    For those who are waiting for the DVD to come in the mail - I was able to download just part I for $2.99 on excercisetv.

    Finished the workout and now about to upload the pics I took just before I started.

    First day down... please tell me that I'm not the only one who struggled with the jumping jacks?? lol. Loved the cardio though - will have to work at the abs, it's definitely my weakness!! How did everyone else go?

    so funny? were u wondering like me "when did jumping jacs become so hard!!!lol!" i actually stuggled out the gate with arm circles!!! my arms felt really heavy!

    Good morning! Day 1 level 1 done!! We can do this! So, as expected, this is hard. simple moves but pushes you to the limit! arm circles, jacks, and side lunges killed me! it is best if possible to knock it out 1st thing in the morning, i feel great knowing that its done!

    Oh, the butt kicks! I ran track in high school and those were a part of our drills. Now I can barely get my heels off the ground. What a difference 21 years makes! But, it wasn't terrible. I was surprised at how strong I'd gotten doing other workouts over the past month.

    Ok, I have finished my D1L1 - thank you peeps, but no need to send 911 !! Yet....

    Here are some of my (smarty@ss) comments :

    1) I definitely need 2 sports bras !
    2) I wish there was such a thing as a "belly sports bra" for the jumping parts...... Crazy jiggling going on here !!! As I kid I used to do a million of Jumping Jacks a day VOLUNTARILY..... WTF happened ?!?!?!
    3) The music is insanely annoying - is there a lady moaning somewhere in there ?? It startled me the first time, as I have surrond sound and thought it was someone coming up behind me - but I was home alone ! The second time I finally realized - nah, just some cheesy sound track.
    4) I was able to complete 10 MODIFIED KNEES ON THE FLOOR pushups the first set WooHoo !! And maybe 5 the second time around....
    5) I want to jump in that TV screen and rip Anita and her perfect abs to pieces !! Seriously ?!? Flaunting like that in my face, while I am carrying a bowling ball around in place of a belly ?? And NO that does not incentive me to push harder..... Because murder is all that's on my mind at that point !
    6) It wasnt AS hard as I thought it would be for me.... Let's see if I can wake up tomorrow morning ! Breathing.
    7) Have I mentioned that JM annoys me at times ?? LOVE her and wish I was her - but there are times when I feel silly.....
    8) I HATE any type of lunges..... with a passion.
    9) HAHAHAHAHA she really wanted me to touch my toes at the end ?!?! WHAT TOES !?!?! She was lucky I could grab and hold on to my ankles !
    10) I better come out looking like Anita at the end of 30 days.... IJS.
    11) Now, it would have been awesome if she had gotten someone like me to be in that video, as in a REAL person... Ok, have Natalie (I believe she is the real SkinnyB&^tch) (and no I am NOT bitter) - but have someone who struggles with it like me. Then, they could have done 30 Days straight of taping and we could watch their progress, as if we were doing it together.... for 30 days. Yea, just a delusional thought as my blood is trying to leave my head and go back to where it belongs.
    12) we definitely need WAY MORE stretching than she gives us.... I stretched before too, hopefully it will be less painful on my poor, poor muscles.

    Day 1 - GONE ! Bring on the next 29 !!!

    I changed my profile picture so you can see what I looked like at the end of the workout.

    So glad I have you lovely ladies as a support system - I was ready to break that DVD in 2 for the music, alone......

    Hi all,

    I've just joined up. Never done anything like this before.... hopefully it will give me the motivation and encouragement to stay on track. Never sure where to take the measurements... I took the widest part of my hips/thighs for the hip measurement. Any advise as to what others do?
    When I did my measurements, I went up 6 inch from my knee to do my thigh measurement. I also do that for my calf and upper arm measurement. Just pick a joint (elbow, knee etc) and a certain number of inches. The hardest for me are hips, chest, bust, cause I have a hard time remembering exactly where I took the measurement. I also do my waist right at my belly button.

    The boyfriend and I just finished level 1 just now. I really hope I can get better at push ups, I did HORRIBLY with those. We were both cursing at Jillian the entire time but now that I'm done I feel pretty good! I can't wait for my shredded body!

    What pound weights is everyone using? I go between 2, 5, and 10 depending on the exercise, but should I just stick with one? Also, how are you recording this? I don't want to over or underestimate. I did light/moderate calesthenics but only got 107 (or something like that) calories. The vigorous effort put me over 300. I just want to be as accurate as possible.

    Okay so I woke up this morning saying I'd do it after Daniel went off to work. Daniel went off to work about 10:30 am.

    So here I am piddling around doing this and that. I look at the clock and it's 2 pm already. Good lord I should have gotten off my hiney and done it way before now I think to myself. So I did. I popped in the DVD and immediately I'm thinking "okay let's see how bad it's going to be"

    Well. it wasn't horrible. The jumping jacks weren't all that bad. Butt kicks - well I'm far from kicking my *kitten* with my foot. Lunges and crunches - Those seemed alright. I can feel the burn in my stomach and legs mostly upper thigh area. I suppose that's a good thing. I even did the push up's. Could never actually do girl push up's though only the regular kind.

    I don't like Anita though. Why? Oh I dunno because she reminds me way to much of Sarah (Daniel's ex wife) and goodness knows there's enough drama going on there with her that I don't think necessary to go into. All the same, I plan to look better than that girl. Anita and Sarah! So ha.. and ha to you JM! I got through Day 1 and I survived!

    I see you all are kicking some butt!

    I am using 3Lbs throughout the whole time - and think I will DIE if I increase the weights now.... Maybe later.

    I log it in as 25 mins circuit training - gives me about 240 cals I believe.... i have the Body Fit, and actually need to use it next time to track the exact amout.

    I'm in London so with the time difference it's evening here and I just completed Day one and survived! Feel really good about committing to doing this but reckon my muscles will be sore in the next few days!

    Ok, so I just wanted to say that - curiosity got me, and I did check out pics of my lovely fellow Shredders, and I muts say that some of you look AWESOME already !! I can only imagine how more defined and ripped you will look in 30 Days ! And for me - cant WAIT for my transformation to bring me closer to look like some of you gorgeous ladies !

    And I love it how some of you were brave enough to take pictures in your underwear - that's what I had originally wanted to do - but chickened out.....

    Oh, and am I the only dingbat to take an "after workout" pic ??? :laugh:

    Ok, I will stop obsessing and stalking now.

    Well that was certainly an experience lol!! I was right to be scared!

    I've just had a very long, hot, rubbish day at work, 6 and a half hours in a hot kitchen running round after people and I came home to Jillian Michaels and her 20 minutes of pain. I was already aching when I got home from work and now everything aches, I even have a headache.

    Oh well, at least I've burned 268 calories according to my HRM, which incidentally was beeping madly at me through most of the cardio sections for going over my maximum target heartrate :embarassed:

    Well I'm off to bed, see you all tomorrow!!

    I decided not to use the weights my first time, but tomorrow Im going to use 2 pound ones for the 1st week and 3 pound ones for the other days

    ok, call me crazy, but i just did the workout again:noway: ! There is a reason: running 5k in the early am and i dont want to miss a day and due to football tommorow, my drinking will probably start right after my run, lol, leaving no time for 30DS. So, day 2 down for me! I:wink::wink: did them 6 hours apart and my body feels like jello. We can and will do this! you guys rock!:smooched: :smooched:

    I am using 5 pound dumbells which is real tough for me during side lunges and are lifts :explode:

    You are indeed insane! Yey for your first 5K :D.... I did day 1 today n felt great :) we'll see tomorrow... I use 3lb weights but I plan to purchase 5lbs today :D

    Just finished D1L1!!!! So excited and can't wait for the 30 days to be over. I can honestly say that I've never had sweat pore off me like that. It was GROSSSSSSSSSS :) Guess I did something right! Good luck to everyone and if you need more motivation feel free to message and friend me :)

    I did 30DS d1L1 today and I really liked it.
    I also ran a tough 3 miles and then stretched with some yoga.
    I kicked my butt for sure.
