Hi. I’m an unretired (by choice) senior from central B.C., Canada. Back for another round. After being an absolute backsliding turtle for the past ?18 months, my Ultimate challenge goal is to lose 20lbs.

Day 57 ~ 07/10: 176
Day 58 ~ 07/11: 176.4 called in to work morning shift.
Day 59 ~ 07/12: 175.8 Did morning orientation for 1 hr, then returned to work afternoon shift.
Day 60 ~ 07/13: 177.4 Worked a split, morning shift then split the afternoon shift. “Kids” were visiting so didn’t want to be gone all day.
Day 61 ~ 07/14: 176.4 Worked afternoon shift. Wow, I’m tired after doing the morning shifts etc.
Day 62 ~ 07/15: 176.8 Took my car with a friend to pick up kayaks she bought. Looking fwd to more paddling 😊 Mowed bottom third of lawn. Awesome 9 ½ hour sleep!!
Day 63 ~ 07/16: 176.4 Another sunny day. Just wish it was the beginning of June rather than mid July! Yardwork is on today’s agenda.

Thoughts at the start of this round:
My goal from the very beginning has been to lose one pound per week for a total of 12 pounds per challenge. I have never considered that to be too much and I never thought in a million years I would find it this difficult, even at my age and with my health problems. But it’s proved to be nothing but an uphill climb and in most cases, impossible. I am going to lower my goal to 10 pounds per challenge and see if that will feel more right, more do-able. This breaks down to 0.7 lbs per challenge week. I don’t think that is too much to ask of my mind, my body and my spirit! I, again, thank you for sharing my journey with me and allowing me to travel with you on yours. It is reassuring, refreshing, enlightening and inspiring and I am forever grateful.

That holiday (for some strange reason) put me on a drunken binge although no alcohol has been involved. I hope I’ve turned a corner here and will start making some progress again. I’m tired of “staggering around” when I could be making leaps and bounds!
🚶♀️🚶♀️🚶♀️Day 63—07/16—191.0 💠 (Trend Weight: 191.1) No change in weight. Trend down a notch. I am so excited about seeing Superman tomorrow. Very tall grandsons (age 17 & 19) have chosen Golden Corral while downstate for the movie. Such a treat for rural folks like us. My DGS who is autistic (age 9) will also be going with us along with my own adult autistic son. Young DGS has only been to the movies once but is finally able to handle the sound and large colorful graphics (I think). It is going to be fun. I’ll try to be reasonable at the buffet but I know that no matter what happens it will only be a couple of days to shake it off. Honestly, the real challenge is eating bad things for four days straight every week when DD and other DGS are here. They’ve become part of my lifestyle in their current situation and I’ve got to adapt in the healthy ways that keeps me focused on my overall health and weight goals. It’s right in front of me, I see it clearly. I’ve just got to reach harder, reach farther, touch it, then grab it up and make it my own! This is a disappointing end of week weight for sure. I gained .6 instead of losing .7. I have a lot to make up for in the coming weeks but I am going to continue on with my original goals and see what happens. I will chip away at it in the biggest chunks I can from week to week. Observation looking over my week: My meals were very good, my exercise and water much improved. However, my snacks at night were ridiculous. I really have made a pig of myself. I feel like a drowning person who sees a buoy in the water but the nighttime snacks just keep pushing me back, further and further away from that buoy, away from saving myself. It’s sink or swim!

@Jon4189 I do use Zwift and I love it! I meant that I would have bought their bike instead had I known about it. I figured out how to make my spin bike by installing a Favero Assioma power pedal. That's what the app needed in order to read my power output and cadence, and now I can ride using their Z-Power mode. It's good enough for my purposes.
Your bike will have greater functionality. I get a fantastic, fun workout out of this thing. It's the only high intensity cardio that my joints are happy with.
My favorite ride recently was in the France world: "The Croissant". So pretty! I've slowly made it to level 15 so far. I've never been a fast rider.
I enjoy this a million times better than spin classes. Have fun!!!

Very Cool! I just started on Sunday with Zwift, I am up to level 5, just did my first FTP test too! I use to be much faster in my 40's and late 30's. I use to race a bit. I need to get my FTP back up. As I get closer to 175 lbs I will switch from weight loss to FTP Training. I am going to do zone 2 training mainly for the next 2 months, and get my base back up while losing weight. Trying to go VO2Max and FTP training right now would be counter productive, but zone 2 will help with my base and help me lose fat!
I need to find the: "The Croissant" 😁

Got a dance workout after work and also walked during my breaks yesterday. My body needed yoga, but my brain needed the dance workout. The dancing was fun.

Official week 9 results for Calories IN average is 1781. Good day yesterday. Exercised, went shopping and walked the dog. Calories OUT according to my FitBit are 1857, but that seems wrong. Normally, on a day like yesterday, I'd have more like 2200 - 2300. I'm certain at bed time yesterday is was 2400. But all just estimates anyway, so I logged 1857 from FitBit.
I kept within my calories and even had ice cream and a Reese's cup. It was the smallest bowl of ice cream I've ever had, but it was enough to get the creamy satisfaction.

About buffets:
Having worked in and around the restaurant business for a long time, I feel like the best use of a buffet is to eat the expensive stuff and skip the cheap stuff (breads, rice, desserts, potatoes, pasta). Restaurants hope that people fill up on the cheap stuff so that they can make a bigger profit.

I am Dawn. I live in SE British Columbia Canada. I am 5'2" (or 5'3"?) and 64 years of age. I have done a bunch of these 100s now, I have lost count lol. I was sitting at 130 for quite awhile, trying desperately to get into the 120s, but gained little by little over the last couple of years. My "ideal" weight should be between 110-118 for my height, BMI, and stuff. At this point I just really want to get back into the 130s.

Thoughts at the start of this round:
My goal from the very beginning has been to lose one pound per week for a total of 12 pounds per challenge. I have never considered that to be too much and I never thought in a million years I would find it this difficult, even at my age and with my health problems. But it’s proved to be nothing but an uphill climb and in most cases, impossible. I am going to lower my goal to 10 pounds per challenge and see if that will feel more right, more do-able. This breaks down to 0.7 lbs per challenge week. I don’t think that is too much to ask of my mind, my body and my spirit! I, again, thank you for sharing my journey with me and allowing me to travel with you on yours. It is reassuring, refreshing, enlightening and inspiring and I am forever grateful.

Very tall grandsons (age 17 & 19) have chosen Golden Corral while downstate for the movie. Such a treat for rural folks like us. My DGS who is autistic (age 9) will also be going with us along with my own adult autistic son. Young DGS has only been to the movies once but is finally able to handle the sound and large colorful graphics (I think). It is going to be fun. I’ll try to be reasonable at the buffet but I know that no matter what happens it will only be a couple of days to shake it off. Honestly, the real challenge is eating bad things for four days straight every week when DD and other DGS are here. They’ve become part of my lifestyle in their current situation and I’ve got to adapt in the healthy ways that keeps me focused on my overall health and weight goals. It’s right in front of me, I see it clearly. I’ve just got to reach harder, reach farther, touch it, then grab it up and make it my own! This is a disappointing end of week weight for sure. I gained .6 instead of losing .7. I have a lot to make up for in the coming weeks but I am going to continue on with my original goals and see what happens. I will chip away at it in the biggest chunks I can from week to week. Observation looking over my week: My meals were very good, my exercise and water much improved. However, my snacks at night were ridiculous. I really have made a pig of myself. I feel like a drowning person who sees a buoy in the water but the nighttime snacks just keep pushing me back, further and further away from that buoy, away from saving myself. It’s sink or swim!

@JimnKC I've noticed in the past week your calories IN have gone up. Is everything alright?
Stress and exercise could be a reason ;)
Or the truth may be "I can resist anything but temptation"
Carbs and sweets will always be around me-all it takes is a little taste of any carb to get me started.
Just recently went in for annual checkups and my A1c is amazingly 5.6 and luckily my weight gain has been minimal.

@the_reflex 4 days of sugary food in a row. You didn't say what your goals are. For me, sugary foods are inflammatory. I feel puffy the next day. I love them. But I've found over the years, the less frequently and smaller amount I eat, the less I crave them and the less inflammatory they are.

Carbs and sweets will always be around me-all it takes is a little taste of any carb to get me started.
Just recently went in for annual checkups and my A1c is amazingly 5.6 and luckily my weight gain has been minimal.

So glad it is nothing out of the normal. I hear you about carbs and sweets. Thankfully, I'm no longer in the office and those 'office treats' are no longer part of my life and my husband has really reigned in the treats that end up in our grocery cart. I'm going to a baby shower on Sunday and I'm already worried about what will be 'on offer' for food. I'm hoping for a big veggie platter and will do my best to fill up on veggies. Great to hear about your A1C. I have a doctor's appointment today to talk about my high cholesterol. I will likely come home with a prescription for a statin. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I feel like we have a pretty solid diet. But all the research I've done has indicated that most cholesterol in our bodies is actually manufactured by our bodies and high cholesterol is more genetic than diet. Thank you for the cruise well wishes … 4 weeks and counting.

The graphs on the left are from my Apple Watch/health app. These improvements coincide with my goals for this 100 day challenge. It has been good to climb out of that slump. I'm seeing improvements across the board for cardiovascular fitness.
Last night I did a short Zwift/spin workout followed by a short total-body strength workout. I ended with a 10-minute stretch cooldown.
Off to work.

Good Morning, Friends
Sorry I have been AWOL. My son and family are in town for a week and I have been spending time with them. Only get to see my grandkids twice a year so I see them as much as I can. But now I feel disconnected to everyone. I need to catch up. And we have a new week in progress. I hope its a good one for everyone.

Day 65—07/18— 168.2 - My weight is up because I ate wrong and too much...it was too tempting. I am much more able to control my eating when I am on my own.
