correctly. They come in next week.
Two hours. And we'll know by tomorrow if they did a good job, because it's supposed to rain for 12 to 15 hours tomorrow.
Sometimes you do get the service that you need.
Not cheap.
But done!
Later,
Love,
Lisa

Meg good to see you again!
I had lunch with my friend today and cleared the air. When I explained that the stress of the past few years really did a number on my memory. It is like the memories are there is a box that I put up in the attic. When we discuss certain things it is like the box gets taken down and I get to look into the box and remember the good memories that we shared. She went on to tell me about a stressful time in her life. I am glad I brought it up in the way I did. Her stress had a different effect on her life. It was not a contest to see who had more stress just acknowledgement of what chronic stress can have on one's life.10 -
Allie, I'm sorry to hear about Homer. I know it will be difficult for both of you. He's also the last tie to Tom, so I'm sure there are extra emotions related to that floating around. Take care of yourself. Protect your heart.
