Can't sleep long enough to do any good. Keep getting woken up to fix things at home and work. I think I got more sleep at work yesterday.0

I've been lucky to miss the ockiness going around (especially working at a hotel - people bringing their bugs from outta state!) but that kiddo went back to school this week so it is only a matter of time now. One of the desk girls is sick so I came in and disinfected everything but it is always that kid that gets me sick. She'll get a bug at school and of course I'll smooch on her before the symptoms have cropped up and then all of a sudden...bang...sick.0

It's almost always my kids but I'll have to blame my clients this time. The kids just started back to school Monday.
Hi Jon, Welcome back. You have had a busy six months. Puppies can be a handful!0 -
I love night shift, but it does have it's down side in that, when you're sick, you usually just have to work anyway, because there's no one to cover for you.0

Better living through pharmacology. I think the Z packs are helping.0

other than planned working-vacation trips out of town, i actually haven't missed a day since i went to nights.
(yeah, i know that's all pun-like and everything...my apologies.)
i couldn't say that when I was a daywalker, though...there were days the alarm would go off and i just wouldn't have it in me to get outta bed and haul my carcass in here.
i just had my quarterly "sit down/chat/get stuff off your chest" visit with my boss today, and i think it kinda surprised him to hear that, quite literally, i had nothing for him...i actually get up and look forward to coming in to work, i like my co-workers within my department, there aren't any unreasonable demands on me, and most nights are not much different than if i'd stayed home and read a book or some other such mindless pursuit.
it really is a pretty sweet gig...i'm lucky in a lot of respects.
now, having said that, i'll get a panicked call from someone over something completely insignificant and it'll hit the fan, right?
...and i've made up my mind that i refuse to get sick until the weekend. it's supposed to rain in Nashville, and all I was gonna do was lie about and be shiftless and watch football anyway. win/win.

My weekend is almost over. I'm finally kicking this cold. All I want to do is go XC skiing tomorrow but there is a planned birthday party/bowling party at 3 in the afternoon. I wonder how much flack I would take if I skipped it?0

Agave nectar was great for my (now ex) husband. He loved it in his coffee. I drink my coffee black. Uhm..recipes were kinda iffy because of it's liquidy-ness. My mom likes splenda and I used it in baking just to get the MASSIVE BAG out of the pantry.
Regular sugar for me usually. I don't crave a lot of sweet things normally. I'm typically a salty/savory kinda gal.
Years ago when I started with the health and weight loss, agave nectar was recommended to me by my doctor. I only use it with coffee. Never had any bad reactions to it and I found it takes very little amount compared to say traditional sugar. I still use it today but again just for coffee.

Turns out? It's really hard to sleep when you can't breathe. @sufferlandrian-you got any extra Z packs?0

I typically use agave in my oatmeal, can't tell the difference between it, sugar, and maple syrup for the most part. A little bit too much however and it's way sweet.
In my experience for anything, one third of the tablespoon serving size gives me the sweetness of a packet of real sugar. YMMV.hamptontom wrote: »and yeah, Jim Henson and Mister Rogers are big-time heroes of mine. they manufactured a lot of smiles.
Same here.
Have you caught the new 'muppets'? I haven't been able to see recent episodes because of my new hours, but the ones I saw were funny. As well, they are certainly not for kids.0 -

It's good to have a pharmacy stocked full of drugs that I can use.0

Just got caught back up from Sunday evening. I hate that the cooties are going around. I thick I have a cold trying to set in but I'm going to ignore it so it goes away Peeps at work are sick too; I woke up Tuesday morning with messages begging me to work Tuesday night bc the other night shift only has 1 person right now and she had a nasty stomach bug. Blah.
Ohio was cold but not too bad today. I've been logging my food even though I've been a bit over everyday. I head home tomorrow afternoon so it's back at it Sunday. Lots of slacking on the couch has done wonders but family drama sucks. Def ready to head back south.0 -
I had to crawl out of bed the last 2 days and do some training for some school stuff... it was so bad towards the end of the day, my tablemates were like, "It's ok, it's almost over..."0

So again I was off Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and I slept for almost 18 hours between Tuesday and Wednesday. ToM finally started today... :grumble:
SSP's dog Gunner was sick. He took him to the vet and they did a bunch of tests and blood work to no avail. SSP thought maybe he got into the owner's(because SSP rents) rat poison they left on the floor in the garage. Gunner licks EVERYTHING and he might have licked/ate it....
He died on Wednesday morning and not in a quiet in his sleep way either. He left a BIG mess... So I helped SSP clean all of THAT up and then bury him in a quiet glen on the property.
I'm finally back to 164.6, so the "Holiday Four" are finally gone! Now on to that last 10 pounds... *sigh*0 -

Oh my...that is horrible!0

The dog, not the haircut!0

Whew! I was worried....
It was truly a bunch of suck while it was all happening. I had some SERIOUS sexy times planned and it all just was bad timing. SSP tried to give me the 'oh it doesn't bother me that my dog is dying' bit but then his drunk texts and phone calls said otherwise.
I went to SSP's house Thursday night while he was working and cleaned everything, did all of his laundry and dishes and cooked a few meals for him. He doesn't have anything to worry about for a couple of days and can just do what he has to to grieve. I'm also trying to give him as much support as he'll let me.0 -
Thanks for the info on agave, people!0

@lilaclovebird - that haircut is wicked cute- frames your face very well!0

Trying to decide if I want to commit to a vivarium of not. Our cichlid tank lost it's final inhabitant prior to Christmas and my fiance doesn't want maintain a tank anymore so it is up to the kiddo and I whether we do another fish tank or a vivarium...thoughts?
Cool thing happend over (my) the weekend. Every year my MIL gets us tickets & a table to a local music venue from a charity auction she puts on. We walk in to reserve a table and get tickets for the show we want & I recognize the girl at the desk as a co-owner of a vintage/handmade shop that I have frequented in the past. She & I share the same style and we tend to pop up at the same events. We aren't friends, but friendly. She says that all of the tables are already sold out but then she says "Let me make a call." Couple of minute later, she magically gets a table released and it is ours! I'm never the person who has any "ins" or connections due to my anti-social ways but just being part of the same sub-culture as another paid off this time! Cool!
