Thanks for starting this group Jill. Now I too look forward to getting up and jumping on my scale first thing in the morning. I especially look forward to this routine when I anticipate good news because I have used discipline and restraint the day before. I January daily weigh-in challenge.

Morning All,
Didn’t do a great job on the exercise yesterday so had to let the diet take care of things. Will do better today - tennis in an hour but I’ll for sure hit the gym when I get home on top. First time going out of an evening where I’ll be sticking to water over the course of dinner and a concert.

Hello, I’m Heidi. I’m 55, 5’5” and I live in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas area.
My goals for January:

2 - Begin light cardio/stretch/weight exercises

01.02.24 - 166.5 (swelling is going back up)
01.03.24 - 167 (swelling is continuing to go back up)
01.04.24 - 167.5 (calling surgeon to see why I am blowing up like a balloon)
01.05.24 - 167.2 (surgeon says I am okay - here's to hoping it was just water retention!)

Exercise:
1 - Started small stretches (arms above head, side twists) which are going well. The pulling on my
incisions was horrible at first but are less so after a week. I also started doing some modified
bridges in the hopes that my healing abdominal muscles would start strengthening up. I am
walking much better and even walked the entire trip to Costco and pushed the cart. The hubby
still won't let me lift much except the small laundry basket!

It’s time to get my butt in gear. I usually get “on a roll” and do well. I go in streaks and right now I’m on a bad one. It’s time to get back on the good side of the tracks. I know I can do this if I try harder. Sometimes I just get burned out. Today I take my grandsons out for haircuts and then to lunch. I think I will just watch them eat and not order anything. I can eat at home later. I can’t afford (physically) to have a bad day today.
01/07-183.0-(Trend Weight 181.3)- Pizza yesterday that didn’t help my cause but I managed to keep it under my allotted calorie and carb limits. I did get off my lazy you-know-what and get some exercise in. Today I will work to improve my diet choices. The holidays are over and it’s time to get into the swing of things again.

Snow wasn't as bad as expected - we got about 3-4 inches last night, but now it has been snowing off and on all day today - probably got another three inches today. I shoveled half the drive - counting it as a strength day! 😉 Greg is finishing it up with the plow (I wouldn't let him do it earlier - wanted that exercise time). It is beautiful!

Anyway, the good news is I swam for an hour this morning and am determined to get back on track. Have 2, sweet, 10 year old granddaughters coming over for a sleepover over today. They won’t do it at their homes, but insist on coming here🤔. They know what they’re doing👵🏻.
Jan. 6- 181 lbs. busy, fun day with granddaughters. Girls baked a yummy cake yesterday but I didn’t eat any. Good for me😢.

I think I have a hard time throwing out food, any kind of food, even the sugar bombs that aren’t good for anyone, even the kiddies. Lots of Christmas candy and chocolate.5

New start, new year, as always. Every year I feel like I do this. I am at the most weight I have ever been. I even thought about Ozempic, but the price and side effects scare me, and what happens when I stop taking it.
So I am back to my fitness pal. It has worked before tracking food, carbs, calories. My goal would be to loose 80lbs also. After reading other post, I will shoot for mini goals. Increase water, exercising, and decreasing calorie intake. I have not weighted myself in a LONG time.
So tomorrow’s goals…. 64 oz of water, spin bike (nothing crazy), 1500 calories, and record my consumption in the tracker.

I'm Jen. I'm in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, USA. Divorced.
I'm 55, 5'1" and 209lbs. My grown son lives with me. 3 cats, 2 dogs, aquarium, 2 Bairds Rat snakes. I drive horses for a living.
My blood sugar is out of control. (300-500). I've tried Metformin 3x - and stopped. Last time I tried for 6 months but the gastrointestinal side effects were so terrible I couldn't be away from the bathroom linger than an hour - so I quit and gave up. I cant afford anything else.
I also suffer from severe depression. I have been wondering if I have Adhd or its my blood sugar.
I need to lose weight, eat better and exercise. This is such a mental and emotional trial for me.

4. Break the refined sugar addiction
