Yay for Adam!!!! Don't know what to say about the puppy but I thought ladeb's idea made lots of sense. When I first met my husband his dog only loved him and his ex. I started feeding him everyday just because i was home in the day. One time the ex came by wanting to see my husband (who was my boyfriend at the time) and the dog that loved her so much growled at her and she was afraid to come in. Good doggie!!!!!! Bad ex!!!!!

Great Job on finding the dress Laila!!!

    Ann, glad you are back

Okay don't know what to think of my Ryan. I said, "Be a good boy and do all of your work today!" He responded in a very sweet kindergartner voice "No Momma, I not" Do I laugh or just walk away. Okay I said " Yes Ry you have to do a good job, now have a nice day" "okay momma bye" Then I got in the car and laughed. What a little brat, at least he is honest. We will see at noon when he gets off the bus

I am proud of myself for holding myself accountable and making my ticker honest because a few years ago I would have never done that and I would have said I don't care how much I weigh. Now I watch everything I do which sometimes makes me a little crazy but it helps remind me to be aware of what I am doing. Thanks for all the kind words I really am trying hard to finish this weight loss thing and continue on my lifestyle change .

When I 're-committed' to weightloss this January, I had to change my ticker to a new start weight because it was just bothering me too much that I had lost 20 pounds and put it all back on except for a few pounds. It was pyschologically easier for me to just start fresh. It still bugs me when I record my weight and inches in my old notebook to see that I am still not down to where I was a year ago (and not even close to where I was in 1990 when I first started recording my weightloss efforts in that notebook). But I tell myself that where I was doesn't matter anymore, it's where I am going now. We will do this, it isn't easy or we would all be thin already! but it definitely is possible! :flowerforyou:

Ann, great Job!!!! This is a good re-start

Well, Ryan decided to do good in school again. Day 5 of doing ALL of his school work. Now to finish up with The eldest and all of her college paper work we need to do. Exciting though, she is thinking of going to a college closer to where we live. She originally wanted to go to Southern Ca and I was scared because that is a very long drive for us. Now she is thinking of accepting the offer from a College in the Bay Area with a great engineering program!!! Yay

Hey everyone, exams are finally over for me and I feel much happier already despite the fact that I am dealing with some issues with an allergic reaction to some face makeup that I recently bought...I noticed it yesterday when I came home, I noticed my face was itching a little bit during my classes, but didn't really think it was a big deal...I came home and saw all these little tiny bumps all over my face and blotches in random places, I was so horrified and very embarrassed...it's doing a toll on my self esteem right now, but I need to take care of my skin so I don't care how long I will have to go without makeup..I just want it to get better.

I agree with your post!! It wasn't easy for me to change my ticker but I needed too get myself back in to weight loss mode and this time for good.I need this to be a permanent change and I am tired of seeing everyone else around me losing weight and I am making excuses but no more.I am re-dedicating myself to this and sticking with it no matter what.I NEED THIS FOR ME!!! Yes it is way easier to start fresh and I am giving myself credit for sticking with it this long and I am very proud of you as well Istpaul for sticking to it and not giving up.We can do this and we will

Yep, I'm down 2.6 pounds from last Friday. That's what cutting out most of the junk & eating the way I was eating pre-pregnancy got me. I'm sure it's mostly water weight because I certainly didn't have big enough calorie deficits to warrant that much of a loss.

Sadly enough, I'm pretty sure that's biggest loss I've had in over a week's time in about a year.... at 5 months pregnant.

That's great that Ryan had another good day, sometimes one day at a time is what it takes! and now he has strung together 5 days of doing well, woo hoo!
My daughter will go to college in 2012, I am worried about all the college visits, ACT testing, etc. then comes the scholarship and college applications ... oh joy! My daughter wants to go into engineering too, what smart girls we have!

Hey everyone! Just checking in from spring break. I was traveling (and even got in a few workouts) and now I'm back home with one of my best high school friends visiting. I've been watching what I'm eating without worrying about going over on cals as long as I'm under about 1800 net for the day.

    Happy friday girls!!!

I have no clue on my weight, cause yes i have packed the scale!! Last time i got on it i was still maintaining so i will take that, 2 wks and 6 days to go for me and i am outa here

i am soo super uber stressed right now ... THis is not FUN anymore. Yeah it is cool to see the house come together, but we are going up there like 5 -6 times a week..still worrying about the closing, i just want it to be all done.

On top of that, i went in wednesday, for my re-check on my thryoid and vit D. I am awaiting response from the nurse on the results. 6 weeks ago my throid was a little above what they want , so they are rechecking it. If it is still high they said i would need to be on meds..I just don't get it , a few years back (the last year i had printed results) it was 1.97 and now it is 3.6 (they want it to be under 3), so the 1.97 was when i was 300 lbs, now 50ish bls lighter I now have issues.. I could be worrying and maybe it will be just find now...guess just wait and see.

No loss again for me this week.... but given the fact that I've been pretty terrible at eating and exercising, I shall take it!

Adam brought home a Chicago-restaurant-inspired cookbook! I'm going to try out a couple of the recipes for him tonight as a congratulations on the new job :) And it's the weekend! WOO! The city is celebrating St. Patrick's Day this weekend!

And that also marks my one year anniversary as a Chicagoan. Hard to believe!

Oh, no ma'am, I haven't! I'm at a 22 pound GAIN right now. Being pregnant during Thanksgiving & Christmas was a recipe for disaster. I gained 15 pounds during 1st tri (& about 25 pounds in my first 21 weeks). I'm just trying to do damage control at this point & keep my total gain under 30lbs.

Ann and Julie- Great job on the 2+ pound losses!! Keep it up ladies! :glasses:

1stpaul- Same here! I felt that I would have at least lost another pound, but it is a loss and I will take it!! We have another brand new week and weigh in around the corner, let's work hard this week.

Debbie: I am sorry you are going through a super stressful time right now, I know it is easier said than done but try to find some outlets for that stress in order to calm your nerves a little bit. I know no matter what you will come out strong, just focus on the day to day.:flowerforyou:

Teresa- Let me know how the recipes you try work out and if you can please share if you enjoyed, I am always looking for more variety of recipes.

My blotchy face is going down, the redness and burning is gone...although now the bumps have gotten super dry and hard...and itch really bad ughhhh so uncomfortable....and working out and sweating does not make the situation any better.

Momma: I'm proud of Ryan for 5 days of doing all of his work! That's amazing!

Momma and lstpaul: I'm impressed that you both have daughters interested in engineering. What a great career path, as there are so many opportunities!

Nothing new to report on this front. I've been lazy this week, though still doing pretty good on the food front. It's so hard to focus on both things at once that I usually do either food or exercise each week and it seems to even out. Maybe someday I'll be more focused.

    Checking in for yesterday:
Points: A little over for the day, but still good for the week.
    Water: 67.6 oz.
    Exercise: None
Proud: That the bf and I ordered smaller portions at our favorite Italian restaurant last night and skipped dessert. We also spent time attempting (well he was doing them!) push ups, pull ups, planks, supermans, bridges, etc on the bedroom floor. Oh, and they were really exercise moves, not code names for "other stuff".

Andrea, aren't you from campbell CA? Have you heard anything about the Tsunami hitting the coast yet? I am seeing that it may not be as bad as first reported but that the first wave is sometimes lighter than the second and third. My 4th graders was concerned. I let her know we are about 95 miles inland and we have nothing to worry about.

I was watching weather reports for Hawaii and CA and it looked like it wasn't going to be as bad as they had predicted.I have a friend in Hawaii and he said the sirens went off but now they are saying the water is receding and its not going to hit like they had originally predicted.

I was down almost another pound this morning! :noway: Now at 219.4. That means I've lost 1.4 pounds since 5 weeks ago when I vowed to get my weight gain under control (and a 3.5 pound or so loss in the last 1.5 weeks when I actually got serious about getting my weight gain under control). This is more than a little awesome. It's truly amazing what a little calorie tracking & not being a total idiot will do, huh?

Today is "I'm going to eat everything I've craved this week" day (within reason) which will include a calzone and chocolate ice cream. Looks like I'll be around 2100 cals (which should be a couple hundred under today's maintenance).

My daughter is doing a program where she will attend college next year as a senior in HS. Then she too will be off to college in 2012. It is unnerving me. She has taken her ACT once already - how in the world do you find out if her score is OK? My dd hasn't a clue what she wants to do.
