Susan - Violet is so cute! I love the picture of her in the flowers!!!!!!!!

Kathy - i think the way you are losing is real healthy! I'm hoping to end up at 115 and sit between there and 120. That would make me pretty happy! I lost a pound last week - so i'm t 121 now - 6 more to go. My goal is to lose 3 in April.

dkell! AWESOME! 3 pounds! congratulations! I so think you can make your goal of 10 pounds by your daughters wedding! It will be easier once the weather is better!

OMG Becky - a 20 yr old cat?!?!?! That's OLD!!!!! I lost my Callie kitty this past winter - she was 19, but had lived most of her life outside and had many many adventures. Once a bird of prey picked her up and dropped her! Then she had a stroke once and my little dashschund would walk next to her to keep her from just walking in circles. So amazing and precious.

I worked out at the gym today - i still have around 350 calories left for today - i'll probly use about 200 and call it good! Have a great night all! elli

Congrats, dkell. I know you will look great for the wedding.

Kathy, I too am having a lot of problems on the weekends. A lot of it is due to my son's girlfriend visiting with all her goodies. This time she made brownies with peanut butter chips in them.

elli..it is so cute when our animals help each other out. My cat never goes out. She is deaf so I am scared that she won't hear me calling her.

I took a nap and feel better now. I have been so tired. I really think it is from being inactive.

dkell - i don't blame you - i wouldn't let her outside either! For Callie's last 3 years she lived inside too - she'd go out during the day for little bits in the warm weather but i never let her stay out at night. It seems like all my animals are getting old - i have 2 cats - well, Licorice is only 13, but Fuzzball is 17. My horse is 26 and my dogs are 8 and the other 2 are 11. They're so my family!'

The weekends can be harder for me because it always seems like i end up eating 1 or 2 meals out with friends. And when i eat out i'm not as disciplined as some people (Barbie - you do so great!). So some weeks it's 2 steps forward, 1 step back........i guess as long as we all keep on going forward we're doing ok, right???????

OK ladies - i'm going to settle in for the night - it is so windy and cold here i just want to crawl into bed and stay there 'till spring! Which, of course, could be tomorrow:bigsmile:

    Good night all! elli

Had to change my ticker as I said I would.

I'm not happy about it but, I am not giving up. I seem to yo-yo a lot. It's my week-end indulgences. So on the positive side. I'm in the 160's. My goal is to have a solid 165 pounds off by April 30th and to play with 160 and 165. Hopefully, I can get to the 150's but I am not setting that goal yet. My life is to complicated

Not sure if I am going to the gym. If it stays nice out this morning I might work in the yard and doing some walking. I just walked bosco but that does not count. He stops to many times to sniff.
I know why that called snoopy the beagle snoopy. That nose does not leave the ground.

Hope all will have a great day.

    I will check in later.

Oh drats, Kathy....I was going to count walking the dog. Mine has to water every tree, pole, fence post or anything else that isn't moving. Why is it that even when we are watching our calories and exercising we still yo yo? It isn't fair. I am going to try for a six pound lose for the month of April. That will put me two pounds lighter than I was before surgery as I have gained four.

Sound like there are lots of cat people on this thread. And yes that is Lily of the Valley Violet is hiding under. I took it last April when we still lived in AR.

A new month is just one sleep away... another chance for us all to begin again. Another chance to become healthier and hopefully slimmer. :drinker:

Funny, how you never give things a thought until you don't have them any more. I was an underweight child and teenager so what, when or how I ate never entered my mind. Now it seems I must monitor every step and morsel to lose a measly pound a week.

Knowing so many of you have and are doing it successfully gives me hope. :flowerforyou:

On a side note, hubby is getting bored with grilled chicken breast and pork chops. (I only fix red meat once a week.) Anybody have a great low cal recipe a non-dieting husband will eat to share?

suezzzque...I see that you have gone back to using that cute ticker. I just love it.

Grammy....From the looks of things we are all ready to get going in April. Maybe it is the hope of some nice weather that has us wanting to get down to business.

April can not come fast enough.

Swiss, I know I can't factor in my calories to much with my dog. He just wants to stop sniff, stop sniff, stop sniff. I do try once in a while to get him to run but I have to stop after a while. I'm not at that point to keep running. Did you buy your Heart Rate Monitor? When you do just check it out and see how many calories you did burn. That's when you are feeling up to it.:flowerforyou:

I know I was a little sad, when I used mine at the gym to find out the machines almost doubled the calories I burned. I am almost over the shock that I have to work harder to archive the calories I thought I did burn. That may have been a big problem. I might have been eating way to many calories. I will see in April if that theory comes to fruition.

I love cats & dogs. My cat's name is punky. we adopted him also and that was his name and I liked it. He is in my profile pictures. I think you all know Bosco:happy:

Well, I opted for the gym. I did 1 hour and 1/2 of cardio. and 45 mins of strength training. I'm glad I went. I have to get back to a schedule again don't know what curve ball will be thrown at me in the future.

Kathy..I also bought a pedometer and I haven't set either one of them up yet. I didn't know that there would be a big difference between what the machines say and the heart monitor. I have been going by the machines.
Our whole family are animal lovers. We have three cats (only one of their owners lives here), the dog, a rabbit and my husband raises cockatiels. He has six of them at this time.

I love hearing about everyone's pets. We have two dogs and two cats. I woke up in the middle of the night to find all four animals in bed with me and my husband on the hide-a-bed in the living room because they pushed him out of bed:laugh:

I awoke at 7 AM to pouring rain......rain so bad that even the poodles didn't like it. I count my dog walking calories because we walk up and down a steep hill for about 10 minutes per dog. I thought there would be no dog park walk today so I fixed my husband and me a fancier breakfast (eggbeaters omelet with peppers, onion, and spinach, toast, and salsa). When I left the table after breakfast the sun was shining and the dogs were dogging my footsteps waiting for me to take them to the park. We went and found that the rain had been replaced by howling winds. The dogs loved the wind and I couldn't wait to get home.

After a hugely successful March---I went from 174 to 166----8 pounds lost, YIPPEE and lots of exercise on the stationery bike and twice a week strength training, and tracking my foods each day, I am looking toward a more challenging April

I'm going to take April one day at a time and meet the challenges as they come (four days in a hotel will start the month)

Kathy---keep the cartoons coming---you bring such joy to my life
I love how you don't give up even when there are bumps in the road. Having a bit of a setback hasn't sent you back to a life of pizza and ice cream......you keep picking yourself up with humor and a new resolve.

Katkat--welcome--we need all the help we can get--this is a great thread---lots of motivation and support:bigsmile: :flowerforyou:  :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Becky---you inspire me with the way you've bounced back from your surgery and you never give up.

Susan---you give me hope that going on vacation won't totally derail the momentum I have. Your cat in the garden is darling:bigsmile:

Big cyber hugs to everyone---we can do this:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Welcome Katkat. Glad you found us. Be thinking about your goals for April and we'll post a new thread tomorrow - and that's no April Fools!

Kathy - I love your cartoons. How do you get those in there?

Barbie - you are amazing. WOW! I want to be there by the end of April - down 8 pounds. But I'll make my goal 5 and be extra blessed if I get down 8!

I just returned from my workout and I feel energized. Now to keep on moving and do some much needed cleaning of my home! And paying bills :ohwell:

Have a great day everyone. I'll post another thread late tonight so that it will be there early tomorrow for those of you on the other side of the continent!

    hello everybody!!!!!!

Welcome Katkat - sounds like you have a huge goal!!!!! 20 pounds by memorial day! You can do it! There is so much positiveness (is that a word?) and support with this great group of women!

Barbie!!!!!!!:drinker: you inspire me! EIGHT pounds in March! OMG! that is absolutely amazing! And you walk in rain, in wind.........i don't even want to walk where the dead COW is!!!!!!!:grumble: I'm so proud of you!

Kathy - WOW - you work out like crazy! So glad how you bounced back after all your challanges this month! You're doing great.

Hey Esther! I know, Kathy's cartoons, right? SO COOL!

I'm excited tomorrow's a new month - just so long as all our computers don't crash from the crazy virus thats supposed to be going around!!!!!!!!!

I've SO downsized as far as the animals go - 3 dogs, 2 cats and 1 horse. Then of course there are the 3 tom turkeys that hang out at my house - lol. When my kids were growing up we had everything - goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, donkey, cow, more horses, more dogs and cats........pigs. it was a regular petting zoo around here! NOW i don't want to do all the work by myself!

OK - see you all for tomorrow new goal setting! Have a great rest of the day and a good night. I'm going to work out after i get off work!

Hi, I have started cooking either red beans and brown rice or black beans and brown rice once a week. I add lowfat sour cream, lowfat cheese and onion on top it is very good and very low calorie.
I also make talapia with jerk seasoning very quick and easy plus it is not fishy. That is spicy . Grilled wild salmon is also very good I do not like the farm raised it is to FISHY. Also steamed shrimp, as well as frattas for dinner if he likes egg dishes. Hope these suggestions help.

Hi Elli, :flowerforyou: We lived on a farm for a few years and I thought I'd like to have goats and chickens but when I asked people who had them to tell me about raising them, the first thing they said was, "Well, every morning I get up early and........." so I decided that I already had enough stuff to do when I go up in the morning and still had to be at work 20 miles away at 7:30 so I gave up on the idea of farm animals.  My dogs are so sweet and appealing that I can deny them nothing
but I wouldn't walk them near a dead cow either.

Lynn::bigsmile: Thanks for sharing your yummy food ideas. We're always looking for something with a little spice and pizazz.

Esther, thanks for taking care of us by posting the new thread. I'm thinking hard about my goals for April. Setting goals and being in touch with all of you has been hugely important to me.

I went to my husband's Isagenix meeting today at lunchtime and I had Isagenix stuff for lunch. I feel like a fraud at their meeting because, except for an occasional shake, I'm not following their program at all. But one woman asked me about the site where I track my meals and wrote it down.

Now it's time for more exercise:bigsmile:  and water:drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

    Hello Ladies,

:flowerforyou: Barbie, Boy I relate to your husband sleeping on the hid-a-bed. As you might know my hubby works the midnight shif. Bosco some times comes in and sleeps with me. BUT, come the weekend he almost insist. He has to sleep inbetween my hubby and I. I sometimes end up on the couch. However, I don't go down with out a fight.

Yes, :flowerforyou: Barbie some dogs are great for burning calories while walking that is for sure. Just not Bosco.

    Congratulations. 8 pounds. WOW.

:flowerforyou: Barbie, I will try to make you laugh. I have to or I will go insane

Hi :flowerforyou: Esther, regarding the cartoons. I just go to a web site. Right click on a photo, scroll down to where is says properties, click that. In the properties box I copy the address, then paste it on this thread. THEN, I put in the front and at the end. Try it sometime. It's fun.
Great job with your work out

:flowerforyou: Elli, I agree Barbie is such and inspiration. Thanks on the compliment. I had to push my self to go to the gym, believe me. I just had to. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: I just know it is the great support I am getting from all you great ladies. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: WOW, I guess you had a petting Zoo. That must have been fantastic for your kids.

:flowerforyou: I-maholy (Lynn), can you come over to my house and cook for me.  Please, Please. Those suggestions sound great.

Well, I better log in my food. I'm not as good as Barbie I do it as I go along now.

    Kathy
