Day 64 ~ 07/17: 175.8 Road trip 4hrs north & home again. Sandwich for lunch and thin crust pizza for dinner.
Day 65 ~ 07/18: 175.6 Errands then 5 – 6 hrs ‘on the road’ late afternoon as we look at a replacement car ß postponed. Needed afternoon of R&R.
Day 66 ~ 07/19: Road trip followed by 4 hr work shift. Waaay too many carbs then hit with a sweet craving. Thankfully only ate half of the decadent brownie. Yea Me!!
Day 67 ~ 07/20: 176.6 Avoiding carbs today in hopes of staving off a gain from yesterday. In addition to work and home, I have two big projects 'on the go'; my mind is tired, body is 'surviving', feel like I'm just treading water. But if I say anything to anyone their response is "just quit working!!!!"; but they don't get that 'work' is what helps me from 'getting owned' by family members.
Day 68 ~ 07/21: 175.2 Super tired but got thru the day. Ended with 2 slices banana bread which wasn’t the smartest.
Day 69 ~ 07/22: 177.4 Reminding myself that "You don't have to throw a pass down the whole length of the field to score a touchdown. You can get there one yard at a time.". Feel it's the beginning of the 4th quarter and my QB got sacked and run over last night. But we're still in the game. Quick time out to 'talk about what went wrong. What didn't work." . . . Game Plan: Get back to basics with focus on heart (and mind) health. Signed: "Forever Optomistic".

For the past week and a half, I’ve been consistent with getting in at least 30–45 minutes of daily physical activity, and I’m hoping to keep that going. Food choices can be tricky, though. I do have two planned dining-out occasions this weekend that I’ll need to be mindful of.
Yesterday’s exercise: 20-min cycling, 45-min brisk dog walk. Leg extensions to strengthen my knees. 5-min stretch.

Guess this uptick shouldn’t surprise me. Cocktails and pasta last night, with a bit of an unhealthy snack. There’s also dinner with friends tonight. I need a workout today.

A few glasses of red wine last night, a couple bites of the appetizers and Miso Broiled Ahi w/Mushroom Risotto. So good. Glad I worked out beforehand. Today I'm meeting classmates for lunch at a steakhouse. Here we go again.

I just HAVE to relate the events of last night, but you can skip this if you want to.
Last night was historic! (If you're a baseball fan, that is) I was in attendance at the Phillies/Red Sox game. It was the bottom of the tenth, tie score, bases loaded for the Phils. The rules say that if the catchers glove interferes with the batter's swing, the batter gets the base. All night, the Sox catcher Navárez was trying to frame outside pitches and stretching his arm into the batter's zone. He got away with it until he tried to frame a pitch way outside to Edmundo Sosa...whose bat hit his mitt. Sosa immediately informed the ump of the infraction, who called for a review. Sure enough, the play was ruled catcher's interference, Sosa was awarded first base and Brandon Marsh trotted home from third. Game over.…PHILS WIN!!
Now those who don't know the rule made up all kinds of excuses as to how it was a bogus call....it wasn't. Like Sosa shouldn't have had his foot on the line of the batter's box (that was a reach), it was a check swing so not a real swing (doesn't matter according to the rules), the ump sucked (they sometimes do, but not this time). The last time a game was walked off from a catcher's interference was in '71 and Johnny Bench was the catcher.
Basically, the Sox gave that game away. The Phillies had NO hits....the zombie runner (for extra inning games, Marsh, was on second), then the next 2 batters were walked....one unintentionally and one intentionally...which loaded the bases. The Sox thought they could play the odds, get a ground ball double play and hold Marsh at third. It was a nice thought, but that didn't happen.
We had an obnoxious Sox fan two seats down from our group (my brother's leftover season ticket he sold at a good price). I was SO happy with the outcome of the game just so he could be pissed off while the rest of us were freaking out with joy!
Day 64—07/17— Didn't weigh
Day 65—07/18— 168.2 - My weight is up because I ate wrong and too much...it was too tempting. I am much more able to control my eating when I am on my own.
Day 66—07/19— 166.4 - Weight is down a bit. One more dinner with family and they are leaving tomorrow. I will miss them until they come back for Christmas. It gets a little lonely when your family is not near. 💔
Day 67—07/20— 165.2 - I'm back to normal weight even though I had a Jersey Mike's Italian hoagie for dinner last night. I will take it.
My son's partner took me to Costco and bought me a couple hundred dollars in food! It was so nice walking around getting things in bulk....veggies, fish, nuts.…that will last me awhile. I can hold onto most of my SNAP money.
Day 68—07/21— 164.4- I have a baseball game tonight, so I think I will get another hoagie to take in rather than get a hot dog and fries at the park which costs more than the hoagie and likely more fattening. Looking forward to the next couple days of cooler, less humid weather...that can be tough at a ballpark when the sun is hitting you for 90 minutes till it sets. Will probably just have a snack later before I head to the game.

I am now within 16 lbs of my end goal overall which is ~180, I might drop that to 175 but I need to see my body fat when I get down there. It is going to get harder to lose 1.5 lbs. a week as I get closer, so I am not surprised that I might not hit 189 by 8/23. But I am going to try! As I get closer to 18% body fat, my body needs less and less energy to maintain my current weight, so I expect moving forward to a 1 lbs. to .5 lbs. a week till I hit my goal.

Meh… On the upside, my VO2 max is steadily increasing and my clothes fit better. My fitness stats have improved. Overall, things are slowly headed in the right direction. I had been watching that trend line moving downward, and I knew a "correction" was coming, and there it is. Have a great day, everyone.

actual 142.2 & Average calories in last 7 days 1780. Pretty darn close. In the past 6 months, I haven't been as consistent with IN calories as I have been for the past two weeks.
Week 11 goal 141 lbs. Average calories in kept to 1770.Consistency is key. I've always known this, but somehow wasn't applying it. The data on the left is a colour coded visual of my IN calories since January 6th.
Blue = < 1720
Green = between 1720 & 1800
Orange = > 1800
Each # is a number, I've made the column narrow because the actual number doesn't matter. The column with the number displayed in the average calories IN for that week (Monday to Sunday).
Average calories IN for this week so far is 1765 (it shows 1170 because of the 0 for today).
Now, I need to maintain this with more green and blue days than orange days. I know I will still have orange days, but if I can keep those to a minimum, more progress will be made.
If I had figured this out 6 months ago, I may have already been at my goal. But better late than never! And, I think I needed those 6 months to learn.

Hi everyone.
I am Dawn. I live in SE British Columbia Canada. I am 5'2" (or 5'3"?) and 64 years of age. I have done a bunch of these 100s now, I have lost count lol. I was sitting at 130 for quite awhile, trying desperately to get into the 120s, but gained little by little over the last couple of years. My "ideal" weight should be between 110-118 for my height, BMI, and stuff. At this point I just really want to get back into the 130s.

Day 64—07/17— 140.4 - Very disappointed to see this number for the beginning of this new week. Maybe too few calories yesterday? 1066. Up very early, so I know that is a factor, plus no TMI until after coffee, which is also a factor. I will just keep plugging. 2 jobs today, but lots to accomplish this morning before that. I have my list : - )
Day 65—07/18— 138.4 - Unfortunate that the beginning and the end of week seem to be when my weight calculates the highest. I realize that it is the numbers over time, but it still sucks. I left work at my second (third really) job almost as soon as I got there. The owner/chef's young wife sometimes decides to stay, she starts at 8am. She did so yesterday, 3 tables came in and she proclaimed that she was taking all of them. I'm like "what am I even here for?" and left. Actually it turned out to be glorious. I was home at 4:15 and into my gardening clothes and out into the yard by 4:30. I stopped at 7:30 feeling so happy. I would have still been at work, seething : - ) I have had to turn down shifts in the dining room of the retirement/long term care place, Joseph Creek every time that I work at the small restaurant. I had already given my notice at the small restaurant with the intent of ramping up my shifts at the LTC place - they pay $7 per hour more, the cash tips are the difference maker - as long as I get tables that is. I am scheduled for 5 more weeks at the little restaurant, but am thinking of just pulling the plug there now. I will ruminate on it for a few days. So that is me this morning. I had the electrician here super early, I had to have the ballast replaced on the fixture over my kitchen sink. So happy to have that light back : - )
Day 66—07/19— 139.8 - Not sure how I gained 1.4 pounds overnight. It was a very good day calories in/out. I am eating the dinners that netted me a bathroom trip in the mornings before weighing. I plan on that for 3 days, starting last night. I will put another one of those together during my break on my split shift today.
Day 67—07/20— 138.6 - Surprised at this drop since I got up at 5am. I wasn't even going to weigh because I thought that I might be able to go back to sleep. I am normally up at 7am on Sundays to listen to the classical hour on the radio. It was actually kind of light out at 5am. It rained like crazy yesterday, so I didn't have to water the garden. The garden loves rain more than city water. In this area (forest fire prone) we didn't used to get even a drop of rain from April to November. How the weather has changed over the past 10 or 15 years!
Day 68—07/21— 138.4 - Indulgent day ahead, food and cocktails after work with my friend and bandmate Fred, who is going to replace my outdoor taps for me. Rainy and grey here, making the garden look oh so green. I haven't had to water for days. During my break from my split shift yesterday I actually did some indoor cleaning. Normally any excuse to do stuff outside will trump inside stuff. I am not adverse to working outside in the rain, except for I had to go back to work so didn't want to get too soggy. My one day off will be tomorrow : - )
Day 69—07/22— 137.8 - Calories were mostly from a Mojito made from Mint in my garden, and a shared bottle of red wine over dinner. Dinner consisted of a big bowl of greens gathered from the garden (lettuce, beet greens, mint, basil, dill, green onions) a dollop of greek dressing. An Alfredo that I made with Konjac fettucine (0 calories) a bit of chicken (50 calories) 3tbsp of sour cream between 2 of us, 1/4 cup shredded parmesan between us, fresh garlic from my garden, cracked black pepper, and oregano from my garden. Taps are replaced, a good visit was had : - ) Day off today more rain in the forecast, but I have a few things to do in the garden and I don't know what else yet.
Day 70—07/23— 138.6 - Having our end date of the week the day after my only day off - I work my tail out in the yard on my day off and always see a gain from that.

Thoughts at the start of this round:
My goal from the very beginning has been to lose one pound per week for a total of 12 pounds per challenge. I have never considered that to be too much and I never thought in a million years I would find it this difficult, even at my age and with my health problems. But it’s proved to be nothing but an uphill climb and in most cases, impossible. I am going to lower my goal to 10 pounds per challenge and see if that will feel more right, more do-able. This breaks down to 0.7 lbs per challenge week. I don’t think that is too much to ask of my mind, my body and my spirit! I, again, thank you for sharing my journey with me and allowing me to travel with you on yours. It is reassuring, refreshing, enlightening and inspiring and I am forever grateful.

Day 69 — 07/22—187.2 (Trend Weight: 189.8) I feel quite sure the weight is slightly up because I weighed at 4:30 am instead of my usual 9:30 or 10:00 am. As someone who goes to bed very late, 4:30 am doesn’t leave much room between last snack and wakeup time. Besides, I already may not weigh tomorrow after travel and so much sitting expected today and I didn’t want to skip two days in a row. DGS’s surgery today so out the door I go in a few minutes. Prayers for a smooth surgery for Owen are appreciated.
🚶♀️🚶♀️🚶♀️Day 70—07/23—189.6 ❌ (Trend Weight: 189.7) I really didn’t want to weigh today because I know some of this is travel / false water weight gain and tomorrow will be likely be some water loss if a loss is shown. But curiosity got the best of me. Today it looks like my actual weight and my trend weight have pretty much caught up with each other, but that probably is not likely the case, quite yet. Owen did very well during the 30 minute tonsil and adenoid surgery. They said his adenoids were extremely large. Here is a pics of him prior to surgery. So brave! He was not too happy after surgery.

For the past week and a half, I’ve been consistent with getting in at least 30–45 minutes of daily physical activity, and I’m hoping to keep that going. Food choices can be tricky, though. I do have two planned dining-out occasions this weekend that I’ll need to be mindful of.
Yesterday’s exercise: 20-min cycling, 45-min brisk dog walk. Leg extensions to strengthen my knees. 5-min stretch.

Day 65—07/18— 168.2 - My weight is up because I ate wrong and too much...it was too tempting. I am much more able to control my eating when I am on my own.
Day 66—07/19— 166.4 - Weight is down a bit. One more dinner with family and they are leaving tomorrow. I will miss them until they come back for Christmas. It gets a little lonely when your family is not near. 💔
Day 67—07/20— 165.2 - I'm back to normal weight even though I had a Jersey Mike's Italian hoagie for dinner last night. I will take it.
My son's partner took me to Costco and bought me a couple hundred dollars in food! It was so nice walking around getting things in bulk....veggies, fish, nuts.…that will last me awhile. I can hold onto most of my SNAP money.
Day 68—07/21— 164.4- I have a baseball game tonight, so I think I will get another hoagie to take in rather than get a hot dog and fries at the park which costs more than the hoagie and likely more fattening. Looking forward to the next couple days of cooler, less humid weather...that can be tough at a ballpark when the sun is hitting you for 90 minutes till it sets. Will probably just have a snack later before I head to the game.

FIL fell (again) and is in the hospital. Seems to have bruised a bone near his previous hip replacement. Went to visit yesterday. Exhausting day of 2 hours driving there and back (total 4 hours), plus the hospital time. He was still in the ER waiting for a bed upstairs. He is stubborn as an ox, so I expect he'll be as good as he was before the fall.
I exercised in the morning. Took the dog for a short walk only. I planned ahead and brought some Baby Bell cheese and a few mini cucumbers with us. We stopped at A&W for a Teen burger before heading back home. I really wanted a snack (or a drink) after we returned home, but I just drank water and kept within my calories. I am so thankful for this challenge, because knowing I will post the next day really keeps me accountable.6 -
I feel like most of us that are around our age had our tonsils out around Owen's age.
Back in the day our parents had LPs of (gasp) Bill Cosby. We played that tonsil one over and over before I was going in. The song "ice cream, I'm going to get ice cream" played in my head as soon as you said that Owen was going in for a tonsilectomy. Sad that Bill Cosby turned out to be so creepy. His comedy albums were great, Fat Albert and the gang.

Hi everyone.
I am Dawn. I live in SE British Columbia Canada. I am 5'2" (or 5'3"?) and 64 years of age. I have done a bunch of these 100s now, I have lost count lol. I was sitting at 130 for quite awhile, trying desperately to get into the 120s, but gained little by little over the last couple of years. My "ideal" weight should be between 110-118 for my height, BMI, and stuff. At this point I just really want to get back into the 130s.

Week 1 Actual Weight: 144.2- Hit 142.6 this week, the day before the end of our week, which was so close to my goal.

Day 71—07/24— 138.2 - 2 jobs today. I agreed to do yesterday and today, I'm not sure about the remaining 4 weeks after tonight. I had originally given my notice until the beginning of September since I am going into the hospital for my foot procedure on September 8th (not supposed to drive or walk for a couple of days) and then flying out for my birthday vacation. I have never left a job without lots of notice. I have also worked for people where they and their spouses and kids help out - but unlike the owner's young wife at this job, never take all of the server's tables, or any tables. I had my first restaurant job at 14, so 50 years in and around this business. Protocol is "off". I have already kind of checked out, but I will fulfill the last 4 weeks if need be. Several times when she does this I just leave, like last Thursday when I left 10 minutes after I got there because 3 tables came in and she took them all with none going to me. I normally work alone there, she starts at 8am so there is no reason for her to stay past 4pm. Leaving meant that I spent some extra glorious time in my garden : - ) I easily could have taken a well paying job at Joseph Creek (long term care and independent living food server) for that shift, but it was too late by that time. Rambling this morning. This is what is on my mind.
