This one is definitely going to be a challenge in terms of accurate logging. I feel like I can get away with using a calorie estimate based off a commercially available dessert once or twice a week, but 30 days of estimating is going to be a stretch.

Sounds like a great excuse to learn to bake.

Although, baking is pretty much pandora's box.

During the ice cream challenge I started a new exercise program, my eating was all over the place because I was playing with calorie amounts, and I still lost 3-4 lbs. I am so in for this. I just wish you would have posted earlier, I could have picked up something yummy at the farmer's market.

Yay! I was regretting my lack of participation in the ice cream cleanse.

Day 1: Two M&M cookies - baked with my son today. 2 out of 5 stars.

Stick with items that have labels, or items that you've made at home. Items that do not have labels, I tend to limit myself as well.

Helllll no. There's too many awesome things that I routinely avoid. Are you going to eat 3-week old Hostess cupcakes from a highway rest-stop vending machine, or are you going to get a nice fresh Ron Bennington from Molly's?

Sounds like a great excuse to learn to bake.

I already do. And it is. I was on a streak back in January/February where I was baking 2-3 times/week. I was giving away most of what I was making, so I'd only have 2-3 servings of something instead of the whole thing. The problem was, the more recipes I looked at, the more I wanted to try, and then the more I looked at, and the more I wanted to try...

Please enlighten me! I see that this topic is at "food and nutrition", but I cannot believe that this could be serious... If so, I so want a diet based on sweets and icecream...

    Based on? No.

    Including? Absolutely.

I want to like this. LIKE!

Those type of desserts are not even worth it IMO ahaha.... so I'd opt for something more fresh; or something unique I hadn't tried before.

    i'm so IN...

Day 1 - A sour cream donut rolled in cinnamon sugar (still warm, they were baked off 10 mins before my shift ended so naturally i had to get one to scarf down on the way home) and two rootbeer float flavored marshmallows. Deeeeelicious!

Day 1: Brown Butter Snickerdoodles (2), Edy's slow churned vanilla with a sprinkle of cinnamon

I'm a new convert to brown butter recipes. I tried one for chocolate chip cookies a couple of weeks ago that was divine, and this one was awesome too. The difference between butter and brown butter in a recipe is similar to the difference between margarine and butter. Brown butter is a much richer flavor. It gives the cookies' flavor a kind of toffee undertone.

It looks like I need to pay another visit to Trader Joe's! Here's my contribution for today. I'm on my phone, so hopefully the resizing worked. French toast made from two Martin's potato slider rolls topped with not quite a full serving of Jeni's honey + banana ice cream.

    you did it!

that looks fantastic, how was it?

I thought of you as I was making it! It wasn't what I had imagined, but it was good, and satisfying with a protein latte. I probably should have used syrup too, or something, because I think the egg overpowered the sweetness.

Starting with a bang. Sorry, no photographic evidence, just picture a blob of pale yellow.
Day 1: 450 ml lemon sorbet, 486 kcal. Okay, won't buy again; should be more extravagant for that amount of calories.

aw, that's a shame that it was too eggy...but if you make it again now you know to add some maple syrup and/or powdered sugar in the mix.

speaking of maple syrup, i still have to try my pint of Steve's Sunday Morning....maybe tomorrow....

Day 1: Some amount of freshly made strawberry ice cream at the Charlotte Fair. Probably the best strawberry ice cream I've ever had; got to watch it being churned and scrapped out, which always makes things taste better. Super creamy, not too sweet, nice peices of strawberry. nomnom

Well, Im bound to have one of the following after dinner tonight, as well as at least one cocktail...

    baklava
    3.5
    turkish delights
    6
fig & spiced plum compote, coeur ala crème, pistachio crumble
    14
chocolate & honeycomb nougat, almond cake, blackberry coulis
    14
north italian dumplings, nut mince filling, maple syrup ice cream, pashmak

Not sure which one takes my fancy the most at this stage, and open to suggestions

As I'm over 40, I can't do this every day as even a small amount of dessert goes straight to the hips and stubbornly resists all excersise.

In! I'll be lacking in the cake and doughnut realm though. Stoopid gluten free life.
