It worked! I can honestly say, had I not posted yesterday evening, I'm certain that I would have eaten more. But pre-posting gave me that extra piece of motivation/conviction/strength/what ever you want to call it. I wasn't hungry. I was stressed. I know it may sound like a visit day wouldn't be stressful and we went to the beach and had a great time. My youngest son is developmentally disabled and lives with support. When we visit, we are constantly 'on alert'; plus the drive; it is exhausting. Thank you to everyone in this challenge for helping me stay accountable. My updated tracking sheet for FitBit actual OUT calories (which were pretty darn close to my estimate). One more day and my IN will be all green! 7 day trend weight is heading downward. Four days in a row of 143s. Average week 9 weight is 143.6.
Today, we are heading downtown for a ROM Walk to The Grange, also known as …. Dawn's old stomping grounds. For those who don't know Toronto and Dawn: Dawn used to live in the Kensington Market area. The Grange is right beside (15 minute walk). The best part for me is, we are members at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), so we'll be able to go into the AGO after the ROM Walk to cool off before heading home.

The yellow blip in the 10 day calorie average column is because of that red 4th of July moment. I'll be glad to see the red drop off of this 10-day chart. Yesterday was good: food was within goal and the workout was great.

@deepwoodslady re your daughter and bringing snacks —> Have you ever spoken with your daughter about this? Does she support your journey?
My husband does all the grocery shopping, he used to buy all sorts of snacks. He knows I'm trying to lose weight. He does not agree with me that I should lose weight. But, he has scaled back on buying snacks. When the snacks are not there, then it is a lot easier to not eat them.
Another strategy that just came to me… before they arrive, could you prepared healthy snacks (cut up veggies, fruit, healthy muffins or cookies), then when they break out the unhealthy snacks, you can bring out your healthy snacks and then everyone has more choices.3 -
Donna, your daughter is there every weekend. You will figure it out. You once did not that long ago, you didn't eat what she was having and you saw a nice loss after that weekend. I know that you can do this, you have proven it in the past. Once you truly decide to lose, you have it in you to accomplish it.

Good Morning. Hope everyone has a pleasant Sunday.
Day 57—07/10— 165.4 - You will have to forgive me....I am too upset to go read all I missed. My dog is in surgery right now and I am worried about him AND the $6,000 vet bill. I set up a Go Fund Me Page but I won't post the link because I don't want to look like I am panhandling or anything. But there was no question of NOT having this surgery for him. And I am worried…hoping he will come through ok.
Day 58—07/11— 166 - My little guy is home, but recover will take a couple weeks. He has to wear a collar when I am out so he doesn't lick his stitches. He is understandably lethargic, which is just as well because he is not allowed to be too active. The stress has my blood sugar higher than usual, but still within parameters.
Day 59—07/12— 165.6 - Passed a pretty peaceful night with the doggie even though he jumped on and off the bed during the night which he isn't allowed to do. I have ordered steps for that so he doesn't continue to do that. Have to do the pills-in-the-peanut-butter trick, but it works. About to make eggs and toast for breakfast.
Day 60—07/13— 165 - Official loss of 25 pounds. Five more and I will be at the weight I was when I reached my goal on MFP 12 years ago.
I had to put the cone of shame back on Qamar...he started licking himself. I hate to do it, but I gave him his meds so he should get sleepy and relax.
Still not sure about food today. I have so much anxiety right now with my little guy and the surgeon's bill. My son and family are coming down from Boston tomorrow and I don't feel very social at the moment. I hope I can push it behind me for the week. Oddly enough, my appetite has been lower than usual as a result.

Hi everyone.
I am Dawn. I live in SE British Columbia Canada. I am 5'2" (or 5'3"?) and 64 years of age. I have done a bunch of these 100s now, I have lost count lol. I was sitting at 130 for quite awhile, trying desperately to get into the 120s, but gained little by little over the last couple of years. My "ideal" weight should be between 110-118 for my height, BMI, and stuff. At this point I just really want to get back into the 130s.

Week 1 Goal: 142.4 (seems lofty, but I was at 143.0 for two days in a row at the end of the last 100)

Day 57—07/10— 138.0 - I have been out in the garden picking my dinner for later tonight. Nice to see that number this morning, it blinked on 137.8 until settling. In a rush now lol, I took too much time in the garden.
Day 58—07/11— 137.0 - Yahoo to that number! I ended up leaving my second job at 5:30 last night (I have already told the owner that I won't be working there past September). His young wife once in awhile decides to stay and make it a 10-12 hour day for herself. Normally she leaves. It is a small restaurant, barely enough for 1 person such as myself. She had a very busy day and made lots of tips, I guess that she wanted more. I wasn't into it, I had already cleaned up everything from her busy day and she took the only table that came in. I said "you are staying?" She said yes, so I said "okay, I am leaving then, bye". I was home in a flash and got to work on those last 3 rows of 9 in the potato garden that were overcome with tall weeds and bindweed wrapped so tightly around the potatoes. It is done!!! Well worth leaving work for. If leaving work caused me stress it was soon eliminated with digging, lunging, squatting, untangling and re-hilling : - )
Day 59—07/12— 136.4 - Wow. Well, I was going to take something different out of the freezer for tonight's after work dinner, but seeing how that what I have been eating all week is netting this type of result I will have the same thing: 1/4 cup of beans (white kidney which I portioned into the freezer), .75 cup of rice, green onions from my garden, dill from my garden, cucumber, bell pepper, tomatoes, 3tbsp sour cream. I have been having 6 water crackers and 3-4 tbsp of hummus as an appetizer. Overall, this combo has me going to the bathroom before my weigh in, so that is definitely a factor unlike in some previous weeks where I didn't. Still planning on indulgent unhealthy/bad food for my Monday night with a couple of cocktails. It would be great to have a buffer.
Day 60—07/13— 137.4 - Up a pound, but it was to be expected for several reasons. My plan was to cut the grass during my afternoon break, but it was 32c according to the radio and downtown where I live is often 3-4 degrees hotter than the airport where the temperature comes from. Lots of pavement soaking up the heat so that between 4 and 5 o'clock it is the hottest part of the day here. I did manage to move everything and get the lawmower out and ready to go, but that was it. When I got home from work it was still hot, but I had to get the grass cut so that I could put the sprinkler on my parched garden. I was outside quite late, and my last bite of dinner was at midnight and by 5 after 12 I was comatose and in bed. I am one of those people who gets comatose after a meal, which is probably why I am more of a grazer than meal eater except for dinner. I had to eat it or I would have been way too low on calories for the day. Working in the heat always does a number on my weight (body terrified and holding on to fat?) except for last Tuesday when I immersed my body in my neighbour's kiddie pool. 146.4 might have just been a fluctuation anyway. Weighed before coffee and bathroom trip this morning. Today, and for the next month I will be into cherries for my all day food at work, strawberries are finished and cherries are in season.
I, for the first time, hit my fibre goal! Loving what MFP is saying that I would be in 5 weeks (which never happens). I burned a gazillion calories through activity yesterday:

Thoughts at the start of this round:
My goal from the very beginning has been to lose one pound per week for a total of 12 pounds per challenge. I have never considered that to be too much and I never thought in a million years I would find it this difficult, even at my age and with my health problems. But it’s proved to be nothing but an uphill climb and in most cases, impossible. I am going to lower my goal to 10 pounds per challenge and see if that will feel more right, more do-able. This breaks down to 0.7 lbs per challenge week. I don’t think that is too much to ask of my mind, my body and my spirit! I, again, thank you for sharing my journey with me and allowing me to travel with you on yours. It is reassuring, refreshing, enlightening and inspiring and I am forever grateful.

My daughter’s temptations feel like they are in my face (although she doesn’t encourage me). I don’t know what is going on with me but it ‘s time to put a pin in it or I will end up gaining back all that I’ve lost this round. I have very very specific goals. I need to get back with the program. Daughter leaves Sunday night about 7:00 pm but I need to do better between now and then too.
🚶♀️🚶♀️🚶♀️Day 60—07/13—192.1 ❌ - (Trend Weight: 191.1) ! I prep cooked at 10:00 last night to give myself two very nice diet approved meals. One for tonight and one for the next day, most likely. It should help me get back on track. I just need to get through today and right now, I’m feeling disgusted enough to be strong. Hopefully it will stay that way. I’ve still got time to start turning this thing back around somewhat before the end of week 9. I don’t think it’s possible to reach the week’s goal, but I do think I can put a dent in it and get back on track towards goal in the weeks to come, IF I play my cards right. I need to get some intentional exercise in today too. That usually goes by the wayside when DD and DGS are here, along with all the stop-bys that come to see them. Today she is working until about 4:00. I am babysitting but can hit the stationary bike hopefully without too much interruption or demands from him. I had forgotten how hard it is to fit in “me time” with littles in the house! In any case, It’s time to take a good look at myself in the mirror, as Michael would say. It’s time for me to change my ways.

Obon is a Japanese Buddhist event that honors deceased ancestors with traditional music and dance. In Hawaii they are held in the summer months at different Buddhist temples. My mom & I go every year to Paia Mantokuji, a temple founded in 1906 by a community of Japanese immigrants and is the temple my Japanese grandmother was a member of. We go to honor her. We had an amazing day yesterday, including a lunch out. It was delicious and worth the calories, even though I couldn't quite achieve my calorie goal. I'm back at work today, and I'm not having trouble hitting my goal during my work days. Food cals will be back in the green today.

Hi everyone.
I am Dawn. I live in SE British Columbia Canada. I am 5'2" (or 5'3"?) and 64 years of age. I have done a bunch of these 100s now, I have lost count lol. I was sitting at 130 for quite awhile, trying desperately to get into the 120s, but gained little by little over the last couple of years. My "ideal" weight should be between 110-118 for my height, BMI, and stuff. At this point I just really want to get back into the 130s.

Day 57—07/10— 138.0 - I have been out in the garden picking my dinner for later tonight. Nice to see that number this morning, it blinked on 137.8 until settling. In a rush now lol, I took too much time in the garden.
Day 58—07/11— 137.0 - Yahoo to that number! I ended up leaving my second job at 5:30 last night (I have already told the owner that I won't be working there past September). His young wife once in awhile decides to stay and make it a 10-12 hour day for herself. Normally she leaves. It is a small restaurant, barely enough for 1 person such as myself. She had a very busy day and made lots of tips, I guess that she wanted more. I wasn't into it, I had already cleaned up everything from her busy day and she took the only table that came in. I said "you are staying?" She said yes, so I said "okay, I am leaving then, bye". I was home in a flash and got to work on those last 3 rows of 9 in the potato garden that were overcome with tall weeds and bindweed wrapped so tightly around the potatoes. It is done!!! Well worth leaving work for. If leaving work caused me stress it was soon eliminated with digging, lunging, squatting, untangling and re-hilling : - )
Day 59—07/12— 136.4 - Wow. Well, I was going to take something different out of the freezer for tonight's after work dinner, but seeing how that what I have been eating all week is netting this type of result I will have the same thing: 1/4 cup of beans (white kidney which I portioned into the freezer), .75 cup of rice, green onions from my garden, dill from my garden, cucumber, bell pepper, tomatoes, 3tbsp sour cream. I have been having 6 water crackers and 3-4 tbsp of hummus as an appetizer. Overall, this combo has me going to the bathroom before my weigh in, so that is definitely a factor unlike in some previous weeks where I didn't. Still planning on indulgent unhealthy/bad food for my Monday night with a couple of cocktails. It would be great to have a buffer.
Day 60—07/13— 137.4 - Up a pound, but it was to be expected for several reasons. My plan was to cut the grass during my afternoon break, but it was 32c according to the radio and downtown where I live is often 3-4 degrees hotter than the airport where the temperature comes from. Lots of pavement soaking up the heat so that between 4 and 5 o'clock it is the hottest part of the day here. I did manage to move everything and get the lawnmower out and ready to go, but that was it. When I got home from work it was still hot, but I had to get the grass cut so that I could put the sprinkler on my parched garden. I was outside quite late, and my last bite of dinner was at midnight and by 5 after 12 I was comatose and in bed. I am one of those people who gets comatose after a meal, which is probably why I am more of a grazer than meal eater except for dinner. I had to eat it or I would have been way too low on calories for the day. Working in the heat always does a number on my weight (body terrified and holding on to fat?) except for last Tuesday when I immersed my body in my neighbour's kiddie pool. 136.4 might have just been a fluctuation anyway. Weighed before coffee and bathroom trip this morning. Today, and for the next month I will be into cherries for my all day food at work, strawberries are finished and cherries are in season.
Day 61—07/14— 138.6 - Up 1.2 pounds from yesterday, up 2 pounds from the day before. Sigh. No change in my eating or activities (calories in/out). I did however weigh much earlier, and before the bathroom. Those 2 things make a big difference right? Indulgent dinner night tonight, with cocktails. My only non "school night" of the week. Many things on my list for this morning before getting ready for work.

All green IN for 7 days! ROM Walk yesterday was interesting. Exercised in the morning. Didn't take the dog for a walk … it was just too hot for her even at 8pm. 7 day trend weight is coming down.
Yesterday's splurge —> Before the ROM Walk, got a Mango Slush at Real Fruit. Didn't realize until after I ordered it, it was 490 calories! It was filled with fresh mango. It was delicious and filling. But I kept thinking, there is no way I'm going to stay under 1770 today with a 490 calorie drink.
Yesterday's challenge and success —> Around 8pm my husband had the munchies and asked me "If I made a really good dip and opened a bag of chips, would you eat any?". I said "I have 48 calories remaining for today. Maybe I'd have 3.". I told him to drink a glass of water and wait 15 minutes. 15 minutes later he asked "What if I made popcorn?". I opened MFP logged 1.5 cups of popcorn and said "If you make the popcorn and put it in two bowls, one for me without butter or oil, then I'll eat 1.5 cups." He did!. Of course, he made black garlic butter for his and asked me if I wanted to try it and I said "No". I enjoyed the plain popcorn, but I know if I tried his, I'd want mine with the butter. I'm calling that a success.
Full disclosure … I logged 1.44 cups of popcorn, otherwise my calories IN were 1772. I'm not going to see amber for 2 calories.I'm not going to make my Week 9 goal, but I'm in the 143s for 5 days in a row and this morning's scale was before TMI. Looking back at my data, I've never been this consistent with daily IN. Previously, I'd have a few days at say 1500 to 1600 and a few days at 2000 to 2200. I know some people do that intentionally for calorie cycling, but I wasn't. I was just going over. I'm going to continue with this approach for at least a few weeks. I do like a glass of wine with dinner occasionally, so, I'll need to figure out how to fit that in.

Thoughts at the start of this round:
My goal from the very beginning has been to lose one pound per week for a total of 12 pounds per challenge. I have never considered that to be too much and I never thought in a million years I would find it this difficult, even at my age and with my health problems. But it’s proved to be nothing but an uphill climb and in most cases, impossible. I am going to lower my goal to 10 pounds per challenge and see if that will feel more right, more do-able. This breaks down to 0.7 lbs per challenge week. I don’t think that is too much to ask of my mind, my body and my spirit! I, again, thank you for sharing my journey with me and allowing me to travel with you on yours. It is reassuring, refreshing, enlightening and inspiring and I am forever grateful.

Day 60—07/13—192.2 ❌ - (Trend Weight: 191.1) ! I prep cooked at 10:00 last night to give myself two very nice diet approved meals. One for tonight and one for the next day, most likely. It should help me get back on track. I just need to get through today and right now, I’m feeling disgusted enough to be strong. Hopefully it will stay that way. I’ve still got time to start turning this thing back around somewhat before the end of week 9. I don’t think it’s possible to reach the week’s goal, but I do think I can put a dent in it and get back on track towards goal in the weeks to come, IF I play my cards right. I need to get some intentional exercise in today too. That usually goes by the wayside when DD and DGS are here, along with all the stop-bys that come to see them. Today she is working until about 4:00. I am babysitting but can hit the stationary bike hopefully without too much interruption or demands from him. I had forgotten how hard it is to fit in “me time” with littles in the house! In any case, It’s time to take a good look at myself in the mirror, as Michael would say. It’s time for me to change my ways.
