I feel alot better. Once the motrin kicked in I was able to get movin to the gym so I walked off 300 cals at a slow pace. Didnt do anything else but that. I normally stretch afterwards but something told me that this would NOT be a good day to do that so I came home and made lunch, took another motrin and have been just kickin back doing much of nothing.
Hubby checked out my owies and said that im gonna have a nice dark purple bruise on my right butt cheek.... I could already tell that was gonna happen. It doesnt hurt at all unless I touch it and I didnt feel it at all while I was walking so I am thanking my lucky stars that I didnt hurt myself worst. He could tell the upper part of my back looked ok and not bruised or inflamed so thats good news. Whew!
Laci- Welcome!! You'll love it here!! Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow. Yes it does get easier as time goes on. The first couple weeks are the hardest, mainly changing your habits and getting used to new things. You'll be fine if you just stick to it.
Mango- See if you can get the critter to take a nap and get your workout in. I know easier said than done, but you will feel so much better once its accomplished.
Zano- Im gonna be off from wogging this week or at least until my upper back isnt so stiff anymore, then I'll be back at it!! Yesterday before I fell I did 1.76 miles in 30 minutes...not my best time.. but I have a LONG way to go to meet that 15 minute goal. Im game! Just stick with it!!!

LOL, I'd like to 'wog' but have no place to wog at. The walking track I did yesterday KILLED my right foot. I have some cysts on it that come up when it's used a lot (VERY Frustrating when you are TRYING to work out). Anyway, asprin helps but not really great for me to take when af is so close (you don't want to know lOL). Anyway, my road doesn't hurt my foot, so I'll run on my road from now on. It's .6 miles from the end and back, so I guess I COULD run it twice. (that's a scary thought LOL)
Tonight is DDR night  I like DDR night.
I thought I did SOOOOOOOOOOOOOo good today.. logged it in, and was 304 over  So I"ll be doing LOTS of DDR tonight. Is it bad that I tried to put sex under the cardiovascular exercise to see if it would let me take calories away for it? LOL.. yes, I'm that pathetic :blushing:
chanty, I NEED my wisedom teeth pulled. They hurt, but I've never gotten around to it. Let me know how it goes and it might make me feel better about it.
L-4g, I couldn't help but laugh at your description of today. I hope your bruise goes away soon. You are a brave woman to be exercising with that on your backside.
Laci, welcome! GL at weightin tomorrow.
Is anyone else doing the twohundered sit-up challenge? Yesterday was day 2 for me and I'm really liking it. It makes me feel all, I don't know, powerful I guess. Like I'm doing something that will finally get rid of this saggy belly... which I'd LIKE to say came from birthin' 2 babies, but in fact, was there much before that. In fact, I weigh almost 30 pounds LESS than I did when I got pg with my youngest and 40 POUNDS less than when I got pg with my oldest.... wow, I haven't ever thought of that before!0 -
Kelle i gotta ask... what is DDR night?? Im clueless here.
The wog challenge for me is a way to up the ante on my routine. I keep changing what Im doing about every 2 weeks and that seems to help me with not getting bored. Oh.. and no its not pathetic that you tried to see how many cals are burned during . I did the same the first week I was here and much to my disappointment it wasnt listed. I heard the average was about 250 cals for 40 minutes but I would guess it would depend on how frisky things were.. LOL Sorry if thats tmi for anyone!! If you have an HRM maybe you could wear it to get an accurate count??...:bigsmile:0 -

CM- Oh I feel fine except for my backs of my mouths being tender, but no pain since the drugs! Yeah I had IV anesthesia, with lots of freezing. I am laying in bed all day today with my bf taking awesome care of me...
Losingit - No not fun at all! I was about to have some luke warm soup, cause all I had today was a bit of frozen yogurt, but my bottom right started bleeding lots again, so I decided not to. No I am just biting on gauze until I can have some more frozen yogurt! They knocked me out too, they had to just to justify the price:grumble: ...they were soooo nice though, and I felt like I was taken good care of! He is on ratemd.com, and has nothing but 5 star reviews so it makes me feel better about him doing it! I was going to buy some pudding, but I do not know if I would want to eat it I haven't had the crappy cup kind in years. Well I get to delay writing my math mid-term that everyone else has to write, so that is the plus side..hah!
GetFit: Yes I have been using frozen peas Yay pain killers..:noway: ! Yes it has gone really smoothly, other than bleeding, but that is normal.
Thanks for all your gal's (I was going to say guys, but no men:laugh: ) consideration, your all the best!0 -

The bleeding should be better after today. The first day is the worst for bleeding, the next couple for the pain and then you're on the upswing! You'll be glad you got it over with while you're young. It gets more difficult the older you get.
Rest well! Oh, and the HR thing? That would for SURE kill the mood for me, especially with the chest strap! :laugh:0 -
Oh yeah, almost forgot to thank everyone! Now that I have folks to be accountable to, it made it MUCH easier to get back on track today, so muchas gracias!!! :flowerforyou:0

Dance Dance Revolution is a game for the Wii. It has a little pad and you are 'supposed' to dance to music. I just turn backwards and run in place. Tonight I beat my old record and burned 507 in less than 25 minutes
BTW, I have worn a heart monitor while *ahem* before :blushing: There was a time a few years ago where I kept passing out. They thought it was my heart and I had to wear a heart monitor... well, Dh got frisky and yeah..... LOL.0 -

So, I guess the chest strap DOESN'T kill the mood! (What was I thinking? Men don't care, it's still sex!) :laugh:0 -

Actually it was one of those with the probes that are stuck under your neck, your breast and the middle of your chest (or whereever they are stuck LOL). There were 2 or 3 wires. I felt like Frankenstein's monster LOL. Nope, didn't bother him a bit.. LOL. Embarrassed me later though.0 -
 Men are just happy they get some I guess I think the chest strap would still be a little akward myself:laugh:0

ROFL you guys are too funny. I may not have been able to work my abs today at the gym but Im getting a good workout just giggling away here reading your posts.
As for the HRM.. dont need a chest strap if you use the one thats like a watch. I have a friend who has both and she tried them both at the same time and got the same results. I wasnt thinking of the chest strap kind when I suggested it... that is too funny!
Get_fit- How is your black and blue toe?? Feeling better??
Chanty- Glad you had a good experience getting them out. Make some jello and pudding from a box. Frozen yogurt is a great thing!!
Yoooohoooo LuLu.. where are you hiding??
I found another bruise from my ski trip down the stairs. I was thinkin "Wow!! I really got the back of my arms yesterday when I worked out" but when hubby was rubbin my shoulders he said..."you got a nice little bruise on the back of your arm too" Of course, my arms are too fat for me to see it but I musta whacked it on the banister when I slipped. I drank a TON of water today hoping that would help and it seems to be.
OH! I forgot to tell ya.... someone broke into my locker at the gym last night. We went last night to the jacuzzi and I had locked my water bottle, shampoo, mp3 player and gym bag in there thinking, I'll get it tomorrow morning when I come back to walk. I had it locked up good and also had another lock that I had forgotten the combo too in there. Well this morning, when I went back in.. I went to get my mp3 player and the other lock was on it. I thought I musta been out of it last night and just used the wrong lock but I couldnt remember the combo so I had to get the gym staff to use bolt cutters on it so I could get in my locker.
Well, I got in there and everything was there... cept I couldnt find my other lock. I dug around and figured 'oh well' cuz nothing was missing. I grabbed my mp3 player and went to workout. I was telling my workout buddy what happened and was laughing about it. Then I realized... hey I dont have my water bottle. Well... she thought I was just being forgetful and probably took it home last night... but when we went to leave I went back into the locker room to grab my stuff and she discovered that her lock was missing off her locker (she hadnt been in there yet that morning).
We went and talked to the manager to make sure that they hadnt clipped locks and they said they hadnt and even if they were going to, they would leave a note and give a weeks notice before opening someones locker. Even if they did open it, they bag up the contents and keep it at the counter. So... I got VERY lucky that whoever got into my locker didnt find my MP3 player and only stole my EMPTY Dasani water bottle with no lid.... hahaha!! What the point of that was is beyond me (unless they were recyling it for me... )
I bought a new lock today and its a BIG one.. so there will be no getting into my locker the easy way should I lose the key. I never leave anything valuable in there anyway... but last night will definitely be the last time. Just a word to the wise... there are alot of desperate people out there right now.0 -
l4g, That is SO scary!0

l4g, That is SO scary!
well, they wont be gettin in again and the staff has been alerted so they said they would be sending more staff people through the locker rooms especially late at night before they close.
Its all good. If my water bottle was so important for them to take.. they can have it. Ive been recycling it myself for about 2 weeks.  :laugh:0 -

That is what I do to mine at school. I figure all the walks to the teacher's lounge to get water add up LOL0 -
Well good grief people!!! I'm gone for less than 48 hours and everybody is falling apart! We've got broke toes and bruised buttocks and a sick child (mmmmhhhmmmm some excuse for not exercising), everyone's all concerned about copulation calories and such, and poor Chanty's smart teeth are all gone - and just what does that say about the rest of her teeth exactly???
I must say though, ya'll were cracking me up! and that wogging girl you came up with LI4G - well, that is precisely why I don't jog. I ran track in high school and my brother one time told me that all his buddies were taking bets on whether or not I would actually black my own eye!!!:noway: Thank goodness bras (and running shoes) have come a looooong way since then!
So, how much does this stink... I had gone in for my first year post-hysterectomy exam with my gyn and they ran blood work - got it back and all was okay, except my cholesterol was 266 (should be less than 200) and my triglycerides were 389!!!!!!!!!!!Should be less than 150! I have NEVER had cholesterol issues - I was super bummed. Even last year my numbers were fine. My doc said it's not uncommon for cholesterol to go up after a complete hysterectomy - but I'd never heard of that??:frown: So now I have to make an appt with my primary care physician - cuz God forbid any ONE doctor can ever handle anything to determine treatment.... I checked my food diary all the way back to my start date and my avg. cholesterol numbers are good (only twice over 100 - but usually 70 or less) and did some research which indicates is should be under 200 so I'm good there, I eat my veggies, but sometime skimp on the fruit, I eat low fat, and in general stay within all my recommended ranges on MFP... Any suggestions from you guys?? I really don't like oatmeal:ohwell: .
Oh, btw - I got some work!!! Doing some transcribing for a court reporter - so yipeeeee - I'll be working from home! Love that!!!
Okay, wrote a book - It's 12:20 a.m. my time, so I'm off to beddy bye:yawn: I'll talk to you chickadees and roosters too, tomorrow!

I've been waiting for the perfect opportunity to use this emoticon. I have tears in my eyes from laughing.
We missed you. And congrats on the job!0 -
Hi guys!!!
I still have a lot of reading to catch up on! I tried yesterday but this evil flu gave me a miagrane so I didn't manage. Feeling better today though still bunged up and boogery  but on the mend at last WOOHOO! Getting my new treadmill delivered today too so that should give me a mucho needed kick up the derrier.
How is everyone getting on? Anything exciting going on?
:flowerforyou: :drinker:0 -
I am joining, too. I'd be happy to reach to 130lbs mark in the next 10days and to work on a better attitude. This means, the challenge is to STAY WITHIN MY CALS! :grumble: In the meanwhile, I'll try come up with a list of things I want to achieve from that point on.0

Lulubar and li4g, thanks for worrying about my poor toe. It is still purple and swollen, but doesn't hurt as much and I've been able to workout so I don't really care. It is nowhere NEAR sandals weather around here, so nobody else has to see my gross toe.
Vonzo, a new treadmill! How cool! That will make it hard NOT to exercise, very cool!
Oh yeah, Chanty and Li4g, how are you 2 today? I think today would be the "sorest" day for both of you. After today, both your owies should start to be better. Ibuprofen and ice. (One on the face, one on the tuchas. )
Zano, did you get to exercise? Are you sore? (You can join the other 2 with their icepacks! )
CMR, I bet you just went to bed, it's 5:30 in the morning, ha ha.
Lulubar, have fun with the job and you can get those numbers down. You will just need to be vigilant. My husband dropped from an overall cholesterol of 315 to 145 in 6 weeks with 1/2 a pill a day, exercise and diet. You can do it!
Ok, everyone have a great day and I'll check in later!0 -

Did they run a glucose fasting or hemoglobin A1c or GFR? Triglycerides usually mean high sugar.
What causes high triglycerides?
High triglycerides can be caused by certain
medical conditions (such as diabetes),
some medications, or it can simply run
in your family. But the kind of daily
choices you make also affects your
triglycerides. If any of the following are
true for you, you may be at greater risk
of having high triglycerides:
• being overweight or obese
• lack of exercise
• taking in too many calories, especially
from alcohol, fat, and foods high in sugar
• smoking
What can you do to lower
your triglycerides?
• If you are overweight, try to lose weight.
Losing as little as 10 pounds can help.
• Exercise regularly. Start with 10 minutes
of daily activity, such as walking, bicycling,
or swimming. Work up to at least 30
minutes of exercise on most days.
• Limit alcohol to 2 drinks a week.
• If your triglycerides are over 500,
avoid alcohol.
• Limit sugars, including fat-free baked
goods. Limit fruit juice to 4-8 oz. per day.
• If you have diabetes, keep your blood
sugars under good control.
• Eat a low-fat, high-fiber diet. Whole
grain foods, fruits, and vegetables
provide fiber. Use small amounts of
monounsaturated fats such as olive or
canola oil, avocado, and nuts.
• Eat fish at least twice a week. Salmon,
mackerel, herring, trout, water-packed
albacore tuna, and water-packed sardines
are good choices. Fish provides omega-3
fatty acids, which may lower triglycerides.
• When triglyceride levels are very high,
dietary supplements providing omega-
3 DHA and EPA fatty acids may lower
them. Talk with your doctor about supplements
that may help you.
• If you smoke, quitting is one of the
best choices you can make to improve
your health.0 -

Ok, everyone have a great day and I'll check in later!
And despite popular belief, Cheerios does not help your cholesterol (they paid for the study). Lulu-the same thing happened to my mom, sister, and mother-in-law when they all went through that (my sister had a hysterectomy at 31 and my mom and mother in law went through their "change"). Although I don't think any of them are doing anything about it......(my mother in law is eating better now).
I have been gone for so long and so many injuries!!! I hope everyone is ok!! I've been fighting my leg-it feels like shin splints but it is definitely muscle pains, so have been having to do low impact workouts. I was bummed at first but that low impact stuff is kicking my @ss!!!
CM-LOVE the new pic!
GETFIT-I hope your toe feels better, those injuries suck! :explode:0 -
