Glad you are back to lead us on this Holiday Challrnge My goal is to get into a size 14 by Christmas after being in Xl for so many years. I can do it, I will do it.. Lets roll!!!!!!!!!!!!0
-
I am with you and very motivated...want to be close to 280 or under (better) by Christmas!!!!0
-
Hi Colette and Marie! Glad you ladies are over here!
With my impending job termination, my goal for the next 2 months is to stay as stress free as possible to keep my migraines at bay!! Also I really need to try and keep myself accountable with workouts and to try my hardest to keep eating; stress and my tummy don't get along very well!! So those are my goals through the end of November, other than trying to find another job of course.0 -
Sorry to hear about your job. Everything will work out fine, you'll see.
Fixing to go for my walk so nice outside. Sammie my doggie will love that.0 -
Hey there, LLCers!
Savery - being offline for a couple weeks, I must've missed the info regarding your pending job termination - I'm so so sorry.... I've got my fingers crossed for you!!!
Ok, LLCers, my goal for October is to get to 250. I was 271-ish this morning. 20 pounds is probably not doable in one month, specially for a slow loser like me, but that 250 has been my magic number for a while now - I just need to get past that threshold before the holidays get here!
Here is my menu today:
B: scrambled eggs, 2 slices bacon, 1 sausage link
L: 2 hamburger patties w/ cheese, mayo, mustard and steamed veggies
chicken breasts stuffed w/ pepperoni, string cheese, and mushrooms and steamed veggies
Sn: Jello w/ whipped cream0 -
Res: I found you! Thanks! And...I see you too Marie.
HI all -- I've been out of whack for way too long and have gained. Getting back to it!! Res invited me to your thread and hope it's okay if I join you all. The only way I lose is to go low carb and low sugar. I've also recently joined Snap Fitness, so look forward to getting on a really good workout schedule. I'm 48 and that takes some moving to lose!! LOL I look forward to getting to know you all. Good luck to us all in meeting our holiday goals and lookin' good at those holiday parties!!0 -
Hello my fellow LLCers!!!
I'm in.
Saverys - sorry to hear about your job. Hold fast to your faith and know that everything will work out for you.
My goals for October
1. Lose 10 pounds - this is doable for me - I know it is.
2. Incorporate more aerobic workouts into my daily routine. ( My daughter and I have started walking/jogging in the park for an hour everyday. It amounts to 3.5 miles. May increase it to 4 miles.)
3. Drink half my body weight in water (ozs).
4. Plan my meals. (Didn't accomplish this goal last month. Will try again.)0 -

I've got a few goals....one of them is job related, as well! I am working, but ....well, it is complicated! I am a career counselor, so i'm helping myself now! Very interesting. Anyhoo, my goal is to stay on track as much as I can, and to exercise at least 5x a week. I also will make sure I plan my meals. That seems to be a big thing for me. When I do it, things work well. I am quite organized, so that won't be a problem. (most days!) Be well everyone!0
-
Thanks sassysouthern! You're so very right!
Glad you found us again profjan!! Great goals!!0 -
Hello LLC Family

Tammie you can do it we are all brhind you.0
-
I have tried :
1.) Up my water
2.) Up my Net Carbs
3.) Eating 6 small meals instead of 3 big and 2 snacks I know do 3 meals , 3 snack and try to eat them every 3-4 hours
4.) Up My workouts
5.) Eating more protein and less carbs
I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT ELSE TO DO0 -
Oops meant Now not Know <---- :blushing:0
-
@ tammie: when you upped your workouts did you also up your net carbs/calories?0
-
Yeah!0
-
How long did you try sticking with that method? I know from reading that it says it can take up to a month sometimes for your body to recognize the changes you're making.
Weren't you eating a lot of grains too when you upped your carbs?
Maybe try this method again, but instead of upping your carbs with grains, go with more fruits and veggies.0 -
I stopped eating Oatmeal, Rice and of course i can't have bread or anything like it so i have been sticking to Veggies, Some fruit and lean protein. I hope i will see something soon Im just trying to figure out where to keep my carb intake at and calories i have read so many different things that i get lost on what is right for my body0

Well, end of day 1 back on Atkins plan again. Just a few more days until I'm in ketosis, which I love - cuz my appetite goes away and the cravings go away too!
Hubby and I love this time of year - in October, we always get into watching scary shows - we have the first 4 seasons of A Haunting from Discovery Channel on DVD, and we've been watching those every night. Funny thing we noticed - every single episode has a long dark hallway that one of the scared characters has to walk down in the dark.... Isn't that funny? We just watch each episode and then when it appears, we crow in unison - "Look honey, a long dark hallway!"
LOL, the things that tickle my funny bone, guess you have to be here.....
Dinner tonight was Atkins-friendly stuffed chicken - here's my recipe:
Chicken breasts
chopped mushrooms
Hormel "baby" pepperoni - the small round pieces
Colby-jack cheese sticks
Bacon
Spicemate sweet and smoky rub
Cut a pocket in the breast long-ways - and stuff with 1/4 of a colby-jack cheese-stick and a handful of chopped mushrooms and the small pepperoni, wrap a piece of bacon around the whole thing, then rub with the sweet/smoky rub. Bake in the oven at 325 for about 40-45 mins, until done. Yum!
Ok, gonna finish this episode, and then head for bed.....0 -
Love all the positive goals here!!
RES: your stuffed chicken recipe sounds so good! I'll be giving that a try -- probably tomorrow!! Thanks!
It's about my bedtime! Busy day, and have to watch the grandbaby (8 month old little girl) tomorrow, and she gives me a run for my money. She's a better personal trainer than Jillian Michaels!! She's crawling all over and pulling up on everything in site...and making me chase her everywehre!! Wears me out.
See you all tomorrow! Looks like we all had a good on plan day today --- GOOD FOR US!! :bigsmile:0 -
HAPPY TUESDAY!!! I'm up early and ready to get the day started! Down 2.2 lbs today after being on plan yesterday -- so worth it!
I'll check back later -- hope you all have a great day.0 -
Happy Tuesday!

Thstd great Sassy/ 2.2 lbs. Just take a little effort and most of all determation. We can all do it..
here is a link on the dukan diet I still have a lot to learn.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1267106/The-ultimate-diet-The-French-kept-secret-years-Now-protein-rich-Dukan-Diet-coming-Britain.html It seems to explain it pretty well.0 -
Hey there, ladies!
Joy - WTG on 2.2 pounds down! You're right - we're heading in the right direction!
Marie - Yum, your menu today sounds good - how do you like greek yogurt? I haven't tried it yet, some people say it's got a stronger taste than other regular yogurt?
I'm right on track with eating, will probably go over my calories today, but my carb count should be good. Just trying to get through my first few days being on track and get into ketosis.....
Oops, got a meeting I forgot about, back later!0 -
Thanks, Res! We are all headed in the right direction. Still a little time before the Holidays to get better lookin' for the parties!!
Calie: your menu looks good to me! I read the link, and will be giving it a try. I've had greek yogurt before and it's very strong (in my opinion). I did get some nonfat yogurt (that link I read mentioned nonfat yogurt being fine....am I understanding this correctly?) I will also be drinking a protein shake after working out, but that shouldn't mess things up. Thanks for posting your menu -- very helpful.
The little 8 month old granddaughter will be here soon - it's my afternoon to watch here (Tues and Thurs), so I may not have time to check in til later on. She keeps me on my toes -- crawling all over the house, pulling up on everything she sees! Whew! So....I'll check y'all later!0
