you don't need a gym and X3 is available on DVD (can be done with little to no equipment following the modifier).

Not much equipment needed for P90X3, just some dumbbells and a chin up bar or resistance bands with door attachment. I got my set of bands on Amazon for about $30. I finally got a chin up bar on Craigslist for $20. And I have never paid full price for any of my Beachbody DVDs. I find them on Craigslist, too!

Start vacation tonight! 4 days of camping/river canoeing followed by 3 days with the family followed by 4 days in Nashville for a team reunion. Going into a dead zone - no phone zone! Think I'm more excited about that than anything.

    Have a great week folks!

Ran 3m. Opted out of strength training today so my arms and core can recover enough to withstand a long weekend of drumming.

Its been all easy workouts this week before a sprint distance tri on Sunday. I'll join a group swim tonight and my wife will come along as kayak support. If the weather is good, there will be an outdoor happy hour after the swim. Sunday is race morning, followed by a kayak excursion in the afternoon.

    Stay Cool.

Happy Friday kids. TRX and Boot Camp done. This weekend I am going to a few animal shelters in hopes of a dog who will select me as his human (lol). The problem is I will want to take them all home. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Have a great weekend kids and keep up the good work.

Great to find this group. I'm 48 and have been up and down with my weight till this year. This time I am very serious about my weight and my health, losing 47 pounds since last year i feel much better now.

My goal is to loose 5% body fat and get back some muscle.

Hope everyone enjoy this trip to success.

Hi, everyone, fairly new to MFP, was on another app. Not new to losing and logging tho. I am 46, will turn 47 in November. I'm a teacher and I am working out to lose and to stay heart healthy. Friends are welcomed.

Welcome newbies! I can't wait to read about your fitness adventures!

Yesterday was a cross-training day so no running, but I did do P90X3 The Challenge and a 4-mile walk. My numbers for the Challenge were 5/15. I was definitely feeling that it had been a while since I'd done anything resembling a pull up. Ouch!! Those were some of the ugliest pull ups ever!

Today is Fartlek Friday! So, today's 6-mile run consisted of my warm up, 8 speed intervals, and cool down. I also did P90X3 CVX using an 8-lb weight. Boy did that feel good when I was done!

No P90X3 for me today. Today was the Great Brain Wash 5K Obstacle Run. This is one of my favorite runs. 3.1 miles. 14 inflatable water slides. Tons of fun!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! And good luck to anyone racing! I expect race reports by Monday!!

@Djproulx -- What a great day! Happy Manniversary! You're doing an excellent job of luring me back to triathlons. I'm already committed to 5K and rowing events through the winter, but I'm leaning toward tri training in the spring.

My report: Ran 3m this morning. 10K training starts Friday.

@Djproulx Awesome weekend for you! Love the pics and the "manniversary."

P90X3 Total Synergistically and a 5-mile run with hill sprints. Dang! It was hot out there today!

Rowed 30 easy minutes, followed by strength work.

Could only do one rep of assisted pull-ups before my elbow started hurting again. It's worrisome. Will back off and find an alternate exercise.

HI All, @Djproulx , congratulations! Love the pictures. So awesome!

My weekend took a turn for the worse....my husband experienced sudden onset of severe abd pain Friday night, so I took him to hospital. They admitted him, with possible appendicitis. They talked of flying him out for surgery, then opted to treat him with antibiotics. He came home Saturday and basically stayed in bed as he was experiencing on / off pain. Feeling better every day. Needless to say, not much time to workout as all the B&B work fell to me. Also had a funeral for the young lady that was killed while riding her bike.

I did manage to take my granddaughters out on Sunday. We went for a nice long walk, and played a good while in the park. The 2 year old kept me running as she sure can climb, and is fearless. Not sure why she thinks she wont get hurt if she lets go of the monkey bars. :p

Monday was a housekeeping day, lunch with a visiting friend and house concert in the evening. It was also a stat holiday for us in Canada.
Back to work today and back to my workout schedule. Helps that DH is home early to greet guests. :)

Hi, I turned 40 in May. Reading through the posts this seems like a great group! I'm someone who's always been very thin. When I was younger it was because of an undiagnosed medical condition (I had celiac so I couldn't absorb nutrients).

Now I'm healthier but gained more than I'd like. This spring I hit the scale at 165 or so and realized that was my highest pregnancy weight. I honestly still struggle with denial until I'm trying on a bikini. And I'm not crazy enough to do that very often! My goal is to lose ten pounds and to be able to do 10 push-ups with good form.

The only diet I seem to be able to do is Keto, which I actually love. I think it's because celiac, which is an autoimmune reaction to gluten, just makes a person not do great with grains. I'll add back rice and potatoes in small amounts when I maintain.

For exercise, I've come to accept that running is too hard on my body. I love cardio at the time I'm doing it but can't do the recovery from running. Now I'm into barre. It is very intense for the hour that I do it but I feel great afterward.

In barre we do body weights and light weights. Sometimes kettle bells and resistance bands. I'm curious about thoughts from other women about whether this is enough lifting. Would I get more bone density/fat loss if I worked in heavy weights? I'm very happy with the way my body looks on barre, but want to make sure I'm healthy.

    :)Megan

P90X3 X3 Yoga and a 10-mile run. Brutally hot today so I had to hit the treadmill. Today's run has been brought to you by too many episodes of Arrow, lol!

    Track workout today. 5 x 400m with 400m walk in between. 1 mile warm-up and cool-down.
