oh, and I have burnt 4429 calories so far this week!? How mad is that!?
  • "The Diet" is hilarious, but sad at the same time cause we've all been there... I am so happy I am no longer stuck with that diet. yesterday I realised how much I have changed. I treated myself with ice cream and was planning on 100 gram, when the scale showed me 50 gram I thought to myself How much do you want me to eat Mr. Scale? If this is 50 - 100 must be loads of ice cream. Thinking back I could eat half a litre of ice cream on one night and that was not a problem for me. I think I am damaged for life lol.

Tami - I am so happy to hear that you proved you doctor wrong and congratulations again to kicking your fears in the butt!!! You are doing awesome.

Rachy - Don't over do anything, take it easy and listen to your body. And it is seriously insane that you have burnt 4429, and it is only friday...

Jenni - Show the chocolate who is the boss! You can do this! :)

Sorry for not being around for the last few days. Been really tired! Missed you guys and happy easter!!!

I have failed at my goals badly this week. I have been too stressed with finals and work I guess, And to top it all off my husband has been distant and irritable the last couple of days which has never happened in our 1 1/2 yrs together so that has had me worried and even more stressed.

I went to the doctor yesterday and had blood drawn to see if it may be candida that I am dealing with. I won't have the results back for over a week, but it will be good to know. I did the saliva test and it showed positive; however, it is said that it is not always reliable or accurate. So we will see.

    Hey my Idaho friend,
Don't be too hard on yourself. Coping with finals is hard enough and trying to deal with your health as well. Remember your husband could be worried about you and not sure how to cope with it. Also with what you have on you could be super sensitive and reading his actions/feelings all wrong. In a few days everything will be back to normal. Hang in there, you are doing great.:flowerforyou:

Nice one Jenni! Bet you're super chuffed with yourself! Next week I will be doing a lot of walking as we're off camping and the beach is 1.5 miles away... Lots of walking to and from it from the campsite... and it's up hill on the way back! Should do the waist line some good and burn off some of the sausages and burgers we'll be bbqing!

Tami - you haven't failed... you've had other things on your mind and that's cool - the difference is you know where you went wrong and can rectify it... But you certainly haven't failed! Look how far you've come in the last few weeks! You're the lightest you've been in a few years - concentrate on the good things you've achieved and will continue to achieve... I'm sure your husband is just worried about your health - talk to him - these things are better said that mulled over in your head...

    big love losers!

Hi ladies....sorry I haven't responded much to any of you.....it has been crazy hectic with work and finals and life. I will be better this next week I promise. I just have one final left to complete and it is in a class I absolutely hate and then next Saturday is graduation. YEAH!! Then in 3 weeks I start all over with the next set of classestoward my next degree. But at least that degree will consist of 26 Psychology classes and my electives. No Algebra or Finance or Accounting to bog me down!

Today is my last day of eating 500 calories. I am so excited that I get to increase them tomorrow just in time for Easter dinner. We have chosen baked ham with no brown sugar or pineapple on it or anything else that contains sugar. That and steamed broccoli is on our menu. No Easter goodies this year and no dinner rolls or homemade buns either. I am still restricted on what I can and cannot have, but not nearly as much so. We'll see what Mr. Scale has to say about the changes.

I really want this next 12.6 pounds to come off. I don't know that I will reach my graduation goal as I am pretty much sitting still again. The weekly weight loss will be okay but the scale has not been nice for a couple of days.

Hope everyone has a very Happy Easter!! And no struggles with food temptations.

Happy Easter everyone! I am excited i can eat chocolate again and am proud of myself for giving it up for lent! I haven't stuck at lent for years! Hahaha! Enjoying my bank holiday and making the most of the weather, on Friday i went to Stratford Upon Avon (Shakespeare's birthplace) it is not far from me and so beautiful, we got a rowing boat out of the river which was fun. Have my boyfriend over for the next couple of days, hope you are all having a good weekend!

    Hi Losers!

Having a lovely easter weekend here. It was our wedding anniversary yesterday, so we ate out, and I had to guess the calories, but I feel I made good choices. I didn't have a pudding, as I was planning to have an icecream at the cinema ... but they didn't have any chocolate icecream left, so I gave it a miss. I didn't want to waste my hard earned calories on something I didn't really want! Quite a change from the old me!

Today we had a child free day together, then family came for Easter Dinner. I ate far too much dinner and physically couldn't eat any pudding, which it seems is just as well as I would have been over if I'd have had it!

Hoping to still be 83.1kg (or less!) as I was on Friday morning.

Good luck to everyone else with the weigh ins tomorrow.

Tami - Good luck with the last of your finals.

Poorcopies - great work on the no chocolate for lent challenge. I'd really struggle to give anything up for that amount of time!

Jenn - well done on the 1, 2, 3, 4 challenge ... I didn't make it, though I have had really great calorie burning week. Total burn this week 5149! I really need to do some strength training, and that will be my challenge for next week. My husband is trying to encourage me to look at how much sugar I eat, I have looked at it, but seriously think it must be near impossible to keep below the recommended amounts. Even on days where I have nothing 'sweet', my sugar is over ... maybe when I've lost some more kgs I'll give that a go!

Help. Having a hard time process news of the death of my spiritual guru. Sri Sathya Sai Baba. He lived in Puttaparthi, India. We visited many times (7) my daughter was 7 last time we went over. So 13 years ago. We would live on the ashram for weeks and live a very spiritual lifestyle. Feel blessed that we got to experience these wonderful times. But not sure how to feel now?

Sorry for your loss Jenni... Don't really know what to say but to try and think about any teachings he gave you? Spirituality will mean different things to different people so think about what he meant to you and celebrate his life and what he meant to you..

    Have a good day xx
  • Good job everyone! I am so happy Easter is finally over so that I'll be able to eat normally again! I had to blame my different lifestyle on something. Back on it tomorrow! The 1, 2, 3, 4 challenge I didn't finish and for next week I'm planning on starting a six week program to improve my arm strength and abs. Gonna do pushups and sit-ups. I know it is a lot to promise, but I wanna give it a try. You can find the program on www.twohundredsitups.com. Next week I will also focus on my water intake... Have been a little low during Easter :grumble:

As I wrote to you before Jenni, I am sure you will get through this and in the end be even stronger than you are now. And I agree with Claire, celebrate his life. And more important your life!

    Take care all of you!

Jenn, big love coming at you. I agree with the others, think of how lucky you are to have enjoyed a meaningful spiritual experience, many people live their whole lives never being touched spiritually. Think of his teachings and celebrate his life.

Hey Hanna, I may join you with your two hundred sit ups, will check out the website in a mo. I need to do some strength training.

Well I'm very please to be posting a 1.5kg loss!! Now weighing in at 82.5kg or 181.9lb. My husband, kindly said, "you've lost 1.5kg after eating all that dinner last night". Ha ha I have!! He also pointed out that I'm now only a few kg heavier than him! Woohooo!!

This week will be a challenge, forecast to rain all week, so getting out for my runs and bike rides will be more of a challenge!

Thanks everyone for your support. Yes I will remember his teachings and all that I learned. I feel very lucky that I had the experience.

Rach you are awesome. You must be feeling quite fit and strong.

I have lost another 300grams. 98.3kg (216.7pound). Happy with that. Especially after the chocolate I ate late last night which didn't get logged and that was after bad day anyway. My husband bought home heaps of chocolate from overseas. Think I might get him to take it to work to share out. I thought I could resist the temptation but NO ONE IS THAT STRONG.

ANZAC DAY here in Australia. This is a big day for us. Probably the most important on our calendar. It is to remember and honour our Armed Services. ANZAC stands for Australia and New Zealand Army Corps. Today is the anniversary of when we first landed in Galliope. There are dawn services across the country and marches (parades). Today we are watching it on TV. Hubby still sick with the flu. I love seeing all the old diggers (soldiers). Many, no, all looking forward to this day each year. Its a day of reunions for a lot. We honour all past and serving members on this day, from many battles and conflicts. Its an emotional day for all.

Congrats to the loss!! That is insane, how did you manage that during Easter!?

Welcome aboard! I did my Max-test yesterday and the result was for Girl Push-ups: 13 (I'm not kidding when I say I have no arm strength) and for the Sit-Ups: 12... Truly poor results, but it can only get better from here... Just took my measurements as well so I can (hopefully) see an improvement in 6 weeks. I am thinking I will build up my arm strength now and in 6 weeks I can go for the real push-up program.

No weigh in for me today ladies, I'm still on scale rehab :drinker: but congrats to everyone's losses. You girls are super heroes to me!

Jenni my heart goes out to you. Death is never easy to deal with, especially when it is someone you care for and respect. All I can say is try to find serenity in knowing that you are who you are partly because of the teachings and inspiration acquired from knowing this person, live each day in a way that would be pleasing to him and yourself, and pass on the wisdom to others that you learned during your time spend with him. That is what will keep his memory and his life alive and with you always.

Congrats everyone on a job well done this week. And to those who did the Lent challenge great work.

I made it through lent with no dairy and no chocolate am happy with that. I am at 327.2 for a total of 4 pounds lost this week. I wanted to be down to 325 by Easter, but so long as I am down I am happy with the progress. I am at the same as I was yesterday, but that is okay. I was really worried about increasing my calories from the 500 I had been doing. I was glad to see that eating ham for Easter dinner did not cause me to bloat from the sodium.

I only burned 2541 calories this last week so I fell a little short of my 3500 goal. But I am happy to say that I only have 1106 to burn this week to meet my 10% increase from last month. I am excited as I know I will be able to do that!

Food for thought ~~ don't eat based on your emotions and don't base your emotions on what you eat

Thanks for your thought for the week Tami, I needed that right then! I made meringues this morning, and I've eaten 5 of the damn things, they're not too bad for the calories, and once I log my exercise I'l be well under my goal, but maybe the sugar is messing with my head ... feeling kind of down about having eaten them!? Definitely basing my emotions on what I've eaten!

Right I'm off to do my initial test for the 200 sit ups ... and work out my calories burnt for April so far ...

Just done my initial push up / sit up tests; 13 knee push ups, 36 sit ups ... I think it'll be a good challenge, thanks for suggesting it Hanna.

Calorie burn this month is 14761 so far, will probably burn another 1600 by the end of the month, which will leave me a bit short of burning the same as March (16970) ... Will see how I feel on Friday, I might fit in an extra bike ride just to equal last months burn!

Good job! Especially on the sit-ups!! When I saw how much you've burnt this month I decided to see how much I have burnt the last 26 days... And i had to calculate the result twice to actually believe what I saw. I can tell you already that upping these calories next month is next to impossible!! So far the calories I've burnt are 17692(!!!!) and I still have four more days... I don't know what happened really, but I am proud of myself. Great feeling! Now I'm off to change the tires on mum's car... have a happy happy Tuesday!

    All my love!

Well done on the losses ladies! Jen, sorry to hear your bad news, hope you are ok now.

I will be on forced scale rehab for the next weigh in, as going to London to stay with a friend and I don't want to weigh on anothers scales incase they are out. I hope thats ok! I am going to track via my app, but I might be sporadic with my posting, but hope you all have a good week! :)

Thanks everyone for your kind words. Life is moving on for me.

Rach and Hanna well done with your push ups and sit ups. I have no upper body strength so should probably join in. But I thought I would concentrate on stamina and walking ready for the mothers day 8km walk on 8th May.

Hanna well done on the April burn. Thats an awesome number. Rach you did have a big number last month so hard to improve on.

I'm going to be pushing it to reach my April burn. Now have daughter sick. Husband still home sick. Really throwing my routine out. Oh well.

Beccy are you going to London for the Royal Wedding. I would if I was there. I love going to special (historical) events.

~~I am so nervous about Saturday and graduation. I have never graduated before as I was home-schooled through junior high and high school. The closer it gets the more nervous I am becoming. I want chocolate so bad to help me through this, but have determined not to give in to the craving or desire. I have had no refined sugar in my body for 47 days and don't want to give that up. So I am finding ways of keeping busy that do not include overeating (boy have I gotten a lot of reading done lately). Other than life things are going well. I am fluctuating between 1.5 pounds again so the numbers have not reduced any, but at least it's just a fluctuation and not a gain. I am okay with that now. I am not going to reach my graduation goal weight, but I am also okay with that. Today I am exactly 7 pounds from it.

On the work side of life, I have applied for a management position in the company I work for. If I get the position I will have to move to Phoenix, AZ. I have never lived outside of Idaho so this would be good move for me, but would put me farther away from my family. That will be HUGE if it happens, but my hubby and I have been talking for over a year now about moving for a change in our lives. There are of course pro's and con's to the position as with any change in life. I should know by next week and if I do get it I will be flying to Phoenix for 3 weeks training.

Hope everyone is having a great day. Keep up the good work ladies!!

Congrats to being OK with the fact that your body is fluctuating, and most of all that you didn't let the fear of gain keep you from losing! I know that chocolate can be comforting, but it does not help at all for graduation. No magical super chocolate powers there! I really hope you get the job! Moving on in you professional life is always wonderful. You will find a way to see your family!

Today it is university day for me. My new course starts today and I'm really looking forward to it! Happy Thursday everyone!
