Eeeek, my date! So nervous, it's ridiculous. I keep thinking he is going to get a proper look at me and run away. (even though there is a full length piccie of me on my dating profile.) I never used to lack self confidence, booo!
Rach - I live in Leicester. East Midlands!0 -
You're a beautiful lady! why would he run away!?!0

Rach Congratulations you are doing so well. (and Yes I'm vegetarian)
Well as for me I put ON. 900gms 2 POUNDS. I'm not really surprised, I wasn't so good last week. Did I really expect to lose weight without exercise and over eating. I am upset no denying, because I really wanted a miracle. As most of you know I go to my local shopping centre to get weighed or my doctors, both scales weigh the same. However the shopping center scales also gives lucky numbers and daily fortune. Bonus. LOL. My fortune for today was "Honesty is the Best Virtue". Don't remember my lucky numbers as I was too upset with the kilo numbers I had just seen. And anyway I would need pen and paper to write down my lucky numbers and thats extra weight. So HONESTLY Yes I'm upset and want to cry but then its also week before periods and I'm always emotional so not a good week to weight gain anyway. But also Honestly I know what I have to do and also should have done. Work hard. After all if I had to take a pill each day to save my life I would wouldn't I and what we are doing is to save our lives so we must do it. I really hope you have all done so much better than me this week. I look forward to reading about your losses and to get Inspiration from you all.0 -
Firstly welcome to Katie.
Poorcopies - Just did a web search for the race for life and it looks like it would be a real laugh. I've just finished doing a triathlon series here triwoman (www.tri.co.nz), and I loved the friendly supportive atmosphere. I've pretty much just done couch to 5K over the past 8 - 10 weeks, started out run a lampost walk a lampost and built it up. I ran 6Km last week, and I know I could run further.
Claire - Don't beat yourself up about TOM getting in the way. The most important thing is that you're still here, still logging your food and exercise, so what if you post a gain this week, next week it will be gone. Did you grow up speaking Welsh? or learn it at school? I love Wales, so beautiful.
I'm all up for eating greens on thursday, think I'll wear green to work too! I'm also up for a big burn week. I didn't make the 3500 last time, but will go all out this time, it would really help with the wedding and all too.
And here's my intro ...
Name: Rachel or Rach
Location: Auckland, New Zealand
I am originally from Yorkshire in the UK, but have been living in NZ for 9 years now.
CW : 89.3kg or 197lb
GW : 70kg or 155lb
Workouts: I have been training for short distance triathlons, so I run, bike or swim 6 days a week and then have 1 rest day. I'm now working towards being able to run 10km and have entered a series called "Run Auckland" which is 6 races of 5km, with the last 3 having a 10km option and the final race having a 20km option. My aim is to be able to run the 20km option in July. I can currently run 6km.
Food facts : I'm vegetarian, though started eating fish when I was pregnant. I aim to have a chunk or two of chocolate every day. My current aim is to make sure I eat all my protein.
Interesting fact : I have webbed feet!?! Makes me a better swimmer!
Thank you for the welcome
You live in Auckland??!!!! OMG i lovelovelove Auckland!! I am going back in 57 days and i CANNOT WAIT! I actually have 2 job interviews for when i am over there... i really want to live there!!!
Anyway just wanted to share my excitement about Auckland haha0 -

hi every one! God i hate being unemployed, i cant keep track on which day it is! But with luck i realised it is wednesday today, my best friends birthday and mamogram day for me. So here comes the facts...
Name: Hanna
Location: Norrköping, Sweden
CW: 97.5 kgs/ 214.5 lbs
GW: 70 kgs/ 154 lbs - or rather i'll take it from 70 kgs, i have no clue how i will look weighing so "little", but i guess its what i should weigh. seems like i lose all my weight in my face and i dont wanna look sick in any way.... but between 65-75 is ok by me
Workouts: At the moment i just walk. Long walks, short walks you name it. It works for me but i know i have to throw in some muscle building exerise as well. Not beause i *have* to, but because it makes you burn that fat so much faster - and just enough muscles is HOT!
Food facts: I eat almost everything. very few things i cannot handle but sushi is one of them.
Interesting fact: i have absolutely no arm strenght, i cant live without music and i knit0 -
Congrats on all your losses ladies! My weigh day is a Friday, so hoping for good numbers on the scales then!
My first day of my 3500 challenge will be a bust though, I slept in and didn't get to work out before work, and I am out after, boo! Can hopefully make some numbers up at the weekend though.0 -
My weight for the week is 250.4. I think I'll hit my goal of 249 for next week! And I will post all my get to know you info on Sat. I'm using my phone right now and its a little hard to type all that. Great job to everyone! :happy:0

Happy St Patricks Day All. Well I have started with a breakfast of eggs on a bed of spinach. Missed my cereal. Though today would be easy to eat green as had thought I would be home all day. But I'm leaving by 8.30am and will be back on the 10.30pm train. Will try and make some salads etc to take with me. Started well yesterday with the 3500 burn but will be pushing it today. Might just get off the busses and trains a stop early and walk if I have the time. have a great day all.0

I am SO ready to give up!! I knew I would not have a good weigh in because of eating way to many calories over the weekend, but a 3 pound gain is ridiculous. I have eaten less calories to make up for it over the last few days and obviously that wasn't a wise choice either. I am just so frustrated, upset, and depressed right now that I just want to cry and not go anywhere and not eat anything. I hate myself so much right now. How on earth could one weekend of eating throw me off so far?!?
My weight this week is 346.20 -

Oh hunnie... Don't give up...
I've had a look at your diary and it seems to me that you're not eating enough... your net cals are under 1200 often so your body might be in survival mode - storing fat instead of buring it as it doesn't know when it's next meal is coming...
Have you posted this on any other thread? Others may have a better idea that me...0 -
I have posted it in one other thread for a group I am in. I am just so frustrated right now. I think you are right though about the not eating enough. I started the hcg diet Saturday that my dr asked me to do and this is the result. I followed it exactly and gained 3 pounds in one week when I have been losing an average of 5 a week on my own. I will stay on this til I see him next week and if there is not a major loss over this next week than I am going off it. I don't feel hungry but I know if I am gaining then my body is telling me this is not the right thing for me to be doing.0

That is wise to listen to your body! Dieting is not the answer to anything, changing habits, eating good and exercise is. If MFP is working for you then i think you should stick with it no matter what your doctor says - and a loss of 5 lbs/week is a great loss. If your doctor doesnt think so too bad. Don't give up...we will always be here for you even if your doctor is not. As you say you should give it time but dont waste time on a diet that isnt working just because someone in the field says it should. That will just get you depressed and you'll end up beating yourself up because you are (hopefully not) failing that particular diet.
Sending some happy thoughts your way. You'll get through!0 -
Thanks girls for the responses. I am feeling much better tonight after spending some time with friends (and passing on wonderful looking cheesecake which is my fave). I am so grateful for this group, especially the encouraging words. I'm increasing the exercise this week and we'll see what the scale has in store next week....one day at a time.

Food facts: I hate mushrooms the most and am allergic to shellfish

Hi Losers, your all doing great. I am over my 10% goal so now 3lbs to 2 stone and on to 20%. I have to say MFP is easily the best way to loose weight and stay focussed, all this tracking and support is brilliant. Also I have to say not paying WW's or any weekly club money fto stand in a queue and get weighed is really working for me.
Name Verity
Location Weybridge, Surrey

GW Size 14, about 12 stone
Workouts Pilates, Zumba, Spinning I try to do 3 classes a week and maybe a dance workout at home

Interesting fact My favorite trip so far has been Argentina, I did a week's ride in the Mountains camping out. I loved it0 -
I discovered quinoa a while back... there's a few recipes for quinoa on here... my quinoa chicken curry is pretty tasty!0

Next week after everyone's giving me their final weigh ins I was thinking that I'd make a list showing everyone their % lost?0

Hi Everyone after a very long day, I am at last Home. (11.30pm). Catching up on all the news. idahogirl, you've had a rough time, and its just not fair how weight that can take us so much effort to lose can go back on so quickly. So glad to read that later in the day your feeling better and sounded a lot more positive. My daughter and I work together thursday nights at the Sydney dance Company Studios. We sell the tickets for people to attend dance classes. But where our desk is, is also part of a cafe by day/ bistro by night. The food is amazing and aromas enticing. Tonight a group of ladies seated at a table near to us, ordered an amazing looking dessert. By daughter, (who is dancing in her frist showgirl show this Saturday) says, well that to me looks like a 3 hour in the gym dessert. LOL0

By the way Rach, I am vegetarian,(lacto ovo) So we have milk and eggs. But if you see my diary and like recently it reads lemongrass chicken. Well I log it as the recipe is called that way I can remember which recipe I used but I subsitute the meat for maybe Santitiarium soy fillets, or lentils or mushrooms etc.0 -

Hey ladies, had a very busy day today, I literally went straight from work to interview a band for a webzine I write for, then had to go straight over to the theatre I am a member of to help with a marketing meet! Argh! I only just had a chance to eat now. Not good.
Oh, my date was successful! I am seeing him again tomorrow!0 -

Oh! Quorn is really nice, even though I am not a veggie I often eat it as an alternative to meat. You can make a mean spag bol with it!
I am in a really good mood today! Properly back on track after my naughty couple of weeks on the road when I was unable to track, lost 2.5 lbs this week, taking me to 283.0! I reckon I can get below 280 by the end of March now, thats my mini goal!
I am currently sat at work in my pajamas for Comic-Relief and I have a hot date tonight, so today is a good day! YAY!0
