    are you biking at the gym or outside?
    how long does it take you to bike 23 miles?

    i'm asking because i was riding the bike at the gym and really pushing myself and i did 20 miles in an hour, but the other day i rode on a spin class bike at the gym and did 10 miles in 23 minutes and didn't even feel that tired. could the readings on one of the bikes be that far out?

    I'm outdoors on the weekends, indoor trainer during the week. Indoors distance is a bit meaningless it depends on the resistance, but I just go by my bike computer distance. 23 miles was indoors and took 70 min's at 70% of my max heart rate.

    I've totally been slacking on logging on this thread. I have been keeping track, here is my update. My back has been bothering me this week so I have been unable to run. Instead I have been using my bike trainer. The first month I may meet my bike goal, and I may miss my running goal.

    2012/01/06 - 15 HIIT on the bike trainer - 3.5 miles.
    2012/01/08 - 7 mile run
    2012/01/09 - 15 HIIT on the bike trainer - 3.5 miles
    2012/01/10 - 15 HIIT on the bike trainer - 3.5 miles
    2012/01/11 - 30 minutes in morning on bike, 30 in afternoon - 14 miles
    2012/01/12 - 15 HIIT on bike trainer in the morning, 30 minutes steady state afternoon - 10.5 miles
    2012/01/13 - 15 HIIT on bike trainer in morning, 3.5 miles
    30 minute swim - .5 miles




    Totals -
    Swim - 0.5
    Bike - 57.5 (goal met!!)
    Run - 14.5

    Goals -
    Swim - 3 miles
    Bike - 56 miles
    Run - 55 miles.

    Joined the local tri club for this year and workouts started this week so got in a run on Monday (I was the slowest but did manage to run for a straight 4k!!! LOL) and swim on Wednesday.

    So far as of Jan 14th:
    Swim: 2km (of 4km)
    Bike: 26.90 km (of 180km)
    Run/Walk: 22.21km (of 42km)

    Halfway to to my run/walk goals and swim goals but have to do more biking! More painting this weekend :)

    How's it going, pals?

    January goals:
    Swim 10 miles (Way less than January last year (30+) but I haven't swam in some months.)
    Bike more than 180 miles (30 more than December)
    Walk/Run at least 26.2 miles (about double December)

    So far (1/14)
    Swim - 1.99 miles
    Bike - 69.93 miles
    Walk/Run - 18.99

    So, I need to get my swim in gear. Not sure I'll make the bike goal since I am stuck indoors on the trainer most of the time. We shall see. At least the walk/run goal is in sight this month, which is progress on that front.

    I dislike the trainer and the weather is requiring that I ride on the trainer. Ack. I have to be very consistent to achieve my bike goal by the end of the month. I think the swim goal is doable since I have some planned training with a group the next two weeks. The walk/run is so going to happen this month. Yea. :bigsmile:

    I am on track to bike more than last month and I've already swum more (0 last month) and walked/run lots more. So, I'm not doing TOO bad! :laugh:
