Cap'n? Really dude... You can go ahead and count your calories but if your food is gargage, its garbage. Period! You are what you eat big guy...

    Lollercoaster.gif

    Look up discretionary kcal allowance

I've seen a little about what Acg eats and all I can say is . . . . damn it looks good

It's all about balance. While some people may find balance in having a "treat" every single day, some people are fine with once a week, once a month, or never. The important thing is that everyone on this site (okay, for the most part...) is trying to live a healthier lifestyle. You can live a healthy lifestyle and still eat double cheeseburgers on occasion.

I don't know why you feel the need to judge others' dietary discretion.

In my opinion, it must be nice to be able to afford to eat clean 100% of the time. That's a luxury I don't have. I make minimum wage. I do the best I can, I have learned many little tips for making my dollar go further in terms of quality food, but sometimes if I have to eat 2 dollar cheese burgers or a lean cuisine to keep the lights on, then so be it. You can't judge if you dont know everyone's situations. My broke *kitten* also pirated every beachbody program that I have, so come throw stones at me for that too lol.

^^^^ ahahahaha me too gotta love piratebay lol

Try Green & Black's 85% cocoa. You will never eat Dove again.

Agreed 100%... G&B has some really delicious chocolate. I get that a lot of people don't love darker chocolate, but if it's high quality it can be really smooth and tasty, not like eating baking chocolate. I forget the brand, but the best chocolate I've ever had was dark chocolate with sea salt and almonds.

Man with sea salt is my fav! I only have seen it in lindt brand here, that stuff is so good!

Please point me to said 400 calorie double cheeseburger. Thanks

McDonalds Mcdouble ($1) no pickle, no bun....less than 400 cal. Even a qtr pounder w/ cheese no bun...they put it on a bed of lettuce. That's my twice a month indulgence!

a cheeseburger without a bun IS NOT a cheeseburger!!!!! so ok then we're still waiting lol

Can you imagine how many other people would have joined in if I had dared mentioned any other type of food that is considered bad for people.. There are clearly a lot of burger fans and people who would rather state that they like to eat their burgers rather than see the point that only a few seemed to get.

Ok, fine, call it twinkies, call it cupcakes, call it fried chicken. Whatever the hell you wanna call it, it is the same principal. YOU choosing not to is fine..... I (and apparently MANY others) do not choose that road. Some people would rather actually ENJOY life and the tasty things in it, and understand that it is ok to have the things you want as long as you make sure you are not missing out on the things you need........ Only a few "get" your point because the majority feel it is daft. It is all personal opinion. But the judgement on how someone else eats is what I see as the problem. If I eat a bucket of KFC every day, it will not make YOU fat, so just ignore other peoples choices. And seek out a really good therapist.

What the hell difference does it make to you what other people do? Does it somehow effect you? Or just make you jealous?

(I'll pretend I care....) As I munch on my 650 calorie shake with broken bits of waffle cone that I crumpled up and mixed in....

:) I still have 1,000 calories left for the day. And that's accounting for the TWO black bean brownies I plan to consume. I'll likely have a bowl of ice cream tonight too. Moose tracks. Mmmmmmmm.

I'm sorry--did I offend you by using curse words like shake, waffle cone, ice cream, and brownies? Nevermind; don't answer that. I don't really give a rat's *kitten*.

Last night, for supper, I had a hamburger on a potato roll. Scandalous.

I stalked Acg for months before adding him. Nothing wrong with a little stalking.

Also, I think his abs speak for him in regards to carbs not hurting him in the fitness department.

First I want to say that I don't think or care if Acg is a weirdo. But thinking anyone's abs speak for anything when it comes to fitness or nutrition is not wise unless you've known them for a while and know them well. Many people are naturally thin no matter what they eat, so just a few ab exercises will give them a 6 pack. That doesn't mean the same is true for others.

Not sure why this bothers me but it every time I read someone posting something about how that 400 calorie Double Cheeseburger or Bucket of fried food fits into my daily calories, so I'm going to eat it!!. It is one thing if it's a special occasion but if this is a daily or weekly occurrence, you are only lying to yourself and making it that much harder to get to that goal you've been reaching for. Calories aren't the enemy, it is what those calories are made up with that count.

    well said!

    rarw..hiss..grrr...etc..etc...

Come now. Each and every person is responsible for their own body and weight loss.

This is an example of diet elitism...I know best...you're doing it wrong...etc...

I think everyone goes down in steps...the first one is limiting the amount of food,
    the second, increasing the quality,
and the third, balancing the two.

No two diets or bodies are alike.

So if it's not your body these terrible calories are going into..and without being a total tool here....why should you care?

    I disagree with the OP.

When I cut, I still find ways to include my favorite foods. I have pizza, ice cream, and *gasp* fast food cheeseburgers when I want them.

The key is still moderation. Obviously I'm not going to consume only "junk".

But a good physique is attainable without eating clean and counting calories.
I haven't counted a single calorie on my last cut from 181 to 165. (From Feb 1st till today).
I've also had cheeseburgers weekly, ice cream on a regular basis, numerous trips to taco bell, and lots of food that most people would say aren't "clean".

I'd like to think I look decent for someone who is more concerned with performance than aesthetics.

Eating clean really isn't expensive. I feed a family of 5 on $150 or less per week. The majority of what we eat is organic. The caveat is that our food is made from scratch. We don't buy convenience foods. I feed 5 people (I include my 3 month old because I'm breastfeeding and am eating about 3000 calories a day) on $21 a day max. It's not hard to eat organic if you plan your meals, budget and shop appropriately.

organic and clean aren't synonyms, ya know...

I am one of those people that honestly, enjoys eating a variety of things. I prefer to a higher volume of lower calorie/lower fat foods as it allows me to eat a higher volume of food. I would not enjoy eating for example a 6" rib sub with cheese and mayo and a small bag of chips when I could probably have a 12" turkey sub with tons of veggies and a salad to boot plus some hummus on the side (split into two meals) .. but, that's my preference and my choice to make. I've tried and love many 'new to me' foods simply because they allow me flexibility. It doesn't bother me if someone chooses foods that others consider unwise choices..but I think they may be missing out on enjoying some other things.. but, that too, is their choice.

  • I eat what fits in my daily calories. Some days that's awesome salads and fruits and healthy food. Some days, it's pop tarts for breakfast and a 1000 calorie lunch with a burger in it. This isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle, and I'm not going to give up the foods I love when I can just as well eat them, still lose weight, and not murder someone.

Um, Wow. Why does the OP caring what other people eat upset you so much? Why do you care so much what she does, but expect her not to care what anyone else does?
