    Tuesday:
no exercise, but did 10 minutes of stretching while I was at my son's wrestling match -- I'm trading that for yoga.
My fiber is good, but i'm under on protein -- I try to limit it, though, and I don't want to change it up!!
    128 oz of water

    Wednesday:
35 minutes of cardio plus 10 minutes stretching/yoga. Fiber is good, protein under.
    100 oz of water!!

Got called into work! Hope I am not too late!

I lost 1 lb this week (down to 214). I was over fiber and protein every day (those protein meal bars are great for that!). I did 15 minutes of yoga daily (which I still look very silly doing!) and did at least 30 minutes of cardio every day. I did 45 min. or more 3 times this week.

Again, sorry I'm running behind. I'm still at work!!

WEEK 8: It's All About YOU!!

Once again, we were the top losing team before advantages, and second once advantages were handed out!!!! WAY TO LOSE IT, TEAM!!!!

    This week:

    1. Nutrition challenge: 4 cups of fruit and/or vegetables from the colors of the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, white, and violet) daily.

    2. Fitness challenge: Walk/run as many miles as you can and do as many sit-ups, push-ups, and jumping jacks as you can handle. NOTE: There will be advantages handed out for each category. Should we all focus on one??? (I'd vote for sit-ups/crunches or JJ's)

    3. Post your numbers here (fruit/veg servings, walk/run/elliptical miles, and fitness type with numbers. PM your final numbers to me on Friday, December 23rd by 4:00!! NOTE the day change!!!

GOOD LUCK to all of us!!!!!

    Way to go team!!

If we are going to focus on one of the exercises, I vote for push-ups or crunches. Those can easily be done at home. JJ are hard on my knees, and my ceilings are really low. When we did them before, I would go outside. But we got snow today, and I don't think it's a good idea to do them on ice!

    We can do this!

I have a PM in to MM to see if we need to do all three exercise or just concentrate on one... for now, everyone pick what you want to do and do as many as you can. I'll let you know what MM says about doing all three, but we all have strengths (no pun intended) and some of us can do more of certain exercises (ie, I love crunches, but pkiddy is great at JJ's).

    My Monday:
3.4 miles (elliptial) plus 125 crunches
6 fruits and veggies, including red, green, orange and white!! (strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes, lettuce, broccoli, grapes, orange, carrots, and cauliflower)
    104 oz of water

    What does your rainbow include??

Did 50 pushups! OK, they were modified (against a wall), but that is more than I have ever done!! Also got in 30 crunches (I don't like them!) Forget the JJ! Knees are uncomfortable with the changes in the weather.

I walked 1.5 miles today and think I did fairly well with the rainbow-2 servings of fruit salad (strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, pears and peaches), tomatos (red), lettuce (green) cabbage (purple) and cucumber (green or white I guess!)

I hope everyone had a great day!

OK -- Here's the response from MM regarding the advantages:

Going to give four separate advantages: one for team with highest avg miles, one for sit-ups, one for push-ups, and one for jumping jacks. We're doing team average, since some teams are so small. So, do all of them as a team, but you can break it up per individuals if you like. (I.e. one do miles, one does sit-ups, etc.)

So....... everyone concentrate on the activity you do best, and the totals will be averaged over our four remaining team members. I'm going to concentrate on sit-up/crunches, but I'll try do some of the others as well just to boost the team average if I can!!

ALSO: In case you haven't heard, Jack has asked captains to turn in numbers earlier on Friday than originally posted, so PLEASE TURN IN FINAL NUMBERS BY NOON on Friday!!!

Post here as you go, so I can already have the spreadsheet started!! Thanks!!!

    Step-ups = 4 steps, right? (up up down down?) So.... 4 steps x 600 = 2400; approx 2000 steps/mile = 1.2 miles =)

Tuesday got in plenty of fruits and veggies (broccoli, fruit salad, carrots, salad) did another 50 pushups (my arms are starting to hurt) and walked about 1 mile. It was a busy day, and I was doing a lot of driving. But I did NOT stop at Burger King for lunch, I waited until I could get back to the office to eat my salad!

Wednesday was a challenge because we had a Christmas party at work. But I love my boss-she made sure there was salad (and bought a rasberry-vinagrette dressing for me) and lots of fruit to go with the lasagna and sausage/peppers/onions and of course my favorite Italian Butter cookies. I only had 2 cookies-and I did not bring the leftovers home, which I am normally the one to do because I have kids! I walked about 2 miles (at breaks I would walk around the block as quickly as I could and it's about 1/2 mile around) and did 75 push ups. (3 sets of 25!!) I did my 30 crunches too, but I still hate them.

Today is cleaning and baking day, as is tomorrow, so I know I will be burning lots of calories. The challenge will be not to eat the cookies. I think I will start with the kinds I don't like!

Thursday: Fruits and veggies were good-mixed fruit, corn, broccoli and potato. Did another 75 pushups and 30 crunches and walked about a mile.

Today is Friday-I know I will get in the fruits and veggies-mixed fruit for breakfast, I'll have a salad for lunch and asaragus, broccoli, beets and carrots for dinner. I did 30 crunches and I will get in 75 pushups.

Big news-I have lost 50 pounds! I lost another 3 this week, down to 212. It took almost 7 months, but it's working and I am half way to my goal!

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas! Enjoy your time with family and friends.

Thursday: Got in my fruits and veggies, plus 50 crunches and 20 push-ups. Had a mini-crisis to deal with involving my step-son (he's a youth minister and one of the kids in his youth group was caught shop-lifting on a church outing) so didn't get in my walk.

Friday: will have LOTS of fruits/veggies today since I'm FINALLY on winter break! YAY!!!! I have already done 205 jumping jacks, 40 push-ups and 200 crunches (gotta love JM videos!!!) and plan on a 3.1 mile run and 100 more crunches this afternoon. Depending on when my husband gets home from hunting I will either take a 12-mile bike ride ( equal to 4 more miles) or go to the gym and do 4 miles on the elliptical. Either way, I'll get in 7 miles today!!!

REMEMBER: I need info as early as possible today, so I can get it turned in to Jack by 2:00 Eastern!!!

Well, not gonna make the double-run today, so I changed my total for today to only 4 miles total.... still better than not getting out at all!!! I finally forced myself to eat my "blue", too (fresh blueberry yogurt -- I'm not a big fan of blueberries!!) so I was able to complete my rainbow =)

As a team, we lost over 33 pounds during this challenge!! I am so proud of everyone's hard work!!

Leigh (achampionsheart) made it to ONEderland!!!

This was the first challenge for Marj (pkiddy) as she joined MFP only a few weeks before I roped her onto our team!! Please continue to pray for her and her mom -- mom had a heart attack this week and is having a pacemaker installed today. Marj is in AZ and mom is in NY, making it even more emotionally difficult on her!!

Congrats to each of us who completed the challenge!! We all lost weight and inches, and gained friends and confidence!!!
