Just a few questions from a curious mind here. 👋
•What are some of your favorite beginner home exercises?

•What does your week of area routines if you follow a plan of such look like for you? (Leg day, chest day, back day, etc)

•What YouTubers or Pinterest Boards inspire your fitness?

•What are some basic, beginner equipment to have on hand?

I put together a really simple routine that covers all major muscle groups in about a 40-min workout. I'm not trying to do much more than just get stronger and more in shape at this point, so I don't have any specific focus days right now.

This thread contains links to several ready-made exercise programs, including an entire section of bodyweight exercises:

Which lifting program is the best for you?

Some good body weight exercises would include push ups, crunches, burpees (those are intense), squats, mountain climbers, and planks. You would want to start with sets of just a few reps at first and then increase amount and intensity as you get more experienced.

If you have just a few items like some dumbbells, a bench (can even be a chair or any other small flat surface) or a pull up bar, you can get in a good variety of full body exercises.

Your illustration show suspension straps and rings, maybe indicating interest. After years of filtering basic calisthenics into resistance workouts with weights, I added a "TRX" style suspension trainer and later a homemade minimal version of the Bullworker "Iso-Flow" (that I'm proud of) providing for self-resisted movements. As a male I learned a lot about using suspension straps effectively with a door mount (as opposed to overhead) from the Larie Midkiff Youtube channel:

1What are some of your favorite beginner home exercises?

    • walking
    • FitOn low impact short workouts. My favourite is Debbie Siebers 15 minute Step and Sweat
    • Anything you enjoy doing

2 What does your week of area routines if you follow a plan of such look like for you? (Leg day, chest day, back day, etc)

    • I use both FitOn (a free website & app) and BeachBodyOnDemand (BOD) approx $150/year
    • Both have high quality workout videos
    • I like FitOn for warm up, Pilates, yoga and cool down
    • I like BOD because all of their programs include a calendar, so I don’t have to come up with a schedule.

3What YouTubers or Pinterest Boards inspire your fitness?

    • I don’t know about inspire my fitness but I read articles and watch videos from:
      • Coach Viva
      • Precision Nutrition
      • Dr Stacy Sims
      • Dr Mary Claire Haver
      • Institute of Human Anatomy
      • Talking with Docs
      • Legion Athletics

4What are some basic, beginner equipment to have on hand?

    • initially, body weight only. Get form right before adding weight
    • Find something you enjoy. Exercise is something I get to do. It is not something I dread. Once you’ve found something you enjoy doing, then you’ll know what equipment, if any, you may need to continually progress
    • How my home gym has progressed over 8 years:
    1. Yoga mat
    2. a few low weight dumbbells
    3. Resistance loops
    4. Jig saw puzzle mat
    5. A weight rack with weights to 30lbs
    6. Resistance bands
    7. Basic exercise bench & step combo
    8. Wall cleats for the resistance bands
    9. SelectTech adjustable dumbbells to 52.5lbs
    10. Pull up/chin up bar —> still not installed
