You guys probably talked about this in earlier posts, but you've tried getting your HPTs at Costco or Sam's Club right? My costco had the same 3pk they sell at CVS but for like $4 cheaper. I wish they'd sell a 10 pack...sheesh.

Yup - it was negative, but that was to be expected. l'm not really disappointed or surprised. I realized AFTER the fact about the whole digital thing and that it probably takes a really dark clear preggo line to signal the pregnant thing...but I HATE interpreting lines! Well, guess i'll just have to buy another one for Saturday!

Hey, Erica is right. I got my first positive on a digital but after testing again and getting a negative my dr. told me to get the non-digital ones...

Well that was a horrifying experience. I had my bloodwork done at the hospital. I figured there would be sick people getting labs done. Nope! Four pregnant ladies having their glucose tests done and chit-chatting up a storm about their pregnancies. I barely made it through the draw and to my car before I started sobbing.

Alisa, I'm not surprised. Definitely go with a lined test. You can get really cheap tests at dollar stores (for $1) and they work just as well as the more expensive ones. If you can get a line on one of those, then shell out the big bucks for the digi.

Kah - nope. I thoroughly enjoyed my 9:30 impromptu spaghetti :P Everytime I see your pic, I think you're in New Zealand so it surprises me that you're getting snow....LOL You look simliar to my cousin who lives in SA (so I don't know why I think NZ other than her sister is there) and her name is Karen (pronounced Kah-ren).......I love coming here to read about everyone else too - it helps me keep the focus off my own problems.....LOL

Erica - good for you! I'm glad you're taking the challenge and running with it. I hope that you get some answers soon......it's so frustrating to get them to do much!!! I'm sorry that it was so hard for you to sit through that...some days it's just too much. Soon, you'll be sitting there chatting up a storm too :) I'm sure of it.

Alisia - don't feel too bad about testing on DPO7...i've done it on assumed DPO3 befoer........silly girl that I am.....at day 7,i'm typically running to the bathroom every 2 minutes looking for spotting.....LOL :noway:

HMKan - 10 packs? The most we can get here are 2 packs.....and the tests are so important....I have even relegated myself to buying the dollar store ones.....cause if it's going to be negative, might as well not spend a fortune (Erica, you're right - they work just as well, but are much messier. At least the ones at my Dollar Store are....I need a cup, an eyedropper and a science set up)...Yup sometimes POAS can lead to very negative thoughts beforehand.

FitterPam-sometimes I wish I was in New Zealand--how beautiful! That was taken on a vacation to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Wouldn't mind living there either! As it is....Virginia is "holding it's breath" for a snowstorm, I guess. Schools are out, but we aren't expecting anything big till later tonight. I'm sure all the stores are out of bread, milk and toilet paper. I'm just going to stay put and hope the power stays on tonight. Maybe tomorrow I'll get a shoveling workout in!

That's a great idea about the PG tests at the Dollar Store. Never thought of that. As is, I haven't had to test for months because I always get the spotting before a test would work anyways. So, I just have a box of them sitting around...taunting me.

Erica, I'm so sorry you had the morning you did. I can't imagine what that must've been like for you. But I agree. Soon it WILL be you. You'll get there.

Pam, we don't have 10pks here, but I wish. I'm all about buying in bulk. We do have 3pks which I've seen at CVS but cheaper even at Costco.

Kah, Tell me about it. The snow hasn't even come yet and OPM has already declared the federal government is closing 2 hours early. I wonder if my firm will let us out too. Where in VA are you?

Oh Erica! That is a slap in the face isn't it! I might have gone and sat somewhere else...I'm sorry you had to deal with that! Not to even try to compare what you were feeling, but yesterday while sitting in one of my classes yesterday (it was the first day of this particular class) and the teacher (who I had met last semester) walked in almost 6 months preggo...all I could think about the whole class was "I wonder if they were trying or if it was an accident?" "I wonder if they know what they're having?" "I wonder if they've picked out names" and "gross, she looks too cute in her little professional maternity outfit gag" lol needless to say it might be a long semester if I am Not pregnant

I would have moved, but it was a very small waiting area. I nearly got up and went into the hall a few times, but I didn't want to miss them calling my name. I'm sure they were wondering why I was glaring daggers at them, but it was that or cry. I know it's not their fault. I'm sure I'll be seeing more pregnant women soon. I'll have to learn to deal with it. Thanks for all of the kind words, ladies.

Kah trust me, most of that "funk, blech" you feel is the surge of hormones from the Clomid! I didn't feel like myself one bit taking it. All I ever wanted to do was sit on the couch and eat stuff...anything! lol! Not good for trying to lose weight before baby that's for sure! It also looks like you and I are very close on our cycle. I'm on CD22 (but whose counting?! lol). Doing the day 21 Progesterone is nice to know if you did in fact ovulate or not, but speaking from experience, it will just make you that much more crazy knowing if you did (at least it did for me). Exercise is definitely a saving grace in the funk and will help pump you up with some "feel good" hormones! :)

Erica, I'm so sorry that you had to experience that. I don't know how many times I went to the specialist to be sitting next to a brand new beautiful baby....it used to break my heart every single time! My specialist office now has 1 waiting room for women ttc and one for pregnant/babies. I think that is the best way to do it!

Alisa I was worried that day 7 would be too soon and especially with a digi, but stranger things have happened! I would have had to pee on it too if I were you! And isn't it crazy how when you are ttc all you see around you is pregnant women and newborns? When I wasn't trying I never noticed it and now it seems like they are not only everywhere, but everyone I know is either pregnant or just had a baby!

I'm already starting to make a checklist of possible symptoms....this morning I woke up and immediately started cleaning. I only do this the day before I start or when I'm pregnant. It is some hormone thing that makes me "nest" or something. I'm not sure but it is a force that I can't stop! At least if I'm not pregnant this month, I'll have a very clean house! lol! One week down, one more to go!

Getting my hair done today so I'm excited about that! So that is my "something nice" that I'm doing for myself today.

Heather, that's a brilliant idea for segregating the office. I imagine if I end up at an RE, that will be closer to the norm.

I hope this is your month! Nest away!

Pam – My cousin did the Rick Gallop’s version of the GI diet, do you know what the major differences are?
Oh and I hear ya about the cold, my ears hurt like crazy after walking two city blocks!
Good luck on the weigh in!

Heather – Sounds like you’re doing amazing, regardless of what the scale says! I’ve heard that your body needs closer to a month to get used to a new way of eating rather than just a few weeks. Keep up the good work! The only thing that scares me about a low GI diet is eliminating more foods from my already scarce list (I don’t eat most meats, I only have chicken breast and fresh water fish, and those are only on occasion), but I’ll ask my cousin for some recipes and if I find any good ones I’ll make sure to share!

Alisa – Just googled who Daniel Tosh is, sounds funny, enjoy.

Erica- Happy to hear you’re going to get your blood drawn! I know it’s not a fun thing to do but considering the bureaucracy you went through to get it I’m glad it’s finally getting done!
*note that I didn’t make it to your latest post when I wrote the above! I’m so sorry you had such a bad experience, what odds! Go buy a lottery ticket or something!

Kah – I’m sorry to hear you were in a funk! It happens to everyone, I find that if I don’t let it out (binge &cry) it just lasts that many more days. So if ever you’re looking for a good cry movie to get it out of the way, my fav is “What dreams may come”. It’s guaranteed to get me sobbing, that by the end of the movie I have no more cry in me, and I’m inspired to treat everyday as it were my last!

Ok, so my head cold is still going strong, and with it is the need to eat so that the food scratches my itchy throat! Not a good thing when trying to loose weight! So needles to say I’m not doing well on the food front and am not exercising at all cause I can barely breathe sitting down let alone if I was doing cardio! Hopefully this will only last another day or two.

Oh my goodness.. I have been trying to keep up, but somehow I got really behind. Sorry some of this is going to be a bit dated.

Erica- I'm you had a difficult time at the Doc, but hopefully you get some answers soon and it will be your time! Also, about those "failure" feelings, I know exactly what you are feeling. I had to wait over a year just for my body to start working and now who knows how long it will take of TTC. All we can do is try to stay strong and positive and know it will happen when the time is right. (whether we think the time is right now or not)

Nili- Welcome! Hope your journey is a happy and successful one and know we are here to help and support.

gjspiller~ Welcome! I hope you the best and glad you have joined our group.

Talli~ Welcome! I hope you the best and glad you have joined our group.

Phoenyxlove~ Welcome as well! I hope you the best and just chime in when you feel it is the right time.

Andrea- Sorry, I missed your post before... Way to go on the loose clothes! I like when that happens, but at the same time I don't because that mean I have to buy more.

    Charlie~ Are you feeling better?

RON~ YAY!!! I'm SO happy for you! Oct. is a great time! I love Fall, just think about the cute pictures you can get done!

Pam~ Sorry for the bad night, glad you are doing better. And I salute you for getting out and taking the pups for a walk. I know My pup is mad that we haven't been out in a long time. Glad everything is looking up for you! That's a bummer that BL won't let you just weigh in.

Alisa~ I love you non-scale victory in the shadows. Sorry it was neg. but happy testing on Saturday. Fingers crossed. That’s funny about your teacher; I would have been doing the same thing!

Heather~ Great job on the measuring. That definitely is the better way to keep track. You have reminded me that I should really check my measurements. I envy your energy and workout plans! I wish I had the time and energy you have! Keep up the good work and it will pay off! Great ideas for the snacks! I am a very bad snacker and will have to try your plan for myself! Thanks for sharing!

HMK~ I wish I had the problem of eating all my cals! I am starving if I stick to my goal. I am over my goals each and every day and believe me the scale is staying up too. :frown: I really need to get moving more to balance everything out.

Kah78~ Schools closed before snow?! Really? Here in MI, it takes quite a bit to cancel schools. I hope it doesn't cause too much of a problem for you! I know spring cannot come quicker!

Nichole~ I'm only 27, but we are trying for our first. :flowerforyou:

abeare~ I feel you on being behind! This board is moving too fast for me lately. Hope you are doing well.

    Phew...AFM
Thank you for all the concern and prayers. We have not found my neice. He still has not returned her to my sister. He let her talk to her on the phone which is good, but at the same time I think it made my sister's emotions even more wacked! We have reasons to believe he went and filed for custody (he was asking my sister questions that we know are on the papers, because we filed them on Monday), good thing my sister beat him to the starting line. :explode: I swear, if I knew where he was I would......do some very bad things...
Well, after the weirdness of the odd spotting, there has been nothing for a few days now. So, I don't know whether to say it was a period or not. There really wasn't a "flow." I don’t know what to do.... Chart it as spotting(CD31)? or light flow (CD7)? Ugh, this whole mother nature thing and human body thing can be confusing...

    REVISITING MY GOALS:
    1) drink more water, at least 6-10 classes =FAILED only took in about 1-4 everyday...
    2) exercise 3 times for at least 30 minutes (not including teaching) =FAILED I'm always 1 or 2 short...
    3) Say under calories at least 3 times =FAILED I'm having a really rough time with this! I can't tell you the last time I was UNDER...
You know what that means? Now it's time to kick my butt back into shape! LOL

I fill up a 32oz nalgene bottle in the morning and make sure I empty it. I didn't drink enough water either, but now I find that because the "cup" doesn't run out after 8oz, I drink a lot more and fill it up 3-4 times a day now. That's 12-16 glasses. Just a thought. Good luck!

Just a quickie here as I have to get ready to go but I just got back from getting my hair done and as I'm changing into my gym clothes I decide to step on the scale just out of curiousity. I was expecting for things to be status quo as per the past 3 wks and it is the middle of the day so I'm usually about 2-4lbs more than when I do an official weigh in first thing in the morning after a pee and naked (tmi sorry! lol) well I stepped on the scale and I'm down 2 lbs! Looking forward to seeing what it says Friday morning for my official weigh in! Woot!

kcurtis thanks for the kind words. And hopefully your niece will be home sooner rather than later! As far as your cycle goes...that one would get me too. I'd hate to say wait it out and see...but what else can you really do?! Ugh...mother nature!

abeare hope you feel better soon! Sounds like the sickness is just going around. It unfortunately is that time of year. And the low GI diet isn't hard to follow once you get the hang of it. But it is like anything else that it just takes some work and education to get there, but once you've figured it all out is just second nature. I've never been a big meat person so making this change I thought would be much more difficult than it has been, but honestly I've tried so many more things I wouldn't have in the past necessarily and love it (like bison...yum!).

Just a quick check in...

HMKan~ I used to do the same thing, but just been slacking lately. :ohwell: So I will get back to doing it! Thanks for the reminder! :drinker: <<<Water:happy:

Heather~ YAY!! 2lbs! See it was just holding out on you... Great job. I'm happy the scale is starting to work with you. :flowerforyou:

So to start my butt kicking I just got back from a new Zumba class and here we are almost 30 minutes later and my cheeks are still on fire! Ahhh....feeling much better! Also my water count is at 8 cups. Going good so far!

Heather - Nesting is a good sign!!!! Hopefully this will be your month. I'm sending you sticky baby dust. Getting your hair done is a beautiful thing to do for yourself and the 2lbs is an even better thing!!!

Abeare - Never heard of Ricky Gallop - I'll have to do some research on it. Weigh in wasn't good, but I wasn't surprised. I only did it today after dinner, last week was after breakfast. Hope you feel better - it sure was cold over there too this week...hope it doesn't get that bad again.

Kcurtis - agree on the quick moving board. Seems like my posts go on for hours now....I actually popped in yesterday to look at the posts and saw how many there were and popped back out....I didn't have the energy to write anything back :P You know what you need to do...that's the first step

HMKan - I do the same thing!!! Trying to take these OPKS though - I'm not supposed to drink for 4hours before. I've found I'm just not drinking enough - that's the time of day, I tend to load up on the water.

AFM: Yikes, What a night. I've learned that when I get home I really don't want to socialize. Friend's guy was in town because he's trying to move to our town so they can be closer. He had an interview yesterday and we were driving by when he was done and offered to drive him back into town (were' in a rural town). That was fine, but then he was here until 6pm. Dinner was a rushed affair from a local take out place - GIGANTIC burger & fries. At 7:30, I had a late meeting for work. By 8:30, DH and I were in bed - last night was an "on" night. Next thing I remember, I was waking up this morning trying to figure out whether I've temped or not yet....Yup we were asleep by 8:45. Have to rush this post because I'm now going to be late getting to work and have yet to get dressed.

Happy Thursday All. Hope your week is rocking and if it's not at least it's almost over:0)

Drinking more water is one of my biggest goals. Some days I do great others I do horrible. I hate how much you have to pee when you drink as much water as you are supposed to.

Anyone else ready for spring? I am so sick of the cold. It has been freezing here in NC this year. It's been in the 30's almost every day. I used to live in NY and my friends say they have gotten so much snow. Problem is that we don't get much snow but we get ice storms which in my opinion are worse.

I miss being outside in nice weather!

nkster I couldn't agree with you more! I am so tired of being cold! To get through the winter I tan (I'm NOT a tan-aholic by any means...just a couple times a week to get warm and get the vit D....okay so it is my vice. It is pretty much the only one I have) and I workout more to warm up. Wish that second vice made up for the first! lol! Anyways, I'm ready to see green instead of white for sure! I live in MO and it has snowed quite a bit here and has been COLD!

Pam I hate when the night gets away from me and the next thing I know I'm waking up the next morning thinking how in the world I got there! I'm a creature of habit though so I really do well with a "normal" day.

kcurtis glad your zumba class gave you a good workout! I've been to a few classes that were a joke. I have been to a good zumba class though and sure did burn some calories!

I'm watching my friends little girl today. She is 2 and very precocious! I absolutely love her. We had planned on going to the gym but she has strep so it is just gonna be her and I hangin all day...I'll get in my workout when she naps later. I didn't sleep well last night. I never do Mon and Wed when I workout hard at 7pm at night. I'm more of a morning exerciser but the only turbo kickbox class that is offered just happens to be at 7pm until 8. So by the time I get home, shower, and eat dinner it is after 9 and I've got endorphins surging. Even when I do fall asleep I am half awake or dreaming of doing something and end up waking up exhausted. I still think it is worth it. 6 more days to test...not like I'm counting or anything! :)

Hope you all are having a wonderful day!

Pam I can't tell you how many time's I've done that! I'll wake up at 2am thinking dam I forgot to temp! Then look at the clock and go back to sleep lol

I don't know what this snow is you guys are talking about as it does not get that cold here, however we have our own version of pesky white stuff that comes with winter and that is FOG! I live in central California and it stays overcast all winter (similar to Seattle) and complete white out fog! It's terrible to drive in esp at night, you pray the other cars have their lights on so at least you can see them when they're 15ft from you!

Ugh, as much as I'm going to miss my husband I wish he would just leave already! We have done nothing but fight all week! And last night he tells me we might have to cancel our trip to san fran this weekend bc he might have to fly bc almost all of his flights have been cancelled this week due to...FOG!!

parking was a B at school today but I got a nice little walk on campus in my cute rain boots! I'm meeting a friend for lunch today I'm excited! I haven't seen her since before Christmas and I we're getting burritos at chipotle! Yummy!!
