@lilaclovebird - Sorry about the dog, but the hair cut turned out nice.
@Frankie_Felinius - Go with the Vivarium. It's much easier and with the right plants, can be a cool learning experience.

Doesn't he have more than one dog? Or did? How is the other pooch? Ugh. Poor his little family...

He still has Brody, she's a terrier mix and she's almost 12 I think.
She's doing well as can be expected. Chad says she curls up by the rowing machine. She never jumps on the bed anymore. But she's eating well and still communicating when she needs to go out and when she is hungry.

He's not going to get another dog until Brody passes though.

Elka LOVES amphibians so I'm thinking the vivarium will be a hit. And we can have a small "fish pool" within the tank for some itty bitty fish.

@lilaclovebird Poor old gal. But now Gunner and Tessa are frolicking happily in doggy afterlife...maybe together!

Oh Tessa is alive and well! Her and Liam play regularly.
Sandi, is in doggy afterlife. With Gunner and Cubby and KC and Tara and Lessie and Blue and Cally and Lucy and Schmulie and Brandy and Tracy...wow I've known a lot of dogs in my life.

Oh and SSP mentioned he might be picking up one of his parent's dogs...Wendle, I think is his name...He's a pitbull mix.

Sandi, Sandi... :s My apologies to Tessa!

I've known a few that are there too...Buster, Austin, Buffy, Cleo, Hershey, Barkley, Tony and kitties too.

    Wendle...hilarious. Love that name.

I don't know for SURE if that's his name...I was cleaning at the time so only half paying attention to SSP's talking.

Totally. My focus was mostly on getting doggy barf out of the tile grout....I HATE tile..and carpet...I want sealed concrete floors with area rugs that can be replaced.

    Oh my...that is horrible! :'(

I truly hope you're talking about Gunner's death and not my hair.... :grimace:

I'm sorry... can I admit that I almost LOL'd... thinking typical chick response?

    *duck*

Sorry to hear about the dog, though.

We had carpet in our living room while Elka was a baby and learning to crawl/walk but as soon as she was older, out went that carpet! Hate it! Now we have all wood floors, which is what I prefer. Sealed concrete would be nice too! Especially with all of the four legged friends in the house...

So I was driving to work and they were talking about the Powerball numbers and I also drove by the billboard stating 900 million. I hadn't realized how big it was somehow and it got me thinking...of course I started with what would I do with that kind of money? I thought of the stuff we probably all think of and then I thought about how I'd want to help. Not so much my family (sad, but true) but animals...hungry kids...mentally ill...etc. It was overwhelming. It made me think, well shizz....I don't want that kind of money. How much of a weight is that to know how much to give without hurting yourself long-term? To whom does it go? What about ______? Didn't you want to help them too? I don't think I'd be an outrageous spender by any stretch of the imagination but I might feel terrible for enjoying my money when I could help so many. And what do you do with your time? I'd feel bad if I didn't spend my time philanthropically as well because a job isn't needed with that money. It is weird...I'm typically SO not a bleeding heart kind of person...well...kinda....deep inside...but I'm not the type of person who DOES anything about it...but if I had the means to where I could...I feel I'd have to.

Just an interesting thought...I went from thinking "Ooh, I'd move across country, have a nice house and blah, blah, blah" to "Nevermind, I'd rather win a much smaller sum and be able to just be able to have a nice fat cushion but not enough to change my lifestyle too much or my responsiblities to people less fortunate." Not that I wouldn't want to help them...but the weight of the decision making and what not...too much for this gal...

I've heard stories where winning the lottery basically ruined people's lives...people always asking to borrow money, divorce, one even ended up dead (suspected murder), that kind of thing. Plus, I think it takes a lot of wisdom to be able to handle that kinda money, y'know? Like I just don't think it's all that simple to go from poor or even average income, to being rich overnight, and a lot of people just aren't emotionally or mentally equipped to handle that dramatic of a change.

I had to crawl out of bed the last 2 days and do some training for some school stuff... it was so bad towards the end of the day, my tablemates were like, "It's ok, it's almost over..."

Years ago, I sort of figured out early on as to what the secret of success can be for many people (including myself) when it came to studying, and that was forming a great study group where everyone was eons smarter than I could ever have been! Haha!

Wow. How did I suddenly become the warm spot? 23 here. They said it would be in single digits. We aren't going to make it. The temperature is coming up, not down. Hope my pretty snow doesn't melt.

It is a balmy 16F here in Springfield, MO, and I wore a pair of thick, knitted tights under my work pants. And I'm glad I did.

Fleece Lined leggings under my pants...still cold, but it could be worse. I'll be walking my rounds here in a minute. Hope to get the worst over with before it hits the 20's like they say it will tonight. :confounded:

I thought about my fleece leggings, but they're super bulky under pants, and I only have to go outside to walk to/from my car, so went with the tights.

Hanging at about 3F here right now. Spent the weekend with the family at an indoor water park. After two days of swimming and a terrible nights sleep in a crappy bed, I really don't feel like working tonight!

I just read an article in the local paper about how we (especially IL) are leaving in droves. Some states are gaining seats due to population increase (you) and some are losing seats (me).

    See ya soon! :)
