    Welcome to all newcomers!

Jaylner- Welcome! I remember watching a show about sexual situations and there was one of a man who had been circumcised and as an adult he learned that due to his lack of foreskin he had lost sensitivity and intimacy was awful and went on to inventing a device to stretch the skin out. I can't say it's true, but something you can look up.
Hope you both compromise and decide what is best for your baby, good luck.

I saw that show with my husband. It was very interesting. I'm going to research it more because my husband is so passionate about it. Thanks for your help.

Better_Balance: I feel that immunizations are necessary, and from what I've read, most feel they are...rather its the timing of the immunizations that they have found correlations to autism. The common practice of giving numerous immunizations at one time is what is being questioned. I plan to time the immunizations so that with each visit to doctor baby isn't getting more than 2. I believe that if it won't harm the baby to space the immunizations, then I am going take these latest findings seriously. And yes thank you! Feeling awesome!

The correlation between Immunizations and Autism have been completely de-bunked. The original study that caused all the uproar was BAD SCIENCE and proven to be FRAUDULENT. As the Fad of not immunizing children grows, so does the risk of having some major outbreaks. Typically in a mostly immunized society, those few that are not immunized are protected by the "Heard Immunization", but the greater the percentage of un-immunized the greater the chance for an outbreak. Just waiting for the day a class of first graders all end up with Polio - what a sad day that will be :(

Good morning ladies, how is it Monday again!? lol
Welcome to all the new ladies! Man this board is getting big! It's so hard to keep up! Lol

Babeed - your nursery looks fantastic! Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Rosanna - So glad your appointment went well, sounds like baby is healthy & happy

Ashley - I can't wait to see your pics! Sounds like you had a busy weekend!

Nichole - hope your last week of work goes smoothly and that Hannah comes right on time so you have as much of those 12 weeks as possible to spend with her!

AFM - my weekend was busy as usual and just FLEW by...seriously I literally can't believe it's already Monday. I taught myself how to crochet this weekend and made a giraffe for Mason...it's pretty cute but man it did a number on my already sore hands - whoops. My next project is going to be booties and a hat. Saturday we ran around and did errands most of the day - had to brave West Edmonton Mall but we had a plan and went right when it opened so it actually wasn't that bad. Got some sweet bath bombs and shea butter massage bar from Lush, then we had $40 coupons for Home Outfitters so we bought stuff there, then had to stop at Michaels, and some other places...got home and I was exhausted. I had a nice long nap and then my husband went out with some friends and I spent the night crocheting and watching Christmas movies ;) lol . I finished the giraffe Sunday morning and then we went for Brunch with my husbands parents and then went shopping for glider chairs for the nursery. Still not sure what to get...our nursery is so small so we have to make sure the chair will fit. I'm thinking we'll keep looking and hopefully hit up some good deals after Christmas  Then all the sudden it was Sunday night and me and my husband just vegged for awhile and then I had a really nice bath and then my hubby and I had some alone time  I know I know probably WAY TMI :blushing:  but I was just wondering how all you ladies are doing with your sex lives? (sorry if that offends anyone, I'm pretty open to talking about these things but I'm sure others might not be! lol sorry!)
Anyway, it was really nice - I haven't felt much in the mood the last couple of months and my husband has been scared of hurting me lol...but we had a really nice evening and a good talk after wards. The only thing that is SO weird for me (and probably the most obvious thing) is my growing belly - it can definitely make things challenging lol! But it's interesting finding ways to work around it lol - also it can be hard to feel sexy at ALL right now but my husband really helps with that so it's all good. I think it's still really important for us to focus on our relationship and reconnecting with each other because the focus has just been so much on getting ready for the baby.

Anyways...I'll be 30 weeks this Thursday and I'm feeling pretty good. I'm just having major issues with my hands. My Dr. did tell me I do have carpel tunnel - my hands are just constantly aching. My husband gave me a really nice hand massage last night before bed with this peppermint cream from Lush that has natural painkilling properties in it apparently? Anyway it helped a bit. But still waking up constantly tossing and turning because my hands are falling asleep :grumble: it's a little bit frustrating!
Oh! Also for the first time this weekend I felt Mason hiccup! At first I thought he had some pretty good rhythm - constantly kicking almost to a beat lol but then I figured out it was hiccups. He did this twice this weekend. Pretty cool  he's also just still really active, constantly moving, kicking, turning, stretching etc etc. But I'm glad because feeling him move makes me feel at ease and calms me - I just feel like it means he's doing well

I have a short week this week THANK GOODNESS! lol I'm off on Friday starting my Christmas vacation and don't come back to work until Dec 27th whew! So excited about this!
I have my Rhogan injection tomorrow at the hospital for my A neg blood type and then Friday is the 3D Ultrasound! YES! I'm so excited! I can't wait to see Mason...seriously this week is going to be tough to get through because I just can't WAIT until Friday!

Anyway sorry didn't mean to go so long! Hope everyone has a great day!

    Oh and congratulations to khrys1!

Thank you for your opinion. I didn't take it as "nasty" at all. I'm more than willing to listen to counter arguments. I guess these are my reasons:
I have a problem with my baby being different than all the other boys, since the majority of baby boys born are circumcised. Also, I don't want him to have to have it done later in life, like I've read about happening due to infections, because I think it will be worse for him. Better to get it out of the way, sort of thing. Lastly, I don't like the look of it. I know that seems weird and maybe just rude (since God made it that way), but I'm just used to seeing it cirumcised and I like it that way. My husband thinks I have a hangup about it since I was previoulsly engaged to a man who wasn't circumsiced and he was so abusive and mean, that now I have an issue with penises that look like his. I don't know. Maybe that's true, but I can't help feeling "grossed out" when I see one. It also doesn't help that I have "no choice" in the matter because my husband is so adamant about it.
I guess it's just something I'm going to have to get over, but I honestly don't know how. :frown:
    It makes me sad.
Thank you again for your comment.

i have to say i really feel for you because that is a hard situation to be in. you want more than anything to be on the same page...but its just not working out that way. has he listened to your reasons? and i am sure you have had many talks with him...but just to let him know that like him, you also feel very strongly about it and maybe the two of you can talk to the dr. about it and see if there is some sort of middle ground??? that might sound insane...but its worth a shot. dont give up on it lady...if it is something you feel strongly about...your voice should definitely be heard too:flowerforyou:

With all this penis talk I hope we have a girl! Im still up in the air about it really.

Trying to read and catch up a bit, I usually dont log on here on the weekends

Hubby and I went to my bosse 80s christmas party it was fun. Then we had our kids party here at work yesterday so we were doing that most of the day. Seriously my daughter is so active compared to other 2-3 yearolds shes nuts! Santa came in with a police escort and she ran right up to the car then when santa came out she was right up at the front literally standing right in frony of him it was pretty funny. Got in one work out yesterday a 5kms run in alot of snow... Im running pretty slow anyways just have to be really carefull of ice. My profile pic is what it looks like here in sunny Alberta. It was pretty warm just alot of snow. Im also experienceing some pain in my inner thigh right close to the nether regions, feel like ive been kicked in the vajaja. Sleeping was not fun last night. I have my 3rd ultrasound tomorrow to try to get a profile shot of this baby. Im looking forward to seeing it move around as Im not feeling much at 20 weeks, and I keep having nightmares that something is wrong. So that will be a relief

    ok...i give up!

lol...no worries. I figured it out. Thanks for your input. I'm going to talk to my doctor, for sure, about this. Maybe he can calm my fears or explain things to be that will put my mind at ease. My husband is a very kind, loving man, but this one subject gets us both so upset because we both feel so strongly about it. I think he's jerk and he thinks I'm being stupid. **sigh** We'll figure something out. Maybe we'll have a girl!

Rayna- I've been curious about how people are doing in this area myself!! Hubby and I have always been very active, but here in the last few weeks it's gotten very difficult with my tummy!! Everything seems so uncomfortable?? Needless, to say that I'm right there with you as far as NOT AT ALL feeling attractive!!

We were watching "The Back Up Plan" with JLO the other day and there is a bedroom seen where she's wearing some cute lingure and I just burst into tears!! I told him that's not at ALL WHAT women feel like especially when your as BIG as she was!! I was heartbroken and just flat out disgusted...don't ask...This new "insecurity" that I have is not appealing or cute. I have never in my life felt this so this is completely new and I'm feeling extremely vunerable.

Hubby's been extremely supportive and is constantly re assuring that pregnant woman are beautiful. He's even purchased me a few shirts that he thought would perk my mood. The dramatic hair change- his idea. I love it don't get me wrong, but, he said maybe what I needed was a change? It has helped- to an extent. The rest is up to me.

Anyone else?? Suggestions? Comments?? You can inbox me if you like!! :ohwell:

Hello Everyone! I am 9wks pregnant and a friend of mine just referred me to this group. I have been absolutely overwhelmed and frustrated with how tired and hungry I am all the time! Before I became pregnant, I lost 23lbs and have another 40 to go. I'm currently 10lbs above the top of a "healthy" weight range at 164lbs and a BMI of 26.5.
Does anyone have any helpful suggestions for me? I've been struggling with knowing how much I really should be eating each day simply because my calories were set at 1200per day and I know that would not be healthy for me to continue. For me to maintain my current weight, calories would be 1860cal. Is that what I should be eating? I'm very confused, so any suggestions or friend requests to keep me on track would be really really helpful.
HELP! I'm really trying to stay healthy and get back on track after I have this precious little one.
    Thank you so much!
    Sincerely,
    Ruthy

    Welcome, Ruthy!
I would talk to your doctor about it, for sure, but I'm not far from you in weight and BMI. My doctor told me to eat about 1500 calories a day in the first trimester and that the baby would take what it needed from me. He said that I don't need to add anything to my diet at this time, but not to starve myself. The I'M STARVING feeling left me at week 9 and then I couldn't stand the thought of food. I had to force myself to eat. I ate 1500 as a base and then if I exercised, I ate those calories back. Talk to your doctor and do what feels best for you. I hope this helps!

I have heard some preggos say their sex drive (hope i don't get edited! ) increases like crazy but that has not happened to me. I'm not totally repulsed by the idea or anything, but no increase in that department. We're probably almost as active as we were before; probably a little less. I too feel awkward sometimes but find (maybe TMI but oh well) laying on my side with him behind me is good. And we stay under the blankets. :blushing: Or him behind me but I have to prop up on my knees so I'm giving the belly room. I can't remember the last time we were missionary. I can't imagine seeing my big belly not to mention laying flat on my back typically results in uncomfortable pressure Oh, the shower is probably my favorite right now - standing with him behind. Again, sorry ladies if TMI, but I know a lot of us are wondering what is normal in this realm, so I'll put it all out there. Whatevs.

Denise- Luv the nursery, it's so cute. Hope your pain goes away soon.

    Welcome-Skinnyruth,OnetxJewel, & EngiAli...

    Congrats to Kryhs!!

Ashley-How cool, your basement is finally coming to an end. My hubby is a neat freak too. He always wants to throw everything away. Then when he can't find something it's my fault.

BMfrazie-take it easy, prayers & thoughts for you to continue being ok.

Rosanna-great to hear you are well informed now, and will probably have a good outcome on your decision.

    Jessica-have fun on your vacation!

Nichole-Prayers for you & Hannah, best wishes & hope she comes soon.

Jaylner-You're welcome! I am glad we all share our thoughts & opinions, and somehow something is said that we can always look up. Best wishes on your decision.

Rayna-Have a great long vacation, may I say I'm jealous. It's cute when the little ones get the hiccups right! Wish i had a camera in the belly where I could see whats going on all the time.

    AFM:
I saw twilight, all by myself, my kiddo was playing a guitar event at this shopping center with his class, & I didn't go because of timing and the teacher had this all unorganized. lol Well I didn't want him to see the movie too, so it worked out.

We toured one of the Hospitals, and let me tell you, it's great. They have free photography, mommy massage, afternoon tea & a special meal fro Dad & Mom. Although, the place is fairly new & there were no patients really. Not like other hospitals where it's insane with all the visitors. So i don't know if that is good or bad, and I also don't know if the insurance I have is taken there yet.

Last night we walked for 15 mins, and it was too cold.

I think I had BH contractions last night, they lasted an hour and feel somewhat like cramps just a little more painful. I timed the contractions and got 4 within the hour, good thing baby was moving otherwise I would have freaked out & gone to the ER. I didn't have any with Jason that I could remember, but I had to pull my WTE book and re-read on it. Yes, these weeks are when the BH are practicing. Yay right?  needless to say I didn't sleep well, and hoping I don't get anymore tonight.

As for the nooky time: When I was pregnant with my first, (hanly panky, nooky or sexy time) was all i wanted, and with this pregnancy I can go without for days then there will be one day where I am more into it than my hubby. Rayna as you said it's really hard to feel sexy right now. I feel pretty, but def not sexy. lol

Well that has not happened to me, no increase, i think is less. We aren't active as we were before; and I feel awkward sometimes because my husband have this feeling that his going to hurt the baby or something like that ,so he don't want go to far lol.

Ashley - Glad your 2nd shower went well and your pics. Good luck on finding the rest of what you need for baby.

Nkster - Good Luck...your next! Hope things go great for you!

Rayna - sounds like a good weekend! I love shopping, and lately I am doing way to much of it!! Time to chill out in the shopping department for a while. LOL I bet you will find some good sales after X-mas and maybe even New Years sales.

Brenda - Yep those are BH, I've been having quite a few too. Actually had a few painful contractions 4 w/in 25 minutes, freaked me out a little, but they stopped and I took it easy this weekend so no biggie I guess.

Rosanna - Your getting close!!! Hopefully things are calming down for you a little bit, try to rest and relax and enjoy these next couple weeks if you can!! :)

Babeed - Your nursery looks great!! I plan on doing a mural w/ babies name above the crib too, but I guess picking a name would really help. LOL! It looks great though good job!

Welcome to the new prego ladies!!!!

Bmfrazie - Glad your released to light duty. Try not to over do it!! Good luck with things!

jchecca - Enjoy your short week!!! Have fun in FL! I would really love to be somewhere warm....woke up to snow this morning and it's FREEZING!

Sorry if I missed anyone, this is a super busy week. My son is on X-mas break next week and I have no daycare, so taking a couple days off I think. Gotta get tons done this week just to make the time off ok with my boss.

AFM: Baby is SUPER low, lots of pressure and I feel like she could fall out. Notice this a lot more after walking and if I stand for a long time. Doctor appt. tomorrow, I'm sure everything is fine, but looking forward to hearing baby's HB and talking to doctor again about the kidney issue. Wish me luck, still stressing out about it!

Pretty low key, boring weekend for me, Sat. cleaned house for a few hours, went for a walk, and just pretty much layed around w/ my feet up watching TV and reading my baby name book. I've went through every list in my 100,001 names and we still can't agree. This is starting to irritate me. Sunday, I finished wrapping the last presents hubby picked up, visited my mom, went grocery shopping and that's about it. Did drink a gallon of water on Sat. and almost a gallon yesterday. Trying to flush out my system and get rid of some swelling. It's not too bad, but my face is swollen for some reason.

Last night was a little stressful, my dad had a 7000lb trailor land on his finger and kinda grose but blew out the sides of his finger, after passing out 4 times, and losing a ton of blood, going in and out of shock they realized it cut an artery, so after being sent to a bigger hospital with the possibility of being transferred to another, it was a stressful few hours. They were able to stich up the artery and basically stop the bleeding, and he will have to follow up in two days to be sure it's ok. Glad it wasn't any worse, but it was pretty scarey!

Hope everyone is having a great Monday so far. I hope this week flys by!!!

Hi All! Just reading through all of your posts. Congrats to you all! What a wonderful life experience!

I was a member on MFP before I became pregnant, but I haven't tracked since I found out. I also stopped exercising for the most part. I'm not sure how much I've gained but I'm in my 18th week. I would like to start tracking to make sure I'm getting enough vitamins, calcium, etc, in addition to not over eating. I would like to weigh myself tomorrow morning and then beging tracking as much as I can (even if only a couple days a week). Obviously I don't want to LOSE weight, but I just want to be aware of how much I am eating. So, my question is, how should I set up my calorie counter? To maintain for the rest of the pregnancy?

I am about 5'4 and around 140 pounds. I think I've gained between 6-10 so far. I was about 10 pounds too much when I found out I was pregnant, so normally I would be around 125-130. Any advise would be appreciated.

Thank you all! And god bless! I am sure I will be comiing to this board to read all about your experiences and post some of my own! :)

Thank you all for the nursery comments! I have to agree with Heather & her hubby- sometimes it's the brightest room in the house :smooched:

As far as a response to the other topic. I can say mind increased dramatically over the 1st trimester then fizzled into the 2nd trimester. But with this growing belly things are just a little off. Going to try the shower thing- hadn' thought of that one....anyone tried lying on their back with your legs over his shoulder? It works sometimes......

I'm starting my vacation (to next year) from tomorrow. With all the time in the world now, I can get back to workout routine:

    - Walk (5 days at least), 30 - 60 min
    - Workout DVD 3 times a week

Hopefully I'll get my free stationary bike soon.

I am just a cranker-ella tonight. I tried posting last night, but something happened to the neighbor's internet that took ours out as well...and I had a big post with messages for people and everything...argh.

So, my goals for the week are to do at least 10 glasses of water a day, 5 fruits/veg a day, and get back to my regular outside track workout every day this week. I am adding in tricep work as my arms are gross.

Well, even after chocolate pudding pie topped with peanut butter whipped cream for dessert I am still a grump, so I am going off to bed!
Hope you all had a better day that this green meanie ;)

Misti- Did your lil one not move too much after, like today I haven't really felt much movement, just sporadic. It's freaking me out. I feel your pain with those BH's, they drove me nuts. Hope they don;t keep me up this night.

Sorry to hear your Dad's smashed finger, glad it was just a finger and nothing worse. TG, but I bet it was nerve wrecking.

Take it easy, enjoy your days off with your son, I bet he'll appreciate that quality time.

It's been raining in Vegas, so no walking the next days, so I plan on doing some PNyoga 2-3x this week.

Good morning ladies! Just a quick check in before I get to work today.

I ran last night for the first time in weeks and it felt good but it is getting harder. I am SLOW and my heart rate seems to get high quicker so I did lower speed and shorter intervals. My lower back was killing last night and my inner hip is today in addition to my back although to a lesser degree. I am thinking running may be getting phased out soon. It just hurts my body too much at this point. Not sure if I'll get my workout in tonight as I need to get the last of my presents and finish decorating the tree. I cooked last and night and will again tonight so I'm doing good on that front.

I'll check in later. Have a great day!

    Morning ladies,

I had my first blown panic attack last night and I'm grateful that my hubby WAS NOT home to witness my meltdown. After my yoga I decided to soak for a while when I caught a glimpse of something pinkish shiny in the mirror. It's next to my belly button- YEAP, I got my first stretch mark!!

I know that there is nothing that can be done to prevent them, and that they come with the territory but since I hadn't gotten any I was kinda hopin that I wouldn't? LOL....

What are you ladies doing to minimize/prevent them?

Babeed - yeah the stretch marks... Mine are getting more and worse. Well, nothing we can do about those, it's from inside. Don't bother get those cream which claim reducing it, it won't. I only lotion my belly for preventing itchy skinny due to the cold dry weather.

Ashley! Your picture from your maternity shoot is GORGEOUS! You look absolutely stunning! As for the running thing, yeah I can't imagine that feels very good at this point, I know when I tried to go running a few times around 15-18 weeks I was feeling pain so I just switched to lower impact type exercises.

babeed - stretch marks...they are tricky aren't they? AND quite upsetting :grumble: I haven't gotten any on my stomach at all (FINGERS CROSSED) but I have gotten them on my boobs  when I saw the first one I had a meltdown too :blushing: seriously, I'm not so happy about having a ring of stretch marks around my nipples :frown: not fun...but like you said comes with the territory and I really think it's genetic - but I still use Bio Oil and a shea butter bar everyday just in case it is helping in any amount lol...it can't hurt to moisturize and make sure your skin isn't tight and itchy

AFM - last night was a TOTAL wash...I didn't do ANYTHING :blushing: I was so tired when I got home and my hands had been bugging me all day so I totally just vegged on the couch and watched E! tv until 9PM and then went up to bed lol...I really wish I had gotten something accomplished. Oh and I might have had 2 cupcakes from the 4 I received as a Christmas gift from someone at my office...whoopsies... Tonight will be a different story. I am going to do my Fit Mom DVD, start on the endless pile of laundry we have accumulated, clean my main floor and have a bath...those are my goals for tonight lol...hopefully I can get my butt in gear!
I have my Rhogan Injection this morning at 10:30 - supposedly it's a big shot in your butt...so I'm not really looking forward to it lol. Has anyone else had to get this shot? It's because I'm A negative and my husband is O positive and I guess that can cause your body to produce antibodies that can affect your future pregnancies. I tested negative for antibodies but I have to get the shot anyways just in case. Better safe than sorry I guess
3 more days until the 3D ultrasound! Seriously can't WAIT!

Anyway back to work, happy Tuesday all :flowerforyou:

I don't know why but they are extremly upsetting!! How the heck am I suppose to wear a 2 piece with stretch marks?? BLAH

Atomdraco- I haven't purchased any oils/lotions to counter react the stretch markts but I do have to agree with Rayna. It may not hurt to "extra" lotion up just to keep the dry itchy skin at bay....Meanwhile, I'm gonna pray that I don't get any more...

    Hey a girl can hope!!
