Ran a half marathon today. Not a PB but not bad considering how cold and windy it is. Now to eat back some of those calories7

Did a bunch of stretching this morning - still trying to work through some lower back and shoulder issues. Stretching seemed to help. Logged a total of 183 minutes of exercise for today (most pretty easy due to back and shoulder - stretching, beginner exercise video, glider) / 5.33 miles on glider.2

I surprised myself this weekend. I ran a 5k with a time of 24:59. I was kind of shocked because I'm coming off from an injury on my left knee. I ran a 5k several weeks ago and my time was around 30 minutes, but this was the first time I had actually ran since I injured my knee back in October. It's nice to see an improvement.9

Hi Kids, hope all is well. Can someone tell me how to show pictures on here. I want to get in on some of the fun too. I have a Fit Bit blaze and simply not connecting it properly to MFP. Needless to say, it is trying the last bit of patience that I have. I dropped my Monday TRX class and replaced it with another weight lifting circuit,. Heavier weight shorter reps. Congrats to you JasonRoeder, gam3rguy, AWESOME, misscaga, congrats to you as well. Larro, you are such a show off (lol). So happy you are back. Have a great day everyone.2

I've really struggled with hamstring pain during the last few weeks, especially during the later segments of our long runs. These flare ups have slowed my time considerably, but I managed to finish our last long run, a 20 miler yesterday, somewhat intact. Now its Taper Time! Ten days of stretching, foam rolling and recovery paced runs in the Florida sunshine starting tomorrow. That should give me a decent chance to get to the starting line healthy.

@caramelgyrlk - there are little icons above the message box. The little black square box is what you click to attach a picture. Good luck! I look forward to seeing your pictures. You look AMAZING btw. Your hard work has certainly paid off.
@JasonlRoeder - congrats on a great 5k run!
@Djproulx - glad you got your last long run in, now it is time to enjoy the taper.
Got a 10k run in yesterday. I ran /walked it as the roads were pretty icy. Walked most of the uphills. Hill just do me in.
Met with a trainer yesterday. A STRENGTH trainer! Yes....no cardio, all weights. Will start when I am back from Hawaii at the end of the month. Am super excited.
Worked late today, so didn't get my run in. Hope tomorrow is a better workout day.2 -
Hi all I'm 46 and been on and off for several years. I've been at it again since January and have lost 16 lbs. I have 45 more to loose. I never thought I'd be exercising again. I really missed it because I had become very stiff and hard to get up stairs but I'm back and don't want and will not go back!!!!! Everyone, stay motivated!5

Hey everyone
So last week I was working away although I got in a couple of runs, which was nice as it was in a totally new area to me.
As meals were from the pub next door to the hotel I was expecting a huge increase on the scale when I got back....but I was pleasantly surprised at how little it actually was (and I think it is all water weight anyway).
Things are back to normal with work now but I have got a bit of a strain in my left calf...so I am going to give that a chance to settle this week as I don't want to aggravate it.
Have a happy week, people6 -
One week later and I am fully recovered from my vacation weight gain. Still focused on success. I have been experimenting with a concept called "calorie cycling" - which really seems to be working for me and makes it easier to stick to my plan. Has anyone else had success with that approach? Wondering if it stays effective on a more long term basis and helps prevent plateaus - which are a super motivation problem for me when they occur.2
-
Hey kids, I hope I did this right....Here is my old before
and my photo from last week

Rowing. 2km warm-up, followed by a 1km sprint as prep for a time trial next week. Goal was 4:00. Result was 4:00.8. So close! Then a final 2km cool-down.
Lastly, sets of assisted pull-ups, chin-ups, and dips.5 -
Happy International Women's Day ladies! Have to share this story. Had a lunch date today with my 5 year old granddaughter. We ALWAYS go to Subway - her "favourite restaurant". Today, she says..."I have a surprise for you. I want to go to Tim Horton's. " She knows I prefer Tim's coffee, so it was her way of giving me a surprise. Once we arrive, she says "Happy Girls Day!" When I asked her how she knew it was Girls day, she told me she learned it at school. So, I asked what they did at school to celebrate girls day, and she replied "we played soccer".8

Hey kids, TRX and MTR done. I decided not to skip rope and push/pull the sled during the cardio circuits. Little did I know initially that I was pushing 345 pounds. 270 in weights and the sled weighs 75 pounds. That motivated a guy in class to try it. The trainer often tells me that I am stronger than I realize. I am sure I will feel it tomorrow. I sincerely appreciate the kind words all of you posted about my transformation. It really made my day and certainly encourages me to keep forging ahead. Have a great night.8 -
@caramelgyrlk That is fantastic! Way to go, keep up the amazing work.1

"INSANITY MAX:30 Tabata Strength"=Done! 20:13! I made it past those stupid low diamond holds! crashed on the low shoulder holds. caught myself holding my breath...and still sinking down.3
