    Hi Tammi! Welcome!

Heather - RNs rock! I'm studnt practical nurse - love it so far, hating one of my current classes.

Feeling good about myself right now - I went to the gym right after work, and my gym pal came down and said she had to go back into meetings, and couldn't join me. So I went anyway. Then I stayed downtown to get supper since I have to be at job #2 tonight, and I chose a healthy meal vs healthy meal + carrot cake.

    Yays me!

Hope everyone is having a good day so far!

Heather, I am also sorry for your loss! :flowerforyou:

My IUD is out and talk about interesting. I have been hurting down there for four months with breast tenderness, cramping and general all over icky feeling. I went to the nurse two weeks ago and they checked it and told me everything was fine, but I had serious doubts. Friday I decided I had had enough and made an appt for December 1st. Yesterday I decided that I didn't want to wait that long so I called the Health Department and made an appt for yesterday but because ds's school thought he had broke his hand I had to cancel to take him to the doctor. They got me in today and when we got in there I told this nurse all these problems and she checks the darn thing and says, well it is definitely coming out because it is already half out. They did a pregnancy test and it was negative so here we go.

Day 2 of following me new set goals is done & I have a feeling that I wont have a problem following them again today, but I have Thursday-Friday off leaving me with a 4 day long weekend (yeah for long weekends). I hope that I’ll stay good during those four days; it’s so easy to let yourself get off track on days off! I’ve looked into the morning classes that my gym has that I could never take part in, maybe I’ll try those.
  • I've been quiet lately but I'm still here and watching all of you! Welcome to the newest ones! It's a great group here!

AFM: I have booked my first appointment with my doctor for next week to tell him about my plans to become a single mom by choice via donor insemination. I'll see what he has to say about it and grab a referal from him for (hopefully) an OB or if he thinks it's necessary (I don't) an RE.

This is a big step! I'm so excited! Oh and I also got a crib & change table from my best friend... kinda cart before the horse but it was free so I'll take it now!!

Welcome Tammy, Heather and Amanda! This is a great group of ladies; you’ll have a lot of support here.

Jenny that’s so exciting. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you!!!

I’ve been doing pretty well the past few days, trying really hard to break this plateau. I know 3 weeks is really not a long time to be stuck but it’s sooooooo frustrating because I know I’m doing the right things. I’m going to get the new Jillian Michaels Shred DVD tonight; hopefully introducing something new will work in my favor. DH and I are both off tomorrow for Veteran Day - one of the advantages of working for the state. I need a day off badly; this job is working on my sanity. I swear if one more client calls me today to report that their 15 year old daughter is pregnant I’m going to scream! (I’m a welfare caseworker). I’m really looking forward to a day of nothing tomorrow……but first I have to make it to 5 o’clock. :ohwell:

Ron, I work in an office that does research for children's mental health and welfare. I edit the reports and I just can't imagine what case workers go through. I organized a training seminar for a group of case workers and listening to their stories at lunch just made me want to cry. You definitely deserve a day off. We have the option of taking tomorrow off, but our office is open so I feel obligated to come in, but I'm taking the entire week of Thanksgiving off. Woohoo!

abeare~ Way to go on meeting your goals! Keep up the good work. I know what you mean about days off being harder! I am terrible on the weekends!

Jenny~ Yay! I'm so happy for you! One step closer!

Ron~ Enjoy your day off! You definitely deserve it! And you will get past that plateau, those last few pounds are the hardest to shred! I really hope the new Jillian will help you.

I did OK yesterday, but DH wanted Taco Bell last night, ugh. I couldn't make him change his mind. So I tried to be good. Today, I have to show the house to 2 potential tenants right after I get out of work. Then I'm going to run home and try to get something ready for dinner before DH suggests going out for fast food again... He grew up with a home-cooked meal every night, and now I think he is making up for his lack of fast food as a child. LOL

Well... sort of. I hit 132 this weekend, but I'm back up to 133.5ish. So I'm probably just fooling myself. And the flab I was hoping would be gone by 130 is still there, though it's not as bad. I'm trying to focus more on toning than hitting 130 now and we'll just see what happens. I'd be ok with this weight if the tummy pooch and saddlebags would jut disappear. However, I think I have to be about 5 lbs below my goal for that to happen, but I don't want to get too low while TTC.

I have the opposite problem. DH grew up on fast food and now he’s so used to home cooked meals that he doesn’t like to go out at all. And the rare times when we do, he complains that my food is better. I know I should just be happy that he likes my cooking, but I need a break from the kitchen every once in a while!

It's Wednesday! It's Wednesday! Woo hoo! Half way thru the week! Another day closer to my hunny coming home!! YaY!!

So....I am just thinking that this week will be my highcalorie week and i'll get back on track next week and lose it all (trying to also break this 134-136 plateau!!:grumble: ) Broke down and went to Panera for breakfast today...Their breakfast Souffles are AMAZING!!

My bestfriend from 8th grade went into labor with her 4th baby last night...I just got a text from her fiance that she just started pushing!! I can't wait to get pictures! This will be the only one of her kids that i have not seen within the first 3-4months of being born. As I was typing i got the pic! She is here!!

    Wow - busy board today!

abeare: I'm glad your goals are going well so far. And it's really great to hear you making plans on how to handle your days off - that's a sign of success!

Jenny: That is so exciting! I hope your doc is supportive! Give us all the details!

Ron: Enjoy your day off! People who do what you do deserve so much.
Let us know how it goes with Jillian! Are you still running too?

Alisa: I have NO idea how you have the energy to do everything that you do. When I'm done work and go home, studying is a chore, and I NEVER have all my homework done. Tell me your secret!

Me: So far this week is going okay. I'm super tired today, but surviving. Headed to the gym after work today.

    Oh - I'm a CRAVING M&Ms soooo badly!

I think I have the OPK testing at work down pat. Just waiting to see my first +. I find I get realy nervous while I'm taking the test that I will never see one. I'll feel better after I have!

    Happy Wednesday all!

Jalara - My secret is i NEVER stop moving! (seriously if i sit down for one second it's over...I'll actually avoid eating or eat standing up if i'm in the middle of something bc the second i stop i crash) - Also, I know what you mean about the OPK's once you get that first + you'll feel MUCH better, I'm much more confident this month, i'll start peeing on the stick this weekend!

So...I'm quite possibly the best wife EVER! My husband and I LOVE stand up comedy and Daniel Tosh is one of our favorites (he hosts Tosh.O on comedy central but is MUCH funnier when doing stand up) - well I got an email that he was going to be in San Francisco (about 3 hours from us) the weekend before my husband deploys...presale started today and I bought us tickets!!! They're going to be his "big" Christmas gift this year! He'll be so excited! We're in row 16 of one of the sections RIGHT in front of the stage! PRAY PRAY PRAY that the original deployment dates stand...otherwise if they leave even 3 days early he won't be able to go...I have a back up date if he can't go...but i love the idea of us getting one more alone weekend before he leaves....

Also, I talked to my boss today...NEXT week will be my last week! I realize i was only going to work 2 days of the following week...but it's two days less than i was going to be working! :-) Ready for some FREEDOM!!

Jalara – yep, I’m still running. I’ve been slacking because it’s so dark in the morning but now that we changed the clocks back I want to get back into the routine of running in the morning before I go to work. I can only do 1.25 miles before I want to die. I keep saying I want to add to my distance but I never do.

Alisa – I love Panera!! I’ve never tried their breakfast though. My favorite is ½ a Bacon Turkey Bravo sandwich and a cup of broccoli and cheese soup. Yummm……

On a side note……I want peanut butter! No candy with peanut butter inside, just straight out of the jar peanut butter. All I need is a spoon. :embarassed: I’ve been thinking about for half an hour now, thankfully Wednesday nights is always dinner at my mom’s, so hopefully by the time I get home tonight I won’t be craving it anymore.

Hey, I've been using the MFP app for a while, but am just now discovering the message boards. My husband and I began TTC last month. I'd love to join you girls as I try to lose 5 lbs before I get prego.
    CW: 125.6
    GW:120 (eventually 115)
    Height: 5'1"
I know I'm going to gain weight once I get prego, so I'd like to drop as much as I can while eating healthy and exercising. I don't want to go crazy because I feel like dieting is probably not healthy while TTC.

    Hey ladies....

Been really tired lately. I have been working 11+ hours because of coaching and its taking its toll. Need some more sleep! A couple more months of crazy schedule then I will be beack to normal.

    Read all your posts.

Keep up all of the good work!

cwagy - Well he is CUTE! We have a very busy 10month old aussie and he gets confused for a bernese mountain dog all the time...so i guess it goes both ways!

Okay so...today i couldn't decide what i wanted to pack for lunch so I packed a "Hormal Complete" it was Chicken and Gravy w/ Mashed potatos...yeah i took one bite and thru it out...it tasted like cardboard...YUCK!! So I basically skipped lunch, now i'm really starting to get rumbly, so i whip out my snack (greek yogurt with strawberries) and it is just NOT what i want right now. I don't know WHAT i want but it sure isn't this! I have ZERO idea what i'm going to fix for dinner tonight...I think i have some frozen ravioli in the freezer...that'll be easy enough...Boo! I hate when I am hungry but don't WANT anything...:grumble:

    Goood morning all :D

Woke up in a great mood today - could be because I took today off as vacation. Have to leave the house shortly though. Fertility appointment in 45 minutes in the next town over. I think that I realized my goal of being 30lbs down from what I told her in June (but I don't remember the specific number at the time that I went last because it was a guess....I only weighed myself afterwards.....)

Looks like a beautiful (if cold) day out there. Probably going to take the dogs for a walk this morning with my hubbie and actually start the pilates video this afternoon. Sounds like a well behaved day so far, but I think that I might splurge on something for breakfast...I don't feel like oatmeal or eggs this morning.

Phsyical this afternoon too. Last time I went to the doctor, she commented on how good I was looking (and that was me sick...) So I think she's goign to be happy. I mentioned the taste buds thing to the dentist last night and they weren't able to help but I really don't think it's a taste buds thing. I think there is something not right somewhere in my digestive tract....so I'm bringing it up with the doctor today....On the plus side, I feel like I'm definitely getting everything ready for being pregnant in a few months. Getting all my levels checked with my family doctor, getting a clean bill of health from the dentist, being at a healthier start weight....Hope that this is my last Christmas without a little one (like all the Christmas' before) really is making me smile today :)

    Happy Thursday everyone :)

    LOL thanks Erica.

So fertility specialist agrees that if the surgery was as successful (or even half as successful) as the urologist thinks it was then we can go for IUI (WOO HOO). There were some strange things on my results that she's going to medicate me for. 1) blood sugar is on the high side of normal - already taking Metformin so no biggie other than my blood sugar is high  2) my thyroid level is higher than she likes for people to concieve or carry a pregnancy successfully - so add another pill to my morning doses

Her eyes almost bugged out when I told her I'm down 30lbs. The first thing she said was that i flew up the stairs when she called me vs. last time when I was out of breath  so she's thrilled with that and thinks that if I can get into the 210s for our next appt in February (which is about 20lbs) then she'll be ready to do what needs to be done with little reservations  and that, in her opinion, at that point, my risk level will have been cut by about 75% over trying to get pregnant back in June.

All in all a good day. I did have a blood test to make sure I wasn't pregnant because she also gave me 3 rounds of Provera since I'm now going on CD60 today ... LOL Could you imagine if they call me back and say....uh.....don't take the Provera (the chances are less than 1% since that would put conception around the time of DH's surgery but I can hope.....:smooched:

Pam - So glad your appointment went well!! You have a GREAT attitude and you have come SO far! When your baby comes (notice i didn't say IF) it will be such a deserved BLESSING and there will not be a luckier child in this world bc you worked so hard for it! :flowerforyou:

Welp, did okay yesterday! I made a one of those "dinner for two" frozen Buitoni dinners but only ate 1/3 of it vs the normal 1/2 serving so i was able to stay under calories. Today I went thru starbucks for breakfast...still nothing at home looks appitizing...not a clue what we're going to have for dinner...but I'm not stressing about it! It's THURSDAY! Got a good amount of work at the office to get me thru today and tomorrow then a busy busy day saturday and a big day of cleaning Sunday! My goal tonight is to paint the first coat around all the edging in the bathroom that i didn't do last weekend, then if it dries quick enough I'll start on the second coat (although i may just wait until Saturday since I'll have some time in the morning).

Today is CD9 so i'll start O' testing again tomorrow...not looking forward to having to time all my drinking to make sure i get the right kind of pee for the test to work right, but ready to put another check in the box on My Fertility Friend calander!

Oh! For the seasoned OPK'ers - a friend of mine asked if it was normal to get a  for more than 3 days in a row? Is that even possible??
  • fitterpam
    fitterpam Posts: 3,064 Member
Alisa - I would think it's possible. It's all based on hormones and it could mean that she's been at those level of hormones for 3 days; it's not like the individual tests talk to one another, they wouldn't know that it has been several days ongoing. I wouldn't say I think it's normal overall, most people peak at one day and then the body does what it is supposed to do and release the egg. There could be something going on for her not to release the egg or that could just be the way her body works (which is why it's so important to chart for a few months). It's not something to be alarmed about it if happens every month and she's been able to conceive before. If this is new, then she should probably see her doctor after a few days more.

Speaking of charting. I think I have enough courage to sign back into a tracker. Most of my charts from before are on tyocf.com but since so many of the girls on this board are FF'ing it....I think I'll rejoin there.

You can also get multiple positive OPKs if you are pregnant...
  • AlisaToth
    AlisaToth Posts: 414 Member
We know she's not pregnant (her husband is in my husband squadron and the months that she got multiple +++ he was gone during the previous month so no conception oppertunities) I know she got pregnant earlier in the year and lost the baby. The other problem she was having is she was testing first thing in the AM, she's from Dubai (Lebanon originally) so her english to arabic translation can be a little off sometimes so it is probably just difficult for her to use things like this bc all the directions are in english! :-) I know she is temping too (i walked into her bedroom the otherday and saw the Basil thermometer thingy and knew right away what she was doing, that's what got us talking about the mulitple ++)

I know that some women with PCOS can get multiple + on OPKs. But I do have a friend who typically gets 2-3 positives per month and does not have PCOS. She does have low progesterone, though.
