    7/29: 220.2

I'm shocked as heck about the big loss! I had TOM on the 5th so I must've been retaining more water than I expected!
    YAY ME! :)

1.4 to go and I get my new workout clothes! :)
  • Thanks for the link on the twists! I met my mini goals yesterday...I do at least 10 cups of water every day anyway...this shouldn't be hard at all...today! :)

How about leg lifts? Or squats? Not sure on a number though.

In my Oxygen magazine there is an article for Squat Jumps. It works your butt, quads & hamstrings. 25-50 would be ideal! Maybe we could do the squats and Reverse Lunges?

Reverse Lunges works your butt & quads.

    What do you think?

Sounds good to me! They look tough, but no pain, no gain, right? :)

That's a gain, booooo. I expected it though. A high sodium, high sugar weekend combined with TOM is a baaaaaad combination. Here's to next week!

BTW I cannot do things like squat jumps because of my knees but other things I'm up for!!

Have fun on your ride!! And good job on the water :) I can't do squat jumps either...but mainly because I can't stretch my arm over my head to get the heighth (I don't think that is how you spell that...looks wierd to me). LOL.

Hey you guys are all doing great!! Cool idea on the challenges. I can't do the jumping either till my back gets stronger.

Oh on vacation I had 3 hour layover in Chicago so I walked the all of the terminals for exercise. Thursday we did Noah's Ark its a water park so we did a lot of walking and stairs. We were there at least 5 hours. Friday we did some visiting with family that wouldn't make it to reunion weekend. Saturday we were at Milwaukee Zoo for 5 hours too of walking around and then downtown walked around on Water St. Sunday we walked the river walk and then did the Brewers game so a lot of walking around there (we tailgated before and after).

Sounds like a fun vacation/reunion! I would love to do the water parks in the Dells sometime. I admire your dedication to walk the terminals during your layover! Good for you! :)

Way to go everyone! Getting a hour of cardio a day is a good idea for everyone - there are so many kinds of cardio exercises out there. Walks with the kids, bike riding, swimming etc.!

Don't forget to let me know your weigh ins so I can update the spreadsheet when you jump on the scale for the weekly weigh in!
  • Start: 228
    7/26: 226
    8/4: 235
    8/12: 230
    8/16: 229

I'm yo-yoing SO bad. :( The good news is, I think I found my groove.

    (Ultimate begging weight was 237)
    7/26: 228
8/2: 230 (really weighed in on the 3 of Aug)
    8/9: 227.6
    8/16: 227.2

I only lost .4 this week (I KNOW that a loss is a loss...but dang it, I worked my butt off this week!!). If it didn't tick me off so much, I would probably give up (which has been my problem for a very long time...not seeing results quick enough and I would just say screw it). But, I am to the point where it just makes me want it MORE and I am not giving up. I lowered my cals (gonna try that for a week) from 1610 (-1.5 lb per week supposedly) to 1340 (-2 lb per week supposedly). I am watching my sodium and I am going to drink water like it is going out of style for a week. I have some major catching up to do!! No more picking my kids up in the car. I am going to walk the 18 minute round trip in the morning and afternoon. In fact, I am leaving early to go and do a bit more before picking them up. I am sorta p.o'ed at myself right now, as you can probably tell. I was down to 226 on Saturday. Wtheck? After all that work yesterday :( And Thursday and Friday of killing my shoulder. I am just pissed.

Jess, I know it's hard but DONT be discouraged!! Same thing happened to me...no change in weight for almost 2 solid weeks...SO frustrating, but I kept trying and trying to figure out what I needed to tweak, and now I'm down 3lbs so it WILL pay off girl! :) You're doing awesome!
  • You'll get past it! (That's what I have to keep telling myself)

    100 Mountain climbers & 50 Russian Twists!

    How do you do these?

If you go to Youtube, you can find several videos.

The Mountain Climber is like so:
Get in a push up pose but crawl your feet up a bit so your rear is sticking up in the air (Like a "A")
Bring one foot in towards your hands
Push that foot back to start post all while bringing the other foot up towards your other hand.
Very good cardio! VERY hard on the shoulder!!

The Russian Twist is where you stand up, feet shoulders width apart...hold a dumb bell in front of you and twist your whole chest from one side to the other.

"Russian Twists" make me think of some sort of yummy, creamy alcoholic beverage....oh wait, that's a White Russian. Way more fun than a Russian Twist.
