Yeah it feels like it's a bit flat in here. I know a lot of us are struggling, but I really want us all to help each other get back on track.

I love our little loser group! :(

Hi all, have stayed in city longer than expected. Will be home tomorrow arvo. Very busy time here stayed to help Samara out. She has a bit of work as an extra on a movie as well as her regular job and of course on top of that the entertainment company she is with rang her with an urgent fill in job. She lives a stressful life at times. For the movie she has to be pale no sun or spray tans last nights job required a tan and she had 2 hour between movie rehearsal and getting to dance job. We did it. 4 hands make light work. Hair drying while make up done, powder bronze on body for tan look. I pack bag she dresses and out the door. Today I have done her washing cleaning shopping etc and tonight we met with my brother and his wife for dinner. Oh my husband gave up and has joined us in the city. We went to our favorite restaurant so I will not even attempt to log. Hope you are all going well and strong. I have kept up my challenge except for the last day. Hope to do that tomorrow when I get home. Do not want to jump on this floor.

I bought a bike today! I'm well excited! Now we just need to get a child seat for DD and we're good to go!

Looking forward to measuring on Monday morning.... Can't guarantee I'll have lost any weight but hopefully the measurements will show something!

We are going to keep the group going aren't we? I'm not sure why we all seem to have lost our mojo at one time or another but we got to stick together - even if it's just somewhere to rant, cry or jump for joy... right?

    Woooohooooooo!

I'm back to working part time next week. I'm soooo giddy and excited about it! I hadn't realised how much of my energy was being sapped up by working full time.

Of course we're sticking together, do we need to go hassle Hanna? Where is she? She's part of this group, no one is allowed out until we're all slimsters I say!

I've had yet another bad week, gained again, that's 3kg in 3 weeks! I'd be over the moon if they were losses, but unfortunately not!! Anyway, I've been doing some goal setting and have decided that I really need to visualise where I want to be. So far I've just been telling myself off for going off track, and that's just not working, clearly I don't listen to myself!! LOL! So I'm thinking a bit of shopping therapy might be the way forward. I'm going to buy myself some clothes that are a bit too small(!!!) and give myself a date by which time they will fit well ...

I think we need to brainstorm some motivational ideas, so we can see where we want to be, something to focus on

Bike will be such fun Claire! I bet there are some lovely cycle ways in Wales to explore. I shall be getting out and about on mine again next week. Can't wait!

I'm home. YAY!!!!! So tired the city does exhaust me. The energy level is so high. And I realise I dont sleep that well in there, well I'm a poor sleeper at the best of times but in there, i wake every half hour but i do roll over and go back to sleep. First Saturday night I have stayed there boy is it noisy. Bloody drunks at all hours. Anyway it was fathers day today so we had a lovely day together and went to our beautiful Botanical Gardens on the harbour. A short walk from Samara's unit It was a perfect spring day. Everyone was out enjoying the sun. My daughter would normally have been soaking up the sun and trying to get a tan, but today was fully covered. No tanning allowed for movie. October she can enjoy the sun.

Weigh in and measuring in the morning. Honestly, do not feel any differrent and it seems each week I have a least one or two bad days, really bad days, so i shouldnt expect any difference.

So this week, I try again. Day by day for me at the moment and whatever i weigh tomorrow I hope in one week I will weigh at least a wee bit less.

I think its great you have a bike Claire. That would be exciting I do not have the confidence to go out on the streets even if i had a bike.

Rach, going back to less hours at work is great as it will give you more time to work on your exercise plan.

Yes lets get us all back on wagon. Well really it would do us better to stop taking a ride on the wagon and get off it and push it.

I want to see a big difference in the next 12 weeks.

Right lovely Losers ... it's what 16 (ish?!) weeks until Christmas? By Christmas I will be at my goal weight 68kg, so shall we do 2 x 7 week challenges? With a week break in-between?

Shall we have an 'easy' week this week? Plan out our 7 week challenge to start next Monday 12th September.

How do we feel about continuing with 'point based challenges? Or shall we mix it up with some point weeks and some of our old challenges?

If we continue with point based challenges I was wondering about pairing us up, so we feel accountable! I know that's what helps me get to bootcamp, so if we worked in pairs or threes and you get bonus points each day if everyone in your little group stays under their calories and has enough water? Or something like that? So we can boss each other rather than bossing ourselves!!!

And for this week shall we just have a who can burn the most calories challenge ...??

I'm going to do this ladies tabata exercises for 6 days this week ... incase any of you miss the daily exercise challenges! These are just 4 mins and look pretty good to me.

Love your ideas Rach. I'm in what ever you say i will do or at least attempt to do. I am happy with the most calorie burn this week to really get me moving. 16 weeks to xmas ok then i want to be in the 80's kgs by then. Can't wait or even imagine saying that I'm 89 kgs or even less.

I'd like to mix the challenges up. I don't like doing exercise at home after I hurt myself doing the 30 Day Shred, I prefer to do it at the gym, so haven't really felt like I can join in so much with these last few challenges. Although the boyfriend is bringing the Wii fit round so I may try that.

I definitely want to keep the group going. Do we maybe have a few people we can invite in for the next ones? I think that might help, some fresh blood to motivate us all!

Brac's back at school this week so I'm going to be right back on it.. Will try and get to the gym on Monday morning before I go and pick my bike up and if the weather's good will go for a bike ride after Brac finishes school..

Will weigh tomorrow morning too - don't think it's going to be a loss - think I've gained - AGAIN.... Maybe the measuring tape will show more willing!!

Really looking forward to getting back into exercising - going to dig out my Wii Sports Active 2 and do a month plan with that again...

I'm off on holiday in 6 weeks - a week in Menorca for a bit of sun before winter sets in so will do everything I can to drop a jean size by then... Would like to be a comfortable UK size 20.... and then an 18 by Christmas would be nice!

Hopefully my zaggora hotpants will arrive soon too - so they should help!

Where is Hanna?? Haven't heard from her in ages! Will send her a little message...

Will be back tomorrow with the final weight and measurements... Should be interesting to say the least! Then I'll sort out everyones losses from the figures I had at the beginning of the challenge...

Off to a BBQ this afternoon - hope it stays dry!

Have a great day ladies :)

Monday. Morning all. Weigh in 95.1kg. So I have a had the enormous loss of 200grams since the start of this challenge :blushing: but a loss of 600grams i think since last week.
Could someone please do my percentage for the chart again, and i guess you should tell me the formular so i can do it myself. I'm usually good with numbers.
Am excited to do the calorie burn challenge this week and thought i would be off to a good start with zumba class tonight, but it has been cancelled.

I will burn some serious calories somehow today. But as its 10am and have had a wonderful sleep in, guess I better roll out of bed and get started.

    Oh measurements no change.

Well I forgot to weigh before breakfast this morning as was rushing to get Brac ready to go back to school so will add weight tomorrow...

Have, however, just done my measurements and I'm amazed!

    starting measurements (cm):

    Neck - 36
    Chest - 103.5
    Waist - 109
    Hips - 127
    U. thigh - 65
    U. Arm - 43

    Current measurements (cm)

    Neck - 36
    Chest - 101
    Waist - 107.5
    Hips - 123
    U Thigh- 63.5
    U Arm - 38

    Loss (cm)

    Neck - 0
    Chest - 2.5
    Waist - 1.5
    Hips - 4
    U thigh - 1.5
    U Arm - 5

    Total overall loss of 14.5cm!

Even if my weight as increased (which it probably has) - the measurements are AWESOME!

Claire that is a wonderful result. Who cares what the scales says when you are obviously getting smaller.

    Loving having a HRM
    2 hours ironing = 368 cal burn.
1 hour doing nothing (sitting on sofa, eating dinner, and fed cat) = 121 cal burn.
40min on exercise bikes with a few 1 minute go fast bursts = 192cal burn.

Only logging the bike calorie burn. Which is less than MFP says, hopefully I will see some weight loss now with keeping it more accurate.

Had thought i would burn at least 500 cal today with Zumba, but the satisfation of 2 hours ironing out weighed the disappointment of zumba being cancelled. Yes I could have gone to a class somewhere else or even aqua aerobics which i haven't been to for months. but it was nice not going out today plus I'm home alone and enjoying my space.

Claire what a fantastic loss in inches. Great job.

Jenni glad you are loving your new HRM i hope it helps a lot.

Already went for my walk on to crunches and jumping jacks next.

    have a great day.

Well I'm now 77.7 which is a 1.6kg gain this challenge.

I'm oddly OK with that, as I know that I'm going to be at goal weight by Christmas. I 'd feel less confident if I was heading into winter, but spring is in the air here. This is the time of year I usually lose weight, so I just know I can do it, and I'm so proud of how I've managed to keep my exercise up through winter. Usually winter means zero exercise for me.

I'll measure in a min ... will be back ...

    Measurements at start of challenge:

    Neck 37cm
    Chest 104.5cm
    Waist 94cm
    (Belly 103cm)
    Hips 103cm
    Thighs right 61.5cm
    Upper arm right 30.5cm

    Measurements now:

    Neck 36.5cm
    Chest 103cm
    Waist 93cm
    Hips 103cm
    (Belly 104cm)
    Thigh right 62cm
    Upper arm right 31cm

Not too bad actually ... well much better than I was expecting with the weight gain! Just goes to show it's well worth measuring!

Rach, you are an inspiration regardless of weight gain or loss and measurements. You inspire me when i see your exercise burns logged. Doing boot camp and I like the links you send us for exercise. the 4 minute one looks good. Yep I've sat and watched it, strangely didn't burn any calories sitting and watching, guess i have to actually do them. I also liked the challenges you set us and with the spreadsheet for accountability. Its nice to have something to tick off when you manage to do things. I for one would like to do that again. And the partner idea is good too.

So yesterday was not a big calorie burn. But I felt good. Slept in again today, I do stay up rather late and for once in my life i don't have to be up early (except i do feel like I've missed half the day) Still it was only 2 days and good rest is also a key to weight loss.

I am a little obsessed with health lately. Each week when i go into samara i buy another health magazine, getting quite a pile in there. Green tea seems to be little treasure that can help with everything. Cooked tomatoes is better than raw. Increases something in them. Chilli is good for weight loss. I have fresh chilli's growing in my garden. May have over done it on yesterdays dinner. Must remember everthing in moderation.

Claire congratulations on your measurements, they are awesome! I hope the scales play nicely too! I'm soooo pleased we measured at the start, as I do feel I have made a bit of progress there!

Jenn- I love that you sat on the sofa with your HRM on!

I was voted "bootcamper" of the bootcamp at last night's bootcamp dinner! So pleased about that, though I couldn't believe people would really vote for me. I'm a very quiet person, not what I consider to be motivational!! Plus I have gained weight this bootcamp, but hey they probably didn't notice that! They said I'm always keen, and so focussed and they want to be able to run like I can!! And I suppose the fact that 6 months ago I couldn't really run helps them to see that no matter what stage they're at, it's do able!

I am LOVING being a stay at home mum again! The pace of life is much better. I hadn't really realised, but I wasn't really listening to my children when I was working full time, and was rushing from one place to another. This week we've biked to school and back, made playdough, had friends over to play. I just love it!

Right so our first 7 week challenge will be a mixture of points challenges and our old challenges.

I was thinking weeks 1, 3, 5, and 7 could be points challenges. We can organise pairs, and I think we should swap each time, so we all get a chance to motivate each other!!
    Week 2 - ??? Any suggestions???
    Week 4, can be like a mid term break - set your own 1, 2, 3, 4
week 6 - burn the most calories challenge

    What do you think??
  • chiliflea
    chiliflea Posts: 695 Member
Weighed this morning... 266.4lbs... AGAIN! So that means i'm 2.4lbs up on the start of the challenge! Ah well - the measurements mean I've changed shape so it's not all bad...

Rach - I'm up for whatever you throw at us!

We'll continue with this thread so if we can all post our starting weights so it's a pin point for the next challenge?

So challenge 4 - starting weight is 266.4...

Am going to try and lose 1lb a week at least so hope to be 259 by the end of the 7 week challenge.... Less would be better but anywhere near that will be great!

Oooooo and my zagorra hotpants have been shipped so hopefully they'll arrive soon!!

Congratulations Bootcamper. :drinker:  :drinker: :flowerforyou: Rach its the attitude that counts. And your positive, consistent, determination attitude has shone through.  :flowerforyou: :drinker:
I'm glad you saw the humour in me sitting on the sofa with the HRM on. I do like having it. I can't believe how many calories can be burnt gardening. Although my muscles sure tell me I have worked hard out there. Encourages me to get gardening more.

Week 2 - suggestion, weed the garden
or walk/run challenge walk/run 5km a day or who can walk the furtherest?
    or 10,000 steps a day.

Thats all i have for ideas. Anyone else?

Starting weight 95.1kg or do is it next monday the start of the 7 week challenge. I hope to lose around 300grams (1/2 lb) a week.

    CW: 214 - Now 212.6

    Neck : 38cm (15in) same
    Chest: 110.5 (43.5 in) down 1.3
    Waist : 103cm (40.5in) down 1.4
    Hips: 110.5cm (47in) same
    Thighs: 71cm (28in) down 1.1
    Upper arm: 42.5cm (16.75in) same

so a total of 1.4lbs lost and 3.8 or 1.5 inches lost

No nearly as much as I had hoped.

so are we weighing in now or next Monday? if it's now

    SW: 212.6
GW: 205 that's just over 1 ppound a week. but I'd love love love to be under 200 lbs.

Rach challenge looks good to me. I like the ide aof a how many miles challenge for week 2. Maybe we could get bonus points for trying somthing new during the points challenge.

Hey ladies. Just to let you all know that I'm home tomorrow and will be back online properly then. I've not really been anywhere near a computer all week and it's a nightmare getting on from my phone. Hope you're all well. I'll catch up on the last posts when I get back tomorrow. xxx

Hello Ladies .... guess who's not working full time anymore!!!

    I've made us a new spreadsheet ...

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aq0fwi7BJUivdERVU0V6OWVnUWpMZVdwenhya1NxekE&hl=en_US

First sheet is our weigh in, so we can put in our weekly weights, shall we all agree to enter them in pounds?

Then I've done a sheet for each of our weeks for the 7 week challenge ...

Week 1 is a points challenge - same as last time with partner points added, and bonus points for trying a new exercise class/ activity. I've set the spreadsheet up so that the partner points automatically update, so you just put in your own calorie and water points and your partner will receive their bonus points automatically. Though we're in partners we'll still have one person being loserville's biggest loser!

I just copied from the old spreadsheet, and did partners based on the order we were in that ... so partners for week 1 are
    Me and Nicki
    Jenni and Claire
    Courtney and Becky
Hanna and Tami - if they're here somewhere .... we miss you girls ... :-(

Becky I know you don't want to do the 'daily exercise challenges' at home, so you need to decide on something you're happy to do, that would mean doing a bit more than normal for 6 out of the 7 days. Eg. Do 5 more mins cardio and 30 more weight reps at the gym, walk/ run an extra mile.

As Becky said we could invite friends to join us too.

Wow Rach. Your spreadsheeting skills are impressive. I like them. Maybe I should look at doing a computer course.

So looking forward to starting our next challenge. Claire, you and I, what a powerful team we will make. Look out ladies.
2 questions, the 50 calories thats staying within as in either over or under. and Please can someone tell me how to work out my weight loss percentage?

While out today, having ultra sound on hip, pick up results tomorrow. I went to the our weekly market, hardly ever go. But its spring sooo I have picked up a few plants to plant out later today when it is a bit cooler. Tomato, lettuce, baby spinach, and apple cucumber. I already have beans and radishes in. I love watching them grow.
Feeling good so far this week, except for having to put myself to bed early last night to stop a binge feast. I'm taking things easier and calmer this week, well so far anyway.

    Into the city tomorrow. Thursday.

That's some impressive spreadsheeting talent you have there Rach! Looking forward to whooping some butt with you Jen!

I've had the new date for my medical assessment... Wednesday 21st September.... Bit apprehensive about it as you all well know!! Guess what will be will be... Have been thinking about maybe going back to college... Maybe doing some kind of teaching assistant training...

The way it looks I'll be put into the work activity group at best which means I will have to start going to support groups to get back into work... I don't understand why mothers are pushed back into work when they'd rather be raising their children.... I don't want someone else to be looking after my DD (that I'd have to PAY for!) while I'm shelf staking in a supermarket because the government says I have to go to work.... Maybe if more mothers were given the opportunity to be at home with their children society wouldn't be in such a mess now! Grrrrr Sorry rant over!
