    Awe. Crap!!! Sorry Guys! I was a lazy bum yesterday and forgot to post an OWL challenge.

    I just wanna do something easy.

    Cardio - 30 mins equals 1 Owl


    (Do we wanna a max or unlimited?)

    This is my first weighin. 150.2 so I will start checking in with all the other stuff now that I've weighed in. Too bad the challenge got moved from veggies to fruit. I eat a lot of veggies.

    Sorry I've been MIA the last few days. It's been crazy around here and my best friend just lost her mom yesterday so I haven't been online much over the weekend. But then again I ate and exercised HORRIBLY over the weekend too so BETTER FORWARD!!

  • Hello! I hope everyone has had a good start to the week. My day was stress filled as per usual and once again, no weight loss. I think that I'm not losing weight because of how stressed I am. Endless circle! :explode:

  • Hey, Folks I am back. I am up at 172.8 but I am also bloated almost time of the month here. I am rededicating myself to losing weight again. I have slacked for far too long. I would like to lose 15 pounds by christmas. I plan to make a few meals tonight so I can control my eating.


    I also had an idea about maybe we could share some recipes we eat.

    I will be doing my cardio tonight!!! I am looking forward to getting back into it.

    Good morning all,

    I was so happy with my 2.2 lb weight loss on Sunday, then yesterday, the scale crept back up, and today up 0.2 more lbs. OY!! So it goes with weight loss. Here are my stats for yesterday:

  • I like the suggested idea of sharing recipes, it'll be good to get some new ideas for food. I know I could do with some inspiration! Tomorrow I have day two of my work placement which I'm really excited about. I'm doing a year long placement in a school and I'm in a class of 6 - 7 year olds who are hilarious. They're the best age! :laugh:

    Weight is up 1lb to 160. Boo!

    I've had a bit of a rethink today about my weight loss goals. I joined MFP on August 23 and my first goal was to reach 154lbs (SW was 175) by November 23. I'm sitting at 160 so I won't be able to lose 6lbs (99% unlikely anyway, not impossible I suppose!) but I've rethought my goal and I'm making my next goal 147lbs. Hoping to be there by February 8, 2012 which is 3 months from today so watch this space!
  • Wow I thought I'd be kicking butt on this fruit challenge. My friend flo is visiting and I'm in some crazy carb fog today. Anyhow, I love the idea of sharing recipes: This isn't really a "recipe" but it's super easy and pretty healthy!

    Tostadas (Use store bought whole grain shells if you are lazy like I am)
    Layer black beans, quinoa, and grilled bell peppers on top. If you have some extra calories, throw a little sour cream on them. This is sooooo good I want to eat it everyday!!! If you use shells that are lowish in calories, it's a pretty low cal dinner.

    60 min Cardio/Housepoints

    Today:

    2 fruits/ 3 waters
    30 minutes cardio/Housepoints

    Newts = 14 (3 fruit - 11 water) However it would be 4 if you count apple butter as fruit which I think is a stretch

    Exercise didn't work out yesterday. We have a cold front coming in which always gets me out as my dogs love running in the cold.

    Here's a soup recipe since it's that time of year. I LOVE this thin split pea soup...very different from traditional pea soup.

    1 cup split peas
    3 cups water
    2 bay leaves
    ¼ teaspoon paprika
    2 tablespoons olive oil
    1 onion, chopped
    1 clove garlic, sliced
    8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
    1 quart chicken stock
    1 cup kale, chopped and steamed
    ½ teaspoon sea salt

    In a medium sauce pan, bring split peas, water, bay leaves and paprika to a boil

    Reduce and simmer for 1 hour, until peas break apart

    Remove peas from heat, discard bay leaves and place peas in blender

    Puree peas on high speed, until smooth, then set aside

    In a large sauce pan, heat oil and sauté onion over medium low until translucent, 10-15 minutes

    Add garlic and mushrooms and sauté until tender

    Stir pureed peas, stock, kale and salt into onion, mushroom mixture

    Warm and serve
