... Last night we went to our annual Folkfest(ival). I did better than most years in the eating department. Neil went with his friend last night but the friend is going racing tonight so we will take him. I will try to behave myself but the food is very tempting. It is nice to try things from another country that you may not ever try otherwise. Last night we went to Germany, Ukraine, Caribbean, Philipines and called it a night. I am not sure where we are going tonight. I expect Scotland, Ireland and perhaps Hungary.

    ... Gayla

Gayla, if you eat food from all those other places, I don't think you will end up "Hungary!!"    Sorry, I couldn't help myself.:blushing:

 Gayla, yes you will be very satisfied for sure, pick up some ideas for making some new meals that have a twist.

Barbie, have a great time, congrats on the baby! Take lots of pictures for us.

Looks like rain today, but that is okay. We need to get the rivers up before winter sets in, better ice fishing. My sis and her son are going to a pow wow today, never been to one. I will be at work, and with the staff we will be having our own pow wow:bigsmile:

Going down to the gym in the morn if I don't have a headache, just going to set the clothes and shoes ready and go!

Catch all of you soon, time to get moving.

    Happy Saturday!!!

There is already a problem with putting the tile down. The floor has to be cleaned up and smooth before laying the tile, our salesman thought it could be scrapped but the installer said he needs a machine to really get to the concrete. Oh well, what ever it takes as long as it gets done this week.

Gayla, I hope you had a good time at Folkfest, and Neil enjoyed himself. I especially loved and laughed at Barb's play on words, she is one funny lady.

Marilyn, I just looked at all your critters and one is cuter than the next. Where is the pow wow your sister and her son are going?

It is a gloomy day here this morning, we had rain during the night but I think it is supposed to clear up. I am hoping to just stay in and relax today since I am exhausted from yesterday's outing.

Marie, how are you and how is the back end?? :blushing: :blushing: :blushing:

Jake, please let us know everything is ok in Indiana.:heart:

Barbie and Jake, drive safe and have a wonderful trip. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

    Have a great day!

:flowerforyou: we are at the Seven Feathers Casino Hotel in Canyonville, Oregon about seven hours south of where we live......we had tearful good-byes with the pets----we've never left them this long

:flowerforyou: After being on my feet so much the last two days, it was good to sit in the car while Jake drove.....in a few minutes I'm going to look for the fitness center.....i don't stay down for long....

:flowerforyou: we stopped at Subway twice today---veggie delight the first time and chicken and veggies the second time.

:flowerforyou: Sandy, you probably already know that remodeling always takes longer and makes a bigger mess than you expected...I wish you patience as you go through the mess

:flowerforyou: Gayla, good luck to you and Neil as he prepares for his new life adventure

Hi everyone. I am madly packing and have to call my sister but I wanted to pop in and tell you that early tomorrow morning I am on my way to Winnipeg, Manitoba. My sisters and I will be gab, gab, gabbing all the way for 11 hours on the train. I won't be back until next weekend and will not be taking a laptop so will be out of touch.
Have a great week everyone. Take care and keep smiling. Gayla

    Good Sunday morning all.

Looks like rain for the next week or two, hope it stays warm though, that makes it only half bad:laugh:

Sandy, My sister was going to Round Lake, it is about an hour away from here. She usually goes to Shannonville
to catch the show there, she has done so for a while now. Never been to one myself, but maybe next year I might have the time to do so.

:grumble: Up five pounds this week, in total from last week too. Not going to get down about it just try harder this week and next to get back to the 160's again. Got to find a book to dive into to help loose any stress I am having. I have lots around it is time to get sitting and read!:ohwell:

I'm officially a causual at my Part time job now, feels better somehow. But I'm sure if the shifts become available I will be putting in a good amount of time throughout the month. But, TO REMEMBER THAT I CHOSE TO GO CAUSUAL IS TO FIX MY BODY PARTS THAT ARE BREAKING DOWN, THE GYM IS WHERE I NEED TO BE !!! Don't forget that Marilyn, anyone please remind me of that sentence too if I am posting about working a lot. I'll print that off and post it around the house!

Well it's time to get the few dishes done and get ready for the day,

    Luv to all

Hi everyone, just home, got the pets fed and pottied, me is fed too, yes I did go potty too.:blushing:

Quiet day on the board, everyone is enjoying their day it seems, good!

Rain is turned to a mist, felt so nice on the face walking out from a hot and sticky kitchen. Back to Tim's tomorrow and a cool 8 hours in the air conditioning, sore bones after work, but if the sun is out that really helps to lay on the lounge and soak the heat rays, soothes the aches.
Sierra is at my side and she is saying mom it's time for bed. She is right too.

So to all a good night and happy dreams.

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: we just came back from a walk around the neighborhood around the motel...it's still over 80 degrees but we kept walking until both of us had logged over 10,000 steps......we had dinner at Perko's (not the most low-cal clean eating, but not too bad---veggie soup, chicken breast, veggies) with the same friends we spent the afternoon with at the motel pool......I did some good jogging in the pool while we talked so it's been a pretty healthy day.

:flowerforyou: I'm taking the internet access one day at a time and feeling grateful for each day that I can be in touch with all of you.

    Happy Monday, Happy New Week!!

Barbie, sounds like things are going well on your vacation. You are still focused, so you and Jake don't have to worry about that little extra eating you are doing. Just have fun and relax!! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

Marilyn, you sound like you work very hard and long hours. I admire anyone who takes care of the sick and/or elderly. You are to be commended for a job well done.    Make sure you take care of yourself first, you are the most important person.

My son leaves for London for six weeks next Sunday so tonight we are taking him for dinner. He has a new girl friend which I have already met, but we haven't had much time to get to know each other. She will be taking care of his greyhound, Cruzer, who will miss him so much. My son brings Cruzer here to play with Daisy a little, although Cruzer gets tired quickly since he ran so many races before they retired him. I hate that greyhounds race, he was so timid when my son got him, it took him six months to finally get happy, he loves my son so much.   I hope Lisa will continue to bring Cruzer here while Rob is gone so Cruzer has some constancy in his life for the six weeks.

I am going to talk to my knee doctor again today about more details for knee replacement. I have several questions but the biggest one is since I am not having terrible pain do I do the surgery now? It is an uncomfortable pain and hurts more with stairs or long walks. Do I wait or do it now before it gets worse? Decisions, decisions.

    Have a great day!!

    Sandy

PS. Still doing pretty good with calories, just haven't exercised much with my basement torn up.

    Sandy,

Both of my family members who have had knee replacement frequently say they wish they had done it SOONER. If you are a candidate for this surgery, that means your knee is already damaged and it isn't going to get better on its own. If you "baby" it, the pain may lessen, but at what cost? It is no fun to live your life walking on eggshells for fear of aggravating it. Also, if you have to "baby' it, that could put a strain on the OTHER knee ,and you could end up needed two.:noway:

Of course, ultimately, the decision is yours, but putting off the inevitable is really not a decision, but may, instead, be following the path of least resistance. Goodl luck with whatever you decide.:flowerforyou:

:flowerforyou: I is already over 80 degrees here which is very hot for me......I walked for over an hour until it got too warm----Jake is playing golf---he went early since it is expected to reach 100 degrees today and he wanted to be finished before it got too hot.

:flowerforyou: Sandy, we have friends who had a rescue greyhound and he was the most wonderful dog.......he had a favorite place on the couch and if you sat there, he would stare at you until you moved and let him get up......after years of racing he had become a "couch potato" except for short bursts of running during the day

:flowerforyou: Marie, if it's hot like this where you are, I know why you're staying inside so much..I hope the new low carb plan will work for you

:flowerforyou: Marilyn, enjoy your simpler work schedule and enjoy those pets
enjoy them extra for me since I'm away from mine for two weeks and I already miss them.

:flowerforyou: we did yoga together before Jake left for the golf course----we brought our yoga mats and the DVD to play in the laptop computer----I love technology:bigsmile:

    Let's all stay cool today
I'll go to the pool later

I am going to do the knee replacement, I agree with Barb, why put it off, it is not going to get better only worse. I did find out I will be in the hospital for 3 or 4 days, but that is okay with me, I am a good patient.  I just have to figure out the best date to do the surgery, I would like it done asap since I would like to go to Arizona during the Fall and it is a six week recovery. My step daughter wants to come and help me but she can't come until October and she would only stay three or four days, so I am not sure I want to wait until then. Will let you know once I know.  I do have a surgery date for October 7th but that can be changed.

Jeffrey, so good to hear from you. Sorry about Day, is it something serious? Is Sam ok? You sure have your hands full again, maybe that is why God is not letting you find a job right now, you are needed at home.

The guys are still here putting down the floor, hope they finish today but I doubt it. We are going out for dinner tonight, so I hope they finish working before we have to leave. I didn't even peek to see how it looks I want to see the finished product.

    Hello everyone;

Sandydur  Thank you, yes I have been working two jobs for six years now, one at Tim Hortons' and the other at a care centre for patients that at between home and a LTC. I enjoy both, but my knees are in bad shape and arthritis is comming in strong. So I had to take away hours from one job to give me time to rebuild to a healthier state, then maybe be on some kind of treatment plan, so I can return to my full hours again.

Barbiecat:heart: Hear you I'd miss mine too, but enjoy the time away from them:smile: . Take your days at each moment enjoy it all! :drinker:

:flowerforyou: Jeffrey <<<<<<Strength vibes>>>>> to you and Day :flowerforyou: Prayers for things to work out peacefuly.
