NO.No group should be "protected" and that goes for race, weight, gender, ANYTHING. "Protected" classes = reverse discrimination. There's nothing more "wrong" than being a normal, straight, white male in this country. It's sad. Are the bumper stickers stupid? Yeah. But it shouldn't be illegal to speak your mind and apparently he doesn't like fat girls.
I'm going to take a wild guess that you are straight and white.
She's 26 with 4 kids. Kind of increases the probability of straightness.
Didn't need to check her profile, I just had to read her comment. It screams "Privileged white woman".

Yes, that is exactly what it means. I am also a straight white woman. It doesn't make me bad, but it does make me privileged. I acknowledge that my way in life has been easier than a black woman's by the fact that my skin is white. I didn't form an opinion of her, she gave me her opinion. Imagine if there was a similar sticker referring to another group based on appearance. I can think of a few examples that would not be legal. These should be illegal too I reckon.

OMG. My previous roommate, (just moved out today thank god) used to constantly bash on fat girls whenever we went somewhere. We'd be out grocery shopping or working in the yard and a heavier girl would want by and he would be saying things like " I can hear the ground crying from here" I got so ****ing pissed at him I slapped him and left him stranded 15 miles from home at 11 pm. I never used to take it personally, but this past week I just can't get it out of my mind...0

I'm just saying its exactly the same as any group - "disabled people", "black people", "asians", "midgets", etc. These groups experience discrimination. There would be a major reaction if there were stickers referring to such groups. Fat people experience discrimination too, so similar logic.

But I am not speaking of anyone illegal and made my remark because too many US citizens automatically assume that blacks from Africa or the Caribbean are automatically illegal, while the majority are actually not. They are often legal residents of the US, but are not African Americans as so many assume without thinking. So, what are they called, in case I have to be PC one day.....:o).... ?
I used to work with a group of people in Haiti who previously had lived/worked in the US, but returned after the earthquake and they complained that so many in the US automatically assumed they were illegal when they heard they were not African Americans.0 -

I didn't mean each group faced the same discrimination, just that they are all minority groups who face discrimination.
Look, I apologise if I've caused any offense. Obviously using the word illegal was definitely wrong and in Australia, freedom of speech is not as hot a topic so I was unaware my comments would create such a discussion.
Also, my experience with people with darker skin pigment has been with Aboriginals (who call themselves 'blackfellas' and white people 'whitefellas' - and obviously have faced vile discrimination but the term black I didn't think was an issue to) and in Africa where the terms black and white are used all the time.
Anyway, again - offense not intended. Just wanted to talk about the fat chicks sticker. Obviously used the wrong language.0
