Well I finished w2d3 today and I'm not to sure that I'm ready for week 3 but I'm going to at least try day 1 and then make that decision I just can't image running for 3 mins straight...

I do notice though that even though its hard for me to run the 90 secs that I am recovering a lot faster then before so like it only takes me 1 min or less instead of feeling like I'm not ready even when the 2 mins are up.....thats got to be a improvement I would think!

W3D1 down - I totally didn't notice it was week 3 yet and I was expecting the week 2 run. When I realized it was week 3 I kind of freaked out because I wasn't mentally prepared for it, but you know what... it wasn't bad at all!! in fact, I ran an extra 3 minutes that I didn't even need to. Hope you all are doing well! :)

W3D3 done! It was MUCH easier than W3D1 even at a faster pace. I'm slightly intimidated by W4 but I'll worry about that on Wed!

    Keep at it everyone!!

You guys are ROCKIN! I'm so proud of all of you!!

I think I'm going to go back and restart with W1. I didn't get to run at all last week and then went hunting over the weekend. I probably walked 10 miles over the weekend though.

You guys are doing great! I can't believe what I am reading here sometimes. I know we were all a little fearful of trying to run.. "What?! I can't run... there is no way" I know these are common thoughts all of us probably had at the very beginning and look at you guys!!

    RUNNERS! KEEP MOVING!! :flowerforyou:

I started Week 4 today. I did great with both three minute runs and the first five minute run but had to walk an extra minute before the second five minutes and stopped for about 20 seconds in the middle to catch my breath. I was a bit off from actually doing the workout but I'm still rather happy with how it went. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be able to follow it properly on Wednesday. I went almost 3 and a quarter miles in 45 minutes!

Everyone is doing so well. It's nice to have you all for motivation!
  • I was thinking about giving week 2 another workout or two but after reading some of the comments, I decided to at least try and push passed my comfort zone and try week 3 tonight. So glad I did! The 3 minute stretches were definitely tough (especially after minute 2) but as someone else said, you're huffing and puffing and wondering if you can get through it, and then all the sudden you're done. It was pretty great. Hope everyone else is having a good week!

I think my knee is mad at me! It doesnt seem to like this program. I'm going to give it a few days to heal and then I'll keep going.

    W3D2 - done!

For the first time I thought it was oh so slightly easier..... did I just say that??!!

I was getting a bit sick of my music playlist today (lots of billy idol).... so put on my sons running playlist.... well amazingly just as I was struggling in my 3 minute leg one of his rap songs came on (we have a long running lame joke about rap music having a silent "c" as in crap music).... but it was so perfect .... it was you can be anything you want to be if you work at it..... just completely motivated me to finish that run.... then next run another rap song about running hard if you want the rewards..... again it just spurred me on.... now I won't be going out and listening to this music for pleasure or anything but I have to say it was very good to run to.... I can't believe I just said that either!!

    Happy running everyone :drinker: :drinker:

Finished W3D1 yesterday; I screwed up and didn't hear the chick tell me to start walking, so I ran an extra minute. It was pretty cool, I eventually checked the time because I thought I had been running awhile and not that I was exhausted. Looking forward to tomorrow!

Congrats to everyone who is chugging along on this journey. I did w3d1 today. The first 3 minute run was like "holy crap". LOL But after that my body seemed to adjust and I ran the last walk and cool down and finished the 5k in a hair over 35 minutes. Good luck to everyone with their efforts.

Hello...I know it's a bit late but I'm starting c25k tomorrow (10/26) for the 2nd time this year. I got through week 6 back in the spring and just kinda stopped one day, but I need to get back into it. The plan I'm doing is slightly different, and I def have a different way of doing it from most people, but it's the same basic outline and being a part of a group seemed to help me a lot before...so if it's cool I'd like to join you all in posting! :)

My knee is still swollen and hurting, but I did 20 minutes on the elliptical last night and it was okay with that. A friend on MFP says she does the C25K on the elliptical - I'm wondering if I should continue on there??? I wouldn't be able to enter a speed though, but do you guys think that would work?

I hope your knee feels better! Maybe you need to rest it for a while. I bought a little brace that keeps your knee cap from moving around so much when you run. I used to pound my left foot harder when I ran. So far this time I'm holding it together.

W4D1 done! If you'd have told me last week that this week I would have thought a quarter mile was "easier" I would have laughed at you. I did want to quit the last lap of my half mile but I pushed through it. I felt blah and sick when I was done, but I did it!! Take that treadmill!! Can't wait for the next one to see if it's easier. I like easier!

I'm on Week 5 of my 5K training plan. I got a little away from it when I did my 5K race a few weeks ago, but now I'm back. I've decided to continue the 5K training, but also mix in Adventure Race training. I've decided to do a 5K obstacle course race. This is one located near me:

Those races look so cool. There was a Spartan Sprint very close to here a few weekends ago and I didn't even know about it. It's on my to do list for next year.

Welcome aboard Regina! The more the merrier! Everyone here is very supportive and understanding. Hope your W1D1 goes well. Don't worry about being late, many people are repeating days, and maybe a couple like me that are just plain starting over, I've missed more than a week of running due to hectic time constraints and now I'm coming down with a bug of some kind.

Are you running outside or inside on a treadmill? There are lots of people here that are doing one or the other, a couple people have the opportunity to do both.

Drink plenty of fluids and have fun! Keep moving!!

Im glad I found this group. Ive been doing C25K for a couple of months now, ran my first 5k in March, and my 2nd one in October. Im stuck at W4, those 5 mins runs are killing me. Im gonna see if TODAY is the DAY I conquer them. Keep it up everyone, and see at the finish line.

Wow! That looks awesome! I may have to look for one of those next year after completing C25K and continuing to lose weight and get in shape. It looks like tons of fun!
    Thanks for sharing!

Have you been to a doctor about your knee? With the swelling and pain, you might want to get it checked before you do any damage.
