No change AGAIN this week, I think I’ve officially hit a pleatu. :grumble:  I know I should be happy that I’m not gaining, but I’m soooooooo close to my goal that it’s killing me to be at a standstill. I’m going to try to up my calories a bit and buy a new workout DVD and see what happens. I don’t normally eat any of my exercise calories so maybe if I change up my calories and exercise routine I might see a change.

Congrats, pmaria! I'm glad you don't have to go through month after month of disappointment. I hope the rest of the group is as lucky as you! Happy and health 9 months to you!

    Hey all!

So I'm back at square 1, trying again. I'm still not giving up though. I'm heading to the gym with a co-worker after work, so hopefully that will be good. DH agreed to keep our gym membership going through winter, so we're hoping to be more dedicated.

News - on cycle 2 of TTC. I feel hopeful this month :) I just did my first at-work OPK... I went to the "big" bathroom on another floor with a dixie cup! I wanted to start testing early this cycle so I can be sure to catch the LH surge - I've never got a + so I want to cover all my bases. I've been suspecting that I have a short luteal phase, so I'm hoping this will disprove that.

I have to say - I'm suprised no one said anything about my pics from my last post - I was certain you ladies would love it! LOL

Ooh, Pam, what pilates video are you doing? I've been doing one I downloaded from exercisetv with Lizbeth Garcia and just ordered another one of hers from Amazon. She does my most favorite prenatal pilates dvd, but I decided there wasn't much point in using that one.

I was at 132 yesterday morning (2 lbs from goal) and back up to 133.4 today. Probably water weight. I made Asian lettuce wraps for us last night and it was sodium city, but pretty yummy. Plus, I did 45 minutes of Just Dance 2. I can't believe how sore I am or that I burned 230 calories! And the time flew by because it was so much fun. That's definitely getting thrown in the regular workout mix.

    Good Morning Ladies!
I took another test this morning
just cause i like seeing the two
lines and got another BFP. I'm
super excited and so glad I get
to share our news with our family
    during Christmas. :)

I guess DH was right he told me
to stop obsessing and let it just
happen. He thinks that we bby
danced on the right day because
    of natural instinct.

Jalara: DH was excited I told him
as soon as he walked through the
door but i'm thinking it really hasn't
sunk in yet. Maybe after our first appt.

Have a good day all! Baby dust to all!

pmaria, I'm really glad it worked out for you this cycle, but you might refrain from the "we just relaxed and it happened" talk should you talk to anyone else TTC or give anyone advice. For someone trying longer than a few months, it's a pretty frustrating statement to hear. I just don't want you to unknowingly offend someone. I think it's like "It's always in the last place you look." Of course, or you wouldn't keep looking. Lots of people end up getting pregnant when they give up entirely and so people say, "Oh it's because you relaxed and weren't thinking about it." I think it's just meant to happen when it happens. Just my two cents.

Sorry for the tons of posts....
    Happy Monday...or not.
So I have been HORRIBLE the last 2 days! Yesterday DH, a friend, and myself went to Mongolian BBQ and I stuffed myself to well over capacity, and today I stopped at Tim Horton's for breakfast and I only have 350 cals for the rest of the day! UGH  Stupid me! I guess I have to Zumba tonight if I want dinner. AF has already dwindled down to almost nothing. I really don't know what to make of it...:ohwell: I was so excited, but now I don't know what is going on... I think I am going to order OPKs and HPTs on amazon so I can see if anything elese is going on.

Jalara - funny you mentioned the photo. I did love it but between work and home the comment didn't get saved....LOL

I woke up this morning and noticed (because they were yelling at me) that my abs were incredibly tender. Just got up from my chair now and my buttocks are tender now (abs have subsided). Here's the crazy thing. I have done nothing special. I did notice yesterday that when I was standing at the sink, my butt was quivering....LOL And then again yesterday when I was helping my hubbie in the workshop I got a cramp in my abs, right under my rib. This sucks! LOL I didn't even do anything to deserve it this time. Still goign to throw the pilates video on...I believe it's Pilates for Dummies.....HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA That would be me.

Kcurtis - I think what you're experiencing is probably really normal after stopping the BC methods.....that's why they suggest giving the hormones a few months to regulate.

Pmaria - Hubbie and I were just wondering if this was our cycle if we'd have enough notice to tell family at the holidays. It's highly unlikely, but still fun to think about.

Wow, I didn’t realize how long it had been since I’ve been on here! Lots to catch up to!

Kcurtis05 – Congrats for AF! Soon enough we’ll be congratulating you for missing AF :P

Jalara – That’s the cutest cake, Happy Belated Birthday!

Pmaria – Congrats!!!!! I’m so exited for you and to be honest a little jealous too :P I wish you health and happiness!

I wish I could say that my time away from the site was because I was too busy, but it honestly was because I hit a low. I was a day late this month and didn’t feel my regular pre-cramps and got myself really exited, but it turned out to be nothing. I got AF and was so discouraged I ate everything this in sight, well… brownies with cookies n cream ice-cream to be exact! AF is almost over and I gained a pound! So here goes cycle 14 of our TTC. I’m so sick of TTC! So I’ve decided to redirect my focus to my weight loss (something I was supposed to be already doing but it’s so easy to get tunnel vision when TTC).

    Here are my goals:

I want to hit my halfway mark by the new year, so that means I have 2months (really bad diet months because of the holidays) to loose 10 lbs!
I plan to drink at least 80oz of water everyday!
I plan to workout a minimum of 5 days per week!
I plan to make my lunches at least 4 out of the 5 workdays!
I plan to eat breakfast at home every morning (so no more Timmy’s)
I plan to stay within my calorie goals even on weekends!

I hate when AF changes it up and gets your hopes all up. Such a witch. And it's so hard to get through the next few days without feeling sorry for yourself. You've got my support. You can totally focus on the weight and stop getting tunnel TTC vision. :flowerforyou: (Because if I can do it, anyone can... since I obsess about EVERYTHING! LOL)

Happy Monday! Again...New start because this weekend did not go as well as planned....I am having a hard time shaking these last few pounds! I really need to get into a better work out routine. If nothing else I'd rather maintain than gain!

Getting excited for Hubby's return! Slowly going to get the house back to normal over the next few days. Staying pretty busy at work so hopefully that will help. Puppy training gave us HW to walk 3-4times a day to teach him to behave on a leash, that at least forces me to get out and walk but you have to keep stopping and starting which is frusterating.

AF is gone, but the extra pound she brought with her stuck...going to up up up my water this week bc I know most of this is water weight! Grrr :grumble:

Jalara - I loved the cake! Too cute! Good for your hubby to do that for you!

KCutis - I thought of you when i was painting this weekend...there is no way you weren't burning calories when you were fixing up the rental! I'm sorry AF is acting weird! But at least there was SOMETHING! That's always a good sign...she's trying!

Good morning ladies. My husband and I have been ttc for over 2 years. I was diagnosed with PCOS at the beginning of the year and started on Metformin to help regulate my insulin/sugar to maybe jump start ovulation. The metformin didn't work alone after 7 months so the doc advised to do some rounds of Clomid to help ovulation. Well in Sept it worked on the first round of clomid and we were pregnant...This was my first pregnancy EVER and I'm almost 30. We were absolutely over the moon! The only bummer for me was that I had gained 10lbs on vacation the month before and then about 5lbs in Sept when I was taking the clomid (that drug makes you feel like pms on steroids EVERY day of the entire month!). So I was about 12 to 15lbs over the weight that I've been for several years (and trying to lose "the last 10")....but alas we were going to have a baby so I was just going to deal with the weight after the birth and go from there. Well, at 6 weeks we lost the baby. We were devastated. The only positive thing is that know we know we can.

The doc advised that I wait at least one normal cycle before doing clomid again. The humdinger is that my husband is an instructor pilot in the army and about 900 miles away from me until the middle of January! Looks like I'm going to Alabama for a month! lol! Anyways, I'm trying so very hard to lose all of that extra vacation, clomid, post-miscarriage sadness weight before the middle of December when I'll be ovulating again. So like I posted before...I need all the support I can get between weight loss and ttc!

Hope you all have a wonderful day! :)

Heather - welcome to the team! I am very sorry for your loss. I wish you all the best fighting the last 10 lbs - I'm sure you can do it! I'm here to support you in any way I can. Also - I love your pic. Great tats!

abeare - those are wonderful goals! I notices you mentioned Tim's... where do you live? I'm in NS!

    Good morning MFP!

Thanks Erica & Jalara, as for the Tim’s reference Jalara it’s because I live in Montréal! I’ve never been to NS but I’ve wanted to plan our summer trip this upcoming year to the Maritimes.

Welcome Heather, I’m sorry to hear about your loss, I’m sure you’ll be able to find all the support you need here for both weight loss and TTC.

Day 1 of my new goals done! I stayed under my calorie goal, didn’t eat out, and went to Zumba class yesterday!
Now to make sure I do as well today!

Pam~ Thanks for letting me know that this is prolly normal. Makes me feel a little better. Do you think I should count this as a "cycle" (doc says she wants me to have 2 cycles before trying)? Or should I wait for it to be a bit more "regular"?

Alisa~LOL Thanks! Happy painting! We are SO close! I have 2 ceilings and a second coat on the living room to go. Ugh! I never want to see an other paintbrush again for a very long time! DH and I have decided that we might hirer a painter next time to do it all.
Yes, and stupid AF is gone...I think...:ohwell: who knows...

Heather~ I'm very sorry for your loss and struggles! I am here to support in any way I can.

Well, the last two days have been an epic fail! And I was SO excited to go to Zumba last night, because my favorite instructor was scheduled so I figured I would get my butt kick! Well that was NOT the case. She has an injured foot so she couldn't teach. So instead we went and did 30 minutes of Zumba Circuit Training. :grumble: I think I would have burned 100 cal...instead of 500! I ate pizza for dinner knowing that I would probably burn it off, but NOPE. So I ended the night over by about 600!
Time to get back on track!!! Teaching tonight, but it is Sons of Anarchy night with friends so I am hoping I can keep my will power high!

kcurtis, I would count it as AF if it was red, even if it was short. It could take a few cycles to get back to normal, or it could have changed. My AF has been much lighter since going off of birth control pills. Of course, the last time I had an unmedicated cycle, I was 18 and your cycles change as you get older. Bodies are so much fun.

Heather, I'm sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how hard that must have been after struggling to get pregnant. I hope you get your take home baby soon!

That's my biggest fear, even more than never getting pregnant. I've never been pregnant and I'm 31 with completely reliable cycles, so I have doubts that I'll get that way anytime soon, but I'm trying to remain positive. We're doing everything we can to do this naturally and if that doesn't work, then I can get some answers.

Oh Em Gee Ladies! It's only Tuesday! Trucking along! I did well yesterday! I was actually REALLY under calories. I ended up (accidentally) skipping both of my planned snacks and then went over to a girlfriends house for our monthly Wine/Snack night. It was my turn to bring the snacks and I brought a cheese and salami tray with whole wheat triscuts and a sliced apple. That ended up being my dinner!

Today...not so good...I ended up leaving my house really early and so I had time to run thru starbucks....*sigh* I pick up terrible habits when my husband is gone! Thank goodness he'll be home in less than a week! Tonight's goals are to finish up two homework assigments, and STUDY for two other tests that I have this week. I will be SO glad when this semester is OVER!

Going to start testing for O's this weekend! Nothing else really going on with that. I feel normal this week...which is nice but i know it won't last long! :-)

KCurtis - Agree with Erica. If you needed to use something for the flow, even if it was short, it's considered AF and not spotting. This would be cycle one. 2 cycles is a good goal, it'll give you an idea of when to BD when you do actually start trying. Use this time to figure out when you think you'll be ovulating...you'll be one step ahead.

Welcome Heather - sorry to hear about your loss, but this is a fantastic group....

Alisa - I KNOW!!!!. Only Tuesday??? Why isn't it Friday yet? LOL (Or Thurs. I have the day off to do all my medical appointments...woo hoo)

As for me, I'm still getting this stupid change in taste (tastes like bark). It's like burned cinnamon bark (yup, I can elaborate after 6 weeks with it). Some of my favourite foods, I can no longer eat or drink it's completely offputting - cinnamony ketchup just isn't my thing. Just finished my lunch and have to run to buy gum because I can't take this......going to bring it up with my doctor on Thursday. Did some research today and I've decided that it must be diabetes, pregnancy AND medication related (all at once!)....LOL Self Diagnosis is such a bad thing. I'm also gulping down the water today. i've been bad lately with that and I think it's just in response to that today......

Hi everyone! I am Tammi, 27 married to my husband Nick, 27 for a little over a year. We've been together over 8 years now so everyone keeps asking when we will have a baby!! We are going to start trying in a few months. For now I am trying to lose weight and be as fit as possible before getting pregnant! I am hoping the will make my pregnancy healthy and easy and hopefully make it easier to lose the baby weight afterwards!

Thank you ladies for the kind words of support. We are doing our second round of Clomid in December so I've got until then to lose this weight. It is really hard after days like today when I'm on my feet nonstop (I'm a RN for a surgery center) and I'm so exhausted I don't want to workout at all (and I LOVE working out) and when I'm exhausted all I want to do is eat, eat, and eat! I'm at the crossroads of either bucking up and going to workout even though I'm exhausted or to sit and eat. The afternoons/evening are always the hardest!
