    Hi folks,

My weekend was brutal. Hardly any exercise and I feel terrible. Also, todday my kiddo is home and sick. I don't know what I can do to stay active. I'm going to try and clean the house and maybe half hour on the treadmill. This week looks tough!

*Sigh* Some weeks are just like that. Especially when the little ones are sick  and need loving. (Or keep you up all night when they're sick so you have no energy the next day...:frown: ) Hang in there, just stick to the healthy eating and do what you can. :flowerforyou:

Question for anyone.. I am always and I mean always over on protein and way under on carbs.. I was told to go in and change my settings which I will do when I know what the normal is. Anyone have any suggestions or should I just leave them at what they are and continue what I am doing since I am losing?
  • Nitag - I would just continue what you are doing if you are losing! Some say MFP's protein settings are too high, but if you feel full, and all is good, but you are still over just ignore it. I usually always go over mine too!

I KNOW!!!!! I was totally shocked, too. Actually it was since 1-24-09 - but I am so proud! But as I said, the last time I began restricted calories, I lost 7 pounds in a week and gained them ALL back the next week. Fingers crossed. I have to weigh on a "whenever" basis, since I weigh on a particular scale that is at a friend's house, who I see now and then. I know measures the same as my doctor's scale - and her doctor's scale - so it is accurate.......

  • Way to go on all the exercise people! I went to the gym this afternoon, felt so good (stay home on the weekends). Burned 326 calories on the treadmill and then did weight machines.

Thanks CM for the heads up about the elliptical. I still love it but never eat 800 exercise calories anyway. I average 600 - 700 calories of exercise on the other days at the gym.

I am trying to stay away from the scale until Friday. It goes up and down so much, it drives me crazy. :noway:

Well guys... I think I REALLY screwed up today.

I was off to a great start. Hit the gym early, got home and cleaned out the shed even tho it was hailing outside. Once that was done I came inside and started cleaning the house. Mopping the floors, doing the rest of the laundry and cleaning the kitchen. I was almost done and ready to start dinner... just had some misc stuff sitting on top of the fish tank to put away, including a small diaper bag. I grabbed the bag and had to go up the stairs to put it on the changing table which is up about 6 steps on a landing. Well... I went up about 4 steps and leaned to put the bag on one of the shelves, then turned to come back down the stairs. As I went to step down I lost my footing with the foot that was planted on the step and slipped doing a "charlie brown kicking a football" move in the air and landing smack on my back on the stairs. I heard it crack and the impact completely knocked the wind out of me and I immediately started    . The kids were in the living room and came running in asking if I was ok. It was all I could do to gasp and breath saying "NO!! Im NOT, go get dad!" I sat at the bottom of the steps for a couple of minutes trying to catch my breath, but every time i took a deep breath in it hurt like hell. Hubby came down and helped me up... slowlyyyyy. This all happened about an hour ago. I immediately took a motrin, but it feels like someone karate chopped me in the middle of my back below my shoulders.

UGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Im sooooo    ! Me and my clumsy big feet!!
Hubby is going with me to sit in the jacuzzi at the gym for a bit. Ive already got some bruising and have had an ice pack on it. Its gonna be REAL interesting to see if I can even move tomorrow....

OH NO!!! It is so frustrating to get hurt just when you are getting in the swing of things. Maybe you should go to the doctor if you heard a crack. :noway: That's nothing to mess around with.

Um, that sane food brain that I had? You know, the one I was so happy to have discovered? Yeah, that left me completely today. All I did was eat crap. :grumble: I'm not even gonna log my food. I did get my spin class in, thank the Lord, or I'd really be in a world of mess. I have my meals planned out for tomorrow, though, so I can get back on track. Ugh, I feel really ill right now, too much sugar.

Think I'll go drink me some water. Like, a whole gallon. (Oh, no, bad idea, then I won't sleep because I'll have to pee every 1/2 hour all night....what a dilemma!)
  • i had a great eating day and though i did not go to the gym i walked jungle jims the biggest grocery supermart store international for 3 hours so i should of done good there, yeah

Well guys... I think I REALLY screwed up today.

Li4g, If it still hurts badly in the morning, please see a doctor. I have a back injury. Trust me, get it looked at immediately. Like tomorrow. Any time there is an audible "crunch" it is not good.

I'm so sorry. We'll be thinking of you. Let us know tomorrow what happens.:flowerforyou:

Thanks, I will go tomorrow if It still hurts. Ive had low back issues for about 12 years. In fact Ive been VERY careful not to throw it out the past month while working out and also the reason Ive been working my abs every other day. When I fell, my reflexes kicked in and I arched myself so I wouldnt land on my low back. Instead I landed on the upper mid back just below my shoulders and then my butt. The bottom half of me is fine. Even my butt doesnt hurt... boy it did at first!

Anyway.. Im pretty sure the cracking noise was just my back popping (it does all the time), otherwise Ide be at the urgent care right now. We dont have medical insurance so unless I need to go... I wont. I think I just bruised it, possibly pushed a rib out of place.. but it feels more like muscles than anything else. If I cant move tomorrow I'll go see my chiropractor for x-rays. They are much cheaper in his office.. Im pretty sure I just banged the muscles up pretty good. I managed to get my sweatshirt on and off without hurting..so thats a good sign. Of course, I also worked my upper body this morning at the gym.. so its really hard to tell what hurts because of the fall or If Im feeling the weights I did on top of it also...

I went and sat in the jacuzzi at the gym for an hour and let the jets run on it. Then I sat in the hot sauna room for 10 minutes. Im really sleepy now that I got all warm and toasty in there. Gonna go have me some sugar free hot cocoa and go lay in bed to watch a movie. I'll check in in the AM and let ya know how Im doing.

Li4gd, thanks for the encouraging words regarding "wogging", I hope your back feels better today. CM had great advice, see a Doctor if the pain persists. FitforLife I envy you, a spin class..its been six months since I've been in the gym. The best times I've had, have been on a bike or in spin class. Everyone, be careful with your workouts ...we need you healthy. Have a terrific day and workout. Moderation is ok...Zano

Good morning! Ok, I feel motivated today from looking through, of all things, a Mens' Health magazine. They had a lot of ads for weights and machines and such, so I feel back in control today. Yay! Losinit, how ya doing today? CMR, most of the reason I am not logging is I was eating so mindlessly I can't even remember a bunch of what I ate:grumble: , I guess I could guesstimate. Zano, hope you have a good exercise day today.

Ok, time to do some laundry and get the trash out for the garbage man. (Such a glamorous life I lead!) Have a great day, all! :flowerforyou:

Oh, be sure to use the ice packs. They will keep the swelling down and I thought they worked even better than the painkillers they gave me. My son had his out last summer, and it went smoothly. I hope your does too! :flowerforyou:

Thanks guys. I slept pretty good last night. Woke up this morning to my daughter telling me they had a 2 hour late start cuz its snowing. Ughhhhhh.. not again! My back is pretty dang tender but isnt showing a bruise, just a couple little red spots. I took some motrin and gonna go grab the ice pack. I can move fine, its just pretty stiff and sore in a couple spots. I'll see what it feels like after the motrin, coffee and ice pack.:ohwell: I also have a lovely tender spot on my right butt cheek. It only hurts if I touch it a little but its pretty funny cuz it right where my tattoo is.. At least I can still WALK without any pain. I AM going to the gym today... just to slow walk on the treadmill for a bit. I think it will help with keeping me from stiffening up even more. There will be NO Wogging, weights or elliptical for me today!!

Chanty- Oh now THAT sounds fun!!!! I had mine removed when I was 17 and they had to knock me out to get them out. Be sure to have cold soft soft foods on hand for afterwards. Lots of jello and some ice packs. I dont envy you at all today! I'll take a stiff back day over having teeth pulled ANYTIME!

  • Hi everybody! Looks like I'm the newbie this time :glasses: I just started a new diet program and I hope along with it, this website, and this support group I'll be able to lose the 53+ lbs I need to lose! As of right now:

    Starting weight: 199 lbs
    Goal weight: 140 lbs

Tomorrow is when I weigh myself and I've been dieting for one week (even though it feels like 500 years!) Please tell me this gets easier! Anyway, wish me luck and good luck to all of you!

Oh and my mom gave me this web site called www.dwlz.com. This is the neatest thing, you go on here and scroll down until you see a "restaurants" link and click on it. This is a weight watchers site but under this link it has not only the point value's of several hundred fast food and dine in restaurant menu choices (in case you are on weight watchers) but then it gives all the additional info too (calories, sodium, carbs, fiber, etc. in case you are not on weight watchers). This helps me out so much when I'm going out to eat because I can look before hand and tell which foods I should pick. Good luck everyone!

~Li4g - Thanks so much for letting us know you're okay...or better at least.

~chantybear - I had my wisdom teeth out in my 30s. All four at once. General anesthesia. One day recovery. Let us know how you are tomorrow.

~Get_fit - from "Sane Food" brain to "Mindless Eating" in three days!

~ Zano - You are going to have to run that 1.5 mile without Li4g for a few days. Nice to see you!

Welcome! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Good luck on your weigh-in. Yes, it gets MUCH easier, as you learn new things and re-commit every day, and every meal. If you have a bad day, it's okay, just keep the 80% / 20% rule in mind. Do well with your food and exercise 80% of the time. Then eventually you will find it becomes habit, and then 90% of the time, and then you are home free. We all have an occassional bad day or bad meal. Don't let it de-rail your hard work.

I'll message you on your home page with the link to this thread.
