Still trying to get my phone unlocked. At least I have sorted out my iPad. I had to do a factory reset, which was a pain, but not as bad as I had expected.
I have family home for 10 days so will have to catch up later.

Mo in Mississippi ( @mcmillonmail ) - We do, indeed, move fast, but believe me when I say most of us can't keep up with even half of us, though some do try! Great props to those who do, but I can't.
Congrats on continuing to lose! Not easy when you're laid up and hurting, as many of us know. I'm still trying to train our son and daughter that they need to visit us, not the other way around. It's only the Crohn's disease that keeps me close to home that has finally convinced them, I think. Our son is planning to be here for lunch for Father's Day, and our daughter was here in January. Fingers crossed, we might be able to see her in July when she's in San Antonio for training. If she can get a weekend pass, she'll swan up here, but not holding my breath.
Margaret - So sorry about your friend.
Heather - Just thinking about you, my dear friend. Enjoy your grands, while not letting the germy little blighters breathe on you... you'll do fine, I'm sure. Soon you'll be in recovery mode, and amazing the docs with your post-op progress. Hope your son and his bride enjoy their "holiday," even though it seems awfully strenuous for a holiday! Wouldn't be younger for anything in the world, but wouldn't mind having the energy of those years.
Allie - Dan looks like a tremendously social soul - and our two couldn't be more different from each other if they tried, either. I hear this regularly on the phone, believe me!
Cor's been home all day, didn't realize he wasn't going to go back to work after the dentist until he was on his way out the door to his appointment--but they didn't numb him up for seating the crown, so he had some energy this afternoon, and got some more of the siding down.
So a productive "sick day," for him, and I got one more panel done on my quilt, plus the last two panels completely prepped for quilting. In the meantime, I got another piece half done of what's turning out to be a quadriptych (had to look it up) or a four-piece grouping once it's framed. Realized, in the end, that I'm learning to create a colored page in reverse... color first, then lines.Does keep you from coloring outside the lines... 😜
Pasta and mushrooms with pesto for me... it was punt night, as in "drop back ten yards and punt," or "whatever you want to make for yourself, have at it." Corey's chicken nuggets and tater tots did not sound appetizing... 😄
Later, y'all,
Love,

All your "talk" about pesto Lisa has taken over my food brain..... and I ran into the Grocery Outlet a discount place near me for some yogurt, and saw ravioli on sale for $1.99 one of the fancy fresh brands - it's 4 servings.... so 50 cents a serving is well within the budget and pesto from the freezer from last years basil.... a salad and I am going to be in food heaven in about an hour!

Bahahahahaha! My evil plan is working! 😁😈😄 Truly, the small amount of pesto necessary to add incredible taste isn't a huge number of calories to add to a salad for you, or mushrooms for me. I've frozen a lot of that last batch, and am interested to see how it handles freezing.1 -
SophieRosieMom wrote: »Beth - Wow! How timely that I find info about how infant brains learn to differentiate sounds in a book about memory, of all things, as you are experiencing the same thing training your own brain with the implant.
Now I'm starting to wonder why, as we age, many of us start to suffer hearing loss. I always thought it was due to listening to too much rock n' roll and damaging our eardrums and the "outer" part of our hearing apparatus. But now... are our aging brains just not as keen at matching sounds with words as well? The neurons are getting too tired to "vote" so they are letting sound become mush? And if so, can anything be done about it naturally? Will I ever run out of rabbit holes?Hope not.

A lot of physical things have their source in the brain.
In my husband's case, physically ... as in his limbs, eyes, etc. ... he's OK.
But because of the brain damage, his left leg and right arm are weaker, and especially with his left leg, he feels like it doesn't have feeling, and he loses track of it which makes walking difficult. His leg itself is fine, but there is a significant disconnect between his brain and his leg.
And the reason he has double vision is because his optical nerve was damaged, in his brain. (Whereas my double vision has to do with dry eyes).

I put on my big girl pants today and called the oral surgeon to make an appointment. The consultation will be June 25 so I will put it out of my mind until then. I have two fillings scheduled for June 17 so that should be tended to by the time I have to deal with the extraction. Thank you all for your encouraging words.
mmmm, pesto sounds great.

Heather: Will hold you in my thoughts Friday.
Margaret: Sympathy on your loss.
Allie: Congratulations!
Pip: Very belated, but sincere happy birthday. The big 65 definitely merits a bit of a fuss.
Not much happening here. Since my sports teams are done for the season, I've signed up to work concerts. This Thursday I will be backstage for Stevie Nicks. Also will work load in day shifts at Red Rocks. It's all outside work so no worries about getting enough sunshine here.
Condo pool opened this weekend. I love lap swimming but also want more variety. Does anyone have a preferred site for learning deep water exercises?
Stay well, friends. We can do this.

Machka - I don’t remember what the jeopardy clue was now. The category was places that start with H though.
Annie - I get caffeine from Coke so I get it. I think at a certain point in life people should be allowed to enjoy things without worry. I have told my family that they better not ever try to restrict my diet or junk food addiction when I’m getting up there in age or am in a home of some sort.
Can you move the ice cream into the fridge freezer?
Lisa - That’s a pretty painting. This is the first male teacher I’m working with, as a matter of fact there are 3 males I’m working with here. The other grade 5 teacher is also male, the two classes are small one has 17 and one has 15 students. Too many for one teacher to have them combined, these classes meet up and do different things together. The music teacher is also male. I’m enjoying it.
Is a week or two a longer break than it has been for your gut to act up?
Margaret - Sorry for the loss of your friend.
Beth - I learned about cochlear implants and such a tiny bit in my course, but we did learn about how they work so that if we had a student we could help and understand. I’m glad that it’s working out for you.
Sorry your mom’s dementia is accelerating.
My vision is similar, it’s not an actual eyesight problem I have it’s how my brain interprets what it sees. I’ve tried for years and years hoping to get contacts or surgery, but it was only on the last decade a doctor finally explained it in a way I could understand that I probably would never have that option.
Heather - I think you are doing everything you can to make sure you are as healthy as possible for your surgery. Good job!
Mo - I scrapbook as well, currently working on an album for my daughter’s wedding 5 years ago in July (I was reminded that her sister for hers for a gift for their first Christmas) I’m aiming for their anniversary but it may be Christmas too. 😂
Another good day at school, all afternoon was Jump rope for heart. The two students (brothers)that were able to get the top dollar in donations were given the opportunity to pour buckets of water over the principal’s head. Unbeknownst to the principal the teachers that were organizing it also gave them two buckets of glitter. He looked like a disco ball!
He then went and gave high five’s and hugs to the students. He’ll be washing glitter out of his hair for weeks to come!
I went to Costco tonight, I buy some of our staples there because it’s cheaper and it’s very close to me. I noticed that PlayStation 5’s were on sale and knew that my SIL was hoping to have enough left after his car repairs to buy a new gaming system so I told my daughter. My SIL wants XBox but I received this text from my grandson. I love this kid so much.

Good morning ladies!
Beth I'm learning so much about hearing from you! Wishing you the best for your mom too.
Heather I love that little purse! You are doing great with the surgery prep!
Machka and Pip, your exercise is always impressive. I'm going to try to walk a mile again today.
Today I'm going to tour the closest memory care home. I don't think Dad is ready for that, and I would rather have him home than sell the house and move myself. But it won't hurt to have information.
I hear that if we don't reserve a space now, he won't be able to get in when we need it. That sounds like high pressure sales to me. We will see what they say.
Have a great day! It's warm and sunny here. May you all be happy, healthy, safe and free!

Unfortunately, that's often the way it is. I've heard that you've got to reserve a spot in many places (in Canada and Australia) a good 6 months out. Seems to me, that's the way it was for my grandmother. You can't just decide to move your loved one next weekend or next month. Most of the time, the places are full up and the only way to get in is for someone who reside there to depart.

Morning, all, from the beautiful cool dawn of the Arkansas River Valley, rain later, according to which weather widget you harken to, but not much and not for long.
Won't rattle on too long, as I need to go out and get some pruning done of the branches that nearly knocked me off the mower on Monday. Plus I don't want to get overheated again, so back in again before it's too warm.
Tracey - You're right, the last bad gut day I had was while my friends were here, and that was three weeks ago. Didn't pick up on that, but it's one pattern I had picked up on prior, that the bad days were about once a week or ten days at most, after a two-pound weight gain the day before or that morning. I've been tracking more closely since I began the first infusion. I haven't gone three weeks without a bad day in a long time. Maybe the Skyrizi is beginning to work. The literature says it CAN start to work in as little as four weeks, but it can take up as long as 14 weeks to show results. I had the first infusion six weeks ago now.
I am apparently in baking mode, so I made banana bread for the first time in forever--ate one slice and then packaged the rest up in slices to send with Corey to work (hint for those keeping calories in check - don't keep it around!). He doesn't like that kind of sweet bread or cake, but the guys at work always love it when I go on a baking jag. I think before I go outside, I'll put together a focaccia dough and get it in to proof. It takes literally minutes to put together, no kneading... and freezes really well.
Time to get moving - hugs for them as needs them, pats on the back for those doing well... j
Love,

Annie ... it's not high pressure sales ... it's the reality of extensive waiting lists. There are literally no beds in the area available for my mom in long term care (except one and it's incredibly depressing and small). I've placed applications with places I wish she could be in so that if a bed opens up (i.e. someone dies), she is considered. Put in an application if you like the place. When they call (if they call), you can always say no.

Annie - Lots of good advice from others... I know you get tired of impossible decisions on a constant and ongoing basis. Just sending hugs from here.
Decided I just need to do my yoga inside instead--the branches I want to trim will wait a day or two.
Have a lovely Wednesday..
